A View to a Skrill Part 2
It was already night, Hiccup and the other teens were looking for the twins and Blake with no luck
Hiccup and Toothless walked outside of the academy just before Fishlegs and Meatlug arrived
"Hiccup, any sign of them yet?" Fishlegs asked
"Nope" Hiccup said "The other riders have come in for the night, they're resting their dragons"
"I don't blame them, look at Meatlug, she's sleep flying" Fishlegs said gesturing at Meatlug who was half asleep as she flew, even some lava came out of her mouth
"I've got some provisions, I'm going back out" Hiccup said
"Wait, what are you going to do? Fly all night?" Fishlegs asked
"If I have to, yes" Hiccup said
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Fishlegs asked
"I can't rest knowing the twins and Blake are still out there somewhere" Hiccup said getting on Toothless' back
"You're right, we'll go with you" Fishlegs said but Meatlug fell asleep next to him
"No, looks like you two need to rest, I'll be fine" Hiccup said as Toothless flew off
Minutes later, they were flying through some thunder clouds
"You know, maybe we've been looking at this whole thing in the wrong way" Hiccup said confusing Toothless "Maybe the twins and Blake went after Spark. If we find Spark, we'll find the twins and Blake"
Then, Hiccup started to think where should he start to look for Spark
"What was that thing Blake told me Skrills are attracted to?" Hiccup asked to himself "Lightning, Skrills are attracted to lightning"
Toothless dived into the clouds but the lightning started to get attracted by all of the metal which was in Hiccup's leg and shield, and Toothless' tail, so he was forced to do some maneuvers to avoid them
"Whoa! Watch your tail, bud" Hiccup said just before almost hit his leg "And I'll watch my leg"
Hiccup pulled out his spy glass and began to look for Spark but he almost dropped it when a lightning struck behind him
"Okay, Gronckle Iron and lightning, not a great combo" Hiccup said "Get us out of here, bud"
Toothless started to fly faster avoiding every lightning he could until they were out of the clouds, but Toothless started to growl
Hiccup looked down with his spyglass and saw an island
"Outcast Island" Hiccup said making Toothless growl even more "I know, bud, but we've got no choice, we have to set down and wait out the storm"
Minutes later, they landed near the arena where a lot of Outcasts were reuniting
"That's a lot of Outcasts" Hiccup said looking at the arena "What are you up to, Alvin?"
"All I know he's planning something big with Thunder and Spark" a voice said next to Hiccup, it was Ruffnut
"Alvin's got Thunder and Spark? That's not good" Hiccup said before realizing that he was talking to Ruffnut "Wait, Ruff?! You're- you're alive?! I-I don't believe it. Where's Tuff and Blake?"
"They didn't make it" Ruffnut said sadly as she looked to the ground
"What!" Hiccup said in shock
"Just kidding, Tuffnut is right behind you" Ruffnut said, so Hiccup turned around but he only saw a dead tree
"What's up, Hiccup?" Tuffnut asked from the inside of the tree "Cool disguise, huh? Kinda itchy"
"Uh, yeah… but where's Blake?" Hiccup asked
"He should be back any minute now" Tuffnut said. Right on cue, Blake started to approach
"Okay, I think I now how to get into the arena but- Hiccup?!" Blake asked when he saw Hiccup
"Blake? What are you doing here?" Hiccup asked
"I could ask you the same" Blake said
"We got worried when none you returned, so we all started to look for you" Hiccup said "So, how did you end up here?"
