Queens New York

"I can't believe it; my baby boy is going to his first prom with a girl." Astella said with pride for her son as she was looking over his clothes of a buttoned up long-sleeved dress shirt with red thin vertical lines and cufflinks, brown dress pants with a nice-looking belt, black dress shoes and underneath his shirt collar is a black tie.

"Hopefully things go well." Morgan said a bit nervously and with a smile on his face as he messed with his tie a little bit while his mother was telling him about how he should treat his date for the evening, and that he'd better not make her a grandmother anytime soon.

Ding-Dong

"That's her." Morgan said quickly before clearing his throat and taking a deep breath before he walked to the door of their house after his mother handed him the bouquet of flowers that his mother bought for his prom date.

Roses are a bit intense for a first impression, but plain yellow flowers didn't fit either, so Astella grabbed an assortment of different kinds of flowers for the event. So, with one hand holding flowers, and the other holding the doorknob. Morgan opened it and saw Julie Powers dressed in a short-sleeved lavender dress with black accents and black flat shoes.

Next to her was her father.

James Power, Level: 11

Physicist/Proud Father

James was a typical looking guy with brown hair combed backwards, glasses on his face and is wearing basic clothes underneath a thin jacket…Yup…Typical dad.

"So, you're the young man that my daughter told me about." James said in a suspiciously kind and flat tone of voice that sent a chill down Morgan's spine.

Seriously, giant rats and zombie nazi's are things he could handle, but getting asked out and talking to the father of his crush is where Morgan's courage flew out the window.

"Y-Yes sir I-I am." Morgan said a bit nervously as Julie smiled a bit and fiddled with her hair that kept getting in her face.

"You look very handsome Morgan." Julie said with a blush on her face while looking down a bit as Morgan blushed as well.

"You look pretty too Julie." Morgan said back awkwardly before James and Astella both started laughing.

"Oh, to be so young and awkward again. It reminds me of my first date with Margaret." James said fondly.

"You both look so cute together. High school sweat hearts are always the most adorable couples." Astella said back.

"Huh!?" both Julie and Morgan replied loudly to their parents.

Later, Morgan and Julie both road in James' car to the school where they saw several people already there and enjoying the prom theme in the gym as the DJ played some music.

The prom's theme was Atlantic…Mermaids, fish and boats all over the place from the drama and art clubs working together this whole month for the props.

James kept a watchful eye on Julie and Morgan as the duo stood near the punch bowl with close to no knowledge of what to do now.

"Do…um…Do you want to dance?" Morgan asked Julie when the DJ started playing some slow music for the couples to dance to.

"Sure…But I don't know how to dance to slow music." Julie admitted while Morgan extended his hand to her.

"Neither do I."

The dance for them was just as awkward as the rest of this 'date' had been. Morgan accidentally stepped on Julie's feet a few times while Julie had moved their dancing a bit to close to one of the punch bowls and when Morgan bumped into it, he accidentally fell backwards into the punch bowl, staining his suit and getting a few people to laugh at him before he grabbed some paper towels and sat outside as he tried to dry himself off.

"I'm so sorry." Julie said as she sat down next to him and had some sanitizing wipes with her.

"It's no problem. The only issue here is that the punch is sticking to my skin and is not comfortable at all." Morgan said with a bit of a laugh as he used some of the wipes to clean his face. "I'll need to go back in their and clean myself up in the bathroom properly though."

"This hasn't exactly been what I thought about when I asked for this date. I thought everything would be perfect, but the night is just super awkward and weird." Julie said with a chuckle.

"I hope it's weird in a good way."

"It is. Just not the whole white knight in shining armor thing I imagined when I was a kid." Julie said back with a smile as the two of them both looked up at the night sky and saw the stars and the moon.

"If it makes you feel any better, you should know that this is better than what I imagined my first date to be like…Actually now that I think about it…I don't think I ever even thought about getting a date." Morgan admitted as Julie gasped.

"What? How could you not think about that stuff when you were a kid? Don't you like romance?"

"Well, when I was a kid, I just wanted to play with my toys and videogames. I didn't think about anything else." Morgan said back chuckling a bit more as Julie lowered her head a bit with her own giggling.

