Been a minute hasn't it? Well shouldn't be a surprise I'm working on another project, my job, school, all the things. But enough about that it's time for the defense of Raven Rock

"What do you mean no! This is a state of emergency and I'm a general. I should be able to lead the army against that emergency." Colwell said. The three generals were making their way back into the base, a handful of reinforcements geared with suppression fire weaponry having come to the front to relieve those who fought earlier.

"I mean not a chance in hell!" Razz snarled. "You assaulted the general of the army and abandoned the enclave right before a major attack against us! I should have you on trial for high treason."

"Don't forget I still owe you a trip to the medic Razz," Colwell responded, causing the head of IA to take a step behind Autumn. "Now I have no idea what you're talking about, but We have a bunch of things that need to be killed, and that is my specialty so shut up and give me the ability to do my job."

"Since when have you cared about your job!" Razz asked.

"Since the Enclave's survival relied on it," Colwell said.

"Our survival my ass since when do you care about anything other than your stupid mutts!" Razz accused, a quick glance around him reminded him that he had Minotuar cleaning his sword within earshot so he scooted closer to Autumn.

"I don't want to hear dick about loyalty Razz, I've fought for the Enclave since Poseidon fell, I've scraped, clawed, killed for the Enclave, for our homes and I'll kill anything I need to so we can keep this home." Colwell snarled.

"What do you plan on doing if I grant your request?" Autumn asked, finally chiming in. "If, and I do mean if, I have you take charge of Raven Rock's defense what will you do?"

"Do you even need to ask, general?" Colwell said. "I plan on leaving no enemy of the Enclave alive."

"Alright, I'm on strategic command, but I'll give you field control," Autumn said, Razz looked on in horror as Autumn kept his gaze on Colwell. "Don't make me regret this."

"Yes sir, just one question." Colwell said, "What's a strategic command?"

Navarro leaned back in his new accommodations and looked at the mess in front of him, he had to rip apart a good chunk of his power armor already and knew he'd need to dismantle more yet to get anything useful out of it.

"Hey! Got your stuff." A young girl's voice called.

Navarro glanced at the entry, no one had talked to him since Raven left and he'd been working in quiet since so someone talking from outside, much less a voice that young, surprised him.

"Are you going to invite me in or should I dump your shit out here?" The voice said.

"You can enter," Jose said with a slight smile. The tent flap moved and true to the voice a young girl entered, carrying a box from what he could tell had some medical supplies and food.

"About time, so you're the outsider that killed Charles?" She asked, looking him up and down. "Why does your face look like you went down on a blender?"

The general let out a brief chuckle before he froze at that comment from such a young child.

"Oh right,' he thought, "Raiders".

"I'm surprised there are kids in a raider camp, doesn't seem like the kind of place young would be raised in," Navarro commented, placing down a piece of equipment he had in his hand.

"What are you talking about? We got people fucking here all the time," she said.

"Sex and child care aren't exactly the same thing," Navarro said after a moment of pause as he was surprised by her language.

"I guess, how did you get those scars anyways?" She asked, once more focused on the mismatch of healed wounds on the general.

"From missions, the fresher ones are from some of those Grimm that I met before I got to the camp. Assholes hit me when my armor was already falling at the seams." He answered, gesturing at the tatured armor pieces and armor rig.

"Missions? What are you, a Huntsmen?" She asked, sitting on Navarro's new bed without permission.

"What does hunting have to do with missions?" Of course he knew of hunting missions back during the Walk East days but people don't generally connect the two.

"No, not a hunter. A Huntsman, you know, a protector of the innocent, slayer of Grimm, and all that other bullshit. What the hell are you if you aren't one?" The young girl asked, her arms crossed and eyebrow raised.

"A soldier. I'm a proud member of the Enclave Military having served for almost a decade." Navarro explained to her, his back straight and head held high.

"The fuck is a Enclave?"

At that Navarro chuckled before glancing at the tent, knowing he was surrounded by raiders and their demented lives of chaos and blood. Yet stable enough to care for and raise children. Which is troubling. An adult choosing to become a raping, pillaging, mass murderer, well they get turned to ash. But a child who was taught and only knew that type of life from the start? They'll still get turned to ash if they did any of it but it's not without some pity.

However, right now, he had an opportunity to turn this young girl, maybe barely into her teens, at most, away from this life and became a proper civilized human being.

Wasn't this what the Enclave was all about from the start? To bring back civilization to a war-torn world? Before scientists deemed everyone but themselves as worth saving. Before the Presidents declared war against all of mutant America. Before the Enclave people themselves saw themselves as truer humans over everyone else.

It is what he wants-no needs to believe in now.

"I can tell you about us if you want. Maybe if you get through long enough of my spiel I'll let you choose which scar's story to hear from." Navarro asked her, his voice soft but not weak.

"I don't got any other shit to do today. So, sure, why the hell not?" She agreed, laying down onto her back into his bed, arms cross behind her head.

Navarro let a small smile crack before telling her, for the lack of a better word, the glory, both stained and stainless, of the Enclave.

As he began his story he was unaware of the bird that sat outside his tent listening in.

Enclave soldiers were marching towards the entrance, they all knew it was a matter of time when they heard the proximity alarm but the orders finally came that it was time to defend their home.

