Chapter 29: Nut

Ororo's rushed through the chaos of Sesshomaru's castle. Its halls and stairways started awaking in alarm. Soldiers, servants, advisers, and all other personnel were arriving to the palace and preparing for whatever Sesshomaru needed that night. Her hands held onto a bloody Kagome close to her body while walking through the semi dark halls of the palace to an empty room. The torches flickered on the walls and many more lit themselves upon her approach as if sensing her urgency. Her muscles were tense, yet her aura flickered about her warning everyone to stay back from her or risk losing their lives by the prince's claws. She ran through the dark halls with guards lining up to protect the castle. Soldiers and advisers were waking up and filling the castle having received the high alert status from the Inu King and his General. As she ran steadily, everyone stayed clear of her. A few gasped obviously recognizing the woman that she carried in her arms.

Her mind was scattered as she climbed the stairs to the main house where kin and clan were to be kept. Kagome needed Ororo's help and the Queen wanted to be there for her. Inuyasha trusted her with his mate's life which she took with great responsibility. They had become like family after proving herself to them both that she would look out for them and care as well. But her mind was torn. The other side of her wanted to run to Sesshomaru's side and get to the bottom of things. To draw blood with him for what was done. But to also provide a level of protection.

Clearly this was no coincidence that the moment Sesshomaru and herself departed, Inuyasha's village would get attacked. And that she would also have another vision. This time with Kagome more prevalent and at the forefront. It would explain her dream. But the details had changed somewhat from its predecessor. It became clearer. More direction. Evidently, she did something that changed the vision. The monk had been neutralized who was their primary threat. Now, the final threat was nye. This could only mean that the moment in which to act against her foe was coming soon or upon them. She just didn't think that Lord Tanaka would be so bold due to his cowardice. Kagome whimpered in pain in her arms, and she sprinted faster. Ororo reminded herself that Sesshomaru was a powerful king, and he could do without her. Right now, she was needed by the miko.

Ororo needed a nearby empty room where she would be safe. She couldn't take Kagome to the infirmary as there would surely be a few bodies to occupy it that night if blood was to be shed. Kagome's body continued to glow and her power swirled about her furiously. As Ororo rounded the bend to the Lord's private quarters she could see the double doors of the den where Rin slept. The presence of the dragon was inside. Three of Sesshomaru's strongest guards stood in front of the double doors protectively. She wondered if they should be so close to such a private area but based on their current situation, one could never be too safe. Seeing her, the guards stepped aside and opened the doors allowing her to see Rin still sleeping and breathing soundly on her futon. Her tiny fist had grasped a handful of thick furs and pulled them all to her body. Ah-Un's body sat at the base of the pile protectively resting by Rin's feet. His slitted eyes moved to her and both heads nodded in acknowledgement. Bast sat above Rin's head now upright from its previous crouched position. Her gold feline statuesque form sat as if it had been moved by someone.

"Good job Ah-Un. And watch Rin closely please, Bast." She commanded and then bowed her head in respect. Two guards looked inside the den with raised eyebrows wondering to whom she was speaking to. Ororo stood upright and spoke to the guards next. "I need a large bowl filled with cold water and another filled with warm water delivered to my door. Also, I will need several dry cloths. Leave them outside the door. I don't want anyone getting sick." Confirmations answered her request, and she continued her light jog while mindful of Kagome's health in her hands. One guard ran ahead of her to get the door and close it behind her securely. She walked into her room and laid Kagome down on the soft futon looking her over with her eyes deciding on where to start first. Quickly she focused her mind on clarity so that she could help heal the young woman in her care.

"Sekhmet." She called out holding her hands up to her sides with palms facing the ceiling. "I call upon your wisdom and strength to guide me in healing this young priestess that is of good nature. Let Ra's will be done." She commanded with her eyes turning ghostly white. The lights flickered on the wall and a breeze ruffled her white hair back behind her. Ororo nodded before moving forward with her work.

Cautiously, she laid one hand on Kagome's fevered head and the other on her rising chest. Ororo's hands shook a bit due to the various emotions boiling inside of her. She took calming breaths to soothe herself knowing that a split focus will give split results. Her gaze noticed the changes upon the young woman and was relieved. Kagome's chest continued to rise rapidly. Wounds were healing and the blood was drying up. Pink miko energy swirled defensively around her. Tiredness flooded Kagome's body as if she had tried to run the length of the Nile without rest. Sweat coated her reddened skin and her black hair and bangs stuck to her forehead and neck wildly. The hand that sat on her chest ran upwards to Kagome's neck then down to her hand. Ororo reached for her right hand and traced her life's energy through her body. Ororo frowned before waving her hand down to her belly and then back up to her chest again. Ororo stilled her hands and looked to Kagome's body with eyebrows raised. She could sense something, but she wasn't too sure.

With great focus she bent her head down and touched it gently to Kagome's. Ororo blinked her eyes and found herself inside the cozy large hut of Kagome and Inuyasha. It was built with many compartments and a few doors that allowed them to exit quickly if needed. She loved their rather large home and found it was built out of respect for Inuyasha taking on the role as his village's headman and protector. Their home was close to the village but inside the forest where she had learned the two shared a lot of history. Ororo turned around in their sitting room to see the pair speaking lowly and sharing in conversation. Kagome sat lounging relaxed in her mate's hold against the wall enjoying the night and the warmth of the burning fire.