"Well, boys are from Mars and girls are from Jupiter, I guess. My friends and I were almost non-stop about our romantic dreams and perfect boyfriend ideas."

"Really?" Morgan asked as Julie nodded.

"Yup. We made whole check lists and everything."

"Well…Do I make the list?" Morgan asked a bit hesitantly, making Julie look at him for a moment.

"Well, you're nice and clever. You don't act like some of the other boys, and you didn't focus on my boobs or but during this entire date, like how some of the other schoolboys look at me and my friends. So, I'd say that your prime boyfriend material." Julie said back honestly and with a full smile as Morgan felt butterflies in his chest.

"Well…Your prime girlfriend material too Julie…So, does that mean that we're a thing?" Morgan asked and the two of them went quiet for a moment as Morgan waited for her answer.

"I'd like that…If that's ok." Julie said as she put her hand on top of Morgan's, and in response Morgan raised his hand a little bit and held Her's.

"I'd like that a lot." Morgan said back and both felt like this was the moment when they should kiss but honestly neither teen felt ready for that. So, neither of them made a move and simply watched the stars together for a while with smiles on their faces.

Sadly, the bonding moment wasn't meant to last as both teens suddenly heard explosions nearby and saw smoke in the distance along with hearing some screams before they noticed some drones flying in the air that are an unsettling green and red color.

"That's not good." Julie said before gunfire was heard from the school and people started rushing out of prom from where the shooting had occurred.

In the chaos Julie and Morgan got separated, and both teens took the moment as a chance to get away and change into their superhero persona. Julie left to an unseen area and summoned her outfit of unstable molecules which replaced her outfit as she sported her red and black uniform with a full-face mask, while Morgan equipped his 'Gladiator' equipment inside of a dark alley where nobody noticed him.

Julie entered the school through the open Prom doors while Morgan decided to find another way into the place and avoid more panicking people.

1

"Freeze!" One of three Hydra soldiers ordered as Morgan/Gladiator entered the school via breaking a window and climbing in.

The three soldiers are clad in green and red outfits and armed with pistols and utility belts of gadgets.

"That's not happening." Morgan said back to the group. "Bronze Skin." Morgan said as he activated his protective spell. So, with the alteration spell and his armor, low caliber bullets shouldn't harm him too badly.

Either way, Morgan still moved to the side to try and avoid getting shot by the trio as bullets grazed his shield that he kept casting on himself in case it broke from the bullets. Morgan got close before equipping one of his clubs and proceeded to bash the Hydra soldiers into unconsciousness which gained him some good EXP and loot from the soldiers.

[Bronze Skin] has leveled up! Level: 4-5-6-7!

[Blunt Weapon Mastery] has leveled up! Level: 9-10-11!

Morgan dismissed the screens before he made his way towards the prom area and saw Lightspeed/Julie taking care of several Hydra soldiers by ramming into them with her intense flying speed.

She managed to lay out several soldiers who thankfully didn't have anything other than tasers or pistols.

"Aren't you that guy who warned us about this attack?" Lightspeed asked when she noticed Morgan enter the room.

"I am and I saw that Hydra started attacking the school and I decided to try and help. I took out three soldiers roaming the halls, but it seems that you've managed to take care of the rest of them."

"Thanks, but Hydra is still attacking the city and I'm sure the police are overwhelmed, so I need to go out and try to help." Lightspeed said before she turned to head out.

"Wait. You shouldn't go out alone so let me come with you." Morgan said to the hero who turned back to look at him.

"It's nice that your worried and all, but I can handle myself you know." Lightspeed said back before the duo simply stared at each other before they heard another explosion coming from a different area of New York.

"We don't exactly have time to argue." Morgan replied as Lightspeed groaned in response.

Soon enough, Lightspeed was holding Morgan by his hands as she flew in the air overlooking New York as they saw dozens of Hydra soldiers attacking the city while police and Shield agents desperately fought back as Morgan noticed the Helicarrier high in the air above them being attacked by Hydra drones and air units.

"They made the entire city a war zone." Morgan said before he noticed the mechs on the ground before seeing some other heroes step up to also try and help.

