A/N- I was thinking about if this actually came to life, who would be good voices for the 3 kids(because everyone would reprise their roles). I thought that Isabella Sermon(from Jurassic World)would be perfect for Robin, Zachary Arthur(from the Chucky series) as Ryan, and Amelie Bea Smith(Peppa Pig) as Ruby. I just instantly heard their voices and they would make an excellent trio of siblings. Now onward with the story!
Once Ruby found out about her mother and father's plan to keep her inside with the rest of her mother's siblings, She did everything she could to protest. She wouldn't play hide the cheese when they asked her, she had her nose in the air when they tried to get her to eat her food and the final straw was when Ruby refused to get a bath before bed.
"Now Ruby, you can't protest forever…" Roddy said sternly with his hands on his hips
"No food will pass my lips and I will not take a bath unless you allow me to go scavenging with you again…" Ruby declared
"This is for your own good…" Rita agreed, having had enough of her daughter's tantrum
"But why Mummy, you let me before…"
"Because the Toad may be after you…" Roddy explained
"I'm not scared of that slimy airbag…He can eat my shorts…" the little rat proclaimed.
"Watch it, Young Lady…" Rita pointed a finger at her
"Well until The Toad is no longer after you Ruby, you're staying in here…" Roddy added.
"But Uncle Liam will bully me…" The couple kneeled to their daughter's level and began to console her
"I know that you don't like this and We both know that you love to scavenge for treasure but right now it's not safe for you" Rita explained to her daughter placing a hand on the young rat's shoulder
"We'll have a talk with Liam about you…and we'll make sure that he doesn't bully you…" Roddy gently wiped the tears from Ruby's face.
This was reassuring for Ruby but she didn't want to give up too easily.
After her parents left, Ruby hung out with her mother's siblings. It was fun for a while until Shocky attempted to shock her and frizzed her curly hair, snapping her scrunchie out. She heard a familiar voice laughing at her.
"Somebody's got the frizzies…" Liam pointed. Ruby rolled her eyes and attempted to ignore him and decided to hang out with her grandmother, helping out with the toddlers.
Even though Ruby was a child, she loved to help out with adult responsibilities, even though she may not know what she was doing.
"Thank you Ruby…you don't have to do this…" Her grandmother said as she handed a toddler rat to another older child with Ruby's help
"I love to help you, Grandma…" Ruby smiled. Then that smile quickly turned into a frown when a foul smell was in the air. "Except for diapers…" She quickly handed back one of the toddlers to her grandmother. Then she heard Liam shaking his head at her.
"Looks like the dumb kid is at it again…" Liam teased.
Almost on the brink of tears, Ruby ran upstairs to her room, slamming the door behind her, not hearing her grandmother calling for her and her grandfather scolding her uncle.
She ungently brushed her hair, placed it back into a ponytail with another scrunchie, and looked out the window of her room, wiping the tears from her face. She did a double take and saw something shiny from afar. She brought out a pair of binoculars that she got from a scavenging trip with her parents and looked out the window again, spotting something silver in the distance.
"Ah-ha…" Ruby looked at her door and opened the window. Looking down, she saw a slight obstacle course, with a ladder, and how the house was starting to rock, with one of her uncles, skating in the house. Ruby took a few deep breaths, ran to the back of her room, and as soon as the house rocked to the right, she climbed out of the window, landed on the ladder, and started to climb down. With the house rocking made it difficult for her to climb down
"Don't be scared, Ruby…You got this…" She talked to herself. Finally, she got the courage to climb all the way down and she glanced around for the silver object.
She saw a light reflecting on her face and saw the silver ring she was looking for. She beamed and began to run towards it until she saw a line connecting to it. She tilted her head and looked up and saw a couple of shadows afar, peering to see if she would take the bait.
"Are you sure this is going to work Spike…." Whitey whispered loudly
"Trust me mate, kids these days are attracted to anything that shines…" Spike glanced at Ruby, who was taking a close look at the ring. "Come on, take the bait…"
Ruby furrowed her brows, thinking to herself that something wasn't right. Then she saw another flash and looked behind her. She saw a tourist couple holding a flashy camera trying to take a picture of the guard that wouldn't move, attempting to make it move and she quickly got an idea.
After a while, Spike and Whitey felt a tug and got excited.
"I got her now Whitey…" Spike quickly pulled on the rope and was confused to see a flashing camera tied to the rope. Then the camera flashed at the hench rats, blinding them.
