The Luau Part 1

After she got dressed for the luau that evening, Anne went to check on Alan.

Alan noticed Anne wearing a hula dancing costume, seeing this, he couldn't help but snicker a little.

"Wow! Someone call Magnum P.I, Anne Chan has gone Hawaiian." Alan joked.

"Well, nice to see your cold hasn't hurt your corny sense of humor... unfortunately, and, just so you know, this was Stanley and Suzie's idea." Anne said to Alan.

"Oh, come on, it suits you, besides, remember the old saying, 'when in Rome, do as the Romans do'." Alan said to Anne, holding a sneeze back.

"We're in Tahiti." Anne corrected Alan.

"Well, do as the Tahitians do." Alan advised Anne.

"Oh, boy, the things I do for family," Anne sighed. "anyway, are you ready to go?"

"Sure, but I still don't think I can help with the performance tonight." Alan answered Anne, holding a cough back.

"I was afraid of that, well, you can still enjoy the luau, let's go." Anne said.

Anne wanted to mention what her new friend, Heirani, said, however, she didn't want to get her brother's hopes up, so she remained quiet and left with Alan to join the rest of their family and friends at the luau.

At the luau on the beach that night, the Pussycats and Chan family were having a ton of fun.

Once the poi was served at dinner, the Pussycat gang noticed most of the Chan children not touching theirs.

"What's the matter? You guys aren't hungry?" Josie asked.

"Ugh! It's not that, it's just, well... we're not too crazy about poi." Anne confessed.

"Blech! This stuff is not helping my cold any! I'm getting sicker just looking at it!" Alan agreed with Anne.

"Oh, come on, it can't be all that bad." Alan M. said to the Chan children.

"Are you kidding, Big Guy? This stuff is awful, just plain lousy! You know how lousy it is?" Flip said to Alan M.

"How lousy is it?" Alan M. asked.

Flip pointed to Nancy, "she won't eat it." he remarked to Alan M.

"And that's pretty lousy." Scooter said in agreement with Flip.

Alan M. was convinced, he shoved his bowl of poi, "Whoa! In that case..." he began.

Seeing Nancy refuse to touch her poi, the rest of the Pussycats all rejected their food, all except Alexandra and Melody.

"Oh, please! Just 'cause one kid doesn't like it, doesn't mean it's terrible." Alexandra said.

"You have been warned, Alexandra." Josie said.

Alexandra took a spoonful of poi, ate it, and was immediately grossed out.

"Yuck! Oh, gag! Gross City! Who on this planet could be stupid enough to like this glop?" Alexandra asked.

Alexandra's question was quickly answered by Stanley and Melody, both whom just finished sipping their bowls of poi.

"Mmm! Yummy!" Melody exclaimed.

"I'll say! Delicious," Stanley agreed. "can I have some more?"

"Me too, please!" Melody requested.

"You asked, they answered." Henry told Alexandra.

At that moment, Tom turned his attention to Alan and Anne.

"Are you okay?" Tom asked Anne and Alan.

"Would you please excuse me?" Alan asked.

"Would you please excuse me, too?" Anne asked.

Anne and Alan left the table because they just didn't want to be seen vomiting.
