A/N: Hidden reference to another warrior clad in armor. Can anyone find it and where the reference comes from? May not be exactly the same thing, but it is close.
Chapter 9: Yellow Beauty Burns
Yang blasted towards Ghor, fist pulled back for a punch. The armored giant raised a metal arm, blocking the attack and Dust discharge, and pushed back, sending Yang to the other side of the landing pad. Ghor then activated his forward shield and charged at Yang.
Recovering from the hit, Yang rolled out of the way and turned to the hulking robot. On the back of the mech, she saw an open exhaust port. Not wasting time, she fired a Fire Dust Bolt right into it, causing it to explode.
"Graaah!" Yelled Ghor before turning to Yang. This only earned him a blast in the face, causing him to stubble back. However, despite all of this, the damage was still minimal. Ghor activated his plasma cannons and fired at Yang, forcing her to dive out of the way.
"You really are persistent. Good, you will need that if you are going to keep up with your sister." Ghor said as he shifted his mech and fired a volley of missiles. Yang managed to avoid most of them, strafing Ghor in a circle while firing Dust shots, however the last one slammed into her and threw her into a wall.
"Come on kid, is that all you got?" asked Ghor as he looked at the dust cloud where Yang had landed. "The things that you will face hit harder than that! Are you going to just let them knock you down?
Yang was hurt, that last blast had been more than what she was expecting. The fight was not in her favor as Ghor was relatively unharmed while her Aura was down to 35% from that last blast. She was frustrated with the fact that the fight hadn't even been long and she was already getting her butt handed to her.
(Start: 'I Burn')
"Or are you going to get up, take the hit, and DISH. IT. BACK!" Ghor's yell shocked Yang. The words used by Ghor, to most people, would mean that they would get up and keep fighting. However, this hit Yang differently.
〜Come at me, and you'll see〜
Burn, her semblance, that is exactly what it was. With the more damage her Aura received, along with how strong her emotions were, the stronger she, herself became.
〜I'm more than meets the eye〜
Yang stood up, eyes closed as the smoke screen dissipated. She had lost Ruby once and now, when she finally had her back, there was the risk of losing her again, this time not to the Grimm, but to the Space Pirates that seem to want to kill her.
〜You think that, you'll break me〜
Yang opened her eyes, no longer the normal lilac color, but now blood red, and looked directly at Ghor. Right now, he was the obstacle between her and being by Ruby's side, being the sister that she had not been able to be for the past 10 years.
〜You're gonna find in time〜
Yang blasted towards Ghor once again. The mech activated his shield again, expecting her to hit head on. Instead, Yang fired her gauntlets again to shoot herself up and over the shield and then again to land a devastating punch to Ghor's headpiece causing him to real.
〜You're standing too close to a flame that's burning〜
Attempting to recover from the hit, Ghor blasts at Yang with plasma, however she easily moves out of the way and goes in for another hit. Ghor is able to block in time, however the force behind the punch pushes him back.
〜Hotter than the sun in the middle of July〜
Looking at Yang, Ghor sees her hair glowing. The glow is so intense that one would think it was on fire. That was also when he noticed something hanging around Yang's neck glowing as well. He did not have time to ponder this as Yang charged in once again.
〜Sending out your army, but you still can't win〜
Ghor blocked Yang's punch again, this time managing to stay his ground and push her away. Yang, oblivious to what was now around her neck, reloaded Ember Celica with Burn Dust shots and fired rapidly at Ghor, the explosive shots striking his armor plating. "I may not be as strong as Ruby is now." Yang admonished out loud, "But I sure as hell will not give up fighting by her side!"
〜Listen up, silly boy, 'cause I'm gonna tell you why〜
As the last word leaves Yang's mouth, she is enveloped with golden light. When the light subsides, standing there is Yang, fully armored in a modified version of Ruby's power suit, painted in her own color scheme. (looks like the basic power suit from Metroid: Dread in physical design)
〜I BURN〜

When Yang saw these messages appear in her vision, she was confused for a moment, then it dawned on her. She now had her own suit, and it looked like Ember Celica also got an upgrade.
Yang examined herself in her new armor. "Mama likey…" she said. She looked back at Ghor. "Shall we continue?"
"I believe we should." With that, round 2 began.
〜Can't hold me now〜
Yang blasted off with her gauntlets, moving at greater speeds than before. Ghor on the other hand had different plans. Releasing a shockway, Ghor stood at his full height, a sort of blast shield lowering over his face as he charged and fired a continuous plasma laser, rotating his torso to sweep over the entire area.
〜And you're not stopping me, I BURN!〜
Yang jumps over the lazer and tries to fire a Dust bolt at Ghor, but with the armor it does nothing. She is still aiming at Ghor when a new icon pops up on her HUD. A targeting reticle. The reticle roves over the large mech, following where the gauntlet is pointing, as Yang tries to find a weak point, locking on to multiple targets.