The heroes are Ghost Spider, the Fantastic Four, and the team of Cloak and Dagger.

"No kidding." Lightspeed said before she descended onto the ground near the Fantastic Four where Morgan also noticed another member of the power pack.

Alexander Powers, Level: 19

Zero-G/Team Leader

"I'm glad to see you aren't hurt, Lightspeed, but who is your new friend? And why is he dressed as a spartan warrior from ancient Greece?" Reed Richards asked as he looked at Morgan.

"That's the Gladiator dude I told you about Reed. He's the one who gave you the important stuff from Hydra." Johnny said as he finished blasting apart a mechanical robot.

"Oh, that's right. You did say that it came from a new vigilante or possible villain."

"For the record sir, I'm not a villain. I'm just trying to do the right thing is all, and I know that the fantastic four are the best people to talk to. Ironman was last seen handling business in Russia with some villain who stole his tech, and I don't have any contacts with Shield, so you guys were the best choice I could make." Morgan replied causally as Ben spoke with a smirk.

"You make it sound like we are the last choice kid. But I get it. Public heroes like us would be less of a pain to deal with since we help the community…Well some of us anyway." Ben said while glancing over at Johnny who was hovering in the air.

"Hey! I'll have you know that I help the community a lot more then you."

"How? By genetically altering the gene pool each night?" Ben said back with a smirk before he was suddenly sent flying from a laser blast, making the group look on and see a large hulk sized mech with one clawed arm and the other arm being a powerful energy canon.

The machine was the classic green and red with Hydra logos on it as Susan generated an invisible force field around the group which protected them from another blast.

"Zero-G alter the mechs gravity." Reed said as Alexander did just that by raising his hands and focusing on the robot before it started hovering into the air. "Susan, lower the shield."

The moment the shield dropped, Reed stretched out his hands and quickly punched the robots' exposed joints with a critical eye before retracting his arms to avoid getting shocked when the robot released an energy pulse.

"Earth Bullet!" Morgan cast his spell as he summoned the rock projectile and fired it at the robots' exposed right leg joint to deal some damage. Morgan than repeatedly shot the projectile at the robot while dodging its canon fire as it tried shooting the heroes several times over. Sadly though, it seems like the projectile is doing close to no damage to the robot at all.

'Think Morgan, think. How can you help take down this mech? Earth Javelin might work, but it's too risky in this situation. I'd have to get closer to ensure that I could properly throw the javelin at the exposed joints, and even then, I was open for retaliation from the robot.' Morgan thought to himself before activating the spell Longstride to gain some more speed as the other heroes were swarmed with drones, leaving the robot his problem to deal with.

"Damn it, I just need a minute to think." Morgan said before he quickly activated Bronze Skin, before he was sent flying when the robot blasted the ground near him and sent him into a lamppost, which shattered his protective spell, damaged his body and armor, and made him lose concentration which deactivated Longstride.

"It's Clobberin' Time!" Ben shouted as he made himself known and tackled the robot onto the ground before basing its center body with strong blows from his tough rocky fists.

"That buys me some time." Morgan said with a groan and a sharp pain in his back, but he still had some health and was willing to fight as he summoned another Earth Bullet before thinking about what he can do with it and what spells he had available to him before he was reminded of the Lesser Earth Movement spell and the Earth Spear spell.

So, Morgan focused on altering the properties of his projectile spell by focusing on aspects of his more dangerous spells. The baseball shaped rock started to change form in accordance with Morgan's will.

The rock doubled in size before it sharpened to a point as Morgan quickly realized that he had just created a dangerous spell for himself. However, he didn't have time to think it over much before he saw the mech toss Ben off and slowly stand back up.

"Eat this!" Morgan shouted as he launched the pointed rock rocket towards the robots' leg, and sadly the metal of this mech was strong, but thankfully the exposed wires of the joints took the brunt of the damage, causing sparks to fly. "That may not have done a lot of damage to the armor, but the exposed joints are a critical flaw in Hydras design."

You have developed the spell [Earth Missile]!

