Disclaimer: I do not own Leverage, Friends or anything else you may recognize
Got this idea from Brainstorm Sorcerer so thank you to him for the help.
For 'Leverage' this is between Seasons 1 and 2, and for 'Friends', it can be any time after the first four Seasons, though before Chandler and Monica are a thing. Sure, the shows are in different time periods, but this is for fun.
This is not friendly to Ross, though its not too mean to him either, its more of a fun kind of bashing.
Rest In Peace Matthew Perry. We will never forget you.
Central Perk
"No one will move!" A robber was saying, pointing his gun everywhere while swaying, not steady on his foot. "Until I get what I want!"
Everyone was hidden here and there, and the man seemed to not be in his senses.
"Why did this have to happen?" Chandler was whispering to the rest.
"I saw a druggie kill a homeless man once", Phoebe said randomly. "It was very violent."
"What should we do?" Rachel asked no one in particular.
"I could take him", Joey offered. "But there is the gun in his hand and-"
At that moment, someone walked into Central Perk, a handsome man with long hair, and the robber, who was not in his senses, didn't even notice him, as he bypassed him, and walked to the counter, where Gunther was cowering.
The man did not seem bothered by the druggie robber waving his gun around.
"Black, one sugar, please."
He winked at Gunther, who seemed to get over his fear now, and actually started making the coffee.
The perp finally saw the man and yelled at him. "GET ON THE GROUND!"
The man was just annoyed. "Do you mind? I haven't even had my coffee yet."
Robber walked up and pointed the gun inches away from his head. Instead of fear, the long-haired man rolled his eyes. "Take that gun out of my face, okay? You're embarrassing yourself."
"I'M NOT FUCKING JOKING!"
His coffee was finally ready and placed on the counter. Casually taking the mug in his left hand, the man finally turned to face the robber with the gun pointed in his face, his pupils dilating, face twitching, sweat on his brow, classic signs of a desperate addict looking for cash for their next fix.
Sipping his hot coffee, his stare was steely before smirking over the rim of his mug. "Let me ask you something: what smells like crank and screams like a girl?"
The next movement was too fast for anyone to see.
His latched his hand around the slide of the gun, his pinky blocking the hammer from moving, turning it to the right before twisting the gun to the other side, the trigger guard trapping the punk's finger while the man only continued to look down and smirk as the once crazed criminal was whimpering like a wuss on his knees. "Right answer", he praised as he took another sip of his coffee, before breaking the finger, making the scream take a higher pitch until a boot knocked his head against the counter and knocking him unconscious.
Seeing that, everyone started rising up, awed by what had just happened, as the man sipped his coffee. "Someone call the cops, huh?" He placed some money on the counter, then finished his coffee before smiling at the people on the couch politely, and then he left.
The group stared after him, as Rachel said. "I'm in love."
"I'm in love too", Monica added.
"I am in love as well!" Phoebe had to say.
"I'm in love", Chandler said as well, then got looks as he realized what he'd said. "Did I say that out loud?"
"Let's make him our new best friend!" Joey then said randomly.
"I could have done that too", Ross boasted. "I have studied karate for a long time, and achieved unagi."
"Really?" Rachel asked. "But isn't unagi a-"
Ross started. "Unagi is-"
Monica cut him off. "Oh sure you could have done that, but would this be before or after you were done cowering under the table?"
That made the rest laugh as Ross was flushed.
Next day
The man was back inside, drinking some coffee near the counter, as the girls made love hearts with their eyes at his sight.
"Come on, ask him to join us", Chandler told Joey.
"Me?" Joey was confused. "Shouldn't you do it?"
"I'll weird him out!" Chandler retorted.
"I'm scared of talking to him!" Joey replied.
"You're an actor, act normal!" Chandler said instead.
"I'll go", Ross said as he stood up, doing a macho pose as Rachel and Monica snickered, and then he walked to where the man was. "Hey."
"Hi", the man said with a shrug.
"What you did yesterday, it was impressive", Ross started. "But I can do that too."
"That a fact?" The man asked, sipping his coffee as he raised a brow.
"I have studied karate for a long time", Ross immediately started saying. "And because of that, I've achieved unagi- a state of total awareness."
The man corrected him. "Unagi is a fish. For Karate, the term you are looking for is zanshin, a total state of awareness of one's surrounding. If you actually practiced any martial art, you would know."
He walked to a table to finish his coffee, but stepped closer to Chandler, who was busy talking to Joey, and tapped his shoulder, causing them both to turn and freeze upon seeing the badass.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"Hi."
"Hi."
"Hi."
"...Hi. You done with that?" The man pointed to the newspaper in Chandler's hand, making him snap to it before offering it to the man.
