Destroyer U.S.S Spurance, At location:'Artifact one'
The Spurance is a Buzz of activity as Sailors shuffle around the deck, The Enterprise looms in the distance as a Intimidating shape. The Carrier had Multiple Plane's taking off and landing every hour, and the Spurance had also seen a Helicopter land or take off.
Captain Johnson of the Spurance was in the bridge himself, Earlier, there had been News that a U.S Satellite had been able to detect their artifact using INFRARED and other scanning mechanism's. It had been more surprising when it had been able to detect two other locations.
He had, of Course, Asked where.
As it turned out, There was another one in the Soviet Union, only 40 Miles east of Moscow, and one in Southern Canada near Calgary. They had no idea if the Soviet's had investigated their's, and the Canadian's told them they had not investigated their's yet.
Once the Higher-Up's had heard that the Soviet's had one of these "Blue Sphere's" Within their Territory, they had rushed to help them discover the Mysterious they wanted to weaponize it?He doubted that they would be able to, it had shown little harmful or volatile properties so Scientist said it was a wormhole, but he still doubted it.
He had been hearing plan's about sending the Spurance into the Sphere, He had protested, heavily. He knew it may had been Considered insubordination, but he cared for the live's on the ship, and when he had voiced his concerns, the Captain of the Enterprise had actually Listened to him. They had agreed sending the Spurance in without prior knowledge would jeopardize way to many live's to be considered. The Debate had raged on for over a hour, until it was suggested that sending a small helicopter in would be the best course of action. They had agreed that it would jeopardize the least amount of life and would also get possibly better result's, So they informed the Higher-Up's in the Military of the plan, and they had given it a Thumb's-up. The Helicopter would be fitted with Advanced equipment and other Gadget's he did not need to Explain. The Navy also insisted on sending a submarine in case the Soviet's wanted a glimpse inside Artifact one.
He had been listening to the Radio constantly now, Not taking any real breaks from it. The Sun had was high in the sky now and there was little cloud cover, meaning the sunray's were cast on the ships and the entire ocean.
The Radio buzzed and he listened.
"This is AE Helicopter 7, Callsign AE7, We are ETA 10 Minutes out, Hold your position please!"
Those 10 Minutes may had been the longest 10 Minutes of his life up to that moment, he studied the radio like it was a Alien, Watching it almost like he thought it would move. Once 8 Minutes had passed, the Radio Buzzed again.
"AE7 here, We are ETA 2 Minutes and in Visual Range, Stand by, over."
He quickly rushed out of the Bridge, He ran across the deck towards the stern where the landing pad was.
He made it just in time for the Helicopter's landing, when he got there, it was lowering onto the pad slowly, then it landed.
One of the pilots stepped out.
"Sir." he said, the extended his hand, the pilot shook it.
"Hello sir."The pilot said.
"Before we continue, I just want to make sure you know exactly what this mission is and your job?"
"Yes Sir, I am Fully aware of the Mission's Expectations of me and the Danger's it may pose on the crew of this helicopter's" The pilot said.
"Good" Captain Johnson said, "Now, We will begin retrofitting the Helicopter now with the Reqiured Equipment for the mission."He said.
The Pilot nods and the Other steps out.
"Both of you, Come with me, we will speak on the bridge."
On the Bridge of the Spurance, all 3 of them-Pilot and Captain, were looking out the window.
"Men, There is a good chance that this wormhole is not a real wormhole, but could be anything else, There is a Solid chance you will not be returning"
The Pilot nods. "I am aware sir...I am aware"
The Captain of the Spurance nods.
"There are many chances of thing's going wrong, but I-No we, are hoping that it goes right, I Figured I would let you know your Bravery is Appreciated by all of us."The Captain said.
"T-Thank you Sir"
'I think it's time" Captain Johnson said
"Yes sir" He said, he nods to the other pilot, and they both walk out of the bridge and into the helicopter.
The Helicopter's rotors begin to spin, Speeding up, The Helicopter begins to lift of the ground, rising into the air, the Helicopter begins to move forward away from the ships.
the Helicopter zooms away, and approaches the blue orb, It stops just short, and everyone hold's their breath.
Then it Move's forward and vanishes into the Sphere.
