There was a knock on my front door.
I opened it.
It was Chuck and Blair.
"Can we talk?"
"Yeah."
I let them in.
"What's going on?"
"So, I have news."
"Uh-huh."
"Bart and me have come to a deal."
"And what deal is that?"
"I agreed to take over as Bass Industries' President if he convinced Serena's ex, Steven to get back together with her to stop her from marrying Blair's ex-husband, Louis."
"Louis?"
"The Prince!"
"Oh. That stupid Prince."
Blair laughed.
"And part of that deal was folding you back into the company too."
"Mm-hmm."
"So, you are stuck in Australia. I'm afraid I couldn't get him to budge off that."
"You did the best you could."
"And because he threatened to overturn the adoption."
"Ah. The elusive mother."
"Yeah, Jack."
"Mm."
"Lily is more of a parent than either of you put together."
"Mm-hmm."
"And probably because Lily told Bart about the incident."
"The incident."
"The incident where I shoved you off Lily."
I looked at him.
"You don't remember it because you were drunk."
"The opera. Shortly after Bart's disappearance. She had gotten together with Rufus."
"Not ringing a bell."
"You tried to sexually assault Lily. You're lucky she didn't press charges against you."
"It's not ringing a bell."
"Well, it happened."
"I'm sure it did."
"Mm."
Serena was outside.
She was on the phone.

My phone rang.
I grabbed it.
It was Serena.
I answered it.
"Hello, gorgeous."
"Hello, handsome."
"Who is that?" Sage questioned.
"None of your business."
"We hear from the lovely Sage."
I chuckled.
"So, I just wanted to let you know we landed in Australia."
"Thanks for letting me know."
"Bye. Love you."
"Bye. Love you too."
She hung up.
