AN: Hey guys, a trigger warning on this one!
Remember, these are still kids and kids make stupid decisions! I'm sure we can all relate and this one relates strongly to myself!
Look after yourselves and hopefully enjoy!
"So, apart from alcohol, what are you doing here Lopez? Finally ready to ride on the Puckasurus?"
Santana can only laugh in response, if only he knew. "Sorry, still not my type."
"I thought so, so tell me, what brings you to Casa De La Puck?"
"I needed to go somewhere they wouldn't look for me. I just broke up with Quinn." She mumbles.
Puck sits up, genuinely surprised, the girls have been inseparable since the Latina moved back to town.
"What do you mean you broke up with her? Are you crazy?"
"She thought I was cheating on her! She obviously doesn't trust me!" She shouts back.
"Oh yeah, did she have a reason as to why she thought this?" Puck quizzes.
"She had a photo of me and Kitty from earlier today. I was having lunch with Blaine and she came up to me, some unknown number sent her a picture of Kitty stroking my face."
"And you don't see why that looks bad! You know Quinn by now! That girl has less trust than anybody I know and she instantly trusted you! She's been through so much, she's waiting for this to go wrong, for you to give up on her and that's exactly what you've done."
Santana just looks down at the floor, unbelieving that Puck, of all people, is giving her advice on her blonde.
Or what was her blonde.
"Things got tough and you ran away." He finishes, but this snaps something within Santana.
"GAVE UP WHEN THINGS GOT TOUGH?" She screams, standing up. "I have supported her through an abusive home, an abusive relationship, a trial, I took the fucking stand for her! Her dad has beaten me twice and put me in hospital! Her ex-boyfriend has also given me two black eyes. I've given her my home, brought her into my family and stuck with her through all the nightmares! I have not given up on her once!" She breathes heavily.
"And do you think she's given up on you?" Puck asks in his usual voice, not at all fazed by the girls screaming. "Did she actually accuse you of cheating?"
"She didn't say anything! She literally looked at the floor the whole time I quizzed her." She huffs sitting down.
"So, she didn't accuse you of anything, she simply showed you a photo she'd received, one that didn't look good."
Santana just defensively crosses her arms over her chest, "She didn't deny thinking it though when I asked her."
"Because that's probably what she did think Lopez! Kitty is one manipulative bitch and everyone knows she wants to fuck you and Quinn knows that most of all! If you'd have been sent the photo and this was the other way around, I can't imagine you'd have received it well either." He tries to mediate.
Santana knows he's right but doesn't want to talk about it anymore, "Have you got something strong, I can't think about this anymore because she's probably at home crying and that breaks my heart?"
Puck just leaves the room and returns with 2 bottles of scotch, "Knock yourself out."
And with that, the two of them soon make their way through a bottle each and then through a case of beer.
It's now 11pm and Blaine, Quinn and Mercedes are extremely concerned about the Latina's whereabouts.
Blaine has just returned from the treehouse again, thinking maybe she has made her way there for the night but had no such luck.
"She said she was going to sleep with someone, she's probably with Kitty." Quinn whimpers out.
"Q, you know for a fact that is the last place she's gone." Blaine says sternly, knowing that his sister still wants to keep her appendage a secret, so she's not going to let the bitchiest girl at school know about it.
"Do you think I should call Mami?" Blaine asks.
"I'm not sure, do you think we need to?" Mercedes says.
"She's been missing for about 7 hours now! She has no phone and she's not in a usual spot that I would find her."
It's then that Quinn has another idea, "I know where she might be, we need to go."
The 3 of them head outside and jump in Mercedes car, "We need to go to the park."
Mercedes speeds off in that direction and they arrive within 10 minutes. They all clamber out of the car and Quinn leads them to the jungle gym, when they look underneath it, there's no sign of the girl.
Quinn retreats back and slumps onto the ground, "I've done this. If something happens to her it's my fault. I pushed her away. It's my fault." She sobs and Mercedes instantly wraps her arms around the blonde.
"It'll be okay, I'm sure she's fine." She coos.
"She was here." Blaine announces, retreating from beneath the jungle gym with Santana's card holder in hand, that contains her ID and bank card and a bracelet in the other, one she swore she'd never take off.
This only makes Quinn worry more, "What if she was taken from here? Oh my god." She cries, taking the bracelet from Blaine and holding it in a vice grip.
"Quinn, there's no signs that she's been taken so let's not jump to that. She wouldn't go without a fight and there is absolutely nothing here indicating that there was a struggle. Come on, let's go home and I'll call Mami." He says reassuringly.
As they pull up back outside the house, they notice that the porch light is on.
Blaine gets out of the car and tells the girls to wait until he's said that it's safe. It's unusual that the light is on considering it is motion censored and nobody is home.