"After the explosion I fell from Spark's back and landed in the ocean, so I had to swim all the way here" Blake explained "Also, the twins saw how Alvin captured Thunder and Spark, so they decided to follow him"
"Weird, right?" Tuffnut asked
"No! Actually, it was good you followed him" Hiccup said
"After a while of spying on the Outcasts, I encountered with Ruff and Tuff, and now we were just about to think in a way to rescue Thunder and Spark" Blake said
"And why is Tuffnut in that tree?" Hiccup asked
"He thought it was a good disguise" Blake groaned
"The problem is, he can't see" Ruffnut said
"Anyway, I wasn't able to figure out what Alvin is planning but I know he has Thunder and Spark in the arena" Blake said "I was planning to sneak up into the arena and release them before Alvin could do something"
Then, Hiccup laid down on the ground and pulled out his spyglass just to see how some Outcasts pulled Thunder and Spark out of some cages
"Yep, they're there" Hiccup said
"Yeah" Tuffnut agreed
"This is not good" Hiccup said
"No" Tuffnut said
"Oh, seriously? That's nothing new" Blake said "Tell me something I don't know"
"Yes" Tuffnut said
"Are you still mad about what happened with Spark?" Hiccup asked
"Maybe" Tuffnut said
"Of course, I'm still mad" Blake said "If you had listened to me, this could've been avoided"
"Probably" Tuffnut said
"Well, this also could've been avoided if you hadn't gone on your own for Spark" Hiccup said
"Yeah" Tuffnut said
"Oh, so it's my fault for trying to calm Spark down when you're the one who thought it was a good idea to force him into the water" Blake said
"No" Tuffnut said
"Blake, please, we could be in serious trouble" Hiccup said
"With capital 't'… no, 's'… wait, would you-" Tuffnut sarted
"Tuffnut!" Hiccup and Blake yelled
"I'll shut up now" Tuffnut said
"Hiccup, if you're still planning to send Spark away, you've got to thing in something else if you want me to help you" Blake said
"You know, I might've been wrong" Hiccup said taking Blake by surprise "I wasn't thinking straight, so we'll do it your way"
"Ruff, did Hiccup just say that or am I going crazy" Blake asked
"He said that" Ruffnut said
"When we can free Spark, we'll bring him back to Berk so you can train him" Hiccup said "That way he'll be able to stay"
"Thanks, Hiccup. I wasn't sure if you'll understand but I'm happy to know that you did" Blake said with a smile
"By the way, I've brought you something" Hiccup said walking towards Toothless and pulling Blake's spear out
"My spear" Blake said as Hiccup gave it to him "Huh, you just safe me from the trouble of having to attack the armory just for getting a weapon"
Hiccup nodded and used his spyglass to see into the arena once again but he saw someone he never thought he'd see again
"Wait, is that Mildew?" Hiccup asked
"Mildew?!" Blake asked "B-but I didn't see him when I was spying on the Outcasts"
Then, Hiccup said some Berserkers entering the arena
"That's weird, those look like Berserker soldiers" Hiccup said but then he saw Dagur "Dagur!"
"The Berserkers and The Outcasts together? This is worse than I thought" Blake said
Hiccup saw how The Outcasts were having trouble to keep Spark under control as he constantly tried to escape, he even shocked Mildew in the process. However, Thunder was just looking to ground sadly and didn't try to escape
"We have to sneak up into town and find out what Dagur and Alvin are up to" Hiccup said "Blake, is there a way to get in without being seen?"
"There is, but with the Berserkers around it's going to be harder to get near the town and we can't risk ourselves to be seen" Blake said
"Ruff?" Hiccup asked
"Outcast food gives me gas" Ruffnut said
"We didn't need to know that, Ruff" Blake said
"Tuff, looks like you're up" Hiccup said looking at Tuffnut who was now out of the tree
"You've got to get as much info as you can, if an Outcast sees you, act as if you had more authority than him, that way he won't bother you" Blake said
"I'm way ahead of you, they won't even see me coming" Tuffnut said as he climbed down the ledge but he fell, screamed and landed in front of an Outcasts "That was great"
"Halt! What are you doing here? And who are you?" The Outcast asked as he pointed his spear at Tuffnut
"Who am I?" Tuffnut asked himself before starting to get up "I'm… uh… I'm Buffnut. Yep! That's it! Berserker Buffnut 'BB' they call me. I was sent by Dagur to check your defenses. Yep, I've got to check them out, see if they're strong" Tuffnut said
