StaticShock01 - Thanks!
Okay. So, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but in this fic, any Pokémon can be any color, but the canon color of the Pokémon is most common.
I've inserted my friend and I as the main characters in this, but I don't want to reveal what our real names are, so I decided to combine our real names with the species name of the Pokémon we chose.
Also, the Total Drama characters, as well as a few characters from a different show are Pokémon in this. Some of the Pokémon I chose for specific characters are quite random, and I didn't really have a reason for choosing a certain Pokémon for a certain character.
My friend asked if I could include her OC Alex in this, and I said yes. Also, my friend and I stayed up past midnight working on this chapter. It was fun!
I look out onto the sea as Wingull soar above and Goldeen leap out of the water and splash back down into the lake.
A gentle breeze ruffles my leafy fur, scattering pollen across my pelt.
I am what's known as a Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon. I have pale green fur and a tuft of fur on my chest that's a darker shade of green than the rest of my fur. Surrounding my face is a green marking that looks like leaves. Additionally, I have a few brown leaves on my forehead styled like swept bangs, which sets me apart from other Sprigatito.
My friend is an Eevee the Evolution Pokémon, but she looks a little different from most Eevee I come across. Most Eevee have brown fur and brown eyes, but she has pink fur and cyan eyes. Apart from that, she looks like any other Eevee, with the long, pointed ears and small, black nose, as well as a cream-colored mane and tail-tip.
We are on a yacht headed for an island in Muskoka. Neither of us has ever set paw in Canada, yet we decided to audition for a show taking place in the majestic Land of Lakes.
This place truly is beautiful, but in my mind, dread lingers on.
The contracts said we will be competing to win one million dollars at a five-star hotel, but what if there's not a hotel? What if... the contracts lied? I also might have skimmed a few pages, and I regret it. I didn't bother reading the fine print either, and I know that will come back to bite me later.
"Did you read the contract before signing it?" I ask my friend.
"I was going to," she says, "but my trainer accidentally spilt his coffee on it."
"What?!" I exclaim in disbelief. "Why did you sign it, then?"
"Because he told me I'd be staying at a fancy hotel with a fancy swimming pool and fancy room service and a fancy-"
"Okay, I get it," I say, "but really? Just really?"
Despite being slightly annoyed, I can't help but be amused. Maybe there is nothing to worry about, I think as an island starts to come into view.
Ugh. Litter is scattered all over it, and there are some crumbling wooden cabins on the island but no hotel.
No…
No hotel. The contract did lie! I was right to be worried!
The yacht slows to a stop as we arrive at the dock.
My friend hesitates for a second before jumping off the boat and onto the dock. I hesitate longer, thinking,
What if I trip? What if I do or say something stupid? It will be broadcast on TV, and I would be humiliated!
Are we even being filmed right now?
I see a man standing on the dock but no cameras. I don't think I have to worry for now.
I carefully step onto the dock, one paw at a time, trying my best to not slip up.
The yacht speeds off into the distance.
"Sprigannia, Keevee," says the man who I can only assume is the host.
"Where's the hotel?" I ask, hoping I just missed it.
"About that," says the host. "There isn't one!"
"How DARE you?!" Keevee says, glaring at him, "I signed that contract, and there's no hotel?!"
Oh, no, is she about to…
Keevee lunges at the host, but before she can land an attack on him, I leap forward and pin her to the ground.
"You can't attack him!" I say.
"What else would you expect from me?!" Keevee protests, "he brought us to this disgusting place, and there's no hotel! Why wouldn't I attack him? It's-"
"If you attack him," I say, "you'd be disqualified and would lose your chance to win a million dollars!"
"Are you insane?! We-"
Before she can say more, the host intervenes. "The next contestant is arriving," he says, cutting her off.
This next contestant is an orange, bipedal Pokémon with round, black ears and a tiny nose. She has two whiskers on each cheek and has a long, black tail. She is a Dedenne, the Antenna Pokémon, however, a few things set her apart from other Dedenne. She's wearing glasses, which most Pokémon don't, and as she smiles, I can see her teeth has braces on them. She's also bigger than most Dedenne. Most Dedenne are small, but this one is about the size of a Pikachu.