"I hope your brother does something soon." Kagome spoke rubbing Inuyasha's knuckles lovingly. Marks on her cheeks were there that weren't before from her mating with the Inu king. Her hair seemed to have grown longer as well as her nails seemed a bit sharper.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they mated tonight." Inuyasha responded leaning down to breath in Kagome's scent. His pungent red aura surrounded Kagome protectively pouring on the outside and insides of Kagome's body and filling the room. Inuyasha opened his mouth to continue his sentence but closed it. He held Kagome protectively in his hold with a concerned expression on his face. His ears were moving about his head. His posture changed and his hand went to his sword resting at his side. His nose moved from its position buried in her hair to look down at the mark.

Ororo moved to Kagome's right side where she could see the mark that was pink with a grey outline. Inuyasha reached up to stroke her neck and she could tell his instincts were on high alert and this time he was listening and trusting in himself. Ororo crossed her arms over her chest already seeing the changes within Inuyasha who was showing a promising future as a supreme protector. Ororo thought of this and made a side note to speak with Sesshomaru on this further. Had Inuyasha and miko lived in Egypt, the two would be highly favored and given a palace of their own.

Inuyasha suddenly stilled holding onto Kagome tightly before slowly moving from around her body to stand in front of her. Kagome's wide brown eyes looked around the room as if she could see a 360 degree view outside of her home. She too slowly stood up and walked to the corner to reach for her weapons. Inuyasha walked to the front of his hut and listened into the night. Kagome's eyes glowed pink in color and she began touching her home activating a barrier over it. Kagome stood hauling her weapons on her back and moved to stand at Inuyasha's side waiting for information. Without further warning, Inuyasha grabbed Kagome by her waist and rushed out of the house. Ororo ran outside and didn't see anything but she could feel something wicked a few miles away. She walked further into the forest after the couple and moved her hands in the air to push forward time through Kagome's memories.

Ororo took flight to watch as a horde of shadow demons and soldiers descended onto the village in a furious attack. A giant purple and pink bubble revealed itself that stretched from one end of the village to the other end in an incredible display of spiritual power. Energy rolled off it in a silent threat to all those that got too close. She looked down to see Inuyasha and his pack members engaged in an epic fight against the swarm. So many demons descended onto the small village that it was startling. Soldiers in black uniforms mingled with shadow demons and attacked the village along with mindless possessed demons. Her body shook with knowing that someone needed to free these minds from bondage.

Ororo compared her vision to the situation. The demons in her vision attacked from the South. For sure she knew these were Tananka's men and he was behind these attacks. "Bastard Tanaka." She muttered watching his men run through using various attacks to assault Inuyasha's village. She looked around hoping to catch the coward, but she didn't see him. "How is he doing this? Why?" She asked looking around hoping to find additional clues in Kagome's memories.

Kagome reinforced the barriers surrounding the village allowing absolutely nothing to enter her barrier. Inuyasha fought with valor to protect their humble village. She watched as the kit fox and the young demon slayer gathered all the men, women, and children into the main hut for safety. The elder miko stood in front of the people protectively shooting her own arrows. A few of Sesshomaru's soldiers that were sent prior to protect it were fighting and she sighed in relief to see them still protected from her magic. Ororo turned her attention to see toss Sango's weapon fly and slice through many foes with her husband focused on throwing his ofudas to expel the possession obviously recognizing that this fight was waged unfairly.

Spiritual and demon energy clashed around her in powerful waves that nearly knocked her off balance in the sky. She landed on the ground next to Kagome watching the woman prepare her bow and shoot arrows all around her. The earth was shaking underneath her feet. It wept for its creatures that were unjustly attacked and forced to fight. Inuyasha landed on the other side of Kagome. Her eyes widened to see Inuyasha pull out his sword and swipe it once in the air with a yell. Kagome released an arrow wrapped in purification energy. Great power struck through the air in golden streaks and mingled with that of Kagome's pink purification arrow that lit up the night sky. Her eyes were blinded from the light and the wind that kicked up debris from their combined attack. A few moments later, she opened her eyes and gasped in shock to see half the battlefield cleared of the enemy. Pink dust rained from the sky and Ororo backed up to look at the pair's pained expressions knowing that innocent lives were lost.

Giant streak marks cut in the dark soil where their attack landed and uprooted trees in the forest along the way. Demon bodies lay spewn about as the wind picked up and more of the land was destroyed by an attack. An intense demonic aura of that of the Inu clan exploded ahead of her. Ororo stood tall watching as so much was laid to waste by Inuyasha's power. His roar of righteous anger had her reaching for weapons not on her. Pride swelled in her chest to see such conviction and strength was not just in Sesshomaru but such strong conviction passed through the bloodline. Ororo turned her head to look at Inuyasha with pride and conviction. His power flowed around him in waves reminding her so much of Sesshomaru.

"I thought Lord Sesshomaru and Lady Ororo killed the evil monk!" Sango yelled fending off another attack with her giant boomerang weapon.