"Oh, yes, sir!" The Outcast said saluting, he actually believed Tuffnut's lie "I'm ready for anything"
"Okay, good" Tuffnut said "Now, where's the big meeting? You know, to pow wow" Tuffnut said
"You mean Alvin and Dagur?" The Outcast asked
"Did you seriously just ask me that, soldier?" Tuffnut said looking straight at the Outcast's eyes "If you think I know the answer, you are sorely mistaken, mister. Did you just ask me that? I've forgotten"
"Uh, so do you want to know?" The Outcast asked
"Don't sass me, I'm still talking about whether or not did you just ask me that" Tuffnut said
"Alvin's throne room" The Outcast said "Just opposite the harbor. They're celebrating the treaty, sir"
"Awesome, ju-just stand there at attention" Tuffnut said, so the Outcast stood at attention "Straight back, a healthy spine as a happy spine
"Yes, sir" The Outcast said as Tuffnut walked away
Minutes later, Tuffnut was in a room near Alvin's throne room but he saw a table full of food, so he began to eat completely unaware about the conversation Alvin and Dagur were having near-by
"First, I get Berk. Then, and only then, you get the Skrills" Alvin said
"Really?" Dagur asked
"Yeah, really" Alvin said
There was a tense silence for a few seconds until Dagur broke it "Geez, Al. don't get your skivvies done in a bunch, it's okay" he said
Then, Tuffnut began to chew so loud that Dagur was able to hear him
"Who is smacking their food?! I hate smacking! My father used to smack!" Dagur said angrily
Dagur and Alvin left the throne room and saw Tuffnut still eating
"Sorry, I have when my mouth does that" Tuffnut laughed "Cut it out mouth, shut up nose. They don't like each other
Dagur pulled out his axe and placed the blade near Tuffnut's neck
"Who are you?" Dagur asked
"Uh, me? I'm, uh… I'm Buffnut. You know, Buffnut the Berserker" Tuffnut lied
"You're one of mine?" Dagur asked "What were you doing back here?"
"Uh, well, I was, uh, composing a poem in your honor of your new deal with Alvin and I got hungry, because poetry is very exhausting. Geez, you got to have a little something every six lines" Tuffnut lied
"A poem, eh? Let me hear it" Dagur said as he pulled his axe away from Tuffnut's neck but he pulled it towards Tuffnut's legs "If I like it, I won't chop your legs… now!"
Tuffnut didn't have a choice, so he began to say a made-up poem
"There once was a village called Berk,
Run by a big Viking jerk
Blasting him would be thrilling,
Then you'd go a-skrilling
And show us how to be Berserk"
Dagur didn't say anything, he just glared at Tuffnut who stood still nervously
"I… would go… a-skrilling?" Dagur asked but seconds later he started to laugh "I like it! You can keep your legs!" then, he looked back at the Berserkers and Outcasts "In fact, yak ribs and burly cakes for my friend Buffnut, but no smacking I hate smacking!"
Then, Mildew showed up with a plate but when he saw Tuffnut who gasped. Mildew tried to warn Alvin and Dagur about Tuffnut but only babbling came out of his mouth, probably it was the result of being shocked by Spark
"Oh, what is your village babbler going on about?" Dagur asked looking at Alvin
Before Dagur or Alvin could figure out what was going on, Tuffnut pushed Mildew out of the way
"Uh, so did I mention how much I hate Berk?" Tuffnut asked "Hey, directions to Berk! North 'till you smell it, west 'till you step in it. Am I right, people?"
Both Outcasts and Berserkers laughed but Mildew got up and began to babble again
"Great idea, babbler! A song!" Tuffnut said "I should sing a song, so…"
"Hooligan tribe, won't you come out tonight
Come out tonight, come out tonight
Hooligan tribe, won't you come out tonight
Or die by the light of the moon
Oh, by the light of the moon
Oh, by the light of the moon
Remember to use your forks and your knifes
And also use your spoon"
The Outcasts and Berserkers laughed but Mildew kept babbling, so Tuffnut had to knock him out
"Nobody likes a heckler" Tuffnut said making the Outcasts and Berserkers laugh even louder
That morning, Tuffnut was telling the others what he heard about the invasion plan
"The plan is to smash those dirty Hairy Hooligans to pieces with both fleets, it's going to be awesome" Tuffnut said
"You do realize that we're the Hairy Hooligans?" Hiccup asked
