Chapter 2: Revelations

(A/N: Quick recap of the last chapter's ending.

Last time, Gohan and Videl met each other in Orange Star City, and they were both shocked to discover that they were both of Saiyan heritage/blood. Gohan and Videl give their explanations... NOW!)

Gohan tells Videl what he knows about the Saiyans, and what they were in the past. About how he was kidnapped by his uncle Raditz when he was a four-year-old boy, due to his father, Son Goku, refusing to join him; to a year later, when his two Saiyan comrades came to Earth to deal with Goku themselves; to how he went to Planet Namek to undo the aftermath of the battle against the Saiyans, (reviving his dead friends who fought against the Saiyans;) even to the battle between his father and the evil galactic emperor, Frieza. Gohan even tells Videl what he heard from Vegeta during his final moments before being killed by Frieza, that Frieza was responsible for causing the near-extinction of the Saiyan race. Gohan also tells Videl about the aftermath of the fight between his father and Frieza. That he survived Planet Namek's explosion with a few seconds to spare.

Videl gives Gohan a rundown of what she knows about the Saiyans. She tells him about what her father, Hercule Satan, had told her about her mother, when she was around. About how her mother was a full-blooded Saiyan, how and when she arrived on Earth, what her name is, that being Fasha, and even her whereabouts are: Died from a heart illness.

Gohan shows Videl sympathy for her loss. Videl sheds some tears due to reminiscing on old memories of her mother. Seeing this, Gohan wraps his arms around her, pulling her into a comforting embrace. Surprised by this, Videl chooses to remain in his embrace, finding more comfort in his embrace than she has in anyone else's. Gohan takes notice of this, and they both give a smile to each other.

They remain in each other's embrace for a few more minutes. After having time to calm herself, Videl asks Gohan a question that he knew was coming, but didn't expect the question so soon. "Gohan, will you train me? Now that I know the full story behind my mother's history, I want to be strong, just like her." Gohan thinks to himself, "She really wants to follow in her mother's footsteps, especially after hearing about the rest of her story. In a way, I think I'm starting to understand how Piccolo felt when he first started training me."

"Videl… Okay, I'll train you. I will say this, what I'm going to put you through will be difficult." Videl replies with a smile, and says, "I'm not going to back down from this. I want to go through with this decision, even though it will most likely change my life from how I know it."

With this confirmation from her, Gohan nods his head. Gohan also tells Videl that he lives in the East District 439 Area, (A/N: a few hour-long travel by civilian standards in Dragon Ball Z.) Videl is kind of surprised by this information, but after everything that she was told about her origin, as well as the full story behind her mother's past, she isn't too surprised. Gohan tells Videl that he'll give her a couple of days to make any preparations that she might need, as well as clear things for any scheduled things that she might need to move to a later date. They give each other their phone numbers, so they can get in touch later, and head off to their respective homes.

(A/N: Aaaaaand… SCENE! That's the end of Chapter 2. I couldn't resist not ending the A/N at the beginning of the story like the Dragon Ball Z narrator. Chapter 3 should come out sooner than it took for #2.)