"Lady Ororo did! But this attack is fueled by someone else. Look at some of their clothes! They bare a crest. But who would do this?" Miroku answered her using his staff as a purification weapon hoping to dispel demons from possession. He watched as black smoke left everyone that he hit but he knew he had his limits.

Concerns for the other nearby villages came up causing a panic among the group. Sesshomaru's soldiers responded by sending two to scope to surrounding area while yelling for word to reach for their Lord. More enemies were approaching but with their attention directed at Kagome. Demons transformed and began unleashing powerful attacks against the barrier. Inuyasha was doing his best along with the others, but their hands were busy. Villagers both human and demon joined in the fight to protect the peaceful village that was home to anyone needing sanctuary. The soldiers and Inuyasha's pack were slowly pushing back one side of the attack, but more was approaching the opposite side aiming their attacks directly at Kagome. Inuyasha jumped away to deal with another side of attacks.

Ororo looked to see Kagome's attention divided between protecting the village from invasion and attacking those getting too close to her barrier. Kagome's power was overwhelming but she could sense distress coming from the priestess. Her pink barrier increased in strength and began taking on an aggressive nature, purifying anything getting too close. Kagome screamed her warning to her allies to not get too close to her barrier. Her lack of training in controlling such power was now revealing itself. Enemy soldiers attacked with weapons and static crackled in the air from their assault. Power hit her on all sides coming from everywhere at once clashing against each other. Sweat glistened on Kagome's skin and tiredness settled in her body.

"You haven't fully healed, and you need more training." Ororo crouched to her side watching Kagome wobble on her feet. "This barrier is impressive but it's massive and these demons know it. Also, you are growing from your bond with your mate. You have not had enough time to develop your bond, and this is draining you. You know something is wrong and you are trying to tell Inuyasha." Ororo surveyed the attacks to Kagome again. Watching the onslaught as each demon attempted to get to the priestess and perished. But where one perished, another came to attempt in its place. Claws and eyes focused on Kagome. "They are attacking specifically you. They want you for something. Now why is it?" She gathered.

The poor girl was exhausting herself trying to keep up the massive shield that covered the entire village from attacks while also helping fight off the demons approaching. Sweat dripped from her nose. Her long soft hair was sticking to her skin. Fatigue was showing. Full demon soldiers were attacking her barrier while the others were trying to keep Inuyasha busy on purpose. But, he had grown tremendously in the last few hours and he was staying to protect his mate above all. Her brown eyes looked ahead of her in shock. Kagome's body was swelling with spiritual powers that were severely threatening and growing in strength. Ororo followed Kagome's line of sight. More demons were coming and clashing against the spiritual powers of her barrier and unleashing attacks with abandon regardless of lives in the way. Inuyasha was fighting them off using the backlash wave along with the monk.

The energy was thick in the air much like the villages she had visited before with Sesshomaru. Spiritual energy clashed wildly with that of demonic energy until it was always palpable. Ororo lifted her hands up into the air feeling for something. It was strange as it hung in the air pulling and pushing the energy that sizzled all around her. Pink and dark matter moved steadily colliding. It was strong almost forming a round shape. Ororo touched it with the tips of her fingers and cringed seeing something about it that was mutated. It whispered things in the air. Fowl words and pleading for more power. Kagome seemed to sense it as well as she shot a stray arrow in the air aimed at nothing. Right before her eyes, it was destroyed by Kagome's purification arrow. Ororo waved her hand in the air having not seen anything like it. After a few minutes of contemplation, she directed her sight to the battlefield before her.

Nothing about this fight was fair or descent. The enemy was killing each other and anyone in the way of their attacks focused on Kagome. Inuyasha seemed to realize this as his body went in front of Kagome and he began taking on their attacks himself. This angered the shadow demons, and they began possessing Tanaka's soldier bodies to attack them with everything they had. Ororo looked around for Tanaka. If he was stupid enough to touch Kagome like the monk did, she could end him too in the same manner. But she sensed nothing. This was a coward's attack. Ororo was infuriated watching the demons come together to unleash powerful attacks against her barrier. Their powers were dark and massive creating two large orbs that almost darkened the sky. They pulsed as it was unleashed by the demons.

"I won't let you hurt my family!" Kagome yelled with eyes glowing dark pink and her hands held out ready to take on the assault. Her clothes whipped about her wildly as her energy built to be released.

Like a true mate, Inuyasha turned and jumped in the way with his sword out ready to take on anything coming for his mate. Both of their powers swelled incredibly. Inuyasha's eyes bled red and the winds shifted ominously as the demons got closer. Inuyasha called on another attack and struck the enemy with everything he had. Kagome's barrier fluctuated and she pushed all her energy as well to aid him. Energy exploded from It all clashed powerfully pushing everyone back. Ororo shielded her gaze and heard the enemy scream in despair. Every last demon lost their lives at the hands of Inuyasha's attack but even he was outdone. One orb was dispelled from their combined efforts and the other orb swayed to the side. Ororo watched in horror as it hit against Kagome's barrier forcefully.