"Oh, right… still going to be awesome" Tuffnut said
"Two fleets and with two Skrills it's going to be pretty hard to beat" Hiccup said
"No, Alvin had been pretty clear. Dagur doesn't get Thunder and Spark until ager they destroy Berk. I think they have trust issues" Tuffnut said
"If that's so, the original plan of saving Thunder and Spark remains unchanged" Blake said
"You're right. No Skrills, no alliance. No alliance, no invasion" Hiccup said
"Tuff, you've got to distract the guards at the arena, that way it'll be easier for Hiccup, Toothless and me to get in and release Thunder and Spark" Blake said
"Uh, hang on a sec. I'm pretty sure Dagur threated to cut my legs off" Tuffnut said
"So?" Ruffnut asked
"Just wanted to get that out there" Tuffnut said making everyone look at him "Ah, fine! I'm going, and my legs are on your head"
Tuffnut began to walk away but he stopped when he seemed to realized on what he said
"But not- I mean, not- you know what I'm saying. You'll be thinking about these legs… if I lose them" Tuffnut said
Sometime later, Hiccup and Blake flew down to the arena, when they looked down at the edge, they saw two unconscious Outcasts on the ground
"Good job, Tuff" Hiccup said
"I must say it, it went better than I expected" Blake admitted "You go for Spark, I'll go for Thunder"
They entered the arena and Hiccup walked up to Spark's cage but for his surprise, it was empty
"He's gone" Hiccup said
"No… t-this can't be" Blake said, turns out Thunder's cage was empty too
Suddenly, they heard a noise above them, it was Tuffnut who was on the safety cage
"Oh, good. I thought I was too late" Tuffnut said as he jumped down "Nice job with those guards, by the way"
"Wait, we thought you were the one who took care of the guards" Blake said
"No, it wasn't me. Where's Thunder and Spark?" Tuffnut asked
Hiccup only showed him the empty cage
"Uh-oh" Tuffnut said
"Blake, is there any other place where Alvin could've put Thunder and Spark?" Hiccup asked
"The only place I can think about is the dungeon but it doesn't make sense, why would Alvin put Thunder and Spark in there if he and Dagur were going to use them to destroy Berk?" Blake asked
Then, they heard some voices in the distance as the gate of the arena opened
"We've got to go" Hiccup said, so they hid in one of the empty cages while the Outcasts checked on Thunder's and Spark's cages
"The Skrills are gone! Sound the alarm!" an Outcast said
"Tuff, you go get Ruff. Blake, you come with me, we'll have to find Thunder and Spark before someone else does" Hiccup said as Blake got on Toothless' back
Minutes later, Hiccup and Blake were flying around Outcast Island trying to find any sign on both Skrills with no luck
"Where could they be?" Blake asked worriedly "Skrills don't disappear like that"
"Is there a place where a Skrill likes to go?" Hiccup asked
"Well, Thunder usually likes to go to the forest but there's no forest in this island, and Spark… I can only think about a storm to recharge himself but he doesn't need it for now" Blake said
Then, they both looked down and saw how a Berserker ship was sailing away, but an Outcast ship blocked its way
"Going, somewhere, Dagur?" Alvin asked from the Outcast ship
"I go where I want, Alvin" Dagur said from the Berserker ship
"Not with out Skrills, you don't" Alvin said
"They're not yours, they were never yours. Hello! It's on my belt buckle. It's on my sail, my shields" Dagur said pointing at his belt, sails and shields
"We had a deal, Dagur!" Alvin said angrily as he pointed at Dagur
"Yeah, uh… about that deal, I've just changed the terms" Dagur said
Dagur cut some ropes that were attached to the sail. When it dropped, Thunder and Spark were revealed, they both had ropes warped around a leather collar each of them was being hold by a Berserker
Alvin growled in complete anger, he grabbed a sword and jumped onto the Berserker ship
"I'll cut you to pieces!" Alvin yelled as he knocked Dagur onto the floor
"Why don't you try?" Dagur asked as he got up
Dagur slammed his exe towards Alvin who blocked it, they both began to swing their weapons at each other until Alvin pushed Dagur into the mast
"Give me back my Skrills!" Alvin yelled as he charged towards Dagur
"They were never your Skrills, Alvin" Dagur said as he hit Alvin's chest with his shoulder "They're ours! They're always been ours!"