Type: Elemental

You have altered the properties of the Earth Bullet spell to create a more power variant that is focused on dealing more damage with more speed at the cost of having a higher MP drain.

Cost: 170 MP]

"Damn that spell is expensive. Thank God for my earth magic perks or else I might not even be able to cast it." Morgan said to himself as he learned that his perks altered the original costs of his spells and is shown on the skill alerts instead of his perks lessening the costs as he levels up.

Meaning that this skill will cost the same amount of mana when he becomes level one-hundred and higher unless he earns another perk that can lower the cost even more.

"Damn kid. You looking to replace me as the rock-based hero?" Ben asked with a chuckle before he punched the robot's damaged leg and broke the thing apart with his blow as the robot tumbled onto its back from its loss of balance.

"Just doing what I can." Morgan said back as Ben tore off the mechs energy canon. "Also, call me Gladiator." Morgan said back as Ben laughed.

"Alright Gladiator, let's clobber these Hydra goons." Ben said before he ditched the damaged machine and started helping with the pesky drones along with Morgan until this street of the city had been cleared.

"Well, if it isn't the Fantastic Four and their mighty sidekicks." A new voice said as the group of heroes saw a new guest emerge from around the corner while being flanked by his associates.

Brock Rumlow, Level: 42

Crossbones

Carl Striklan, Level: 39

Crippler

Bentley Wittman, Level: 37

The Wizard

Thundra, Level: 48

Femizon

Four Hydra Villains and wanted terrorists stood across from the heroes. Crossbones is the black and white skeleton themed leader of the division. Crippler was a deranged sadist and masochist who was one of Shield's best agents. The Wizard uses technology that almost seems like magic and Thundra was a modern-day Amazon with a mean streak and thrill for combat.

Crossbones and Crippler were armed with rifles and secondary melee weapons that were hidden away, The Wizard had his tech as he hovered in the air via circular disks under his feet while his mechanical gauntlets glowed a menacing purple color and Thundra has a claymore sword strapped to her back while also having a large chain wrapped around her right arm.

"This just went from bad to worse." Alexander said grimly as he knew that this situation just took a nasty turn.

"Sorry kiddies but it looks like you picked the wrong night to try and play superhero." Crippler said with a twisted grin as he readied his assault rifle.

"Zero-G, Lightspeed and Gladiator. You all need to withdraw now and help the police and Shield forces." Reed said in a serious tone of voice as all three teens recognized the danger here.

"And what makes you think that were going to let them get away." Crossbones asked before he and Crippler opened fire. Susan quickly raised another invisible forcefield that blocked the bullets from hitting the kids while the Wizard and Thundra advanced.

"Die!" Wizard shouted as he pointed his gauntlets at the group and fired beams of energy towards them that was quickly countered by Johnny's flames as he released intense beams of fire at the laser blasts, which caused an explosive reaction sending the Wizard back while the Fantastic Four and the teen heroes were also taken off-guard.

"Earth Wall!" Morgan shouted as he raised a wall of earth in front of Zero-G as Thundra had her sword in hand and sliced through the wall, giving the teen the chance to alter his gravitational pool and quickly fly backwards.

If Morgan hadn't acted when he did, Zero-G would have been cut down the middle by the massive blade.

Thundra wasn't slow to act in response as she ignored the crumbling earth in front of her, and she threw the chain on her arm towards Zero-G. However, Ben aka the Thing stood in front of the teen and caught the chain.

"Pickin' on kids now? That's earns you a beat down." Ben said before he tightly gripped the chain and pulled it with large amounts of strength, causing Thundra to drop her sword as she was pulled towards Ben who responded by punching her across the face and sent her flying into a building.

Lightspeed also was busy as she had quickly taken to the air and used her superspeed flight to tackle the Crippler which caused him to drop his weapon. Lightspeed aimed to do the same to Crossbones, but he dropped his rifle and used his enhanced strength to catch Lightspeed when she attempted to tackle him with her momentum and he headbutted her, making her fall onto her back on the ground with a bloody nose and a possible concussion.

Lightspeed's powers allowed her to become denser and stronger while she was flying and had momentum assisting her, but when not in flight she was just as vulnerable as any other teenage girl.

