Santana let's Quinn nap for around half an hour before deciding that she's not going to sleep and needs to move.
She lifts her girlfriend up from under thighs and her now flaccid penis flops out back between her legs, still drenched.
Quinn groans in her sleep as Santana lays her down gently on the opposite side of the bed and the blonde begins to stir. "Don't go Tana." She mumbles, reaching across expecting to come into contact with another body.
Santana grabs some shorts and a t-shirt and sits on the end of the bed, kissing Quinn's forehead, "I'm just going to put these shorts and tee on you baby, then you can go back to sleep."
She grabs a tissue and wipes the inside of Quinn's thighs where their combined juices have settled as she doesn't want her to be uncomfortable and sticky, she slips the shorts on after and Quinn is half-compliant when sitting up and putting the t-shirt on.
"Cuddle me please?" She asks cutely and Santana doesn't have the heart to go, so she grabs her own t-shirt and shorts, slips them on and manoeuvres Quinn beneath the quilt. She shuffles in behind her and wraps an arm around her tiny waist, feeling her relax.
She waits around ten minutes until she's certain Quinn is asleep and sneaks out of the room, heading into the bathroom for a quick shower.
When she leaves the bathroom, she can hear someone moving in the kitchen, so she heads in that direction and she finds Mercedes cooking.
"Hey Cedes."
"Hey girl." Mercedes replies, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. "You two have had a long nap." She says before bursting out laughing, not even able to keep a straight face.
Santana chuckles along, knowing that there's no way no one heard them. "You might be able to say that to me, but if you say that to Q, she'll never let me touch her again, don't do that to a sister." She says causing Cedes to roar with laughter.
"That's so true. We'll keep it between us."
Santana hops up to sit on the counter beside where Cedes is cooking. "Have them two sorted their issues?" Santana asks curiously.
"I told them it needed to be sorted by the time dinner is ready and left them to it. But the shouting died off pretty quick and then I heard them going into their room but definitely didn't hear the sort of noises in there that I did coming from yours." She begins laughing again, which causes Santana to blush.
"I'm never going to live this down, am I?"
"Sorry S. If I can't say it to Quinn, you're getting it all."
"I guess I'll take it." Santana laughs. "Hey, Cedes. Now I've got you alone I need to talk to you about something." She says seriously causing Cedes to give her her full attention.
"Okay, let me finish this and I'll meet you in the living room in like two minutes?" She says placing the food in the oven to keep it warm.
Santana nods and jumps off the counter, slipping back into their room to get the envelopes she needs from her bedside draw. She moves stealthily as not to wake Quinn and heads back towards the living room.
She heads in and sits across from Cedes who is already sitting on the couch.
The black girl sits patiently, watching Santana hype herself up for what she's about to say. Finally, she looks up from the envelope she holds in her hands.
"Normally I would have this conversation with Q, but I know that she'll just shut off and scream at me so I'm choosing you because I trust you."
Mercedes nods along, unsure of where this is going.
"In this envelope is everything that you'll need in case.." She pauses, "well you know. In case I don't come home. It's highly recommended that you have all this sorted when you sign up to the army, so it's my will, my funeral plan, you know, all that stuff."
She looks up and into Mercedes eyes and she can tell that she's listening intently, that she knows how important this is.
"There's letters too, for Q, Mami, Blaine, you and Kurt. I just.. someone needs to have it, know where it all is, just-" Santana sighs not sure of what to actually say.
Mercedes sees that Santana is struggling with her wording but fully understands the severity of the situation that Santana is trusting her with, so she pulls her in to a tight hug.
"It's gonna be okay San. I'll look after her, you'll be back before you know it. Everything's gonna be fine." Cedes whispers reassuringly.
"Thank you." Santana mumbles back, muffled by the shoulder her head is buried in. She sits up to ask Mercedes her final request. "I set up another bank account with some savings in. This is the card for it." She pauses, pulling the card from her pocket and handing it over. "I don't want Q worrying about money or trying to get ridiculous jobs to pay for the apartment, so if she needs anything, can you use this please? I know she'll tell me 'no' if I give it to her. And if she ever sees anything she wants, I don't care about the cost, can you get it please and it'll be like a birthday or a Christmas present or something?" When she finishes speaking, she has teary eyes.
"Don't worry girl, I got you. She won't be doing any crazy night time jobs. I'll make sure, everything's gonna be fine here." Cedes says, reaching over to grab Santana's hand, giving her a small squeeze.