They continued to swing their weapons at each other until they clashed into each other, Alvin and Dagur tried to overpower each other until Dagur hit Alvin on the head, pushing him back
"Take that!" Dagur said as he kicked Alvin's face but he quickly recovered, he even was able to disarm Dagur but he dodged every attack
"You can't run forever, boy!" Alvin said before Dagur jumped onto his back and towards the Berserkers who were holding Thunder's and Spark's ropes
"Oh, I think it's time you do some running" Dagur said as he took Spark's ropes
Then, he pulled them down forcing Spark to absorb some lighting and shot a lighting blast at Alvin who dodged it but he also fell to the floor. However, he couldn't stay there because Dagur made Spark shot another lightning blast
Without having a place to run, Alvin jumped into the sea
"Tired of running? Want to try some swimming?" Dagur asked as he looked at Alvin "That won't work either"
Alvin dived underwater just before Spark shot another lightning blast electrifying the water
"Well, that takes care of that" Dagur said before realizing that Savage and some Outcasts boarded the ship "Savage, I have a one-time offer for you and your men. You can join me or you can join Alvin"
Savage and the Outcasts looked at the sea where Alvin had dived and saw some dead fish, then they looked at Thunder and Spark
"Your choice" Dagur said
From the distance, Hiccup and Blake didn't like what they've just witnessed
"D-did that just happen? I-is Alvin… gone?" Blake asked. Even though he didn't consider Alvin as his father anymore, was hard for him to not feeling anything for the man who raised him for so long
"That's not good" Hiccup said "We need to come up with a new plan and fast" Hiccup said before flying away. However, Blake looked lost in his thoughts, but this didn't do unnoticed "Blake, are you okay?"
"I-I don't know. I mean, I should be happy that Alvin's gone and that he's not going to be troubling us anymore but I don't know why I feel… sad" Blake said before letting escape a sigh "Maybe I should focus in the current problem"
Sometime later, the fleet for invading Berk was at the docks of Outcast Island
"The fleet is ready to sail to Berk, sir" Savage said
"Excellent! Now that this whole Alvin thing is behind us, we can lure Hiccup and his Night Fury into battle!" Dagur said
"Why wait?" a voice said
Dagur turned around and saw Hiccup and Toothless flying above him. However, Blake was nowhere to be seen
"We're right here, Dagur, me and my Night Fury" Hiccup said
"Hiccup" Dagur growled as he glared at them
"I thought we could settle this like real Vikings, just you and me" Hiccup said
Dagur was about to burst into anger but Savage noticed this
"Sir, don't let him bait you, we have the advantage in numbers" he said
Dagur didn't listen, instead he punched Savage out of the way, and grabbed the ropes attached to Spark
"Me and my Skrill against you and your Night Fury?" Dagur asked as he pulled the ropes making Spark face them "I like it"
Dagur once again pulled the ropes forcing Spark to shot a lightning blast at Hiccup but he dodged it and began to fly away, so Dagur followed him
Behind from some rocks, Blake saw everything. Turns out, he was waiting for the right moment to go and safe Thunder
"Hiccup, you better know what you're doing" Blake whispered before coming out of his hiding spot "It's now or never" he said before charging at the Berserkers and Outcasts in order to release his dragon
Meanwhile with Hiccup, he and Toothless were still being chased by Dagur, until they arrived at a canyon, so Toothless landed in one side and waited for Dagur
"Want to see the superior warrior-ness?! Just keep watching!" Dagur yelled as he walked to the edge
"Really, Dagur? I'm still here" Hiccup said "Fire, Toothless, now!"