"Beth, what's up?" the host greets her.
"Chris McLean!" Beth exclaims as she runs up to him and hugs his leg. "It's so incredulous to meet you!"
She lets go of him and approaches Keevee and I.
"Hi," says Beth.
"Hi…" I say.
Before a conversation can start, the next contestant arrives.
Thank goodness.
This contestant is a large, bipedal, ursine Pokémon whose body is covered in brown fur. He has a triangular, black nose, and he has long claws extending from his forearms. He's an Ursaring, the Hibernator Pokémon. He looks like any other Ursaring, except for the fact that he's wearing clothes. Most Pokémon don't wear clothes. He's wearing a green orange-D shirt and pants.
"DJ!" says Chris, giving the Ursaring a high-five.
"Hey, Chris," says DJ. "You sure you've got the right place here? Where's the hot tub at?"
"Yo, this is it," says Chris. "Camp Wawanakwa!"
DJ mutters something as he walks over to join Beth, Keevee and I.
The next Pokémon arrives. She is a humanoid Pokémon with thick fur and long ears. She's a Raboot, the Rabbit Pokémon, but she looks a lot different from most Raboot. Her fur is mostly black, but the fur on her head and limbs is teal, streaked with a darker shade.
"Hey, Gwen," says Chris.
"I'm not staying here," says Gwen.
"These contracts say otherwise," says Chris, holding up a stack of papers. Gwen uses a move called Ember to burn the contracts to a crisp.
"The great thing about lawyers is," says Chris as he holds up another stack of paper. "They make a lot of copies."
The next Pokémon who arrives is… A Shaymin?! I didn't even know they existed! Her coloring is a bit different from what I expected Shaymin to be, but she is without a doubt, a Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon. Most Shaymin have green fur, but this one has red.
"Hey, Zoey," says Chris.
"Hi!" says Zoey as she smiles at her fellow contestants.
"Hi," Beth greets her, "I'm Beth."
"Meet Mike," says Chris as the next contestants, an Eevee arrives.
This Eevee is rather normal looking, but with darker fur than what most Eevee have and a black mane.
"Hi!" Zoey says to Mike.
"Hi," says Mike with a smile.
The next contestant arrives: A bipedal Pokémon with small, black ears, a red nose and long, white whiskers. He is a Dewott, the Discipline Pokémon, and he is carrying a small guitar case. Most Dewott are blue, but he is green.
"Contestant number nine is Trent," Chris announces.
"Hey, man," says Trent to Chris. "I saw you host that ice-skating show. Nice work!"
"Thanks," says Chris.
"I saw that!" says Beth. "The Ninetales dropped his Vulpix partner on her head, so they got immunity that week."
"Oh, no!" says Zoey. "Is she okay?"
"I'm not sure," says Beth.
"I hope she's alright," says Keevee.
The next two contestants arrive. One is a small, quadrupedal, canine Pokémon and large, pointed ears as well as a triangular nose. She also has six fluffy tails, which means she is a Vulpix, the Fox Pokémon. Unlike most Vulpix, she has hot-pink fur. The other one is also canine and quadrupedal. He's covered in long, golden, fluffy fur, and he has slender legs as well as nine long and wispy tails. He is a Ninetales, also a Fox Pokémon.
Wait- Those two are Josee and Jacques from the show we were just talking about. I remember seeing them on the News. They seem to be locked in a heated argument.
"I told you, I'm sorry!" says Jacques, seeming annoyed.
"Just don't mess everything up again," says Josee, turning away from him.
I can spot the next Pokémon who is arriving. He's waterskiing using the yacht. He has a long, fluffy tail, beady brown eyes, and electric sacs on his face. He is a Pawmo, the Mouse Pokémon. Most Pawmo are light orange, but this one is red.
