AN: Thanks for reading and leaving reviews everyone! Izuku's had quite the day, hasn't he? Hopefully the next day will go better for him.
Izuku woke up and rubbed his eyes. He had the strangest dream and was surprised he didn't sleep in until the alarm went off. Cracking his eyes open, he checked the time.
6:55 AM
"Crap!" Izuku's eyes went wide. "I slept in!"
Izuku bolted out of his bed and grabbed a mismatched set of clothes, ready to take a quick shower and rush to work. He was right! That strange dream did make him oversleep! He just forgot to set the alarm! And now he was going to pay for it - he'd have to hurry if he wanted to make it to the office by eight!
Rushing out of his bedroom, he froze the moment he stepped foot into the main room of his apartment. There on the couch was the ashen-faced girl in black robes. At some point she must have decided to lay on her side the way Izuku had demonstrated, and was currently laying there with her eyes closed, head resting against a pillow.
"You're real!"
"We went over this a few hours ago, Izuku," Ochako protested as she opened her eyes and pushed herself upright, looking at the human like he was an idiot. "I am real, and the events of yesterday really happened."
"I know, but- I thought it was a dream!" Izuku admitted.
"Not a dream, no," Ochako confirmed before looking around the couch. "I guess this vessel required rest after all. After reading for a period I felt sluggish, so I decided to temporarily mimic you. Now you are awake and yet I still feel sluggish."
"I'm still tired too," Izuku admitted. "Yesterday was a lot for both of us, wasn't it?"
"Yes," Ochako said simply. "And forming this vessel is taxing."
"Let me-" Izuku looked down at the bundle of clothes in his hands, "-I'll call in sick and then make some breakfast for us."
"Yes, you mentioned something about food alongside rest." Ochako looked down at her stomach. "That would explain the strange sensation in my abdominal region."
"That's probably hunger," Izuku explained, before he heard his own stomach rumble. As the adrenaline drained out of him, he realized how exhausted he really was. "Are you sure that me, um… anchoring you here doesn't have any negative effect?"
"Absolutely." Ochako examined him. "You may still be suffering aftereffects from the attack. You did almost die yesterday."
Izuku sputtered. "Don't- don't remind me," He sighed. "I guess I really should take a few days off to recover."
Thirty minutes and one phone call later, Izuku was plating a simple breakfast of omelets and steamed rice. Ochako, meanwhile, sat at the table patiently waiting for him to finish preparing the meal. As Izuku placed the food in front of her she began staring at it intently.
"It's not much, but it's more than I usually eat." Izuku sat down only for his eyes to go wide when he saw his companion.
Rather than using chopsticks, Ochako held the omelet in her hand and took a large bite. She had a thoughtful look as she chewed it slowly, before she smiled brightly. "This is delicious!"
Izuku stared at her in disbelief. "Doesn't that hurt?"
"Hmm?" Ochako looked at the omelet in her hands. "It is warm, but not uncomfortably so. Is it supposed to be hotter?"
"No, umm," Izuku rubbed the back of his head as he looked at her, realization setting in at the task ahead of him. "It's just normally you eat food with a fork or chopsticks."
"Chopsticks, what are those?" Ochako asked curiously.
Izuku picked up the pair of chopsticks that he had placed out for himself and held them up. "These. I gave you a pair as well…" Using his pair, he gestured toward the pair next to Ochako's plate.
Setting the omelet down, Ochako picked up the chopsticks and examined them, trying to discern their use. Face lighting up, she took one in each hand and then stabbed one through a piece of omelet. Using the other one, she sliced a chunk off of the omelet, picking up the speared piece triumphantly. "I see, this is quite a useful tool!"
Izuku watched as she happily took another bite of her meal. "Maybe giving you a fork and knife would be better…"
Ochako looked at him, at least having the sense to swallow her bite before she spoke, although Izuku wasn't sure if that was being polite or if because she was enjoying the food too much. "What are those?"
"They are other types of utensils," Izuku explained as he stood up to retrieve the items in question. While he didn't personally use them, he kept a few on hand for when his family visited - primarily his stepfather, although his cousin appreciated the familiarity when she visited him.
Grabbing a set, he offered them to her. "You stab things with this fork," Izuku said as he waved the fork. "And you cut things with this knife." He repeated the motion.
"I can do that!" Ochako said as she dropped the chopsticks on the table and grabbed the utensils.
