Ever since I started working to become more of a guardian of childhood. I have been more involved with the guardians, and spreading joy and fun to children. Even though Jamie stopped believing in me once he grew up. I understood that that was gonna happen because even though we're immortal they aren't and life goes on. I was sad at first though, but even with that I was still happy. I still hang around my lake because it just gives me comfort and it was next to Jamie's old place to. I also started to stick around the guardians more to help with restoring the belief in children. While also getting more believers myself. I did it also for other reasons. With me being alone for so long I wanted to feel wanted so I started helping more. But I also helped cause it made me feel good and I hated when people were sad. It always made me happy to see everyone smile especially the children. After we defeated pitch everything had finally started to go back to normal for the guardians and I.
It is now my 8th year as a guardian now. Me and bunny are now finally getting along and I now started to understand what Sandy's signs meant. Baby tooth and me sometimes collect teeth together with Tooth. And North talks to me about new toy ideas and I help with some, but not many.
I had just got done spreading snow in a town in Minnesotas so after spreading it over some other parts of the country. Since the continent is pretty big it took a while, but not to long. After I had finally finished. I yelled to the wind, "Take me home!" The wind picked up around me and swirled happily. I started to head back to my home with the wind. But, I saw some kids playing in the snow near a frozen lake. I stopped mid flight as I looked at what they were doing. As I realized they were putting on skates I looked at the lake. I could tell it wasn't completely frozen to a point they would fall through instantly. I had a scared look and I quickly flew down onto the lake. I put my staff down onto the ice quickly. The rest of the lake froze over as the power coursed through my staff making sure it would freeze solid. A breath broke out from me from being held in which I hadn't noticed. As I walked to the shore I sighed from relief. When seeing the kids start to play on the now fully frozen ice on the lake. I had a disturbing flashback to when my sister inches from death on the cracking ice.
I closed my eyes as I sat down on the snow by the shore. I laid back then looked at the sky. As snow started to fall as the children played. I thought to myself, only a few more hours till Christmas. I should probably visit the North Pole to see how things are going. I opened my eyes and started to get up. But suddenly I could feel someone watching me. I looked to the children, but they were still playing. I said in a loud-ish tone, "Who's there!" I got no response so I just shook my head in annoyance.
As I was about to leave Bunny jumped out of nowhere making me jump and fall to the ground. Bunny started to chuckle with a grin on his face. "Got you" I looked at him and laughed lowly while shaking my head. He then stuck out his paw helping me up with a light yank. "So Bunny why ya here." Bunny looked up at me and explained, "Well remember when you started helping at the pole with Christmas. North promised you if you did a good job he would let you help in the sleigh. Since he knew how much you loved the sleigh." Jacks eyes widened with a happy look. "Are you saying North said I can help in the sleigh." Bunny looked at me with a grin and said, " Well yes he did and he sent me to find you and tell the big news." Bunny smiled softly as he stared to shiver.
"Bunny lets get to the Pole you are starting to shake," Jack said with a concerned look. Bunny stomped his foot twice opening a tunnel. Without hesitation Bunny immediately jumping inside as Jack soon followed. The tunnel closed behind them as a flower bloomed. After a minute a person in a black cloak stood out from behind a tree. They turned around and walked into a shadow and soon vanished.
The man then appeared out of the shadows and walked into a dim room. He walked slowly to the center of the room. The man then walked to a crescent shaped table. He then knelt to the people who were sitting. The man in the cloak said in a low voice as he bowed his head, "My lords I have found some information on the spirits wear bouts." The person in the center of the table looked at the cloaked person. "Lift your head and speak," The man said calmly.
The man in the cloak stood and spoke, "My lord's the spirit's wear bouts will be with Santa Claus tonight."
Another at the table spoke sternly at what he just heard, "Santa Claus... why does it have to be him of all people that's with him."
The one in the center sighed, "You are dismissed, Zero." The man vanished into the shadows once more. "Brother, what is our next move?"
The man sighed once again, "We can't really do much with Nick being with the spirit. Especially since he is way to strong for anyone to handle alone or in a group. Even one of us just being one on one would be suicide."
"Well we need to do something soon or we might not get the chance again!" One yelled angrily.
They both got up with their hands on the table getting ready to shout at each other.
When the man at the edge of the table looked up at them and stood up. He crossed his arms and leaned against the side of his chair. "We might have to do something risky then... but we don't really have much of a choice because just like Rage said. Who knows when the next time we will get the chance to get rid of there most powerful comrade. Even with him being a child he is growing more powerful every passing day." Everyone glanced up at the person. The other two sat down agreeing to what he said. "He's right. I'm sad to say it, but what could we possibly do with Nick there just to get in our way," one proclaimed. Everyone except the person on the other end of the table started thinking up ideas. But before anyone could think of anything. The person who had not said anything had finally stood up silently. "Everyone I might have a idea." He then held out a orb and placed it on the table. He then tapped the top making it open and revealing a weird looking arrow.
They all had shocked faces, "Where could you have found an ancient artifact?"