"This is Tyler," says Chris.
As the yacht stops, the waterskiing Pawmo is flung onto the dock, and he faceplants onto the hard wood.
Tyler gives a thumbs-up, signaling that he is okay.
The next contestant is a large, bipedal, vulpine Pokémon with a pointed snout. He is a Zoroark, the Illusion Fox Pokémon. He looks different from most Zoroark. He has green-and-black fur, and his hair is styled into a mohawk. Additionally, he has several facial piercings.
"Duncan," says Chris.
Duncan takes one look at the trashy island and growls, "I don't like this place."
"He's a little intimidating," Keevee whispers to me.
I kinda agree with her, but whatever.
The next contestant is a bipedal, feline Pokémon with two tails, folded ears and a mane of fluff around his neck. He is a Meowstic, the Constraint Pokémon. Most Meowstic are blue with white hair, but this one is green with dark tan hair.
"Ezekiel, what's up?" says Chris.
"The sky?" says Ezekiel, looking confused.
Wow, this guy's stupidity is… impressive.
Keevee and a few of the others start laughing. I can't help but join in.
"What are you laughing at?" says Ezekiel.
"Oh, nothing," says Keevee.
The next contestant is a feline Pokémon whose tail has a curved, scythe-like shape at the end of it. She is a Purrloin, the Devious Pokémon. Most Purrloin have purple fur, but this one has black.
"Heather," says Chris.
"This is not a five-star hotel," Heather says, seeming disgusted by this place.
"Too bad," says Chris. "Looks like you're stuck here."
"You can't make me stay here!" says Heather. "I'm calling my parents."
The next contestant is a slender, feline Pokémon with a curled, spring-shaped tail. She is a Glameow, the Catty Pokémon. Most Glameow have gray fur with the tail-tip, snout, paws and ear-tips being white, but this one is pink, and the normally white areas are blond. She is being followed by a group of humans who are taking pictures of her.
"Dakota, smile for the camera!" says one of the humans.
Dakota flashes a smile at the camera before joining the rest of us on the dock.
The next contestant is a small, quadrupedal, orange, rodent Pokémon. He is a Pawmi, a Mouse Pokémon. He is playing a video game, but Chris takes it away from him.
"Hey, give that back!" says the Pawmi.
"Sam, didn't you read the part of the contract that said no outside electronic devices were allowed?" says Chris.
"No," says Sam. "I hardly read the contract at all!"
"Did anyone properly read the contracts?" says Chris.
Silence.
The next contestant is a quadrupedal canine Pokémon with black stripes and lighter fur on his muzzle, chest and tail. He is a Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Most Growlithe have orange fur, but this one has dark gray.
"Brick Growlithe reporting for duty, sir!" he says to Chris.
The next contestant is a black Eevee with a red mane and tail-tip. His legs and the tips of his ears are also red.
"Alex!" says Keevee.
Huh?
"Keevee!" says Alex.
Wait, what? They know each other?!
"Sprigannia, this is my boyfriend Alex," says Keevee.
Oh, %*$*.
Okay. I at first wanted all the characters' introductions to be in one chapter, but that would be too long. Sprigannia and Keevee will meet the other characters later, so it doesn't matter. This will be the only introduction chapter. I thought the introductions would get too repetitive after this, so I stopped here.
100 contestants are a lot, but this story will only focus on a few per chapter. Also, this whole story will be from the perspective of Sprigannia and Keevee.
Sorry it took so long to update. My friend and I were able to finish this chapter while we were camping together and we stayed up past midnight. To be honest, it wasn't the first time we did something like that.
For a while, I didn't really feel like writing, but few days ago, I felt like writing again. I have so many story ideas, but I'll try to wait till I finish some of my other stories before publishing new ones.
Also, I looked at the Pokémon's descriptions on Bulbapedia for inspiration on how to describe them in this story, but I tried to write it in my own words and style.
It might be a while before the next chapter is published.
I think that's all I have to say for now. Bye! Please review!