When she did so her hands brushed against his briefly, and he had to gasp at the sensation. They both felt cold and clammy, almost corpselike. "Your hands!"
"Is something wrong with them?" Ochako asked, looking at them in concern.
"I-" Izuku looked at her. "They're cold."
"Oh, that is because there is no circulatory system yet," Ochako explained. "Even though I appear solid now, this form is still missing many things. Do not worry, they will appear in time."
"O-okay," Izuku said.
Taking a seat, the two resumed their breakfast. Ochako quickly figured out how to wield her new utensils and devoured her meal while Izuku ate at a more leisurely pace. When she was done Ochako sat there and watched Izuku intently. He tried to ignore it but felt the heat rising in his cheeks the longer those white orbs were on him.
"W-what are you doing?" Izuku finally asked.
"Observing!" Came the cheery reply. "I want to learn how to use chopsticks like you do."
"Oh," Izuku held the pair up, "are you figuring it out?"
"Not at all!"
Izuku sighed. "You don't have to stay at the table if you don't want to. You can go back to reading if you want."
Ochako shook her head. "It is alright, I would much rather observe you. After all, I need to learn how to blend in properly!"
"R-right," Izuku said meekly as he nervously scooped up a bite of rice with his chopsticks, trying to make his motions slow and deliberate for Ochako's benefit.
It took some effort to ignore her gaze, but eventually Izuku was able to finish the meal. He cleaned up from their meal and did the dishes, explaining everything to Ochako as he did so, and even allowing her to clean her own plate when she asked to try. She looked at him proudly when she inserted the plate into the drying rack, and he gave her an encouraging smile in return.
Breakfast complete, Izuku set off to take a shower while Ochako returned to the couch. Twenty minutes later, he returned in a shirt with the kanji for 'casual wear' on the front of it and a pair of jeans. Seeing that Ochako was still reading, he walked over to the couch and sat down next to her. He was about to ask her how far she had gotten when he felt a cold clamminess press against him. Looking over with panic-filled eyes, Izuku saw Ochako had scooted closer and was now leaning into him.
"O-Ochako?" Izuku squeaked out. "What are you doing?"
"I like how warm you are," Ochako said. "It is not quite as nice as actually bathing in starlight, but the warmth serves as a reminder while I am here on your planet."
"I-it'll probably fade once you get the rest of your body," Izuku said. While he had been in relationships before, nothing seemed to work out and he gave up on meeting anyone years ago, so he was startled by the sudden contact. "I-it only feels that way because of the difference in our body temperatures right now. A-and I just got out of the shower! So my body is even warmer than usual"
"Oh," Ochako said, and Izuku couldn't tell if she was disappointed or not. "Okay then."
"S-so how far did you get on these books last night? Before you fell asleep, I mean!" Izuku said a little too quickly and loudly, trying to change the subject.
"I finished this book," Ochako said proudly as she held up Izuku's book of maps. "I memorized the layout of the city and surrounding countryside, so it will be easier to navigate!"
"That's good!" Izuku said, relaxing slightly. "Anything else?"
"I started reading this history book," Ochako pointed to the book in her lap, "but I have yet to run across any incidents that hint at previous troubles."
"What kind of incidents?" Izuku asked curiously.
"Ones that are not of this world," Ochako stated matter-of-factly. "Or did you think I was the first of my kind to visit your planet?"
"I never really thought of that," Izuku admitted. "Do they come here often?"
"No," Ochako replied. "But there have been incidents in the past."
"So you're just going to leave once you figure out what's going on-"
"And I take care of it, yes."
Izuku bobbed his head in acknowledgement, both saddened and relieved by the news. "So where do you plan on starting?"
"I… do not know," Ochako admitted, a hint of frustration in her voice. "I had hoped that the voidslime I had been chasing would know something, but it did not. It merely found a rift between realities and curiosity led it here. After it dodged my initial attempt to capture it, it chose to follow you instead. You know the rest."
Izuku felt a sudden lump in his throat as he was reminded of the slime pouring down his throat. "I'd rather forget parts of it, though."
"That reminds me," Ochako put her finger on her cheek. "Out of everyone on this planet, why follow you?"
Izuku's face lit up. "Maybe it's because of that rock I picked up!"
"What rock?" Ochako asked quickly.
"Let me get it!" Izuku stood up quickly and Ochako fell over with a squeak, before pushing herself upright.