"My eyes Spike…I can't see…" Whitey waved his hands around
Ruby giggled and ran away from the two men and tried to retreat back into the house but she struggled to reach for the ladder because of her height.
"I'm not tall enough…" Ruby said to herself
"Oi get her Whitey…" Then Ruby spotted the two rats beginning to chase after her, forcing Ruby to drop the silver ring and run into town. She glanced around for a spot to hide and saw a tunnel, grinned, and raced toward there. When she reached the area where the boats sat, she spotted one and then stepped on board, carefully with her right foot as her mother instructed her and she tried to hide under the ship
"She's around here somewhere…" When Ruby saw the two rats looking for her in the boat area. When she saw the rats trying to search deep into the area, she quickly jumped out of the boat she hid in and ran in the opposite direction and when she reached the light, she was stopped by more hench rats making her gasp. Then Whitey grabbed her by her tail, holding her upside down while being careful about her small figure
"Gotcha you little brat…" Spike ran in front of the young rat, teasing her.
"Oi, let me go…" Ruby attempted to squirm out of Whitey's grasp, only for him to cling onto her tail tighter
"The boss wants to see you, little one…"
"Why me…why not some other little girl he wants to bother…"
"Oh you're a special case…your Rita's little girl…" Spike smiled maliciously.
"I don't know a Rita…" Ruby lied. Then Spike nodded at the other henchmen and Whitey and began to carry her. "Hey, put me down…why does your boss want me…Hey…"
Meanwhile, Rita and Roddy returned from their scavenging trip only to find Ruby missing. Everyone searched around the house for her and One of Rita's siblings spotted her bedroom window open and alerted the parents. Then Rita growled under her breath
"That filthy airbag took Ruby…"
"How did she even get out…"
"No matter Roddy we have to find her before Kermit does something to her…" then the two adult rats set off to find their missing daughter
Meanwhile, as the rats made their way to the lair. They dragged Ruby with a chain on her hands and brought her into a lush room where she saw porcelain statues and antiques along with the cat-skinned rug that gave her the creeps and saw a figure sitting on a chair
"Boss, we found the little girl…" then the girl saw the figure rise up and face her. Ruby's face had a subtle shock but tried her best to put on a brave face.
"Hello, little one…Or shall I say Ruby Malone-St-James" The toad peered down at Ruby. "Did you really think I believed that your mother's name is Eleanor…what a pitiful name…"
"What do you want with me…of all the girls here why me…" The toad said nothing else but glanced at the girl's eyes which eerily resembled Rita's and smiled evilly
"You have your mummy's eyes…Too bad she doesn't know that you're here.
Then the terror in Ruby's eyes came to the surface.
"What do you plan on doing to me…" Ruby asked with the terror on her face starting to become visible.
"Before I do anything I must show you something first…" Then Spike and Whitey glanced at each other
"What are you going to show her boss…" Whitey asked innocently.
"You'll see…"
Then The toad led her with Whitey holding her by a chain to a room with a large tank covered with a cloth, right next to a fridge.
"You wanted to show me a tank?" She asked. The toad giggled menacingly
"Not just a tank dear girl…" then the toad unveiled the cloth to reveal toads with sharp teeth, swimming around the tank, some of them snarled at Ruby, making her and Whitey gasp.
"Meet my children…Aren't they all adorable…Let me give you a closer look at them…"
"I-I think I'm okay here-" Ruby tried to protest until the toad grabbed a hold of her hand.
"Please my little darling…I insist…"
"Ow, Ow your hurting me…" Ruby whined.
"Too bad…" Then the toad dragged Ruby to the top of the tank where all of the toad's children gathered around hungrily staring at Ruby, her gulped audibly
"They look rather hungry…Maybe a little closer…" Then the toad grabbed Ruby by the tail and began to place her above the water entrance of the tank where the toad's children attempted to snap at her
"You can't do this…"
"Tell me deary…Has your mother ever told you why she scavenges…has she warned you about me…There's one thing to tear the rumors apart…Your mummy LIED"
Ruby's eyes widened before the toad threatened to lower her, much to his minions' fear, making the little girl scream. All of a sudden, a crash was heard making everything come to a halt.
"You take her and hide her…Someone broke into my home…bring the intruders to me…" the other rat minions nod and Whitey and Spike take Ruby and place her in a cage
"You wait here mate…Or you become lunch…" Spike warned her as the two left her alone with her fear.