It slammed against her barrier and cracked it all around. Kagome fell to her knees from the force and cried out in pain. She looked up to the barrier with a frightful gaze. Kagome watched and tried her best to pour as much as she could into her barrier to keep it steady, but it wasn't working. She was drained. Cracks slowly crept along the barrier creating lines right before her eyes. In seconds, the barrier broke all around her in a flurry of pink dust. The monk ran to Kagome's side and he tossed his hand up to bring it back up but demons were already pouring inside. The barrier came back up with the support of Miroku's powers, but it wasn't as strong as it was before.

Inuyasha fell from the sky but twisted his body in the air so he would land on his feet. He snarled fiercely and this time held his sword out with conviction. His energy swirled around him working against gravity to lift everything nearby into the air. His hair blew wildly about him and he roared a most ear splitting sound from the pit of his stomach that spoke of his outrage of the attack upon his mate.

"This is incredible!" Ororo crouched low to Kagome's side watching as he waved his sword once and another attack unleashed. Gold and blue light struck out stretching across the sky and the land eliminating everything in its path. Trees, rocks, dirt, water, bodies, and weapons were annihilated right before her leaving nothing to stand. She watched the young king take out the entire onslaught by himself in one blow. His body had sustained heavy damage taking in the brunt of the attacks. "Kagome!" He yelled holding his side that was injured.

Ororo watched as one sneaky possessed shadow demon managed to get close and lunged at Kagome's body. Its claws were out and Kagome turned to her side at the last minute. It assaulted her by jumping inside of her body in the form of black smoke. Kagome's body shook and the black shadow demon was pushed from her body with a blast of purification powers. The creature vanished in pink ash into the night sky. Ororo watched as Kagome's eyes began to grow heavy and she fell to the ground in a heap. Inuyasha's roar echoed loudly in her ears and suddenly Ororo was thrusted back into her current reality.

"Found it, great priestess." Ororo whispered opening her bleached eyes and closing her hand to make a fist. She rested it above Kagome heart. Dark residue had sunk underneath Kagome's skin but it seemed her body had reacted powerfully to thwart the threat. Counter spells mumbled from her lips and she pulled her fist away from Kagome's body. A string of black dust came from Kagome's body. Kagome arched on the futon and cried out in pain. Her powers increased and swirled around her faster. Ororo prayed loudly calling upon cleansing and healing powers of the great sun. The black dust began to turn white descending from her hands then to Kagome's body. Kagome's pink aura arose to entwine with hers to get rid of the threat. From the combined powers, the dark magic vanished when she finished. Ororo looked at the air for a moment and shook her head in disgust dragging one to put in a blessed canopic jar for later examination. Ororo repeated the act a few more times making sure to pull everything that may have contaminated Kagome's body during that battle. Kagome's aura continued to swirl protectively around her body clearly active even beyond consciousness. Taking a deep sigh, Ororo moved her hand back to Kagome's head and gently brushed her bangs out of her face. She was still warm and wasn't truly resting. Her body was active. Ororo stilled for a moment in contemplation of Kagome's state.

A knock sounded and a shuffle of feet shuffled behind her along with objects being placed on the floor. Ororo stood and went quickly to her satchel that she had left earlier in the room. Her hands worked steadily pulling out oils, creams, smokes, herbs, beads, stones, bowls, and powders. Ororo's rage was churning in her chest and she was ready to proceed with the next step. She reached for her sage plant and began praying over it. She lit the bush on fire with an electric tap of her finger and began blessing the air immediately in the room. She waved it above Kagome's body to purify the woman further before turning around to cleanse the air. She did this a few more minutes before setting the sage bush down on a makeshift mantle and going towards the door the get the water she had asked for. She opened the door and bent down to pull the two bowls water and the cloth into the room.

She placed both bowls to her side and began working on the medicine first. She took the dry cloth and soaked it in the cold water. Her fingers reached for her herbs and ingredients that she remembered would help heal stress and calm the body into a sedative state. Chamomile, valerian, marjoram, sage, mint, lavender, and bee venom. She began mashing and stirring in her bowl careful of the amount she added for each ingredient. She mushed it all together until a paste was formed and then added the warm water to the concoction. A prayer went over it before she stood and poured a few drops into Kagome's mouth.

"Drink, young priestess."

Ororo watched carefully making sure she wouldn't choke or drown but steadily pouring very small amounts until the entire mixture was consumed. She reached over Kagome's body to lay her hand against her heated skin that covered her chest double checking for any additional ailments. The wounds she had sustained were healed of her own prowess proving the strength of the priestess beneath her. She placed the bowl down until she noticed Kagome's lips were moving.

"Jewel."

Ororo stilled and looked at Kagome as she spoke in her sleep. She moved her hands to her forehead and tried to soothe her back into rest. Kagome's lips moved to speak to her and Ororo knew whatever she was trying to say, she needed to say it now or Kagome would not rest. "What is it, great priestess?" Ororo listened waiting for her to continue.

"Making a jewel."

Ororo knew exactly what the woman was implying. The group had spoke about it enough and of course through her own travels she had other stories. Also…there was her dreams. Her vision flashed of when she looked at the sky and saw the pink orb. How it glittered unnaturally unlike the stars around it. Kagome and her pack had told her much about the jewel and she knew Kagome spoke the truth. It was all related. Her vision. This night.