He creeps through the back gate and can't see anything out of the ordinary, as he makes his way further into the garden, he can see an outline of a body in the new hammock, but it doesn't seem to be moving.
The closer he gets, the more familiar the body becomes.
He sighs in relief when he discovers his sister, asleep in the newly constructed hammock. What does concern him is the scratch across her forehead and the blood coming from her nose.
Blaine begins to stroke his hands through her matted hair, "San. San, can you wake up for me?" She doesn't seem to be at all responsive and so he checks for a pulse.
He is struggling to find one and when he does, it's extremely weak. Just then, the two girls enter through the back gate, "Blaine?"
"Girls she's here, call an ambulance." He shouts.
They both run over to him, Quinn drops to his side and takes in the Latina's appearance.
The blood pouring from her nose, the cut on her head and another beneath her eye. Her jeans are ripped at the knees and they are scraped, she checks her knuckles and finds scratches there too. However, it doesn't look like when she usually punches something, it looks as though she's fell over.
Blaine moves out of the way to speak to the operators on the other end of the phone, which Mercedes has called.
Quinn moves up towards Santana's head, takes her hand in her own and shakes her gently. "Come on lovebug. Please wake up. I'm so sorry. I need you. Please be okay. Please baby." She cries.
But again, the body is unresponsive.
"They'll be here in 5 minutes, I need to call Mami. Cedes, do you want to come to the hospital or are you going home?" Blaine asks.
"I'll call my mom and come with you. One of you will need a ride anyway and I need to know she's okay."
"Okay, I'll be back in a sec, do you want to wait on the front? They should be here any second."
She nods and runs off back through the gate and Blaine goes to call Maribel.
Quinn rests her head against clasped hands in front of her, "I love you Tana. I can't do life without you, please stay with me? Today has been so stupid, please don't leave me. I love you, I love you so much."
Just then she hears the sirens and within seconds the paramedics are running towards them.
"Excuse me Miss." The man says to Quinn so that he can have access to Santana.
"How long has she been out here?" He questions.
"We're not sure, she's been missing a few hours and as soon as we found her, we called you guys." Mercedes answers as Quinn is frozen in shock.
"Has she taken anything?"
"We don't know, like I said, we've just found her, she's been missing since around 4pm."
"Okay, we need to get her to the hospital now, her heartbeat is weak and her breathing is really shallow and she could have hypothermia. From the smell of her, I suspect alcohol poisoning."
Quinn and Mercedes look at each other in shock, Santana never really drinks much when they're at parties so they never would have suspected this.
Both girls know the only place she would have gotten that much alcohol.
Puck.
"Is she going to be okay?" Mercedes asks, knowing the blonde is dying to know the answer.
"We can't say Miss. But we need to take her now."
"Take her to Lima General, her mother works there. Maribel Lopez, she's a doctor."
"I know Mrs. Lopez." The female paramedic speaks for the first time.
Just then, Blaine emerges from the house, locking the door.
"Mami is going to meet us at the door. Quinn, are you going to ride with Mercedes and I'll go in the ambulance?"
The blonde just nods, walks over the stretcher, that holds the love of her life, kisses her forehead and leans down, "Come back to me lovebug, I need you." She cries and is dragged away by Mercedes as they all load into their respective vehicles.
By the time the girls arrive at the hospital, Santana has already been whisked away and Blaine is in the waiting room.
Quinn still hasn't spoken and Mercedes is now also worried about her.
The blonde walks towards Blaine and falls into his arms, sobbing into his shoulder. "I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry, this is my fault, it's all my fault."
Tears fill his eyes as he tries to shuffle them to both sit down.
When he manages to succeed, he buries his head in her neck while they cling tightly to each other, "It's not your fault Q. I promise, it's going to be okay." He cries.
Mercedes stands and wipes away her own silent tears, watching the two infront of her fall apart in each others arms. She decides that somebody needs to talk to Puck.
She dials the number and moves out of hearing distance from the other two.
"Go for Puckerman." He answers groggily.
"Puck, what the fuck have you given Santana?" She asks nastily.
"What the fuck Wheezy, at least let me open my eyes before the 20 questions start."
"I'm not fucking around Puck, what has she had?"
"What are you, like her mom or something? Why do you assume it's me?" He asks defensively.
"I swear to god if you don't tell me right now, I will come round there right now and remove your dick!" She shouts, moving herself outside.
"What is your issue? We just had a few drinks and then she left?"
"A few drinks? How many is a few?"
"I don't know Wheezy, why does it matter?"
"It matters because I'm currently standing in the hospital waiting to see if she's alive! Now you better start fucking spilling Puck!"
"She's in the hospital?" He asks shocked.
"Yes! She's in the hospital because we found her passed out in the garden and couldn't wake her up! She was near enough dead, I need you to tell me what happened." She finishes calmly, enticing the boy on the other end of the phone to answer her.
