I just saw the full ending of the AOT anime, and AOE is dead, and it is godawful and I wanted to take a break from my current writings of my other stories to write about it.

I believe I wrote this originally when that horrible manga ending came out, but I never posted it. So here, you go.

The Ending of Attack on Titan is the worst thing I have ever seen. Nothing changed for the godawful manga ending.

So first:

. The Genocide. It was pointless. At first, it seemed like Eren was committing genocide to protect Paradis, BUT no, he was just pulling a half-ass Lelouch. But it doesn't work in AOT because Eren is committing genocide, he is committing the worst atrocity known to man. And what makes it worse is that he's not doing it for Paradis's sake, he's doing it for this redundant orchestrated plan that in reality would drastically fail for a number of reasons. He literally doomed his entire country and then gave up like a bitch. Erwin and Hanji and all of them died for absolutely nothing.

One; No country would just forgive Paradis. No one. I do not care if a bunch of Eldians and Marleyans band together and try to stop the Rumbling. Paradis is still responsible for the Rumbling, there are Paradis residents who are supportive of the Rumbling still. The amount of supporters outweighs the saviors. In fact, there is a faction of Yeagerists now. The Yeagerists have control of the government. The Yeagerists are still extremists who are willing to kill anyone who opposes the supposed ideology of Eren Yeager.

Speaking of which, what about Historia? Because many readers were led to believe that Historia was working in tandems with Eren. Many people were led to believe that Historia was pregnant with Eren's baby, why? Because it made more sense than the farmer man. Eren and Historia had so many scenes together, and so much chemistry with one another, that it just made sense for them to be with one another and have a child out of love in order to break the cycle of hatred. But nope. Historia has no purpose. She is pointless, just like the farmer and that baby.

Ymir- What the hell? So Ymir was a character that was built up to be crucially important to the story. She was the first titan and had the powers of a god. But...her role was just nonsense in the last chapter. The poor girl was in "love" with her abusive kidnapper because she loves him. That's why she was smiling at Mikasa kissing Eren's head. Because she loves her rapist. (Isayama, what the hell?) And I did not think that 138/anime was romantic, there is no chemistry between Mikasa and Eren. There never was in my opinion. It was only Mikasa who loved Eren, Eren did not love Mikasa. He never showed any affection or basic respect and decency to her at all. Mikasa kissing Eren represents two things to me; Mikasa can't take a hint and get over her crush. And two; the scene honestly had a nonconsensual vibe to it. Mikasa is committing necrophilia basically, so there is no consent from Eren. So when Ymir is smiling at this, it gives this scene even more disturbing context because Ymir is so brainwashed to still love the King. The King raped her, forced their daughters to cannibalize her body, forced her to kill armies, and just made her life a living hell. At least that's why the Ymir backstory chapter is portrayed. Ymir didn't smile once during that chapter. But yet Isayama wants us to believe that Ymir truly loved him?! Why? (Seriously this chapter feels like a totally different manga.) There is no consistency at all.

So anyway, Ymir goes back to her rapist, I'm not even calling him her husband because their whole "love story" is just revolting and disturbing, and she disappears with the centipede. Why? Why the hell does Ymir disappearing in the spirit world make the living Centipede die in the real world? It was attached to Eren so it's a living thing, it's not a spirit like Ymir. It's an actual living creature. The centipede doesn't get a final fight scene, it dies offscreen, and everyone is turned back into humans.

The Love Story with Mikasa and Eren- Holy shit, so I am not a major shipper. I like ships that are cute and endearing, but for most part, I'm interested in the plot and story, I don't care much for the romance unless it is important. I guess the relationship with Mikasa and Eren is important, but it's not depicted well. Mikasa is obsessed with Eren. She is codependent on Eren and their entire relationship is toxic. Mikasa has no backbone and no respect for herself. And since the whole alternative universes/time loop theories were not canon, that means that in 138, Mikasa was just going crazy. She was suffering from delusions. And now in chapter 139, it turns out Eren turns a 180 and does love Mikasa and can't stand her around another man. Like what? What the fuck is this? Eren is a petty, possessive, demented sociopath and Mikasa is a wet blanket with no semblance of self respect. A boring static character really in my opinion, meaning she doesn't grow during the course of the story. She never changes, she never learns any valuable lessons, her goals and objectives remain the same to the end, and overall her entire existence just revolves around being a satellite love interest.

