After a conversation with Alyssa later that night, after the Time Force rangers had left to stay with Wes, Taylor decided to confirm her suspicions by confronting Max and Danny the next morning.
"Don't be intimidating," Alyssa had said, but of course Taylor didn't listen.
Walking up to the boys, who were sitting that the picnic table, with her arms crossed, the blonde gave them a hard look and nodded toward the door before turning on her heel.
Once satisfied that they were far enough away, Taylor called Alyssa's name, and the other girl came into the area.
"Are you trying to ambush us or something?" Max asked his teammates. "If this is about Vanessa and Kendall, we can still do our-"
"This isn't about your girlfriends," the blonde crossed her arms. "You've been seeing visions, too."
"Way to be subtle," Alyssa muttered to her best friend who only shrugged in return.
"Visions?" Danny questioned, but the girls had known the black ranger long enough to know that he was hiding something from them.
"What are you talking about?" Max started to ramble about them being crazy when he suddenly stopped. "Wait. 'Too?'"
Alyssa sighed. Taylor was hardly one for conversation, so the brunette took over. "For the last couple weeks, Taylor, Eric, and I have been having some visions. Like memories from a past life or something."
"Kendall and I have, too," Danny spoke up. "There was even one with Robin Hood and Maid Marian, we think."
"What have yours been?" Taylor stared Max down with icy blue eyes.
He was completely alone in the ship's hull, even with the hundreds of other men, women, and children taken from their tribes, as he had been, crowded around him. At every cannon blast, at every gunshot, at every clash of swords, he jumped, knowing that any moment could be his last.
Suddenly, the door opened and someone dropped in. Long red hair tied back with a ribbon, half hidden by an old brown leather hat, and icy eyes that bore into his own.
A pirate.
One who had taken over the slave ship.
Now standing in front of him, cutlass in hand.
"What's your name?" A distinctly feminine voice, one that didn't fit the pirate standing in front of him.
"Mandla," he was barely able to get out, shrinking into himself.
"How old are you?" With those words, he noticed the strange accent. It was different from those of his tribe as well has the tribe that had taken him. It was similar to that of the British sailors, but still very different.
"Thirteen," he whispered.
"Just a baby," the pirate sighed and looked up toward where the door was still open. "Jack!"
Another pirate climbed down the ladder, jumping from one of the low rungs. "Yes?" His accent was British. That much the boy could tell.
The fiery haired pirate pointed at him with the cutlass, making the boy jump a little. "He's coming with us."
The newcomer didn't bother to look at the other slaves around him. Only focusing on the dirty, small for his age, child. "Alright, then. Come along."
When Max came back to the present, he saw that some of Taylor's hair had fallen in her face, partially covering her eye and mimicking the look of the red haired pirate's hat.
"Is that what having a vision looks like?" Danny asked Alyssa quietly.
"Yes," Alyssa responded, having seen Taylor and Eric have shared visions before. Then, looking to her teammates, "what was it?"
"A slave and a couple pirates," Max didn't look away from Taylor.
The blonde shook her head and closed her eyes, breaking the eye contact between herself and the younger ranger. "It was Anne and Jack again," she finally looked to Alyssa.
"Who are Anne and Jack?" Danny questioned.
"Anne Bonny and Calico Jack," Alyssa said. "A couple of the pirates I told you that we're learning about in class."
"That first pirate," Max trailed off, looking to Taylor who nodded.
"That was Anne Bonny. Or Tom, as she was called at that point. It was before she told the crew that she was a woman." The blonde paused. "She was pregnant with her first child."
"We really need to figure out what's happening," Alyssa sighed, slightly changing the subject.
The blonde nodded again and looked at Danny. "Get your girlfriend. I'll get Eric. Maybe we can make some sense of this all together."
Before the four rangers could do anything else, however, Taylor's growl phone started ringing. "Yes? Ok. We'll meet you there." She hung up and looked to her team. "There's an Org downtown."
