Hexagon/Violet
I have it on good authority just how on-the-nose this'll be, my name being Violet, you'll see why soon.
About a few months and a couple of weeks from now
Everyone was driving to the outskirts of town where it touches the woods, which was where a man named Jason Lee Scott was hunkering down with his team of beetle rangers.
Cam didn't tag along for some reason.
As soon as we reached the outskirts, we all tumbled out of our parked convoy and slowly headed to the entrance.
Because Someone for some reason forgot the wheelchair, Mannie nestled a still recovering Jane in his arms bridal style, her hand resting on his chest, allowing her to feel his possibly fast, but most definitely steady heartbeat.
"The, uhh..." Mannie nervously chuckled. "The doctor said to stay in bed for a couple of days and then ease back into your normal routine."
Either Jane isn't as heavy as she looks or Mannie is stronger than he appears because he's not even breaking a sweat carrying her around like that... How? Does love strengthen a man or is it that strict ranger-regiment that Commander Oliver has us on and/or the ranger powers even if we're not morphed? Is it all of the above?
"I'll remember that." Jane smiled, her face turning bashful red. "Thank you."
"For what? Reminding you of what the doctor prescribed?" Mannie asked dumbfounded and guilty. "Or amost killing you?"
"For afterwords." Jane answered. "Sure, I wouldn't have landed in an infirmary obviously set up for you guys if it wasn't for you, but I'd also be dead." An embarrassed smirk was my red clad brother's only response.
That was the truth, but i'd argue that it was also because of that convincing disguise of hers, otherwise she definitely wouldn't have had to come to blows with Mannie in the first place, sometimes lumps have to be taken and if she was so hung up about not being taken seriously as a leader because of being female, too bad.
"Tommy." We heard a masculine sounding voice come from the entrance to the woods, not sure if The tone of it was either angry or it just sounded like that no matter the emotions, if it was the latter, I would hate to see how he sounded when he was mad.
"Jason." Commander Oliver responded using the same tone almost mocking.
Three figures emerged from behind trees, One: a man roughly the same age as the commander, Tousled hair that seems to be somewhere in between brunette and raven, wearing a red top beneath what appeared to be biker clothes worn half to shreds, my guess is that is Jason.
The second one: Jane's younger Irish twin brother, John, His appearance was definitely a gender flipped version of Jane, Navy athletic attire that was a third or two of the way falling apart instead of Crimson, I recognize him anywhere.
The third and final one: A boy roughly the same age as me and my teammates as well as his own, a brunette with a stereotypical emo cut, adorned in clothes covered in so many gold patches that those might as well be what they're made of, he had one of those stick things that blind people have in his hand that helps him walk without bumping into things, Justin without a doubt.
"Long time, no see." Commander Oliver said, his tone softened. "And you too, Justin."
"I'd say the same, but I haven't been able to see anything or anyone since the accident." Justin standoffishly said, almost as if the commander was to blame.
Jason stepped in the way of Justin as if to defend him from a bully. "Your team leader almost killed mine." Jason said, crossing his arms.
"I'm not excusing Hexagon Red's actions, but I can't control how my team feels about anything." Commander Oliver said, a hint of frustration to the tone of his voice. "Zordon knew that as well as anyone."
Jason drew the sharpest deep breath I've ever heard. "Are you just here to gloat about having one of my beetle rangers as one of your prisoners?"
"What do you even take me for these days?" Commander Oliver said before turning to Mannie. "You know what to do."
I really hope Mannie does, my brother can be pretty slow at times. "Thanks for not dying on me a couple weeks ago." I heard him whisper into Jane's ear as he walked past Tommy, He slowly approached Jason so as to appear non-threatening.
I really hope this conflict is finished because we have bigger fish to fry and having another Ranger team on our side would really help with that.
Present day
The sun was as heat stroke inducing as it gets, the sand on the beach seemed whiter that very moment, and the surf consisted of waves of white-gold though from a distance it looked like glitter.
But my older Irish twin brother and I weren't there to enjoy a day at the beach, nor were we there to admire the atmosphere... well maybe we were, but it being for the sake of it was not why we were there, if you can keep a secret, I'll tell you, my brother and I have been recruited for something called Project Hexagon, yeah, the moment that letter came in the mail, neither me nor my brother would ever in 1 million years, think anyone could ever be for real, this trip to the beach was celebratory as a result.
I was just aimlessly walking when my equally aimless glance spotted Cameron Oliver talking to Mannie and Sterling, the former is Commander Oliver's boy, Cam (I think I'll call him that, for short) must've been adopted because they look nothing alike, besides, I didn't even know the commander had a son, let alone married.
"Way to live the high life before having a mission." Mannie said.
Cam took a deep sharp breath. "I do love that salty air smell, it reminds me of when I first met my girlfriend." He sighed, oh so he's got a girlfriend, poor Mannie and Sterling must be jealous. "I was just having a little fun in the surf when I lost my balance and hit my head..."
My attention and my feet drifted from the conversation between the boys as my peripheral vision caught fraternal albino twins, one of each gender, I say "albino", but… They could be platinum blonde, however, this was the beach and the sun was in everyone's eyes, mine included so their hair looked white.
The girl was a stunner in spite of the bruises that were lining every inch of exposed skin, which looked years old if it's possible for such an injury to last that long without a single bodily consequence.
The boy on the other hand, Handsome as he looked and with the same bruises, teetered more towards me in terms of frame, That's probably the body I'd have if I was born a boy.
He approached me as I turned toward him, my brown peepers looking into his gray ones, the area around one of them had an old bruise. "Excuse me miss, have you seen a blind male brunette?" He asked, suddenly I felt the need to say the following...
"You Should see my brother when he's not wearing his contact lenses." I chuckled, watching his sister approach. "Unless you're talking about him, no, I haven't." my gaze turned to my brother, whose attention also drifted to the girl who was probably next to her brother by now, he had an awestruck look in his eye, I tried to suppress my laughter as I turned back to the 'albino' boy.
"Come on, John, I think I saw one sitting next to a ginger woman." The girl said, grabbing her brother by the arm and tugging him away from me, she must've noticed the look on my face, one of resentment mixed with embarrassment. "Sorry for troubling you, Miss." Did she mean me? Believe me, The trouble didn't come from what she thought.
It just always feels embarrassing when I meet someone new, they're usually so much more attractive than me, every woman I ever meet is taller than me, curvier than me (that damn metabolism, wouldn't it be easier if I didn't have such a thing in common with a hummingbird or a pygmy shrew?), less freckles than me and/or some with the same hair color looks thicker, longer and more glossy than mine, mine looks like years old Carmel while others look freshly prepared.
Why would this very girl be any exception? I probably make her look like a bodybuilder, an amazon, Curvaceous as all heck, but in a way that makes the average passerby think she would make the cover of Glitz Magazine, which she might, but I was taught not to judge a book by its cover, sorry if it doesn't show.
Suddenly, the contraption (cannot for the life of me remember what it's called) on my wrist started beeping. "Yeah?" I spoke into it.
Your first mission. The contraption on my wrist spoke, baring the commanders voice. There's a blue face monster at the quarry, i'm sending you the coordinates.
"I'll let the others know" I said making a beeline for the guys.
I don't know if she should be named Violet or something else, I've thought about Belle/Bella (short for Isabell/Isabella), but I dodged a bullet in light of Dino Fury green who's name is Izzy (and there is no telling what that could possibly be short for), I try to avoid names that were already claimed by previous rangers and I don't really remember the other names I considered, but the franchise needs more female Rangers named after flowers… Right...? And that's probably why I randomly went with Violet for the blue wind... er, I mean Hexagon ranger.
