Steven
I was sitting at the table, thinking.
I've been here for half an hour.
I got up from the table.
I walked out of the Restaurant.
I got in my car.
I drove to the Van Der Woodsen penthouse building.
I parked on the busy Manhattan street.
I stepped out of my car.
I looked both ways.
It was clear.
I crossed the street.
I stepped into the building.
"Who are you here to see?"
"Serena Van Der Woodsen."
"Van Der Woodsen-Bass penthouse?"
"Yes."
"You are gonna go to the top floor. It will lead right into their penthouse."
"Thank you."
I got in the elevator.
"Hope to see you again, young fella."
The elevator doors closed.
I hit the top floor button.
Five seconds later
The elevator doors opened.
It was the Van Der Woodsen penthouse.
I stepped out of the elevator.
Lily was in the Living Room.
"Is Serena here?"
"Afraid you missed her, Steven."
"Where is she?"
"Charles and Serena are heading out to Australia. And then the Pilot is dropping her off in Paris on the way back."
"What tarmac is the jet on?"
"The third tarmac at JFK."
"Thank you."
"I think Charles is stalling as long as he can. So, you better hurry up."
"Yeah."
I got in the elevator.
I hit the lobby button.
Five seconds later
The elevator doors opened.
It was the lobby.
I stepped out of the elevator.
"Miss. Serena is at the airport with Mr. Chuck and Miss. Blair."
"Great."
He grinned.
"That would've been nice to know before I headed up there!"
"Miss. Blair told me it was a secret."
I walked out of the building.
I looked both ways.
I waited until it was clear.
I crossed the street.
I headed to my car.
I unlocked my car.
I opened the driver's side door when the road was clear.
I slid in my seat.
I shut the door.
I started my car.
I drove off to JFK.
Serena
Blair and me were waiting while the Pilot was gassing up the Bass jet.
It was on the third tarmac at JFK.
Chuck had grabbed all of our bags out of the trunks of the town cars.
Steven
I arrived at JFK.
I got through the gate.
You saw three people standing outside the Bass jet.
Serena's long golden blonde hair blew up because of the breeze.
She pushed it down.
"Or you can do what Lily does and just put it up."
"No."
"Okay."
"Serena, can I talk to you?"
"Uh..."
"It's gonna be a while until she's gassed up, S."
"Okay."
We walked away together.
Chuck
Serena had made food for the wait.
Steven
"I- I'm sorry. I feel terrible though. I hope you have enough to eat. I forgot you're gluten-free."
"I'll be fine. You know, I- I... I'm more concerned about you."
"Why?" Serena questioned.
"I eat everything."
She laughed.
"No. I- I'm talking about your idea to get together with Blair's ex-husband. You know, I- I know I hurt you but... I mean, this kinda represents everything you said you were trying to escape from. I mean, he said all those horrible things about you and your friends."
"Yeah. But he didn't say anything about me. I know that Louis has made his mistakes but so have I."
"Me too. The biggest being pushing you away."
Serena looked away.
"I'm still in love with you, Serena."
She stared at me.
"We deserve another chance."
Serena and me kissed.
"I am going to Paris with Blair."
I sighed.
"And if you still wanna marry me when I get back, you can ask me."
We kissed again.
She walked away.
"Are you done stalling now?"
"It's done gassing up."
"Excellent."
Blair and Chuck got on the jet.
"I will call you when we land in Australia."
She walked up the stairs.