Rushing to his bookshelf, Izuku retrieved his mini safe and sat back down, ignoring the sensation of Ochako as she pressed against him and rested her head on his shoulder to observe his actions. Spinning the dial back and forth, he soon heard the 'click' that indicated success. Opening the door, he pulled out the tiny pebble and showed it to Ochako. "I found this yesterday!"
"Oh!" Ochako held out her hand, and Izuku dropped the stone into it. "This is indeed not of this world." Ochako pulled away to get a better view of Izuku. "Where did you find it?"
Izuku felt himself getting excited. "There were rumors of two giant people fighting in an abandoned part of town, and I found it there. Is it important?"
"No." Ochako said. "It is just a normal stone."
"Oh." Izuku's face fell.
"However," Ochako continued. "While it is merely a normal stone, it is not of this world - the stone hails from a different reality than your own. That means we can use it!"
"Really?"
"Really!" Ochako parroted Izuku's words. "Because it is attuned to a different plane of existence, it stands out, acting as a sort of beacon for other entities who have come to this world. That voidslime, for instance, must have sensed you and followed you because of it." Ochako smiled as she placed the rock on the middle of the table. "We just have to leave this here and it will attract the attention of other such beings, and I can question them as they arrive!"
"That sounds gr- wait!" Izuku held up his hands defensively. "We can't just leave this here!" He gestured wildly all around him. "It's too dangerous!"
"Do not worry, Izuku, I will keep you safe!" Ochako said with what Izuku could only assume was a hint of pride in her voice.
"That's not what I mean!" Izuku said. "There's - you could destroy this place if you fight here! And I'm not the only one living here - all of the apartments around us have people living in them, families! They'd be at risk too."
"But I can-"
"What if we're not here?" Izuku asked. "What if I have to go out and you're following me because of the anchor stuff? Or what if you're out investigating when something shows up? We can't take that risk!"
Ochako's face fell. "You make a good point. While I can monitor the area around this building, I would be blind the moment something entered the enclosed space." She shifted so she could look up at Izuku's face. "Where would you suggest we place it? Some place with a clear view of the sky, and without these families you are worried about?"
Izuku's brows furrowed for a moment before he snapped his fingers, his face lighting up. "The abandoned lot where I found it. It's open and spacious and people rarely go there. Hopefully it's far enough away from people that you can respond in time?"
"Can you take me there?"
"Mhm," Izuku bobbed his head. "When do you want to go?"
"Right now," Ochako said as she stood up, picking up the pebble. "The sooner we place it there, the better."
Thirty minutes later Izuku once again found himself walking across the broken and deserted lot. However this second journey felt different. Not only did he find evidence that something happened here, but the proof was walking alongside him.
"So this is where the fight happened?" Ochako asked as she scanned the surroundings.
"Yeah," Izuku confirmed. He gestured down to the far end. "It was near the other side."
Ochako hummed as she looked across the lot, before nodding to herself. "Yes, this will do nicely."
She took a step forward and Izuku followed her. Taking the next step, he felt like the ground beneath him simply vanished and he felt like he was falling, surrounded by a sea of stars. He gasped, trying to not freak out when he felt an increasingly familiar clammy hand grab his arm and pull him forward. Stumbling forward another step (how? He was in the middle of space!), he once again found himself on solid ground - on the other side of the field.
"W-what was that?" Izuku gasped out.
"I opened a rift to connect the two sides of this lot." Ochako tilted her head as she looked at him curiously. "Did I make a mistake? I made sure to fill the space with atmosphere from your planet so our bodies would survive the trip."
"N-no," Izuku gulped. "At least, I don't think so. I just- I wasn't expecting that!"
"Oh. I apologize," Ochako said. "It was not my intent to startle you! I just wished to cross the distance faster."
"Okay," Izuku breathed before he forced a reassuring smile to his face. "You didn't do anything wrong. I just - it's a little disorienting."
"Well, then we must practice!" Ochako exclaimed. "I can create rifts to any point I am familiar with, and they are very convenient when I need to move quickly. It would not do well if you were to respond that way every time I use one!"
"That- sure," Izuku said before he rubbed the back of his head. "Although could I get a little warning the next time you use one?"
"Yes," Ochako replied. "If it would help, I can inform you when I am about to open one."
"Thanks," Izuku replied before looking around. Finding the empty spot from the day before, he began walking. "This is where I found the stone yesterday."