Santana nods in response, before they hear a door open and footsteps, causing Cedes to get up with the envelope and card given to her and move in the direction of her bedroom to put them safely away.
Soon, Quinn appears rubbing the sleep from her eyes and Santana wipes the tears subtly from her own. The blonde sits on her lap and gives her a small kiss, when she pulls back, she notices the red tinge to her girlfriend's eyes.
"What's wrong lovebug?" She asks, cupping tanned cheeks.
Santana gives her a weak smile and shakes her head, "Nothing my darling. Everything's fine."
"Are you sure?" Quinn asks inquisitively, manoeuvring to straddle Santana's thighs to give her her full attention.
"Yeah" The Latina sighs and presses her lips to Quinn's forehead. "I'm good, I promise. I just had a really good chat with Cedes, that's all."
Quinn can sense that there is something more but knows if it was important Santana would tell her. "Want a cuddle?"
Santana chuckles and nods her head, embracing Quinn tightly when she presses their fronts together and wraps her arms around her neck.
They both bury their faces in the crook of the others neck and lay there, cherishing the feeling of the other.
"I love you." Santana whispers, which makes Quinn smile shyly and hold her a little tighter.
"I love you too Tana. So much."
Mercedes re-enters the room and asks them if they want some food. Quinn jumps from Santana's lap and runs for a quick shower before they all sit down to eat, including Blaine and Kurt.
After they finished eating, Santana and Quinn starting the washing up when the boys entered the kitchen.
"Santana, can I talk to you please?" Kurt asks and looks down at his feet.
Santana looks at Quinn subtly who gives her a nod and Blaine takes her position at the sink, continuing to help Quinn, whilst the other two head towards the living room.
The sit on opposite ends of the couch and as soon as they perch, Kurt blurts out, "I'm so sorry about what I said earlier. I know this isn't easy for the two of you and I definitely shouldn't have screamed at you. I'm so sorry."
Santana shuffles over and places her hand on Kurt's slumped shoulder, "It's okay. No hard feelings." She smiles and receives one in return. Kurt leans in for a hug and she reciprocates it shortly. "Just so you know, me and Blaine, we both know how it feels to be left. I lost my Papi and B lost both parents to this job."
"I never thought about it like that, I'm so sorry." Kurt mumbles.
"No more apologies, it's alright. I just want one last good night and day. Just don't be too hard on him over the next week, he's struggling just as much. Trust me." Santana explains with a sad smile and it's at that point Kurt realises that this is hard for the soldiers, he'd always assumed they were so out of touch with their emotions but he's now seeing that that definitely isn't the case.
Santana gets up and let's Kurt know she's going to bed and makes her way to her room. She turns on the TV and watches re-runs of 'Friends' until Quinn enters the room around half way through her second episode.
The blonde approaches the bed cautiously before perching on the end and looking at her girlfriend, "Are you okay?"
"I'm just tired baby love. I think I'm just gonna get ready for bed and lie here until I fall asleep." The Latina says, before moving off the bed to get changed.
"Can I join you or do you want to be alone?" Quinn asks insecurely.
Santana crosses the room and pulls Quinn into her arms, one arm across her shoulder and the other cupping around her cheek, whilst the blonde lays her head on her shoulder and wraps her arms around her waist. The brunette presses her lips to the top of Quinn's head and leaves them their before humming, "You never have to ask that Luce. I always want you with me."
They release from each others grips and move silently as they get themselves ready for bed, Santana dressing in boxers and a t-shirt, while Quinn's opted for boxers and her favourite hoodie of her girlfriend.
Quinn crawls into bed first and watches Santana round the other side before slipping beneath the duvet, the Latina leans over for an innocent kiss before settling her head down facing her girlfriend. They stare into each others eyes for around 10 seconds before Quinn begins to blush, causing them both to giggle.
"You're stunning Lucy Q. How did I get so lucky?" Santana states, reaching out to take Quinn's hand beneath the blanket.
Quinn shakes her head shyly and opens her arms, "Let me hold you."
Santana quickly accepts and shuffles into Quinn's arms, resting her head on her shoulder, arm over her waist and legs tangled. The blonde leans down to kiss her forehead.
"I'm the lucky one. I love you Santana Lopez." She mumbles into brunette hair.
"I love you more Lucy Fabray." Santana responds before Quinn feels her body relax in her arms and her breathing even out, indicating that she's fell asleep. She turns the TV off and follows her girlfriend into a relaxing slumber.
