Hello, everyone. It's me! Today is a very special day, because it's my 20th birthday! Hooray! And two days after that will be Father's Day. To celebrate, I have a very special One-Shot which includes the Kid Icaurs characters from my very first story. As you know, I don't own the characters except for my OC. They belong to Nintendo. Just so you know, this story is focused on my POV the night before it started. You already know the disclaimer, so enjoy the ride!

Nickfredy's Birthday Bonanza

Thursday 6/15/2023 7:30 P.M.

*sigh* Another day, another new one coming soon and it's going to be my birthday! I can't wait to celebrate it with my mom. But, come to think of it, I wonder how all of my friends are doing with everything. Sure, Katerina and I have been texting each other to keep ourselves company whenever she's not busy, but that's just the case. To be fair, we both have our reasons to keep ourselves occupied. And it's basically all of our hard work we kept on going through in order to obtain our dream jobs we want to achieve after we graduate from Santa Monica College. But what's fair for all of us is fair for all of us. I'm not upset or anything. It's just a thought about what to do. Well, guess the only thing I have to do is to put on my PJs and sleep for the night. "*yawn* Can't believe it's been two decades ever since I came here to this world," I say to myself. "I wonder what will be next to obtain after I wake up to celebrate it?" After that, I go to bed and begin to sleep. That's when I start to dream something very fascinating I have never thought it would be real.

Begin dream

As I wake up, I realize that I'm not even in my bedroom anymore. I check outside and am shocked to see what I saw from out the window. "What the?!" I gasp and realize that I'm in some kind of temple...IN THE SKY! Now, I am fully aware that this is only a dream, but I never thought I would be in the area from the Kid Icarus: Uprising game. How the hell did I even get in a place like this in the first place. Well, might as well go with the flow and look around a bit. So I exit what appeared to be my "bedroom" and walk through a giant hallway. "Wow! I've never seen something like that in the game before," I say to myself. This is a real experience to know if Kid Icarus: Uprising had a Virtual Reality free roam fan game. But anyways, I continue to walk through it before I hear a whisper. "Oh! He's arriving! Quick! Everyone hide!" they say. "Huh? Is someone there?" I call out, but nobody responds. As I continue to walk through the hallway, I seem to enter a dining room with the lights turned off. I can't see anything at all! "Hello?" I call out again, but there still wasn't a single respond... Except for a sudden light that turned on quickly. The shock causes me to shield my eyes with my left hand. But once I put my hands back down, I saw something completely unexpected. The whole table is filled with lots of different fruits, vegetables, and in the middle is a giant cake. Suddenly, a few people come up in front of me and they say, "Happy Birthday, Nickfredy!" I am in complete and utter amazement from what I see. And, turns out, I recognize them. They are the characters themselves from the game. But one of them is my own OC I created for my stories. They did this for me! "You... You did this...?" I ask. "Of course, Nickfredy. We want to celebrate your birthday with you!" Pit replies. "You gave us a meaning of what message it tells about life itself, my creator," Lucifer adds. "We're more than happy to reward you for giving us another time to be with our fans and read our stories!" Palutena adds with a beaming smile. "Wow! Do you guys really mean it?!" I gasp. "Of course, you dummy!" Viridi says as I snicker with her personality. "This is what we made for you so that you can enjoy your birthday! We wouldn't want you to start the party by yourself, now would we?" "Guess not. I'm happy to have this thanks to you guys!" I reply with a smile. "Well, the young birthday boy would love to enjoy all the scrumptious dishes we prepared for you to enjoy," Arlon says. "The big boy will really enjoy everything we cooked up for him," Phosphora chuckles. "I agree with you, dear sister. In fact, I believe everyone else can agree with us," says Amazon Pandora. I look around the room and see everyone all gathered around the table to enjoy the big feast. They all nod their heads in agreement which brings a big smile on my face. I never believed that the characters around me would celebrate my birthday like this. This brings me to tears of happiness. "I... I never thought I would enjoy something like this..." I gasp in joy. "Thank you! Thank you guys so much! I couldn't have asked for a better time with all of you!" "Anything for the birthday boy!" Pit laughs in happiness. I then sit down in my chair and begin the first bite. The taste of the food is amazing! "This is so good! Let's enjoy my birthday together!" I yelled in joy. "YEAH!" everyone agrees and we all enjoy the party. They also started to sing, "Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Nickfredy! Happy Birthday to you!" This makes me smile with happiness as they all clap and cheer for me. However, all good things must come to an end.

After the meal was over, I found myself inside somewhere that seems to be empty. Everything looks all white. "Hello?" I call out, but nobody responds back to me. But then, I see a beam of divine light shining right in front of me. I could not believe my eyes on who I saw. It was an angel, but it really is... "My sweet little boy. Look how much you've grown," he says to me. The voice never fails for me to recognize immediately. "D-Dad?!" I gasp in shock. "I-Is that you?!" "It's me, son. I'm so proud of you," my dad replies back to me. "You're starting to make your dreams come true and studying really hard to achieve your goals." He wasn't wrong about what he said. I've been working really hard to create my very first story. I enjoy making it and it tells a message about life itself. After all, that's what stories are meant to do. "Thank you, dad. I enjoy making my stories to show the world what life really is for all of us," I tell him. "I think my very first one can be a success to me. Once I'm done with it, I'll continue the big series by making crossovers from other video games and anime." "And I think you'll do a great job!" my dad compliments. "Happy birthday, my papichulo." (A/N: That was the nickname my late dad called me when I was younger and I loved it.) He walked up to me and hugged me gently. "I love you so much, my son," he continues. I couldn't hold back my tears any more as I cry on his shoulder. "I-I love you too, dad," I sob. "Take care of mom for me," dad continues further. "I'll forever watch you and help you move on without having anything wrong going on with you. Never forget about the both of us. And...goodbye..." After we let go of each other, he flies all the way back up to Heaven. "Goodbye, dad!" I sob. "I'll never ever forget you!" After he left, a bright light appeared right in front of me and I covered my eyes with my hands.

End dream

I suddenly jolted back awake and realize that it was all just a dream. But at the same time, it felt so real. "I love you, dad," I say to myself. "And thank you guys for celebrating my birthday with me." Just then, I realize that today is the day where I get to celebrate it with my mom. I can't wait to tell her all about the dream I had. Sure, she might not believe me about the video game characters, but I'll still tell her about seeing my dad again after so long. After that, we'll go to Target to get my birthday gift. I can hardly wait to get the new Sonic Frontiers video game for my Nintendo Switch. This birthday will be the best on in the real world just like in the dream.

THE END

That was so beautiful. This has got to be the most heartwarming One-Shot I have ever written down. Speaking of which, the ending of the story is actually true. I got the new Sonic Frontiers video game for the console and I can't wait to give it a try. I've been hearing lots of positive reviews about the game and I'm going to see what it will be like to try it out myself. Also, if you're wondering about if I'll ever make other Kid Icarus crossover stories with other video games and anime; like Mario, Sonic, Naruto, Demon Slayer, etc., it's going to take some time and researching to make them as cannon as possible, while also including my own headcannons so that they can make sense. Also, I dedicate this story to my mom and dad for being with me all the time and give me a reason to move on no matter what it takes. They are the reason why I made these stories today.
