Shaggy, Scooby, Courage and Coraline were silent, the foursome intertwining as they slowly walked in. Courage furrowed his brows at the state of the living room, it was dark green and had webs stringing everywhere, the bug-like furniture was staring them down as they stumbled and creaked.
They walked closer to the fire place, not paying attention The the green flames as a light flowed above the Beldam, "So... you're back and you brought vermin with you," she sneered as she lifted her head and the teens took a step backwards, her face was cracked, her hands now threading needles as her back arched forward, spikes poking out almost painfully as she watched them.
Heavy breaths escaped from Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's nostrils, and their pupils shrank from fear.
"ZOINKS!" Shaggy yelled horrified, as he went behind Coraline.
"RIKES!" Scooby shrieked, as he went behind Shaggy in fright.
Courage screamed in horror as he went behind Scooby.
The black cat meowed in caution as Coraline pushed his friends behind her, a fierce glare on his face, "No, we brought a friend."
The Beldam hummed, standing up and walking towards them with her many needle-like legs. "You know I love you," she giggled and poked Coraline's nose, she did the same with Shaggy, Scooby and Courage.
It felt like a snake, cold and heavy.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were all frozen in horror, struggling to stop themselves from shaking.
"You have a very funny way of showing it," Coraline gritted out as her glare turned darker.
"So where are they?" unfazed by the hostility she was getting, the Beldam smiled, holding her hands out, "The ghost eyes?"
Coraline didn't take her eyes off of her as he pulled out the handle, pearl, and ball, holding them out. But before she could grab them, Coraline pulled them back, "Hold on. We aren't finished yet... are we?"
The Beldam sighed irritably and frowned, "No, I suppose not," she turned and walked a few steps before a small, mocking laugh came out of her, "After all, you still need to find your old parents, don't you?"
Coraline nodded as Shaggy took the pearl and handle and put them back in her bag.
The Beldam smirked, her finger pointing up as the green stone swung around it, "Too bad you won't have this."
Zoinks! Shaggy thought, as he, Scooby and Courage all backed away in terror. They all had a horrible feeling this last challenge might be harder than they thought.
The Beldam chuckled evilly as she threw it into the fire, watching in glee as it sizzled and burned. As that was happening, the ball in Shaggy's hands twinkled and the small ghost girl's face flickered. Coraline, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage shared a look before moving away from the Beldam for privacy.
"Be clever," the ghost girl said in worry, "Even if you win, she'll never let you go!"
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's hearts leaped into their chests, as their blood drain from their faces. How were they gonna get out of here now?
Coraline tapped their shoulders and pointed discreetly to the little door. The same thought came to their heads and they nodded.
Courage shrugged, feigning nonchalant as the Beldam turned to him, "We already know where you've hidden them."
"Hmm," her voice was gravelly, almost annoyed as she fixed her posture, now standing as she waved her arm, "Well, produce them."
"Like, they're behind that door," Shaggy pointed at the little door, the four watching as the Beldam smirked and stalked past them.
"Oh, they are, are they?" she whispered as she waved her hand commandingly and the beetle blocking the little door crawled out of the way.
Coraline, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked around as the sound of wiping glass filled the room, Scooby turned his head to the fire place and tapped Coraline's shoulder as the black cat jumped out of the red bag, "There!"
He pawed at the snow globe as Mel wipes the glass again, shivering with Charlie next to her as the frost covered them again.
Coraline tears up as she reach for it, "Mom... Dad."
The Beldam coughed up the key and looked back at them.
Scooby folded his arms, "Ro on. Ropen it. Rhey'll be there, alright!"
The Beldam clicked her tongue in mock sadness as she slowly opens the door, no parents being seen, "You're wrong, darlings. They aren't there."
"Now..." Shaggy, Scooby and Courage, breathed deeply to calm themselves as the Beldam held a needle and thread, a wicked smile on her face, "You're all going to stay here forever."
"No. We're. Not!" Coraline picked up the black cat as he yowled, throwing him at the Beldam face as she took the snow globe and put it her bag.
The Beldam screamed at the cat's claws.
The kids and puppies saw their chance of escape and were getting ready to ran to the little door.
The black cat hissed and yowled, raising his claws and sticking them into her buttons, yanking them off, "No!"
The Beldam cried out in horror and anger as the buttons bounced to the ground, throwing the hissy cat onto the beetle and holding her face, "YOU HORRIBLE CHEATING RATS!"
She stomped the ground and Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all watched in horror as the wooden planks lifted and the kids and puppies screamed as they fell into the middle of the web, while Coraline was holding the red bag tightly.
