Hello, everyone! As you may or may not know, today is Mother's Day. Which is why I'm creating another story for my One-Shot series. And what better way to celebrate this holiday by giving our great Goddess of Light a very special time with her little angel 'son' and all of his friends and allies from the Kid Icarus series! Oh, and also his brother. This story is dedicated to my mother who is very sweet, kind, and irreplaceable of my family. None of the characters here belong to me, except for my OC. They belong to Nintendo. Anyways, enjoy this wholesome One-Shot.

Palutena's Special Surprise

Pit's POV

Today is Mother's Day and I have a very special surprise for Lady Palutena. She is going to love her present Viridi and I prepared for her. She's been taking care of me ever since the first day I met her, and now I'm going to give her the best present for being the best Lady to take care of her servant for so long. Then I hear footsteps coming right behind me. "So, you're going to prepare something for your goddess, Icarus?" asked my brother, Lucifer. "Yeah, Lucifer! Lady Palutena deserves all the credit she did for me!" I reply with a bright smile. "But keep this a secret, because Viridi and I want it to be a surprise." "If you want this to be a surprise from both you and your girlfriend, then fine," Lucifer says. "I'll keep it a secret to make the surprise swell for her." He takes out his hand and I immediately give him a handshake. This symbolizes our promises whenever we want to keep something a secret or surprise whenever we find out something. After our promise we made with each other, Lucifer leaves the temple to visit our parents' grave. Yeah, unfortunately, despite having a good holiday to celebrate with Lady Palutena, my other brother is still not over the losses of our mom and dad. He tends to go to our abandoned house where we made our parents' resting places to say hello. I sometimes go there, too, but I prefer moving on with my life in Lady Palutena's temple and even visiting Viridi's temple for our free time. Speaking of which, I better go there to see how the surprise is coming along. I fly away from Lady Palutena's temple after giving her permission to go there with the help of her Power of Flight and later arrive at my destination.

Viridi's POV

I'm busy making the surprise for Palutena. Pit and I are working together to have it ready for the Goddess of Light. She'll be very surprised to see it with a big smile on her face. That's when I hear footsteps coming right behind me. "Hey, Mistress Viridi? Watcha doing?" Phosphora asks. "Oh, hello Phosphora. I'm making a surprise for Palutena since today is Mother's Day," I explain. "Pit is going to arrive very soon to help me." "I see. Why don't we keep this a secret to make the surprise...a surprise? Hehe,~" Phosphora giggles. "Of course, Phosphora. I can count on you," I reply by taking out my pinky finger. Phosphora smiles and holds out her pinky to shake mine. We make our pinky promise to keep this surprise a secret. I can't wait to show the surprise to Palutena. Phosphora then zips away from my temple to the Thunder Cloud Temple. You see, even though she said one time that she doesn't live there, she actually once lived there with her family and she is still living there. She only sometimes visit my temple whenever she wants to hang out with me and my commanders. Although, the only person who would hang out with me the most is Pit. I really enjoy his company whenever I feel left alone. That doesn't mean I'm not opened up to my other commanders, because they rarely take their time to spend it with me. But, honestly, I don't care at the point. If Pit comes to my temple to spend time with me, I would always have my heart filled with happiness. The thought of him makes me smile to myself. Then suddenly, I felt a pair of white angel wings wrap around me from behind. "You're thinking about me again, aren't you?" Pit asks, sweetly. "Well it's about time you showed up, Pit," I reply. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to arrive to help me finish the surprise." "Now why would I do that to my sweet girlfriend?" Pit says. "Of course I would always come on by to help you with anything. Especially when you want to spend time with me." "Well, let's put the finishing touches together. Palutena is going to be so surprised to see it," I say with a smile. Pit nods and we both get to work in finishing up the surprise. Palutena will be happy to see it. I'm sure.

Palutena's POV

Hmm... It's been a few minutes since Pit left my temple. He said that he was going to spend his time with Viridi, but I get a feeling that he's taking a lot longer than I thought he would. I sure hope he's doing alright, because I know him very well. Other than his brother, of course. Just as I was about to contact Pit to know what he was doing, I hear a knock on the door. Who could that be? I think to myself before arriving to the entrance door. As I opened it, I see a familiar face I always recognized. "Hey, Lady Palutena! I'm back!" says Pit. "Pit, how long were you spending time with Viridi?" I question with curiosity. "You never take that much time before." "Hehe... Sorry, my lady. We were just busy making something," Pit replies, sheepishly. "Hmm? What do you mean, Pit?" I ask and after I said that, all of Pit's friends and his brother all gathered around the both of us. "This is going to be good," says Hades. "Pitty Pat is one lucky little angel." "There's no way I would miss this chance to see what my brother has in store for Palutena," says Lucifer. I'm in complete shock to see everyone gathered around. There must be something very surprising going on here. "What's going on here? Who brought all of you here?" I ask. "My brother's dark counterpart did," Lucifer replies. "Pit and Viridi asked me to help them with the surprise. I was more than happy to comply," Dark Pit explains. "Really? What is this surprise you're talking about?" I ask. Pit then slowly walk up to me and holds both of his hands into mine. "Lady Palutena, throughout all these years, you've been protecting me ever since I first met you," he explains. "Whenever I needed help, you were always there for me and taking care of me. You are like my mom in so many ways. For that reason, Viridi and I have been making a very special surprise for you. Goddess of Light, I want to give all of my love for you as a friend, caretaker, and a loving mother." Viridi then walk up next to Pit and the both of them hold something in their hands. What I saw brought tears of joy to my eyes. I could not believe what I'm seeing. It's a beautiful cake with flowers, strawberries, and the words on it read what Pit says to me, "Happy Mother's Day, Lady Palutena!" I couldn't believe my eyes. Seeing this made me cover my mouth with both of my hands in shock, as more and more tears came out of my eyes. "P-Pit...! You did this for me?!" I sob. "Of course, my lady! I want it for the best Goddess of Light who took care of me throughout the years!" Pit replies. "You gave me a reason to be with you! You gave me a new life after my past was behind me. Nobody is EVER going to take you away from me. Well, despite the Underworld doing that at first a long time ago." That makes the Underworld commanders and rulers sweat drop in embarrassment. I only chuckle in reply. Then, I hold the cake in my hands and place it on the dinner table. After that, I walk up to my little angel servant, and hug him softly. "Thank you, Pit. I really appreciate all the comfort and love you give to me," I tell him. "I promise to continue making memories together until the end of time itself. You'll never change into something different. You'll always be the same angel servant of my army you grew up to be." I then give Pit a soft kiss on the cheek. "I love you, Pit. I'll always protect you from the oncoming struggles ahead," I continue. "I love you too, Lady Palutena. It will always be my duty to serve under your order until we part ways," Pit replies as he hugs me back. Everyone clap and cheer during the celebration, giving me a bright smile of joy. As the Goddess of Light, and Pit's guardian, it is my duty to protect him from the forces of evil. No matter what anybody thinks about us, my little angel will always be my "son," and I will always be his "mother" after his parents. Maybe his brother and friends can be with him a lot as well. However, nobody is going to replace me as his guardian. Don't worry, Pit. I'll never leave you until you grow up in the future to be more mature. Thank you...for everything...