Morgan didn't even hear Reed's orders for him as he rushed towards Crossbones after equipping one of his spears as he proceeded to angrily attack Crossbones with a flurry of spear strikes that the Hydra agent easily avoided and stopped when he finally had enough and grabbed the point of the spear.

"Not a bad weapon kid, but your skill with it is total shit." Crossbones said before yanking the spear away and delivered a powerful blow to Morgan.

Even with his toughness and his Bronze Skin spell active. He wasn't even close to prepared for Crossbones strength as all the air rushed out of his lungs and he felt as if some of his organs might have suffered some intense damage as he was sent flying backwards through the air.

You have sustained critical damage! Your HP is critically low!

The world almost felt like it was in slow motion as Morgan was in the air and his mind flashed back to everything he had ever done in life and his memories focused on every good moment he had. The last image in his head was of the date he was just on with Julie and how he just completely failed to protect her.

Morgan tasted the copper like liquid of blood in his mouth as he suddenly stopped in the air and he thought that he might have just died, but it seems that fate has spared him that fate when he heard a new voice.

"Whoa man. I almost didn't make it in time." A oddly cheery voice said as Morgan opened his eyes and saw that he landed in a literal spiderweb between two light posts which cushioned his fall as he saw the one and only Ghost Spider standing on top of one of the light posts before she made her way towards the Hydra agents and encased Crossbones in a large amount of webs before Ghost Spider used her webs to grab Julie and place her next to Morgan in the safety web.

"I can't stop yet." Morgan said weakly as he opened his inventory and quickly gulped down the last remaining HP potions he had.

His body still felt like it was on fire, and he was hurt everywhere, but he was in a much better position than he was a moment ago and took one look at Julie who started to wake up.

"I won't let them hurt you again." Morgan said as he climbed down from the webbing and landed on the ground while gritting his teeth in pain from his wounds. He also noticed that his armor took quite a blow as well and was now going to need to be replaced, but that can wait.

Morgan saw that with Ghost Spiders' help, the Fantastic Four had an easier time dealing with the Hydra agents. The weak link being the Crippler who was tied up in webbing before he used a sharp knife and cut his way out of the webs holding him. He readied another knife and now had one in each hand before he turned and noticed Morgan.

"It looks like you're still alive and kicking kid. I guess that means that I get to handle you." Crippler said with a sadistic smile before he threw both knives at Morgan.

"Bronze Skin." Morgan said as he cast his protective spell and tried to parry the knives with one of the clubs that he had equipped. He luckily knocked away one but the other hit his chest. Luckily his spell protected him before Morgan noticed that Crippler ran up to him with another set of knives as Morgan rushed towards Crippler with his club and exchanged blows with the assassin and quickly realized that the sadistic Hydra agent was more talented with weapons as Morgan got attacked multiple times while he could hardly land a single blow or parry the attacks in exchange.

Morgan quickly jumped back and with his free hand he generated his projectile spell.

"Earth Bullet." Morgan's spell flew towards Crippler who easily took the blow thanks to his protective combat armor mesh that was his uniform. Morgan quickly stored his club away before he cast another spell. "Earth Spear."

"I never killed a magician before kid, but it looks like today is the day I get to scratch that off my bucket list." Crippler said as Morgan readied his spear before enhancing it with his Weapon Reinforcement spell and attacked with a flurry of blows as a wild idea came to his mind as he focused and cast his Longstride spell which enhanced his speed and let him dish out some solid blows to the Crippler and give him several shallow stabs through the combat mesh that the Crippler is wearing.

The thing that made Morgan take a few uncomfortable steps back was the fact that the Crippler seemed to enjoy being stabbed too much.

"Enjoy this." Morgan said before his earth spear's duration hit its limit and fell apart as Morgan activated the spell Earth Javelin and threw the javelin towards Crippler who wore a smile on his face before he dropped one of his knives and caught the Javelin before it hit him with his hand.

"Such potential is truly wasted on such a child. You couldn't even give me a decent challenge." Crippler said with a smile before he tossed the javelin on the ground and shattered it with a powerful stomp.