The next morning, Quinn and Santana cuddle until they have to get up and ready to collect Maribel from the airport.
The siblings and Quinn all pile into the car and begin to make their way to JFK, Santana and Blaine make small talk, while Quinn stares out of the window, clutching tightly to Santana's hand on the gear stick.
The blonde hasn't spoken much at all this morning, they layed silently in each others arms all morning and then got up and ready around each other also in silence. She's just beginning to realise that this is their last day together and that she has no idea when she'll see her girlfriend again, that thought alone breaks her heart.
When they arrive at the airport, Santana parks the car and they make their way to baggage claim to meet their mother. They aren't waiting long before they spot a familiar Latina approaching them, Santana and Blaine running to embrace their Mami.
"My babies. My oh my how I've missed you both." She says, hugging them both tightly and kissing their heads. "I have a blonde child somewhere, where is she?" Maribel quizzes and soon spots Quinn watching them adoringly a few metres away.
"Come here Mija." She says, approaching and hugging Quinn like her life depends on it.
"I've missed you so much Mama." Quinn says, hugging her back, just as tightly.
"I've missed you too baby girl." Mari adds, placing a kiss to the top of the blonde's head.
While the two have their moment, Santana and Blaine have retrieved Maribel's luggage and they are soon all piling back into the car, Maribel being adamant that Quinn is to sit in the front.
Maribel could see instantly in the hazel eyes of the blonde, the sadness that is lingering there, the impending heartbreak that is about to come, so if she can help ease a little of that by sitting in the back of a car, then that's something she doesn't even need to think twice about.
They all catch up on the way to the hotel, (Maribel refused to stay with the teens, saying she wouldn't want to interrupt), talking about what they've been doing.
Blaine had told Maribel that he had had his deployment letter, so she had decided to stay in town for the week so that she could see him off too.
As Santana pulls up, Blaine offers to run her bags inside while Maribel checks in, leaving the couple waiting in the car.
"Are you okay baby love? You've been real quiet today." Santana asks concernedly, twisting slightly to face her body towards the passenger seat, taking a pale hand in her own.
"I'm fine Tana. Just thinking, you know?"
"Anything you want to talk about?"
Quinn looks down at their intertwined hands and shakes her head softly.
Santana knows what's going through her girlfriend's mind but doesn't want to push her, she knows she'll talk when she's ready, even if it's not to her. So she decides to change the conversation.
"Are you excited for our date tonight?" She asks, to which Quinn's demeanour changes and a smile starts to spread across her cheeks, instantly causing one to appear on Santana's face too.
"I am, are you going to tell me what we're doing?"
"I am not, but.." She drags out, lifting Quinn's chin gently to make eye contact, "I have tried to pull out all of the stops for you."
"You didn't have to do that lovebug, I'd have just been happy staying in, getting a pizza and lying in bed."
"Nope. Not tonight, my girl deserves the best and that's what she's going to get. No arguments." Santana smiles brightly and leans in to peck Quinn's lips a couple of times, making her giggle.
Just then, Mari and Blaine return and jump in the backseat.
"All set Mami?" The younger Latina asks.
"Yes Mija. Any plans for today?" Maribel enquires as they pull off in the direction of the apartment.
"Me and Q have a date tonight. I figured you'd want to relax today, order lunch and watch some films."
"You know me well." Maribel replies to which they all chuckle.
When they arrive home, Mercedes and Kurt are also squished by Maribel and they soon settle down to catch up. Maribel, Kurt and Blaine sit on one couch, while Santana, Quinn and Mercedes sit on the other, Santana leaning against the arm rest with Quinn curled into her side.
Cedes and Kurt update Maribel on what they've been doing and what they've experienced since being in the big city and once they decide they're hungry, they order from the local Deli for lunch.
After watching a couple of movies, it's now 5 o'clock and the girls have reservations for 7, so they move to start to get ready.
Quinn showers first, as she usually take longer, and Santana jumps in straight after.
Once the Latina has showered, she dries her hair and curls the ends slightly, before pulling out some new navy slacks, with the matching jacket and a crisp white shirt.
She gets dressed in Blaine and Kurt's room and ties up her black dress shoes and sneaks into hers and Quinn's room, whilst the blonde is in the bathroom, to add the finishing touches, like her favourite perfume and watch.
She swiftly leaves and enters the living room to find Maribel and Blaine chatting away with Kurt.
"Is she nearly ready?" Kurt asks, grinning widely.
"I have no idea. Maybe you should go check." Santana adds, after she received a certain look from Maribel, knowing that she wants to talk.