"I wouldn't say it is a ancient artifact, but we can use it to our advantage."
Bunny started hopping fast through the tunnels. Jack had to fly fast to keep sight of bunny. Bunny and me then went into another tunnel. The tunnel had been going the same way for a few minutes. As the tunnel started to head upwards a light opened up. Jack flew out first and landed on the peak the mountain near the workshop. Then bunny jumped out and onto the snow. He then crossed his arms and started hopping towards North's place.
The work shop was busy since it was nearly Christmas. North was getting stuff into the sleigh with the yeti's. When Phil then went through the doors and looked at North. North looked back and stopped what he was doing. North shouted in the yeti's language saying, "Everyone get everything loaded up quickly it almost holiday." He then turned and walked out with Phil. As he exited everyone started to pick up the pace.
Jack and Bunny were in the globe room. As North walked through the doors he yelled joyfully, " Greetings, I expect you are doing well? Jack couldn't help but smile. North exclaimed, "Looks like someone's excited. Anyways I expect you know the rules of the sleigh, correct?"
Jack glared at 'em, "Of course I do North I can name all of them, easy." North just laughed at the comment.
"Hey Jack your lucky I have never helped on the sleigh on Christmas," Bunny said jokingly as he looked at 'em from the window sill.
Jack chuckled. "Anyway Jack remember don't push yourself to hard out there. We all know how you get in extreme heat." Bunny said in a serious tone.
Jack nodded. "Come my boy we are almost ready." North then paused. "Also I forgot to mention, Phil will be coming along with us."
Jack immediately asked, "Why?"
"Well you see I always bring one of the yeti's with me to keep an eye on the reindeer" He gave Jack a look.
"Why would the reindeer need to be kept an eye on?" Jack asked because of curiosity.
North stopped and turned to look at Jack and sighed looking hurt. He knelled down to be eye to eye with Jack. He put his hands on his shoulder. "Well the thing is something happened on Christmas before you came along. One Christmas Day I left my reindeer alone and when I got back their reins were cut. And I lost my reindeer and Christmas was ruined. So I now leave the yeti's to watch the sleigh. Jack had a confused look.
"Who could have cut the reins."
North looked at him sternly, "I still don't know who did it to this day, but I am now prepared if they try it again."
"Well that's good that your prepared in all." Jack said with a small smile.
Both North and Jack attention was then pulled to Phil who had said something in yet-ish. North immediately stood and looked at his watch. "Phil's right it's time we head out." North then entered the room of the sleigh. He turned to a few yeti's, "Is everything ready to go." They all nodded. North walked to the sleigh and both Phil and Jack followed.
As soon as Jack sat down. The sleigh was off going into the sky that was now darkened from dusk.
It had been at least eight hours since Christmas started and me and North were delivering together. My flying made it a lot quicker for North. But once we got to Africa I started to slow down cause of the weather, it was just way to hot for me. So North made me stay in the sleigh so I could cool down. With that, after hours of helping carry presents in the continent and putting them under trees and stuffing stockings. I had to sadly cool down from the continent we had gone to before then. But I surprisingly was done before north had even got back to the sleigh. Despite me being a little over heated. I was then back in the sleigh waiting until north got back from delivering presents.
I was now starting to cool down and relax from being a little hot. With Phil next to me holding the reins of the reindeer. We were on top of a flat building. "Hey Phil what's the next continent we're going to? I know we have been to three others, so what's the next one," Jack asked? Phil pulled out a small globe from a secret compartment in the sleigh. He pointed toward a continent known as Asia which was huge and was right next to Europe. Jack then commented, "That's a lot of ground to cover that is definitely gonna take a while. He scratched his head looking worried. He explained with a sigh, "Well this is gonna be hard especially because of the mixed weather and climate." Phil looked at Jack with a smile. With that smile it gave me some comfort, but the climate still worried me cause of the hot weather in some parts. I smiled back hiding my worried expression.
That's when some reindeer started to act scared. I jumped up off the sleigh toward them. I started trying to calm them down which worked only a little. Phil was petting the reindeers heads. Also trying to calm them down. One of the reindeer looked at me in the eyes looking scared but then nudged me. It started looking off in the distance before trying to step backwards on the roof. I looked where it was looking my attention was caught by something in the alleyway.
As I looked at it from the sleigh's side. I couldn't see what it was fully because it looked hazy and fuzzy and strangely static like and it was purple. (Like a TV screen with no connection) I thought maybe it was a person till it started moving around quickly. I soon called out, "Hey Phil you seeing this." Jack looked at Phil to see if he could see it too. Phil walked over to him trying to see what he was talking about. But he didn't see anything there. He just turned around to face Jack then crossed his arms. He had an annoyed look in his eye as if he did something wrong. He then said something in his language that Jack did understand cause he said it a lot. Jack had a sad look and said, "Then it must have been my imagination then." He walked back to the sleigh and sat down bring his legs to his chest. Then looked down to the ground.