Coraline grunted loudly as she hit the bottom, she and her friends gasped and quickly moving out of the way as the Beldam laughed and dived towards them, climbing outside of the web.
"NO!" she raged, looking around blindly and frantically as the kids and puppies climbed higher, "Where are you?! You selfish brats!"
The kids and puppies climbed inside of the web, struggling as Coraline's bag gets caught in the sticky substance and pulls, she cursed himself as her bag finally got it free, almost dropping it as the kids and puppies held onto the web in dread as it jiggles and vibrated.
"RLIMB!" Scooby shouted to his friends.
They all moved faster with as the Beldam cackled and climbed after them. They finally managed to climb to the door as Coraline, took the key as they climb to the tunnel.
"YOU DARE DISOBY YOUR MOTHER?!"
Scooby grunted as he kicked the Beldam right in the face, falling back as Coraline crawled and tried shut the door.
The four friends grunted with effort as the Beldam pried the door open slowly, the ghosts helping as their hands phased through the kids and puppies.
Courage yelled out, "Please shut it!"
Now with the extra strength, the door started to close as Courage screamed out and kicked the Beldam's hand off, officially shutting the door. It was quiet as Shaggy, Scooby, Courage and Coraline stared at the severed needle hand with wide eyes. They looked at each other shock and hidden awe.
"Like, lock the door!" Shaggy cried.
Coraline didn't need to be told twice as she grabbed the key and locked the door, as soon as that happened…
"NOOOOOOOO!"
Coraline fell back into her friends, making them grunt as the four quickly crawled and moved faster as the door advances towards them.
"DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T LEAVE ME!"
"Rove, guys! Hurry!" Scooby yelled and yelped as he rolled out of the door, anticipation running through his, Shaggy and Courage's bodies as Coraline looked back and crawled faster.
"I'LL DIE WITHOUT YOU!"
Coraline fell onto her back as she made it out, while Shaggy, Scooby and Courage stared wide eyed at the desperate door pushing towards them in alarm as Coraline slammed it closed and locked it.
Coraline flew back into her friends again as the door gave one last big push. And it was silent.
Panting heavily, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all hugged each other with fright and relief.
Coraline crawled towards Shaggy and gave the key to him as he put it in his pocket, looking into the bag with Coraline, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all frowned in confusion and slight dread when the snow globe wasn't in there.
Coraline didn't say anything as he leaned back on her hand to look around, stopping when she saw the liquid inside of the snow globe on the floor and looked up to the broken souvenir.
"Roes this mean...?" Scooby trailed off at the sound of the front door opening and closing, two figures covered in snow walking to the living room.
"Kids? We're home."
Coraline gasped and turned around as Shaggy, Scooby and Courage smiled.
She ran towards them with open arms, "Mom! Dad! I missed you so much!"
Mel looked at Charlie in confusion as Coraline pulled away, putting her hand on her hips when Shaggy, Scooby and Courage walked closer. "Missed us?"
"Oh-no!" she whined, sighing as she shook her head, "You three broke my favorite snow globe."
Coraline hummed and turns to the snow globe before shrugging, "We didn't break it, It must've broke when you escaped!"
"Like, we're glad you dudes are okay!" Shaggy laughed as Scooby and Courage nodded their heads vigorously.
Mel then gasped at the way they looked, "And cut your knee, Coraline."
Charlie bent over to be face to face with Coraline, hugging his suitcase close, "Coraline, I asked you to count all the windows, not put your knee through them."
"But?-" Courage stuttered, his face dropping into confusion and shock.
"Well, get yourselves cleaned up," Mel smiled and punches Charlie's shoulder, making him yelp in surprise," We're going out tonight!"
Charlie chuckled as punched the air, "We got a lot to celebrate!"
"You're talking about your..." Coraline tilted her head as he slumped.
Scooby exhaled as he finished for her, "Rarden catalog?"
"Of course!" Mel looked at her as if it was obvious, walking out of the living room with Charlie behind her, "What else?"
Courage ran a paw through his ear, "But look at the snow on your clo..."
They watched as the snow melted into the clothing and seemed to dry just as fast.
Mel looked at Courage with a raise eyebrow, "What's gotten into you four?"
Charlie only shrugged when she looked over at him.
"Oh, before I forget," Charlie peeked his head in the entryway, giving a friendly smile to Shaggy, Scooby and Courage, "Shaggy, your aunt called, she is coming most likely in a couple of days, no more then two!"
"Wait... really?!" Courage was ecstatic, a big smile coming over his, Shaggy and Scooby faces, as they walked into the kitchen.
Well that's all for now. This is vakarns signing off.