She reached for the wet cloth she had soaked in the cold bowl of water. She folded the wet cloth and laid it over Kagome's feverish forehead with great care. With haste she took off Kagome's soiled clothes so that she lay naked before her. Ororo turned Kagome's head over so she could see her mated mark. It was inflamed and yet pink no longer holding the grey outline like before. Ororo covered Kagome's body up with the white blankets and nodded knowing Kagome was going to be ok.

Ororo finger combed her own white tresses back ready to move forward with her next venture. Iset needed a entry point and this would require power that could knock her out for an hour or so. She could summon her assets from anywhere in within her region and not break a sweat. She had summoned her trusted circle members all the way from Greece to Persia. But this was further than she had ever gone or tried. She was attempting to summon someone from oceans and continents apart was almost ludicrous and dangerous. Almost. For anyone else except Ororo. And she would do it. For her new allies and friends.

Priestess Iset was the lead priestess from the halls of the Goddess Nut when she sat on the throne. She couldn't think of anyone else more loyal or powerful in Egypt to her than Priestess Iset. Never had Iset ever had to step foot on a battlefield. But this didn't stop her from the occasional rumble. She always worked her magic best from afar. Iset was strong during the day but extremely powerful at night. Her help had done much to sway victory in her favor on many occasions. Who but Iset to come and swing things to their side again. The make what was hidden, visible. Also, Iset could share with her much information regarding her home during her absence.

Ororo grabbed a bowl and a few vials of ingredients. She took out a white powder and began pouring it onto the floor. Ororo dipped her fingers into the white powder and began drawing hieroglyphic symbols onto the wood of the floors in various locations. Her mouth moved as she spoke of each one and its representation. She poured Egyptian golden sand from a vial and began forming a wide complete circle with it that nearly enclosed the whole floor. With precision, she placed a moonflower in the center of the circle and several precious stones as well within it. She took her blade and cut her hand watching her blood drip onto the white petals of the moon flower.

She focused on the remaining summoning call that she had started. "I call upon the Great Goddess Nut to send me one of her greatest priestesses to bless The Egyptian Empire and serve the Pharaohs. From your temples I ask for Priestess Iset to join me and bring with her the resources needed to complete this task I have been assigned."

The door opened and a black cat crept into the room. Ororo turned her head and watched the door close behind the cat. The black cat jumped onto Kagome's belly and laid down curling its tail protectively around her glowing pink limp body. Ororo watched the cat stare down at her ritual with a grin; unharmed by Kagome's spiritual powers. It cried out egging her to finish the ritual. Ororo nodded and this time used her bloody hand to rub the rest of the white powder into a big triangle in the middle of the sandy circle. A pink paste was made covering the floor and filling in the triangular shape. With satisfaction she pulled away her hand and sat on her hind legs looking at her work. Ororo picked up a green bead and dropped it in the warm bowl of water. She picked up the bowl of warm water and held it over the triangular pink paste.

"Nut pass along my knowledge and my will so that Priestess Iset is prepared to fight under your banner in this foreign land." She called and poured the water over the pink paste. The floor where the water poured inside the triangle vanished underneath it, creating a black hole in the ground that revealed the depths of nothingness. The fire flickered across the wall and one by one the torches blew out leaving her in complete darkness with nothing but the moon and the sun shining through the window. In seconds the black hole began to mirror an alabaster and golden hall with colorful hieroglyphics that reached up the high walls and covered the ceiling speaking of the great love between Nut and Geb. Nut's name was seen above, and she knew she had made a connection to her home. Her body began to shake and her eyes closed to finish what she started. The cat sitting on Kagome cried out and swiped her claws into the air urging her to hurry. The wind in the room shifted and her body heated up.

"It is my will, let it be done." Ororo called out with her palms facing the ceiling once again. When she opened her eyes, everything was gone. The fire on the wall flickered lighting the room having returned. Ororo stood up slowly, looking at the clean empty wooden floor free of sand, hieroglyphics, and paste. She calmed her body down and her vision had cleared to blue storms once again.

"Priestess Iset!" She called out but, didn't see anything or anyone. Panic began to arise inside of her. She did everything correctly and had done the spell countless of times. 'Maybe she didn't have enough power to summon her so far!' She panicked! But clearly the Egyptian priestess had crossed over. The floor was clean so the ritual was successful. "But why aren't you here…" Ororo spoke looking around the room hoping the woman would appear somewhere. "Maybe another power source has opened a gateway for you? But where could that be?"

Meow

Ororo turned her head to see the black cat jump down onto the floor and rush towards the door. The shoji door opened for the cat to get out and run down the hall. Ororo looked back to Kagome and stilled. A smile crept onto Ororo's face at seeing what rested on Kagome's belly now. She walked over to Kagome's body and kissed her on her forehead with great pride. Her hands touched the engraved heavy golden spell book resting on Kagome surrounded in her spiritual cleansing aura. She rubbed her finger along it knowing that Iset was there somewhere and just needed a guide to her. Ororo reached for Kagome's glowing hand and held it tightly between hers. "Do not worry Kagome, you did very well. I will help you now with your task. We need to guide Iset home to me."