The hallways were packed with soldiers and radiated nerves, especially from those who saw the fall of Poseidon, those either too young or deployed elsewhere when the battle for their last home now ran with the most vigor to defend their new home.

The Devil Dogs were among them, after a brief stop at their rooms to pick up their weapons and cyber dogs, as well as gathering the equipment for the dogs already at the front they rushed in with the vigor Eden expected of such a passionate squad, while Colwell was often a source of controversy the president could see the results he brought just by the movement of his troops and once again was pleased with the decision to make the young man a general.

"Listen up!" The general In question said once his dogs arrived with the remaining forces for the defense, "Outside these doors are an unknown mutant species that have begun assaulting our mountain, our home. We aren't in DC anymore. We don't know how we got here, and we don't know how many of those mutant fucks are out there. But there is one thing we do know. That I know. This is our home. It has been our home for a few years now and was planned to be our home till we civilized the wastes. Those fucking mutants outside are not going to change that." He paused and looked at the soldiers around him, purposely for dramatic effect.

"The last time our home was attacked I was too young to fight for her and she fell. Now that I'm your general I intend to show these muties how one solider can fuck up someone's day. How each and every soldier in this room is a reason not to fuck with the Enclave! We are proud, strong, and we will keep this home safe no matter the cost!"

A cheer rose through the room at that declaration, the soldiers steeling their nerves and preparing for the battle ahead of them. "You all should have been briefed on the plan but I'll give you one more reminder, we have heavy weapons pairs going out with fire teams, heavy weapons push those muties back and fire teams keep the heavies covered, marksmen squads are going to escort engineers on the walls to make sure no mutant birds try anything while they fix the turrets, if you haven't been assigned to one of those teams you're in charge of taking up defensive positions by making a wall, and once we clean out more room make a bigger one. I want us to control the entire area around this mountain by the time we get the hangers back online, if any of you have questions ignore them and kill the muties." Colwell said to them all, he turned away from the crowd and looked at the gate, a half circle of his Devil dogs surrounded him with their cyber dogs at their owners' sides. "It's time to open the gates of hell and show those bastards that they fucked with the wrong people," Colwell said, Eden recognized a green light when he saw one and opened the main gates, Fenrir ran out with his Devil dogs, the joint teams followed and the army marched onto the fields of war.

The mutants were pushing against the skeleton defense dangerously close to the main doors, but the sea of black quickly was pushed back as the Devil dogs walked directly into them unleashing a varied array of fire as each of the members punched a hole into the enemy ranks, the specialized squads capitalized on this opening fire on the remaining bodies until they had more room to maneuver giving the heavy weapons teams room to unleash the payloads they were carrying, the first wave of heavy weapon operators began laying a thick layer of laser fire from Gatling lasers and before anyone knew it lines of soldiers were swarming out of the main gates of Raven Rock, a perimeter being established a few feet away as barricades were being dragged out from the main compound.

Once the first fortifications were put up a second wave of heavy weapons troops was being ushered to the front, this group using rockets to punch larger holes in the thinning sea of black, while the gatling lasers kept the enemy line back and fire teams kept any missed targets from getting too close.

Seeing the main fray was progressing well the camera shifted to the engineering corp and the marksmen escorting them, Merlin was leading the charge on the walls with the Knight squad coordinating AA forces, precise shots crippling the winged mutants that dared approach the walls where the enclave turrets were being repaired causing them to fall into their allies and disintegrate into the ground, tapping into their coms Eden could hear friendly competition forming between the marksmen, scores being kept as soldiers talked about bets and how they would collect their winnings. Deciding the wall was secure the cameras switched once more to what Eden wanted to see most of all, a thick cloud of black ash combined with the green tint of the cameras made it difficult to observe but Eden was, for the first time, able to see the Devil Dogs in combat.

With the enclave's front line developed and pushing forwards, Colwell went inside enemy lines, a common tactic of his according to the reports Eden received from Autumn and Navarro, and just like those reports would suggest his squad followed in. Eden cast a wide net in the field to see the location of each Devil Dog, saving the information in his databanks for later examination as he analyzed some of the fights in the vicinity. Sirius and Laika were fighting closer to the main forces of the army, Sirius was unleashing a torrent of flames from the flamer he carried while Laika fired grenades into the army of mutants, notably doing so where the front line of gatling lasers wasn't being focused on at the time.

Minotaur was fighting not too far away from the more obvious pyromaniacs in The Devil dogs, he was using a short barrel shotgun and his short sword and engaging the enemy in close quarters combat, mutants trying to sneak up on him were thwarted by his cyber dog who either alerted him of their presence or knocked the mutants around with her own body, upon quick observation all the Devil dog's canine companions were doing something similar, fighting with their owners and making sure they stayed safer than they should have in enemy lines.

And deepest into enemy lines Colwell stood, he was flanked by Cerberus and hellhound both of which were armed with Gatling lasers as they kept the mutants from sneaking up on them, Colwell himself was thinning the herd with a minigun, laying heavy fire into the mutants lines.

The sea of black was fading and the barricades were pushing further away from the front door, the enemy was pushed out of their courtyard as the turrets were back online, their fire rung through the air targeting the back line of their enemy and cutting off their escape, not that the dying mob seemed inclined to do so as they kept throwing themselves at the enclave until the last body was turned to ash.

By the time Eden received word that the vertibird hangers were operational again, the battle was completed and the enclaves enemies slain