Kurt doesn't need to be told twice and happily slips off in the direction of their bedroom.
"You look great Mija."
"Thank you Mami. Now, what's wrong? Don't tell me nothing."
"Nothing is wrong, per say. I can just see the desperation and sadness in Quinn's eyes. I was going to wait a little while longer before I make this decision but honestly.. I don't think I need any more time. There's nothing for me in Lima, I've figured that out over the past couple weeks and I know that I need to be here, for you two and for the others.
I understand if you would feel like I'm following you around, I get that kids move away from home to move away from their parents, but to tell you the truth.. I'm extremely lonely there." Maribel adds sadly.
Blaine and Santana share a look and then both burst into wide grins.
"Mami, we would love for you to live here. We won't be here all the time anyway so you're not stepping on our toes, maybe speak to the others but I can't see any of them having an issue with it!" Blaine exclaims, leaning in to hug his mother.
"Yeah Mami. I think this is a great idea." Santana adds, kissing her on the cheek.
"I'm glad to hear that. I have a few viewings lined up for this week and I've spoken to the hospital, they have a couple of openings."
"If this is what you really want, we're happy for you. I'm just sorry I won't be here to help you move." Santana adds with a sad smile, while Blaine nods his head in agreement.
"That's okay my babies. I'm so proud of you both. Just promise me, you'll both hold it together and get help when you need it. Please don't do to them two what Emilio did to me. They are both beautiful souls that deserve to be protected."
The siblings nod quickly and the three of them embrace in a hug.
Shortly after, they hear a throat being cleared and they turn to see Kurt, smiling wickedly from ear to ear.
He steps out of the way and the sight takes Santana's breath.
Quinn stands before them in a pale blue dress that stops just above the knee. The straps hang off her shoulders and rest on her upper arms. She has subtle makeup, as she knows it's Santana's favourite, and her hair has been curled delicately, sitting on her shoulders, paired with a small pair of white heels.
Santana approaches her slowly, admiring the sight of her gorgeous girlfriend, "Wow Q.." She pauses, running her eyes up and down the flawless body infront of her, again.. "You look.. you look.. wow."
Quinn blushes profusely under the piercing gaze and looks into the brown orbs to adores, "Thank you baby. You look amazing."
This seems to snap Santana out of her daze and she leans in to place a lingering kiss on Quinn's cheek. When she pulls back, she offers her hand, which the blonde happily accepts.
"Are you ready?" Santana asks shakily, still mesmerised.
"Yeah." Quinn breathes out softly.
They head towards the door, where Maribel meets them, pulling them into a gentle hug, as not to ruin their outfits.
"You both look incredible. Let me take a picture!" She exclaims happily, pulling out her phone and while she finds it, Quinn runs to get her Polaroid, handing it to Blaine.
He snaps a picture of them and as he finishes, Maribel takes hers, smiling proudly. They say their goodbyes and make their way down to the curb, where Santana instantly gets a cab.
The girls don't speak, they just steal glances at each other every now and then and link their fingers, that are resting in Quinn's lap.
The cab ride is short and soon they are clambering out of the car and into the restaurant before them.
"Tana.." Quinn breathes out softly, finally realising where they are. As she looks up, she sees the sign for 'Le Bernardin' in bright lights.
"You've always wanted to come here, right?" Santana asks, tugging on their clasped hands gently, while Quinn nods in response. "So, come on then."
Quinn kisses her girlfriend softly on the lips before moving towards the entrance. The waitress meets them at the front, "Good evening and welcome to Le Bernardin. Do you have a reservation with us?"
"Good evening and yes. It should be under Lopez." Santana explains and the waitress checks through their system.
"Lopez..." She pauses, "Ah, yes. That's perfect, if you'd like to follow me." She says as she turns in the direction of their table.
Santana gestures for Quinn to go first, which makes her blush, and she follows. When they arrive at the table, Santana thanks the lady and pulls Quinn's chair out for her.
"Thank you lovebug." Quinn says, thankful for Santana's gentlemanly gestures, they always make her feel special.
AN: Hey everyone, hope you're all good!
We hit 100 reviews last chapter and I honestly thank you all from the bottom of my heart, I was never expecting to share this story so it means the world.
I'm really struggling with this story now but we're still going. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!
Also, do we want to see the scenes when Santana's away or sort of see odd snippets? This is where I'm mainly struggling!
Anyway, the next chapter is near enough done so hopefully it shouldn't be too long a wait!