Toothless shot some plasma blasts but Spark created and electric field blocking each one of them
"That's it? I was hoping for something more challenging" Dagur laughed
"So was I" Hiccup said before noticing that there were a lot of puddles Dagur's side of the canyon was stepping on, but then Hiccup realized Spark shot him another lightning blast, so he ducked in order to avoid it
Toothless shot two plasma blasts but they were cancelled by Spark's lightning blasts
"You have any last words?" Dagur asked as he placed his feet on some puddles
"I got nothing" Hiccup said before Toothless shot another plasma blast
Spark created another electric field in order to block it, but the electricity passed through the ropes and shocked Dagur making him release the ropes and pass out
"I really don't think he's going to be leading an invasion anytime soon" Hiccup said before Toothless dodged a lightning blast "Wish I could say the same for him"
Toothless began to fly off being chased by Spark
Meanwhile with Blake, he was having a rough time trying to rescue Thunder, he was constantly being attacked by Berserkers and Outcasts, and the fact that Thunder was being forced to shot lightning blasts at him didn't help
Just as Blake was able to get rid of a Berserker, he had to jump in order to avoid a lightning blast from Thunder who was doing everything he could to resist
"I can't continue like this, if I do, I won't have any strength left" Blake said as he got up
The Berserkers that had Thunder's ropes noticed this and forced him to shot another lightning blast, but Blake threw his spear at the Berserkers, so the lightning blast hit Blake's spear instead
The Berserkers saw the spear incoming and jumped into the sea before they could get shocked by it
When Thunder noticed this, he flew and grabbed Blake's spear with his mouth before flying towards him and grabbing him by the shoulders before flying off
When they were on a safe distance away, Thunder landed and left Blake's spear and him on the ground but he was more worried about his dragon
"Thunder!" Blake yelled as he ran towards his dragon before hugging him afraid that if he let go, he could disappear or be captured again "I was so worried"
Thunder closed his eyes and purred as he enjoyed the hug, he was also worried for his rider who let out some tears full of relief
Then, something made click on Blake's mind
"Spark!" he gasped "Thunder, I know you've been through a lot but we've got to look for him and Hiccup"
Without hesitation, Thunder nodded as he allowed Blake to remove the collar. Unfortunately, Thunder didn't have his saddle anymore, so Blake would have to ride him like that what could be dangerous but he didn't care, he had to find Spark
Back with Hiccup and Toothless, they were still trying to escape from Spark
"We need to lose him" Hiccup said before spotting an iceberg not to far away, so he knew what he had to do "I'm sorry, Blake" he whispered "Forget that, we need him to follow us"
Toothless looked hesitant for a moment but he flew towards the iceberg with Spark following him
When they were all close enough, Spark shot a lightning blast sending a huge chunk of ice towards Hiccup and Toothless. Luckily, they were able to fly between the iceberg and the chunk of ice
When they got out, Hiccup saw a cut in the iceberg
"Down, Toothless. Into that cut in the glacier" he ordered
Toothless did as he was told and entered the but with Spark following him, Toothless try to stay ahead from Spark but it was hard thanks to his lightning blasts
Then, Hiccup saw another cut in the ice
"Toothless, up there! Tight turn!" he ordered
Toothless was able to fly through the cut with Spark not to far behind him. Then, they arrived at a cavern where Spark saw Hiccup and Toothless with no where to run, so he charged at them but he slammed himself into a wall
Turns out, it was just their reflection "Good job, bud" Hiccup said before looking at Spark who was knocked out "I'm sorry, Spark, but you left me no choice"
They flew out of the cavern through a cut in the ceiling. When they were out, Toothless began to charge a plasma blast but a small explosion stopped him, Hiccup looked up and saw the twins
"Hey, why do you get to have all the fun?" Tuffnut asked
"Yeah, this job was made for us" Ruffnut said
The twins dived down and Barf lout out some gas into the cut in the iceberg, when he was done Belch sparked it creating an explosion sealing it and trapping Spark inside
"Alright, let's find Blake and then we can all go home" Hiccup said
They all started to fly away but Blake arrived just as they were about to leave
"Hiccup, what happened?! Where's Spark?!" Blake asked
"Well, my friend, Spark-" Tuffnut began
"Spark left" Hiccup quickly interrupted
"What?" Blake asked
"After releasing him from Dagur, he began to chase me and Toothless but after a while, I was able to calm him down using that dagger trick you used on him and Thunder" Hiccup lied as he gave a gesture to the twins telling them to shut up
"R-really? But… why would he leave?" Blake asked
"I don't know, I was about to train him when he backed away and seemed to think in what was he doing before flying away" Hiccup lied
Thunder grunted sadly when he heard that, so Blake gave him some head pats to comfort him
"It's okay, Thunder, I'm sure Hiccup's telling the truth, so I'm sure Spark is in a better place now" he said
Then, they all started to fly back to Berk but Hiccup couldn't help but to look back at the iceberg feeling incredible guilty for having to trap Spark in it and for having to lie to his best human friend
Hiccup only hoped that Blake never finds out in the future
A/n: Hi, I'm here with part two, I just wanted to say that the story between Thunder and Spark will be better told in a Day in Thunder's life, so I'll make an original chapter to tell it but it's going to take a while for it to be published