Sesshomaru was livid. His white coat was splattered with the blood of his enemies as his feet pounded against the earth. Red rubicund surveyed the area before a loud roar ripped through him. His claws dripped with the blood of those that dare attack his brother's village. He looked to his side and quickly sliced through the tissue, muscle, bones, and skin of his foes with each swipe of his talons. Bodies of the enemy lay all around the village and in the forest in heaps. His men were transformed in full demon forms pushing back destroying anything and anyone that was found fleeing the scene. None of his men were injured and none of the villagers were as well. His brother he had learned had taken out more than a thousand demons by himself with their father's fang and by hand. His soldiers and General was now picking off anyone left trying to escape from the region or were attacking nearby villages. Kagome's cracked barrier was still up and holding well despite it having shattered before. Clearly, his brother and the miko were more powerful than he realized.

The sight of Inuyasha's bruised mate clutched in his brother's bloody arms upon his doorstep was unforgivable. Despite her human blood, Kagome was pack. An attack made upon an innocent female pack member was grounds for the most gruesome death in the Inu culture as they were the bearers of life. To go after one's mate was disgusting. True powerful beings fought each other face to face. Only cowards hid in the shadows preying on their loved ones. His brother's bond with his mate was still fresh. His brother's fury poured over the land as he slaughtered without stopping. Sesshomaru knew he had to let him burn this out of this system. His mind created scenarios of where Rin or Ororo were in such a state as Kagome was. He would be enraged. He cared even less now for propriety. He would mark Ororo as his and have a ceremony later. War was here now, and he would leave nothing to chance.

Sesshomaru watched his brother at a distance amongst the chaos. Inuyasha no longer used his sword to strike down his enemies. They had made their way back to the village still fighting the few demons and shadow creatures left. He stood powerfully with red glowing eyes, breathing deeply as he sliced a demon in half with his sharp claws. He moved with the speed of their father that was unimaginable to most. His aura swirled around him powerfully in a red glow pressing down upon everyone to submit or be cut down. It slightly baffled him how his brother got to him so fast and how quickly they were able to return to his village. He knew mating with Inu's required a lot of power and trust. The power between both the male and the female would pass through each other giving new abilities and enhancing current ones. But, Inuyasha was insanely fast having kept up with him in his white orb. A similar red light had encased his brother as they sped together to his village. Sensing his brother's gaze, Inuyasha turned his head to catch his look. They came to a halt. The wind and grass whipped around their startled movement. Both stood for a second in the middle of the bloody plains with understanding and agreements passing between them under the slow decline of the moon. Lord Tanaka would take his last breath at the feet of his brother for his crimes against the Inu Clan and the Western Royal family.

No Mercy

Sesshomaru nodded his head and both went charging into battle. He leapt into the night air with a powerful kick of his four legs. In a swirl of wind and light, he transformed into his humanoid form. His body fell to the earth lightly and he landed quietly on his two feet in the grass. The dark sky roared with thunderous clouds swirling and covering the stars and the moon. He raced alongside his brother making their way around the entire village picking off the last of them.

Tanaka's soldiers were retreating but the shadow demons continued their assault. The soldiers didn't bear the mark of the Southern Lands but the way they were dressed spoke of demon nobility. It didn't matter. He had announced his declaration of war and would move forward with his promise. He warned everyone at the meeting what would happen if they violated his rules. If it was a war they wanted, then they would get one. He looked back towards the village to see Kagome's barrier was holding up with the support of Miroku and the elder miko Kaede now sitting at his back. The bloodied monk sat on the hill in lotus style pouring blue and purple power into Kagome's barrier while Kaede supported him resting against his back. The old woman looked exhausted and he knew she needed reprieve now. Somehow, his men and himself were able to fight near it and not get hurt. The shadow demons would try to attack the barrier, but they would meet their end from the purification prowess of the miko's barrier. Sesshomaru watched this before yelling to his men to retreat behind the protective barrier. He knew from his past attacks with them that now Kagome's spiritual power would have to defeat the shadow demons and purify the area.

Sesshomaru jumped back to his brother and flexed his aura commanding him to get back or risk possession. Inuyasha snarled back at him and showed fangs threateningly while spiking his aura. Sesshomaru showed his and barked back communicating logic to the enraged hanyou. Sesshomaru experienced already the power of dark magic and he wasn't sure how they were able to break the spell from the last time he and Ororo were attacked. Ororo wasn't there at the moment anyway to help get rid of the possession, so they had to work within the boundaries that they knew. His own aura arose to meet his brother's challenge. Inuyasha sneered but followed his orders knowing he was right but still kept his aura flaring wildly about him to show his Alpha status of his pack. Everyone was behind the barrier except for the shadow demons. Kaede was breathing heavily and her hands had fallen apart in her lap clearly exhausted from the attacks. General Kenji came to the elder woman's side and offered her his clawed hand. Another demon came forth to escort Kaede back to the safety of the giant hut that housed everyone under the watchful eyes of Sango, Kohaku, Kilala, and Shippo. Sesshomaru walked towards the monk who concentrated intensely on his task. He was dripping in sweat holding the barrier up now by himself.

"Can you kill them all?" Sesshomaru asked looking beyond the barrier to see the shadow creatures move around it trying not to get too close. A few were foolish to jump at it and in the process they met their ends.