Sadly, with Crippler's skill and abilities, Morgan was once again on the back foot with new injuries and exhaustion…Morgan was hesitating to use his lethal spells too much because he didn't want to kill the people he was fighting.

He fought seriously but even now with his javelin tossed, he had aimed at the Crippler's shoulder instead of his heart or head. And a part of his mind told him that the hesitation was why he was failing to put up a better fight in this situation.

"Your problem is that you aren't going for the kill little brat. Your hesitation is going to get you killed." Crippler said with a smile before he was suddenly sent flying when Lightspeed had used her powers to fly into Crippler's chest with both her fists hitting him and sent him away a fair distance.

"Are…You, ok?" Lightspeed asked while holding her head with one hand as she stopped flying and stood on her feet.

"I'm fine, but I'm more worried about the rest of the group. More soldiers are pouring in and were getting a bit overwhelmed." Morgan said as the Fantastic four, Zero-G and Ghost Spider had been struggling with the numbers a bit before several Hydra soldiers had just suddenly got dropped by laser beams coming from the sky causing the entire group of villains and heroes to look up and see several Ironman armor's heading towards them.

"Sorry I'm late to the party ladies and gents, but this unwelcomed sleepover is coming to an end." The real Ironman said after he landed on the ground in front of Reed Richards and readied his weapon systems just as more Shield support came in.

2

The fight had finally came to a end as dozens of Hydra members have been arrested by the authorities and the Vigilantes that fought have been gathered by Shield and are now on the Helicarrier with Lightspeed and Zero-G getting looked over in the infirmary while Ghost Spider, Morgan, and the team of Cloak and Dagger were in a meeting room standing in front of the leader of Shield aka Nick Fury.

"So, each of you have stepped up and helped defend the city from the Hydra attack, and one of you has given us some valuable information about the attack itself. However, New York doesn't need several teenage heroes running around unchecked and untrained. Each of you were extremely reckless and barely mitigated damages to the city." Nick said while walking back and forth and looking over the teen heroes who each remained silent. "By all accounts I am well within my rights to have each of you arrested for vigilantism. However, I don't think that is the best course of action."

The teens each raised their heads with a bit of shock since they were well aware that Shield was a government agency more than capable of outing them and having them thrown in prison for being vigilantes.

"Shield is always looking for new agents to fill in the ranks and recently we have authorized the creation of a new elite team of agents to help in various missions that require a certain…Inhuman touch. So, I am offering each of you a choice. You can leave the Helicarrier and pretend this meeting never happened, or you can stay here and be apart of something bigger than yourself. If you leave you won't see me again unless you run into the law. So, what do each of you say?" Nick asked as Morgan saw a brand-new screen appear.

"I'm not against joining, but what about the life I have here in New York. I can't just leave my family behind." Morgan said honestly because he knew Shield could offer him the training that he needs to get stronger, but he also knew that as a spy he might not be able to stay in one place for too long.

"You wouldn't need to leave the city unless a mission demands it, even then we have plans for family situations." Nick said before Ghost Spider spoke up.

"Sorry, but I'm going to opt out on this one. I'm a solo act." Ghost Spider said with her arms crossed.

"We'll…We'll stay." Dagger said as Cloak nodded his head in agreement which left director Fury to look at Morgan who lowered his head for a moment in thought.

"I'm in but on the condition that my mother is informed about this and that I can finish my original mission in the city." Morgan said as he decided that joining Shield is the best logical choice he could make right now.

"Alright. That settles things up then. Ghost Spider you are free to leave, the rest of you are going to head over to the infirmary and get checked out. Agent Hill will escort you." Nick said before Agent Hill stepped forward and started leading the teens towards the infirmary.

Morgan couldn't help but be shocked at what he had been bombarded with in the form of various inventory screens, but he played it cool so that nobody else was able to notice his reaction before he and the other teens were taken to the infirmary.

"Mom is going to freak out when I make it home." Morgan said to himself with a heavy sigh before he ripped off the bandage and unequipped his armor and was now dressed back in his prom outfit. To the shock of several people.

Morgan knew his identity would be exposed in Shield anyway, and decided to get the ordeal over with before he was examined by a doctor.
