"Hey, Dad…" Kaito sadly smiles, crouching down in front of a grave, not caring in the slightest if he's soaked by rain. The fire lighting the incense slowly being put out by the rain as the smoke billows into the sky, "I graduated."
"I hope you're proud of me—," he curls into himself, silently crying alone.
Someone unexpected notices, of course.
An umbrella is put over the boy, shielding him from the rain. Blinking, Kaito looks up, and sees Furuya Rei there, getting wet, a somber expression on his face.
"C'mon," Furuya takes Kaito by the hand and drags him away, out of the rain at least. Kaito sneezes, shivering from the cold.
"Here," Furuya wryly smiles as he gives Kaito his jacket, putting it over his shoulders.
They to a nearby cafe, getting coffee and hot cocoa to warm up.
"...thank you," Kaito whispers.
Furuya just smiles, patting his head. Kaito leans into it, quietly purring like a cat.