〜Swing all you want〜
As Yang dodges the plasma lazer again, she instinctively tightens her fist, activating a new trigger. A dozen micro missiles launch from the gauntlet with a whistling sound. Each missile impacted one of targets that Yang had locked onto, detonating causing Ghor to stager, deactivating the laser and forcing the blast shield to raise.
〜Like a fever, I'll take you down!〜
Yang blasted herself into the chest of Ghor, knocking him over, and began to hit him with punch after punch, each hit releasing a discharge of plasma. With each hit, Ghor's armor weakened and soon, with a final mighty punch, Yang blasted Ghor out of his armor.
(End: 'I Burn'
Ghor landed on the ground a few feet away from his ruined mech, one of his arms detached and landing nearby. He attempted to stand, but fell when his mechanical joints sparked in protest. Yang walked over, picking up Ghor's lost arm, and offered her hand to the cybernetic alien who took it gratefully.
"You really got me there, kid." Ghor complimented. "Your sister didn't take me down that fast, though to be fair, I was supercharged with phazon."
Yang smiled, "I'm glad that I was able to prove myself, you're a good fighter too." She then lifted Ghor's detached arm, "But I think you 'need a hand' in getting better."
Ghor groaned as Yang laughed. He took his arm and faced Yang. "You have passed the test presented to you by the caretakers of your sister. That suit is your reward. Use it well." With those words, Yang is once again blinded by light.
{The first passes, a heart full of burning passion. The winds change, as a shadow takes the stage.}
A/N: Short chapter, I know, but I hope you guys enjoyed it. Honestly, these trials are my way of practicing making interesting fight scenes.
Also, sorry if the idea for how they summon the suit sounds Power Ranger-ish. I was having difficulty coming up with an idea and I did not want to give them all Zero Suits as I want that to be specific to the true Power Suits.
If you can find the reference, good on you! I just thought it would be fun to add a bit of a scavenger hunt. I might do some more in the future.

SUIT UPDATE
Aeion: A powerful energy source from SR388. In this story, I am having it where Aeion is also a hidden aspect of Aura. That is how the two teams will be able to use it without have been to SR388. However, it can only be used while in a power suit. For certain abilities, if Aeion runs out, instead of consuming the suit's energy, it can deplete Aura.
Racial Traits: These abilities are gained by being part of a particular species or modified to have the genetic code. Not everyone has a Racial Trait
Friendly Fire Protection: All power suits are protected from being damaged by morph bombs, cross bombs, and power bombs produced by Ruby. Similar attacks produced by enemies still cause damage at a reduced strength.
Aura Points (Ap): Used to quantify Aura.
Yang Xiao Long (RWBY)
Base Stats:
Race: Human
Aura Points (Ap): 850
Semblance: Burn - Yang is able to absorb damage she takes. Based on how much damage her Aura has taken, along with her strong emotions, she is able to increase her strength drastically.
Racial Traits: N/A
Weapon (Ember Celica [Duel Ranged Shot Gauntlets]):
Plasma Impact: Can release a burst of plasma on impact
Dust rounds: Ballistic rounds made using Dust. Effect changes based Dust used.
Micro Storm Missile: paired with a targeting reticle/laser, allows the user to lock onto multiple targets before releasing a 'storm' of micro missiles.
Yellow Beauty (Remnant Power Suit)
Description: A less armored version of the basic power suit without the arm cannon, built using equipment found in a Chozo temple. Is able to crawl. Can be summoned using an amulet in the shape of Yang's emblem. Has Yang's color scheme.
Primary Defense Method: Energy Shield 850
Secondary Defense Method: Ap 850
Abilities:
Pulse Radar: Aeion Ability - A radar pulse that allows the user to see things that they normally would not be able to, along with detecting enemies. Uses all Anion per use.
Kinetic Absorber: Aeion Ability - Can absorb damage of Kinetic attacks, reducing damage, and then release the energy in a single explosive attack. Is only effected by Kinetic attacks, other attacks such as lightning get past it. With each hit taken while active, Aeion will decrease. Aeion will still replenish while active, however, if Aeion is fully depleted, the Kinetic Absorber will overload and be rendered inoperable until Aeion is fully recovered. After overloading, Aeion will take longer to recover than norma. The absorber will continue to store energy until it is deactivated, released in an attack, or overloaded. (AN: attacks that get past the Kinetic Absorber effect Yang's semblance as normal)
Aura Energy: The user's Aura effects the suits Energy shields. The maximum capacity of Energy is equal to the max Aura capacity. This can not be change with Energy tanks. A decrease in Energy does not effect Aura and vice versa.
Suit Upgrades:
Varia Suit Module: increases defense and protects user from high temperature environments.
Gravity Suit Module: increases defense, protects user from low temperature environments, prevents freezing, allows user to move in lava and water with no ill side effects.
Strength: More agile than the original, Weapon upgrades carry over when armor is not active. Has more armor than the other Remnant Power Suits but less than the OG Power Suit
Weakness: Does not and can not have all of the upgrades of the original suit.