After a while, the young rat heard whispering from afar.
"You had to crash into something Ryan…why don't you call the cops while you're at it…" Ruby looked up and saw two rats that looked really familiar.
"I wasn't trying to crash anything, Robin…I don't do well with darkness…"
"Could've fooled me…"
"Wait what's that…" then the two rats came closer and one of them recognized Ruby
"It's you again…" Ryan said in shock. "What are you doing here?"
"What are you two doing here…" Ruby asked
"It's none of your business kid…"
"We're looking for our boss…" then Robin to threaten to hit Ryan
"Wait, can you please let me out…I have to warm my Mummy and Daddy…"
"You're dead meat kid…" Robin told her as she was about to leave until Ryan grabbed her
"Wait a minute…" then Ryan analyzed the bars and took out Robin's knife from her backpack
"What are you doing…" Robin tried to reach for the knife and Ryan held it away from her
"Come on we have to help her…"
"Not with my knife your not…"
"Do you want us all to get caught…" Robin rolled her eyes and heard yelling
"They're around here somewhere…" One minion said
"The toad's jewels are gone…" another yelled
"Fine get her out of here and meet me by the entrance…the faster we get out of here the better…" Robin raced away
"Thank you…" Ruby sighed in relief. Ryan gave her a light smile as he sawed at the loose bars. It took him a solid minute but after a while, Ruby was free
"Okay…We're gonna get you to your parents okay…" then the two raced away from the little girl's prison
Meanwhile, Robin searched around for her and Ryan's boss. As she glanced around, she saw a fridge
"What the?" as Robin opened the door, she looked around and gasped as she saw a rat with blonde hair and all-black clothing frozen in place and a face full of regret and fear.
"No….NO…." Robin muttered. Then a cackle made Robin quickly turn around and the toad and his minions surrounded her
"So you're the culprit trying to rob me…A dirty little scavenger like yourself shouldn't be in these parts…" The Toad tried to pet Robin's cheek, but the young teen hissed at him
"My…Such a strong girl you are…Where is the rest of your army…" then suddenly the lights were shut out and the minions and their boss turned to Ryan and Ruby who is holding the master cable out of the window
"Over here Kermit…" Ruby called out waving the cable, giving Robin enough time to elbow Spike and make a run for the group up the stairs
"Not the master cable…Put it back…" The Toad yelled after the kids as the minions began to take off after them.
"Ryan we have to leave the kid…"
"NO, we can't…" Then Robin glanced at the cable that the three could zipline
"That cable can't hold all three of us…"
"Well, you go first…" Ryan told her
"With what…" Ryan took off his Hawaiian shirt and handed it to his partner
"Works for me…" then Robin decided to zipline away from the building
Ryan crouched down to Ruby's level. "Okay, we're going to zipline that cable to the other side okay…You have to hold on to me and whatever you do…Don't let go…Can you do that for me…"
"Uh huh…I understand…" Then Ryan got down allowing Ruby to climb on his back and wrap her arms around his neck
"Get those brats…" Ryan used the cable and wrapped it on the cable and glanced at Ruby
"You ready…" Ruby nodded and Ryan avoided the minions' grasp and soared through the cable leading them to the other side. Midflight, Ruby heard a familiar honk and saw two rats on the boat that made Ruby feel relieved
"Mummy Daddy I'm over here…" Ruby tried to call her parents but to no avail. Once Ryan and Ruby reached the other side, meeting with Robin, who scoffed at the appearance of Ruby decided to make an escape.
"Wait I saw my Mummy and Daddy…"
"There's no time kid, we have to go…" Robin exclaimed as the trio ran through the streets of Ratropolis
"We can't go back to our place with those goons on our tail…" Ryan argued
"Do you have a better idea-" Then the trio stopped when they were in the middle of a bridge and they saw that it was about to go up. Ruby saw Roddy and Rita heading their way
"Mummy Daddy…Up Here…" Ruby called, getting their attention, and this time, it worked
"Ruby…" Roddy was the first to see her as his wife was driving
"Ruby baby, Jump…" Rita called after. then Ruby jumped and landed on the boat with no hesitation. Then Ryan stood and took a few steps back
"What are you doing?" Robin asked
"I don't know…" Then Ryan jumped into the boat and landed inside it. With Robin growling angrily and doing some considerable thinking, jumped in after him.