Phil had pulled out some candy canes and feed them to the reindeer. They immediately calmed down. But as he turned to get to the sleigh he looked back at Jack he immediately regretted what he said. That Jack was just playing around. He could just tell by the way he looked in sleigh was he hadn't lied about seeing something.
But right as he got to the sleigh to say sorry. He heard North. Phil looked to the roof tops seeing north getting closer so he shouted something in his language. (which Jack still doesn't understand fully) He looks up to see where he is looking. He sees North just a few houses away. North had a huge smile on his face. As north jumps in the sleigh moments later he takes the reins from Phil. Handing the sack he was carrying to Jack. The sleigh starts moving as he says, "buckle up." As the sleigh starts moving faster. He shouts, "We need to get a move on."
Jack started to puts the sack down, But sees a figure in the corner of his eye. He quickly looks toward the back of the sleigh after setting the bag down. Just having one hand keeping him from falling off with his staff in his other hand. He looks out over the roof tops and streets. After seeing the same thing he saw earlier. He whispers to himself, "I knew I wasn't imagining things." But he still couldn't understand what he was looking at. Should I tell North? He thought to himself. He remembered when he tried telling Phil so he decided not to tell. Afraid of the same reaction from North. He saw the figure run through alleyways.
He starts to get a bad feeling when suddenly the sleigh came to a sudden halt. He nearly falls off after he hits his head on the sleigh from the sudden stop. He steadies himself before he could fall. He opened his eyes then tried to find the figure but gives up after seeing nothing. He could feel his head ache from the sudden hit. He then comes to and hears a reindeer struggling. He turns around to see the same figure on top of one of the reindeer. But Jack could tell this one was different than the other one he saw. This one was blue instead of a hazy purple. North was shocked but also showed a mixture of anger. And Phil just stared at the the thing with the same expression. They were both standing looking ready to fight.
Jack had a confused expression appearing all over his face. I soon was off the sleigh flying close to the back feeling many people's gaze. But he knew he couldn't fly well since he was still trying to cool down from the heat. He couldn't tell where they were coming from so he made sure to stay close. He was looking at the figure then his friends. He was scared but concern for them as well. Phil then looked up and had a shocked face and yelled something. North looked up immediately, North had a worried look now as I glanced at him. I also looked up which surprised me when I saw three other figures but not the one he saw before was there. There was now a green, red, and orange figures above them. They all looked the same except for there different hazy colors. North quickly looked at me with a concerned and worried look as he took out his swords. I soon realized that he wasn't looking at me but was looking beside him. I soon felt like someone was watching me from behind. I soon felt a shiver up my spine. North then said in a worried tone, "Jack don't move." I felt something on my back it was sharp and it could definitely pierce his skin with ease. He could just tell that this wasn't going to go well. He was still in the air a little ways from the sleigh, but it was still to far to make a quick enough move to get away from the sharp object that was at his back. He could slowly feel it barely moving up his back and then he felt it against his head. He could feel his fear start to consume his body until it felt like it was enough to suffocate him.
North was look him in the eyes then looked at the figure behind Jack. He pointed his sword at the figure behind Jack and his other at the one on the scared reindeer. Phil wanted to grab Jack and pull him away from the purple figure before he could hurt him. He looked at how far away Jack was and he wasn't in arms reach from the sleigh. He looked at North not knowing what to do. North was about to strike at one of the figures.
A smirk appeared on his blurred face making North and Phil flinched at the sudden change of expression. Making North stop in his tracks. Then a sudden sound broke through the silence a loud bang.
The last thing I could remember was a sudden pain in my skull and their faces turning to a shocked expression. Then the next thing I knew I could only see darkness. I could hear screaming, but I couldn't tell what or who was screaming. But the screams became faint as I soon heard and felt the wind pushing against my body. But I could still feel the pain in my head becoming worse. My body soon felt numb I couldn't breathe. I couldn't feel my staff in my hand anymore. Before a sudden throb began. My ears started ringing loudly to the point I couldn't hear anything but the loud sound. Then the darkness soon came and I couldn't see, hear, move, or speak all I could feel was my head hurting. And then soon nothing at all.
I hope you liked my first start off story. And yes I will continue writing, please give me ideas though. My posting will be kinda short but I will try and post often. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter.
By the way I do not own ROTG or any of the characters except the figures.
sadly the chapter is short but be patient with me I am just starting off I need time. I will also fix the mistakes in the chapters later.
PS: If Jack ever gets to over heated he will not be able to fly or use many of his powers. If he is over heated for a long time he would most likely pass out from exhaustion and start to freeze over. You can usually tell if he is starting to get over heated if he has a fever and isn't as pale. In this frozen state he would sleep for hours at a time until his body is back at a low enough temperature, which would be at least 32 degrees. But after this state he will be very weak after waking up.
The guardians DO KNOW: Jack can not be in temperatures above 60 degrees for too long. If in these temperatures for too long he sleeps.
The guardians DON'T KNOW: If he is in this frosted state for to long it can lead to him going into a coma.