"Yes, this should be sufficient." Ochako bobbed her head. "Plenty of room, the nearest human is hundreds of meters away at best, and an unobstructed view from above."
Opening her palm, Ochako released the stone, letting it fall to the ground where it made that strange unearthly sound as it bounced once, before coming to its final resting place.
"Now we wait?" Izuku said.
"Yes." Ochako let out a sigh. "I would like to investigate further, but there is only so much I can do while tethered to you."
"S-sorry," Izuku apologized. He opened his mouth to continue, but was cut off.
"Do not be sorry, Izuku," Ochako assured him. "If anything I should be thanking you! I am simply forced to deal with my limitations for the time being."
Her business concluded, Ochako began walking back across the lot, Izuku quickly catching up moments later. He walked in silent anticipation of Ochako opening a portal, but she never did. Eventually, he breathed out a sigh of relief before he looked at the woman. Even though her range of expression was limited and her eyes foreign, the feeling he saw there was one all too familiar with him. Frustration.
"How many of these err… missions have you been on?" Izuku asked cautiously, breaking the silence.
"Many," Ochako replied before looking at him. "And I will go on many more."
"Why?"
"There is a natural order to things, and it is my duty to keep things in balance," Ochako explained. "The beings living in this universe - beings like yourself, are fragile and their lives brief. But there is a beauty in what they create during those brief moments." Ochako looked skyward, a faraway look on her face. "I wish to protect those beings - to give them a chance to experience that beauty for themselves, and not have it taken away from them."
As Izuku looked at her, he saw a faraway look on her face. It took him a moment to realize that the expression may be taken literally with her, and that she very well may be looking at a distant galaxy. "So you want to help people?"
Ochako's gaze shifted to Izuku, and she smiled at him. "If you want to put it in such simplistic terms, yes. I wish to help people. Everyone deserves a chance to shine their brightest."
"It must get lonely though," Izuku said, sadness creeping into his voice.
"What is 'lonely'?" Ochako asked, stopping suddenly to examine him curiously.
"Umm, well…" Izuku rubbed the back of his head, "don't you ever feel like you want… someone to talk to? Someone to share your life with?"
Ochako had a thoughtful look on her face, before shaking her head. "I do not feel such emotions. For me, simply knowing that I have helped people such as you - and everyone on this planet, is enough."
"Oh." Izuku looked down. "I guess I have a lot to learn about you as well. If you'll let me, that is!" he added quickly.
Ochako gave him a bright smile, her cheeks shining brightly. "You are a strange one, Izuku. In all my travels, I have never seen someone so interested in me."
"Is that a bad thing?" Izuku asked meekly.
"No," Ochako said, her smile cooling. "I do not believe so."
As the two exited the underpass they saw that several children were out playing, shooting each other with squirt guns. Ochako regarded the sight with caution.
"Izuku why are they attacking-"
"Surprise!" Two teenagers suddenly appeared from behind a nearby dumpster and shot at Izuku and Ochako, covering them with water.
Ochako's eyes flared white as she responded to the attack, a pair of white lights appearing above her shoulders. They expanded, revealing the depths of space, before the image began to distort. As everyone watched, tendrils composed of the void of space itself began to emerge from the portals.
Once Izuku realized what was going on, he quickly intervened, jumping in between the two children and Ochako.
"Ochako, stop!"
"But they attacked us!" Ochako replied.
"It's just a game!" Izuku said. "They didn't mean anything."
"W-we're sorry!" the shorter teen said.
"We thought you were our friends!" the older teenager said. "We didn't mean to get you wet!"
"You are not hurt, are you?" Izuku asked Ochako cautiously.
"Their weapons would be unable to hurt me," Ochako admitted. "At worst it would be an inconvenience." She examined her companion, looking for signs of harm as she continued, "You however…"
"I'm fine!" Izuku said as he waved his arms. "See? Just a little wet! Just like when I got out of the shower this morning - except err, well, I have my clothes on now!"
"If you say so," Ochako replied, and upon seeing that Izuku was unharmed, dismissed her tendrils. Taking a step forward, she looked past Izuku and at the two teenagers, her eyes flaring white. "You must be more careful! If it was not for my anchor, your mistake could have major consequences!"
"Y-yes ma'am!" They both replied.
Izuku quickly looked at the two. "Just- please forget you saw anything!"