Miroku frowned. "I'm not as strong as Lady Kagome to keep this barrier of this giant size up and attack at the same time. How she was able to do such a feat is sheer through Kagome. In order for me to do such a thing, one or the other must be sacrificed." He muttered now looking up at the barrier above at the stormy night sky above the cracked barrier.

"This ain't normal." Inuyasha grumbled looking up at the flashing sky lighting in pink and white hues with rubicund vision that matched his brother's. Dark clouds swirled around them from up above rumbling its displeasure. They moved about ominously. The shadow creatures halted for a moment and looked around as if sensing something else as well. Tanaka's men both attacked while some stumbled back feeling the difference in the air. The wind blew threateningly; picking up grass and leaves in its hold and taking it wherever.

"Could it be the Queen's doing?" General Kenji asked. His black and white hair whipped around his body with the wind. His muscles were tensed as he held his fist in the air to signal to his men to hold the line. His sword was drawn resting in his right-hand dripping in blood on the grass. His eyes were no longer brown but were now golden like Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's showing his lineage of being part of the White Inu Clan. He lifted his sword and pointed to the barrier where a few shadow demons jumped and fried. A few more came and looked around before jumping at another crack and attacking with their claws out. "They are testing the barrier for weaknesses."

Sesshomaru looked to the sky noticing how the dark clouds swirled in cohesion with Kagome's barrier but stretched further throughout the entire territory of Inuyasha's village and forest. His nose could smell the scent of Ororo and Kagome in the air as if they were present and flying about. Inuyasha walked to his side and began sniffing as well with confusion. The scents of the two women seemed to sneak upon them and he knew Ororo was doing something despite her distance. Both women were all around them yet they weren't there physically. A pink and white light struck from the sky at a distance into the forest catching everyone's attention. It struck far away behind the older miko's hut deep into the forest lighting up the forest in a bright light. A ripple of ancient and powerful energy echoed through the area and into their bones.

"That seemed to hit the well." Miroku spoke looking to Inuyasha now struggling with maintaining the barrier.

Sesshomaru arched his eyebrow at him. He had heard the truth regarding Kagome's time travel abilities. At first he found the story to be almost fable in nature but he sensed no lie on the lips of his brother that told him the tale. Despite it being so farfetched, it cleared up a lot of confusion regarding Kagome's personality, cultural customs, and behavior towards others. Especially, her complete disregard to authoritative figures. They watched the lightning bolt vanish and something powerful swept across the land. Suddenly the barrier began to take on a white hue to it. They all watched the cracks in the barrier fill in until it was whole again creating a barrier that mixed with pink, white, blue, and purple energy.

Miroku dropped his hands feeling relieved from the aid he could feel swelling and along the barrier. He looked to see the barrier holding against the shadows. It pulsed with static white energy that reminded them of the Queen's electrical might. The possessive demons outside of the barrier looked among each other almost seeming apprehensive and backed away. Miroku stood up with the help of his staff and walked to stand with the other men that gazed into the sky and ominous forest. Foreign words whispered from the forest and filled the air until it was among them growing louder in tone. The skies lightened and grumbled causing the men to look up into its depths unsure of what to make of the new situation.

"What is that?" One of Sesshomaru's soldiers yelled out pointing at a star that seemed to be falling from the storm brewing above. Everyone watched as it got closer until they noticed it wasn't a star at all. A sharp Sai weapon wrapped in sapphire energy rained down. It fell and landed in the skull of a black shadow demon in front of them on the other side of the barrier. The creature screamed painfully before vanishing into cerulean blue dust. Suddenly, more stars started falling from the sky and attacked every shadow demon outside the barrier. Hundreds of blue sharp Sais rained from the heavens and landed in the bodies of the shadow demons in a flurry of blue light. Their blood curling cries of pain and anguish sung loudly into the night. Blue dust began to rise and sweep across the lands purifying everything before dying down. One by one they watched as all the creatures were destroyed with reports of the men on the other side of the barrier that the same was happening everywhere. Blue dust filled the air as everyone watched everything unfold before them. Within seconds, the barrier that surrounded their village dropped and swept across the land and the air in a powerful wave of pink and white purification energy.

Inuyasha and Miroku shared a glance before both men raced off towards the well. Sesshomaru watched them head towards the powerful aura that pulsed from the forest. He tightened his hand on his sword at his hilt and went after them as well unsure if it was friend or foe waiting for them. He raced passed them and landed at a distance from the ancient bone eaters well among the old roots of the green trees. Powerful cerulean energy swirled around the well. Sesshomaru's eyes focused intensely, feeling something formidable move around inside of it. Inuyasha, Miroku, and General Kenji rushed to his side and stopped as well to stare at the well before them. Inuyasha's warning snarls could be heard breaking the silence of the forest. Light flashed above them in the sky lighting the area but it did not attack.

"Ahkn net sum tek wunim." Spoke a woman's voice from within its depth.

"Do not blast any attacks at the well. It will destroy it." Miroku advised knowing how hurt Kagome would be if she found the well destroyed. General Kenji looked confused at the warning wondering what was so important about saving a well.