"She came around, upset about breaking up with Quinn. She wanted a drink, we talked for a while and then we finished a bottle of scotch each, then we opened a case of beers.
Everything after that gets a little hazy, when I came back from the bathroom, she was asleep, so I left her there for a while, while I watched TV.
She woke up and told me she needed to go home so that she could sort things with Quinn and then she left. That's all I remember, everything in between is blurry right now."
"What about her cuts? Where did they come from?" She questions.
"I don't know anything about cuts, she didn't have them when she left here." He answers, scared for his friend.
"She has gashes on her head and under her eye. Her knees are scraped and her knuckles are scratched, I don't know if there was any other injuries."
"Mercedes, she definitely didn't have them when she left here, I promise." He pleads.
"Okay, but if I find out you're lying and you hurt her, I swear to god Noah-"
"It wasn't me, I swear. I wouldn't do that to her, I actually like her, she's cool."
"I need to go, Quinn and Blaine are a wreck and we're waiting for news. Goodbye Puck."
"Mercedes," he shouts before she disconnects the call, "Let me know if she's okay, I'm sorry."
"Okay." She says before ending the call and going back into the waiting room. She decides not to share this information with the two in the waiting room as she doesn't want to worry them more, but she will tell Mari when she eventually gets out here.
It's another 3 hours before any doctors come to address them with news. Quinn is still snuggled into Blaine's arms, she almost feels as protected with him as she does her Tana, but not quite.
Blaine is asleep, with his head resting on top of the blondes and Mercedes is to her other side, holding a pale hand, stroking it in a calming manner.
As soon as Mari walks through the doors, the two girls jump to their feet, waking Blaine in the process who also stands.
They take in their mothers appearance and she looks awful. She appears tired and exhausted and she has dried tear marks, something that makes the three of them extremely uneasy.
"Sit." She says and the three of them sit back down, leaving a chair between Quinn and Blaine for Maribel.
Blaine instantly leans into his mothers shoulder, as the older Latina rests her other arm around the blondes shoulder, with the hand finding placement on Mercedes's shoulder.
"Come on Mami. Is she alive?" Blaine pleads.
Maribel nods slightly as she breaks down, tears flooding her face and sobs wracking her body. The three teens wrap themselves around her, letting their tears fall too.
After a minute or so, Mari regains composure and they all pull back, "She's stable, she had a seizure and flatlined twice but she's still here and we don't think any affects will be permanent."
All three feel instant relief and Quinn clings to Mari as if she's her lifeline. Maribel wraps her in her arms and kisses the top of Quinn's head. "She's still here baby girl, it's okay."
"It's all my fault Mama, we had an argument and we broke up and then this happened. It's all my fault, you should hate me." She cries.
"I don't know what happened Mija, but it is not your fault. Knowing my daughter, she stormed out on you, right?" She feels a small nod against her chest, so she continues, "Then it's not your fault, she made this decision. We just need to help her through it. Was it her that broke up with you?" She asks softly, to which she feels another nod, "Then she's drank because she instantly regretted it and was too proud to come back and beg for forgiveness. It's not your fault Mija, don't you dare put this on yourself." She finishes, letting a tear slip.
Quinn continues to silently sob into her, Blaine announces he needs to walk and is going to get some coffee for everyone, Mercedes volunteering to go with him, leaving Mari and Quinn.
"Look at me Quinn." Mari pleads, as hazel eyes meet her own.
"I still love you, I don't blame you for this and you shouldn't blame yourself. My Santana can be rash and stubborn. She loves you and she will plead with you to forgive her, knowing that after this little stunt, she doesn't deserve it.
I know that you want to scream at her right now, I'm sure we all do, I want her to know how much she's hurt you, hurt all of us, so that she doesn't do it again but all I ask is you give her a few days to recover before you do.
Take your time to consider what you want before you tell her. Make your decision for you, not for her." Maribel finishes with another kiss to her head.
"I want to be with her Mama. More than anything. But I can't watch her keep hurting herself on this self-destructive path." Quinn whimpers.
Maribel decides it's time she took control of the situation, "I will make sure she doesn't. She won't make it into the army if she carries on like this. It's why she'll be assigned to a therapist. I want you both to go to a therapist."
Quinn pulls out of the embrace and looks into the eyes of her mother-figure sharply.
"You need it as much as she does Mija. I promise it will make you feel better and if after a few sessions, you don't feel like it's helping, then you'll stop. But as long as you're under my roof, you are both doing this. I want what's best for you, I love you both too much for this to happen again."
Quinn just nods, she knows that Maribel is right and won't back down from this. If they're going to be together, they need to let go of the past so that they can work on their future.
With that, the other two return and Maribel goes back to work and they make theirselves comfortable. They have a long night ahead of them.