And since when? Every single time, this girl has tried to show him any affection or care, Eren would push her away. He mistreated her, rejected her, and was just horrible to her. Like if you told me that Eten hates Mikasa, I'd believe you. But yet he loves her. Eren turns into a simp, an incel. That means that if Mikasa just confessed her love to him, they would have run away and let everyone die because he is a simp.

I'm going to get to the character butchering of Eren's character in a minute, but my God, the romance is so poorly written. How do you go from "No, stay away, I hate you, Mikasa." to "I love Mikasa, and I don't want her to be with anyone." What is this sappy wattpad writing bullshit? Seriously this is something you would read in a bad fanfic on wattpad. It made more sense for Historia to end up with Eren from a narrative standpoint, it made more sense or better yet no one at all. But it was all so pointless.

Eren's character;

Eren Yeager was a very unique character. He was one of the rarest Shonen characters you could find. Isayama managed to subvert the tropes of a typical Shonen main character with Eren. He was powerful, he was cunning, he was intimidating, and imposing. He wasn't like the other shonen MC where they are selfless and forgiving and kind. No. Eren was the complete opposite of all of that. He was willing to do whatever needed to be done in the name of freedom. He killed innocent people, he killed children, he forced his father to commit murder, got his brother killed, he caused his own mother's death, and so on.

But in the end, Eren just dissolved into a whiny, pathetic little bitch. No cleverness, no badassery, no strategies, nothing. This is the same guy who manipulated his own father into murdering the Reiss family to give his young self the Attack Titan. And THIS is what he ends up like? Some pathetic, crying incel who whines about loving Mikasa. Are you kidding me? What is this? This is not Eren. Eren would never give up. That's his entire character. To never give up, but he just accepts his defeat and dies. The man has the powers of a god, with another god in toll. But yet he goes down like a bitch. AND to rub some salt to the wound, it turns out that Eren CAUSED his own Mother's death. Purposely and directly. Yeah. So Eren created his own motivation by killing his own mother. Eren is demented. He is absolutely demented. This is the dumbest writing choice I have ever heard in my life.

Now talk about Eren's convoluted plan, but it is absolutely clusterfuck of nonsense. The man just massacred thousands upon thousands, just so he could be defeated and the alliances look like heroes. Are you fucking kidding me? First of all, this plan was a huge gamble. Because in real life, no one would care. No one. Paradis would be nuked regardless. (Evident to the epilogue.) All Eren did was justify Marley's hatred. He made things ten times worse and then ditched. And second of all, it destroys all of the motivations of Eren. It truly does. That fight nonsense means nothing, I'm going to kill them all means nothing because he didn't complete the Rumbling.

And also the gang nearly died like ten times trying to stop him. The Beast Titan throwing rocks at the plane, the Colossal Titans coming towards the port, Floch, the Resistance, the whole fight on Eren's back. It would have made so much sense if Eren was just trying to kill them because he prioritized the safety of his country over his friends.

So in all, Eren just gave up. He said fuck it and leave Paradis to defend itself WITHOUT Titan SHIFTERS. Marley is still around, other countries are still around, Yeagerists are still around. And they are still fighting. Only this time, there are no Titans anymore. For now. But all that means is that eventually, SOMEONE who holds a grudge against Paradis, in general, is going to build a nuke and blow that island up. (Which did happen in the end.) Zeke's plan was actually the better one compared to Eren's because at least it would have WORKED.

Here are some of the plot holes;

Eren's dream, what did he dream about? And why was he crying?

Why did Historia ask Eren if she should have a baby? Who asks that? What a pathetic red herring! It doesn't make any sense.

Why did Grisha tell Zeke to stop Eren? What did Eren show Grisha in the first place to convince him?

How are there any semblances of peace after a genocide? I know I sound like a broken record, but this would not realistically happen! Everyone should be going into a full-blown war right now, all the nations vs Paradis. Peace talks are just white noise at that point. 80% of the world is GONE and you want to be DIPLOMATIC? Eren left the world worse than it already was. Titans were not the problems, it was the people who sent the Titans to Paradis.

What was that whole "I can't sacrifice Historia" nonsense if there was no relationship between them? Why?

The Centipede. The centipede creature was introduced at the very last minute and given very little information about it. All we know is that it created all the titans, it is a parasite, it lived for centuries, and it infected Ymir when she was dying. But yet with all of this buildup, the centipede was killed off-screen. The creator of all titans, one of the main figures of the show is KILLED offscreen. It just disappears with Ymir and that's it. Why? How? Where? It's so lazy. This is such lazy writing, a copout. That's what it is.

All in all, the ending is a waste of a groundbreaking series, and AOT will be infamous for this awful ending alone.