A tanned hand with painted turquoise dipped finger tips reached up over the lip of the well digging into the old worn wood. Another came as well showing a slender arm with muscle that pulled a body forward. The men stood in silence watching the woman climb out of the well to stand on the grass before them. A woman dressed scantily in gold and jewels stood proudly holding two blue sharp Sais in her hands. Her skin was almost golden in color with a rich brown undertone that reminded them of the sand you found at the beach. A black skirt covered her front and stopped at her knees with gold stripes stitched along the sides. Her chest held only a gold and black cloth wrapped around her front covering her breast, leaving her stomach bare. A gold chest plate lay over it providing very little protection. Across her body was a black satchel like that of Ororo's. Tiny braids covered her hair in a thick bob that was short in the back and long in the front. Braided bangs covered her forehead and tiny gold cuffs were attached to her hair. On her head was an odd golden beaded headdress. Her emerald eyes were lined with black kohl similar to Ororo's and her skin held colorful markings on the skin like birthmarks.

She smirked at them and tilted her head to the side assessing them all. Words came from her mouth in almost a haughty tone. Her hands holding her Sais in her hands turned upwards towards the sky. She spoke and none of them knew what she was saying. In a quick motion she pulled her leg back and went into an aggressive battle stance that reminded them of Ororo's fighting style. Her Sais twirled in her hand before steadying themselves to be aimed in their direction. Inuyasha flicked his claws warningly and whatever was left of Miroku's spiritual aura, flared.

Sesshomaru glared resting his hand on his weapon. He knew it was no coincidence that the woman who seemed to have the same origins of Ororo would show up now. Her style of clothing and features were enough to conclude this was of Ororo's doing. The look of arrogance on her face as she stared them down was proof of that as well. Her eyes landed on him and he could feel a ghostly touch picking upon his aura. Knowledge swirled in her eyes as she turned her gaze to the rest of them.

General Kenji shook his head remembering the lesson he had learned with Empress Ororo. She too dressed provocatively but even more so. Her power that rolled off of her unashamedly spoke of her relevance to the Queen. He put away his sword into his sheath and stood tall catching everyone's attention. He held up one hand. "We mean you no harm. Did the Queen send for you? Who are you?"

This seemed to have caught her gaze. The woman stood upright cautiously and walked forward. Everyone held up their weapons unsure of what she would do. The sky crackled and thundered loudly above. The woman stopped in front of the General standing head to head with him. Lightning struck the earth at her side causing Inuyasha and Miroku to jump back. The woman snapped her head at it with wide eyes with her lips moving but not a sound coming out. Her head snapped forward and her expression changed to one of understanding. In seconds the blue Sais she carried vanished from her hands as she gazed at him and the others behind him.

A thick accent much heavier than Ororo's poured from her mouth. "You must be General Kenji." Her eyes went to the others. "And you are the monk Miroku and two Inu Kings Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. My majesty has told me this." She crossed her hand over her chest in greeting. "I'm High Priestess Iset of the Grand Temple of the Goddess Nut and Honored Cousin of the Royal Egyptian Queen Ororo. I deal with all order of stars, prophecy, and fate." She looked at the General and cupped his cheek affectionately shocking everyone including the young demon with her behavior and lack of respect for personal space. "So this is where the sons of Anubis reside." She muttered underneath her breath looking in awe at him and the other Inus. "It is an honor to serve alongside you in this time of war."

Inuyasha's eyes had changed to their golden color now. He was calm and confused as to who the hell was Anubis. Was he missing something? Was that another name his father went by? "What the hell are you talking-"

"I must go to my queen before sunrise." She cut him off looking deep into the forest and extracting her warm hand from the General's cheek. Her moment of fascination had shifted to concentration. "I work my best spells during the night and it seems that there is very little left of it."

General Kenji stood there still in shock at how quickly her emotions and actions shifted. The scent of moonflower and lilies filled his nose. She looked straight into his eyes without blinking which was jarring to say the least. So far every woman he had met through his Lord and his brother seemed to throw out the window traditional Japanese customs and practices between women and men as well as the roles they played in society. But of course, none of these women were weak and all of them were notable across the land for their actions. Kenji thought to the demon slayer Sango and then to the priestess Kagome. Then to Rin and to Ororo. He could even tell that the Kaede woman was by no means traditional given how she fought in her human old age against their foe this night. And now this woman.

Sesshomaru heard the young woman before him speak of spells and he wondered of the army Ororo spoke of. Could she have summoned them now? Were more on their way moving throughout Japan headed towards his home? The priestess's power poured from her unashamedly as she looked about the area around her taking in the new landscape. "You are loyal to your Queen?" He asked watching her carefully to be sure she wasn't anyone that posed a threat from her homeland.

Iset walked around General Kenji to look at the sky as the clouds moved in one direction lighting the forest as it went. "I have been summoned by my Queen to aid her in the task of ridding Egypt of a its threats. Both foreign and domestic." She spoke as if she had lived in Japan before and studied their language. "My Pharoah, Gods and Egypt have my undying loyalty and I wish to report to her the unfortunate tidings that have happened during her absence that I witnessed. Do know from this point on, that if anyone gets in the way of the true ruler of Egypt…my Empress Ororo or Egypt's divine will, they will die without trial or care from my hand." She walked forward passing them to walk into the forest. They watched the sky move with her and they knew a powerful player had been added to their ranks. "As it has been written, so shall it be done." In a puff of blue smoke she vanished and the clouds above began to disburse.