"We didn't see anything!" The taller teen said.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" The shorter kid added before they looked at each other and ran off, charging towards their friends to join them in their game.
"Are you sure everything is fine?" Ochako asked again.
"Yeah!" Izuku said quickly. "They are just playing a game! The guns just shoot water, getting each other wet. They don't actually hurt each other."
Ochako watched the scene, verifying Izuku's words, before bobbing her head. "I am sorry I misjudged their intentions. I had no way of knowing if their weapons were real or fake."
"You haven't seen anyone play pretend before?"
"I have," Ochako admitted. "But not in such a way. However I have seen plenty of children and teenagers forced to fight."
"That's… kind of sad," Izuku said.
"It is," Ochako agreed. Turning her attention elsewhere, she noticed several adults looking at them. Her cheeks lit up as she realized she had drawn more attention to them than she would have liked. "I think it would be best if we leave."
Izuku looked around, noticing the same thing. "Y-yeah. Actually, I've got it! There's a nearby market, let's go there and pick up some food!"
"But I am not hungry," Ochako said.
"You aren't now, but you will be later! I um, don't have a lot at my home - and definitely not enough to support two people," Izuku explained. "We can pick up new things for you to try?"
Ochako smiled as she thought back to the new experience provided by the omelet this morning, before she bobbed her head. "That is a wonderful idea. Lead the way!"
"Man, that's some costume work, your girlfriend an actress or something?" The butcher asked as he was packing Izuku's order.
"S-something like that, yeah," Izuku explained as he pulled his credit card out of his wallet. "She's more comfortable cleaning up at home."
"I get it, after a long day I just want to get home and hop in the shower myself," The butcher said sympathetically as he offered Izuku the bag. "Well, I won't keep you any longer then."
"Thanks," Izuku said as he took the bag and returned to the waiting Ochako. "I think that's the last stop!"
"Actually," Ochako pointed at one more shop, "could we stop there?" Izuku looked, and saw that Ochako was pointing at a confectionary shop at the end of the street, its tables filled with assorted sweets and pastries. "Whatever they are selling is visually appealing, it makes me want to know what they taste like!"
Izuku smiled as he saw the outlined irises in Ochako's eyes practically dancing in excitement. "Sure, let's get enough to last us the whole week!"
Ten minutes later, the pair walked out of the store with a large box of treats in Ochako's arms. "Thank you Izuku. I wonder what these will taste like!"
"They're all good," Izuku said. "They're sweet though, so you will have to eat only a few at a time."
"I understand," Ochako bobbed her head. "They are meant to be eaten alongside the meal, just like rice."
"Not… exactly." Izuku rubbed the back of his head.
As the two walked back to Izuku's apartment, he tried his best to explain the concept of desserts. After that, Ochako peppered Izuku with questions about the foods he had bought and the meals he intended to make, until they both heard a small child from further ahead.
"Come down, Kuro! We're worried about you!"
Looking at each other, Izuku and Ochako hurried forward to see what the problem was. Slowly approaching, Izuku knelt behind the child and softly called out. "What's the matter?"
"It's our cat!" the little girl said as whipped around to face them. "He snuck out of our apartment and ran. I tried to bring him home, but now he's stuck in the tree!"
"I can handle this easily," Ochako said as she offered the packages to Izuku. He took everything and Ochako approached the tree, only for the cat to start growling and hissing.
"Kuro, what's going on?" the child asked in confusion before looking at Ochako. "He's never done that before!"
Ochako looked helplessly at Izuku. "What should I do?"
"Come back," Izuku said sympathetically. "Let me try."
"Okay," Ochako said before stepping back taking all of the packages.
Once freed of his burden, Izuku approached the tree, and the cat resumed letting out quiet mews. Looking up at the cat, Izuku spoke calmly to it as he began to slowly climb the tree. It took several minutes of coaxing, but eventually the cat accepted Izuku's help and allowed him to grab it, before he lowered it down to the waiting child.
"Thank you mister!" the child said as she held the cat tightly in her arms.
"Now go take Kuro home, and make sure to close the door so he doesn't escape!" Izuku said warmly as he climbed down the tree.
"Okay!" the child said before turning toward Ochako. "Sorry Kuro was so mean to you, normally he's friendly!"
"I am not offended," Ochako said. "Now listen to Izuku and go home."
"Mhm! Thanks again!" With that the child took off, Izuku and Ochako watching as they entered the gates to a nearby apartment complex.
