Thanos knew they were coming, his right arm ached, but his left hand felt for the wound that Thor's axe inflicted on his chest. The power stone had enhanced his recovery but it still burned here and there causing his focus to hesitate or break but He was the Mad Titan and it was time for his final act.
Captain Marvel and Thor flew in on either side of Thanos. Thanos kicked Captain Marvel in the face knocking her back before taking a half step back to avoid the overhead swing of Stormbreaker which embeds itself in the ground. Thanos stomps on the back of the axe burying it deeper into the dirt before front kicking Thor in the chest.
A blue, red, white blur flies through the air bashing into Thanos' nose. Dazed the titan doesn't see War Machine come in for a right hook, knocking the titan to his back foot. Only for Iron Man to use his chest repulsor on the exposed Titan's back, sending him flying. Thanos comes carreening into an awaiting Hulkbuster whose punches Thanos into the ground headfirst.
Thor comes flying down with a Valkyrie war cry before chopping off the right hand of Thanos' removing the golden gauntlet.
"Get it!" Yelled Iron Man flying in from behind bombarding Thanos with miniature missiles. Thor kicks the discarded gauntlet to Black Widow who catches it.
The Heroes surround a defeated Thanos ready to throw down if he chose to keep fighting.
"Guys we have a problem." Black Widow calls out lifting up the golden gauntlet revealing the problem. The missing infinity gems.
"Where are they?" Yelled Thor kicking Thanos into an upright position.
Thanos smiles before spitting pink blood into the ground. "They're no more."
"No way!" growled Iron Man, "Destroying those stones would destroy the entire universe."
"You're right so I shrunk them down to the size of an atom and spread them throughout the universe. They be impossible to find." Thanos laughs.
A look of horror and rage spread across the group.
"You monster!" Screams Nebula raising her sword to remove his head but stops when Thanos lifts his left hand. A small grey device began to beep with orange lights.
"What is that?" asked captain America.
"Oh no, oh no, no, no." Rocket Raccoon said as he ran up to the mad titan and ripped away his robe to reveal a similar looking grey device wrapped around his chest.
"I suggest you children get as far away as my person as you can cause in ten seconds this thermonuclear device will explode." Thanos grins.
"No time to deactivate the bomb!" shouts Bruce taking a step back in the hulkbuster armor.
"Should I blast him!" Captain Marvel asks her hands glowing with cosmic energy.
"Stand back!" Shouts Thor as he tosses his axe straight at the mad Titan sending him flying up into the air. All the while you can hear Thanos the Mad Titan laughing.
"Tony!" shouts Captain America.
"Rhodes together!" Iron Man said. The two armored heroes stood side by side as a blue and red energy shield wrapped around the heroes. The heroes watch as the Titan out in Orbit becomes a ball of orange light.
"What a way to go." watched Black Widow, knowing quite of few villains choosing to go out on their own terms but never like this.
"Exactly what I would have expected of my father." acknowledged Nebula feeling too many things to stand up right and collapsed she did. Iron Man went to comfort her but his mind devising a way to locate the gems. No way was this going to be the way this ended.
After a tense and combative discussion with all the alien races and empires at the final stand of Thanos, with the Kree and Skrulls heavily believed that the Humans had actually stolen the infinity gems themselves or at least were responsible for the tragedy that had befell the universe Thankfully the Shi-ar and Spartax empire came to the Earthlings aid; a truce to retreat and lick their wounds was agreed upon and everyone returned home to best deal with this problem.