"Yes! Take it, and my wallet!...I think I should take that back."
"Probably should", the man laughed and took the offered newspaper. "Thank you." He smiled gratefully, before winking at the ladies smiling dreamily at the long-haired man before returning to his table.
"He is so nice."
"He is so handsome."
"He is such an ass." Ross was back on his seat. "He just said to me unagi isn't a thing."
"Well, he was wrong", Chandler said, making Ross smirk, until the man added. "If you were talking fish!"
Ross' smirk disappeared, Rachel agreeing. "Yeah, I think you've the term confused, maybe you should learn it all again."
"Learn it…what? No! I know everything!" Ross boasted.
"I wanna ask him out", Monica said, looking at the man. "But he looks so-"
"I mean, street life is one thing", Phoebe agreed. "This one is ano-"
Rachel shrugged, then running her hand through her hair, just walked to where he was sitting. "Hi."
"Hi", he greeted her.
"I'm Rachel Green", Rachel finally introduced herself. "You saw me sitting there-"
"Yeah I did", the man smiled. "I'm Eliot Spencer."
"Cool", Rachel had to say. "So, we saw how you took the guy down yesterday, it was so….cool! And smooth!"
"Thank you", Eliot simply smiled. "Got to say, how you approached me, that's cool and smooth too."
That made Rachel laugh. "Oh, you're getting smoother by the second."
From a distance, the gang watched the Eliot and Rachel talk, and the smiles on their faces, along with Rachel's laugh, along with the talk earlier, it led to a very incensed Ross.
"What is it about him?" Ross wondered.
Eliot and Rachel were on a date, reading their menus, as Rachel asked. "So, what do you do?"
"Just… a lot of odd jobs for people", Eliot shrugged.
"Considering what you can do, and how you can afford this place, I doubt that", Rachel had to say.
"Right, before that, I was in the army, and did a lot of other stuff. Some big things I got into recently made me some good money, so now I can just do odd jobs and afford anything", Eliot revealed, and that got Rachel's interest.
"The army huh? That's why you were so smooth", Rachel complimented.
"Thank you", Eliot said blankly, and Rachel realized he didn't want to talk much about it.
"Me, I just work in the fashion industry", Rachel then revealed. "I'm a buyer at Bloomingdale."
"Ah, I know who to ask for a fashion upgrade then", Eliot joked, making Rachel chuckle as well.
Later, Eliot dropped Rachel back at her place, and gave her a kiss on the lips that she returned, and it really made her weak at the knees.
Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe were there too, and when Eliot and Rachel parted, they greeted him with waves and 'hey'.
"Hey everyone", Eliot waved back. "Have a good day. See ya."
He walked off as Rachel, still really weak at the knees, clutched up to the counter and said. "My day was good while he was here."
"Not even gonna argue about that", Monica agreed, being able to tell what Rachel was feeling.
As Eliot was walking off, the door to the guy's apartment opened, as Ross snuck behind Eliot, his fist raised, as he was about to punch his head.
Eliot sighed, pushing his own elbow back, and it struck Ross' face, making him fall down as he screamed and grabbed his nose, making the rest of the gang peek out of their door.
Standing over Ross casually, the hitter asked. "Where exactly did you learn karate? The school of Seagal?"
That made the rest of the gang chuckle as Eliot walked off, leaving the whimpering Ross behind.
Few weeks later
Rachel had a smile at the coffee shop, and Monica and Phoebe instantly knew what that meant.
"She has gotten some great action last night", Monica had to say.
"Yeah, she has been wearing that smile since the morning, and its been more than half day", Phoebe had to agree.
Ross simply looked down into his coffee mug. She'd never been like that after a night with him.
Another week later
"So, its important", Eliot was telling Rachel. "So I'll have to go now."
"Will I see you again?" Rachel asked.
"I'm hoping we do", Eliot said with a sigh. "But, this was a great time."
"Yeah, best I had in a long while, thank you for that Eliot", Rachel thanked him, and then gave him a kiss on the lips that he happily returned, before they parted, and looked at each other one last time, before he left.
The gang was sitting behind Rachel, and except Ross, they gave him waves too, as he waved back, and was then gone.
"I'm gonna miss him", Rachel said as she sat down.
"We're all gonna miss him", all except Ross said at the same time
And done. Ross is my least favorite out of the gang, and I can see him behave like this.
While I love sitcoms like 'Friends', 'How I Met Your Mother', and a few others, a lot, in my opinion, 'Leverage' shows a group of friends who're like family a lot better than any sitcom I've seen, even though its a thriller con show.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with some other update.