"Sorry I was unable to help," Ochako said as she offered Izuku his bags back. "I could have easily retrieved the creature if it allowed me to."
"It's not your fault," Izuku said reassuringly. "I guess the cat could tell you weren't, well…"
"I understand," Ochako said. "This form is incomplete." She examined one of her hands. "Until then, I need to be cautious."
Despite acting content with her explanation, Izuku could have sworn that he felt a sense of sadness, lingering just beneath the surface. Quickly thinking through his options, he finally decided to tap on the pastry box to get her attention. "How about when we get back to my apartment we open these up so you can try them for yourself?"
"Yes," Ochako said, smiling at Izuku. "That sounds delightful."
After putting away the food, Izuku turned to see Ochako still standing there, holding the box of treats.
"You could put that down, you know," Izuku teased lightly.
"I know. However, I was hoping to go somewhere else - if that is alright with you," Ochako explained, and Izuku wasn't sure if he was imagining it or not, but she seemed… nervous?
"Where do you want to go?"
"Someplace where we can see the stars."
Izuku's eyes bulged out of his head. "Ochako - it's eleven in the morning! We can't see stars for another nine or ten hours, and we'd have to leave the city."
"For a human, yes. However, I could transport us someplace in an instant," Ochako replied.
"Right." Izuku rubbed the back of his head. "I- yes, I'll go with you."
"Thank you," Ochako said before she tore open a rift in reality. "Follow me."
Izuku felt the sense of disorientation again, although since he knew it was coming he was slightly more prepared this time. He couldn't help but stare in awe at the space around him. It really felt like he was standing in the void of space, surrounded by nothing but stars. Behind him was a tear that revealed his living room, and several feet in front of him, where Ochako was looking back with her head tilted slightly, was the night sky and a grassy plain.
"I thought you said you would be okay if I warned you?"
"I am!" Izuku insisted. "Just - taking it in."
"You will have plenty of chances, our treats are waiting."
"Okay," Izuku conceded before he stepped through, Ochako closing the rift behind him. "Where are we?"
"Somewhere in North America, according to the maps you showed me," Ochako said. "Come, let us sit."
"I always wanted to visit America," Izuku laughed nervously. "Melissa would never believe me if I told her how I did it, though!"
"Who is this Melissa?" Ochako asked curiously as she lowered herself to the ground.
"My cousin," Izuku said as he sat down beside her. "Through my stepdad. The only relative of his that I actually talk to. She's a research scientist here in the US. We read a lot of the same books and share a lot of interests, so we've kept in contact. She's visited a couple of times but I've never actually come to America to visit her."
"I see," Ochako said as she plopped the box down on the ground and opened it. "Would you like to visit her?"
"What?"
"I can take you to visit her some day, if you would like," Ochako said as she turned toward him. "I would just need to gain a little familiarity with her location first."
"That's so- I'd get-" Izuku sighed. "Why would you do that?"
"Because you are helping me." Ochako tilted her head as she looked at him. "Is that not reason enough?"
"You could find anyone to help you though!" Izuku insisted.
"I think today proved otherwise," Ochako said, and once again Izuku detected the note of sadness in her voice. "Humans are more complicated than I imagined, and finding one who is as helpful as you - I am fortunate."
"Really?" Izuku asked in disbelief.
Ochako popped open the box and retrieved a treat - a red bean mochi based on the wrapper - before sliding the box across to Izuku. "Yes. I have so many questions, so many things I do not understand. You are willing to go out of your way to help me, and even want to understand me. That is more than many people would do, Izuku."
"I just wanted to do what's right," Izuku said as he reached in and grabbed his own treat.
"If that is how you feel, then I am glad our paths crossed," Ochako said with a smile before she turned her attention to her treat. Unwrapping it, she examined it curiously before she took a small bite, a shocked expression appearing as she tasted it. "This is really good!"
"Mhm," Izuku bobbed his head as he unwrapped his own treat - a sandwich filled with strawberries and cream filling. "The sugar and texture of these are designed to give us um… positive sensations."
"I like it!" Ochako beamed, her cheeks growing brighter as she took another bite.
Izuku smiled as he took a bite out of his own pastry, before turning his gaze to the stars. It was strange to think he was here, somewhere in America in the middle of the night with an eldritch being sitting beside him, but as she continued asking him questions, he realized that he was going to enjoy this strange journey while it lasted.
