Chapter 1
Athena walked through the school halls, scurrying to find the school library. As a young kid, she has always loved reading, and she still does now. Her father, Zeus is the CEO of Olympic Air Company, producing different products that purify and cleanse the air. Her step-mother, Hera, is a house-wife. She is very strict and rarely smiles. Athena has siblings, Artemis and Apollo, they are twins, younger than her for three years, at the age of 15. Another younger brother, Hermes, quite the trouble maker, age 14.
Father was always biased towards Artemis, always lets her do the fun stuff, fortunately, Artemis was quite the reasonable young girl. Being the bookworm Athena is, she always helps father think of new designs for the technology in improving air quality, only earning the occasional praises from him.
Athena walked around the school, finally finding the grand doors of the school library, 'Aha!' she thought to herself. She walked inside, embracing the quietness and peace in the library. She sat down at a table and started to study.
Unfortunately, the person next to her kept on fidgeting with a pen, making her annoyed, "Will you please stop that?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, it's just that this question is really, really, hard," Athena looked up to see the most mesmerizing sea-green eyes.
"H-hi" Athena stammered, the boy around her age, with raven-black hair responded with same answer.
"Perhaps I can teach you," Athena said after recollecting herself.
"You can try, but it will be hard," the boy said.
"Alright, I believe I haven't introduced myself. My name is Athena, 1st Grade, I like to come to the library to relax or study," Athena said.
"My name's Percy also 1st grade. I come here to the library to… Actually I don't know, but I guess it is close to the classroom of my next period," Percy rubbed his neck sheepishly.
"Nice," Athena said, putting down her pen.
"Well, mind helping me with this question?" Percy asked.
"Sure," Athena leaned closer to take a look at his question, suddenly aware of being a bit too close to him, she blushed.
"Well, this isn't so hard. Hydrogen is the only element that does not contain any neutrons, I think it was in the curriculum last year," Athena said.
"Oh man, I must've missed it because of swim practices. Oh shoot, I must've done it wrong in the test," Percy said, suddenly realising.
"Doesn't matter, at least you got to get into a university," Athena chuckled.
"Well, thanks Athena, I guess I'll catch you at lunch," Percy said, giving her thumbs up, then rushed out of the library when the bell rang.
Athena stared at his back as he rushed out, the picture of him already carved into her mind. Athena shook herself out of her thoughts and went to her next period. Economics.
"Athena," Percy muttered under his breath, not listening to the teacher talking about marine life. To be fair, he is the top-student there and the teacher sometimes gave the wrong information. Ever since he met Athena, he could not get her out of his head. Her grey piercing eyes kept on appearing in his head, those grey pools was really something he could get lost in.
Percy has a twin sister, Aphrodite and a younger brother, Hephaestus, at the age of 14, and also a younger sister, Estella, age 14, twin of Hephaestus. His father is the founder of three water parks and is the CEO of Atlantic Water Resources. His mother, Amphitrite, is a mother with high hopes, hoping that her children could at least excel in one thing. Percy is next in line for taking over his father's businesses.
"-the gravitational forces exerted on the Earth by the moon, and to a lesser extent, the sun," his teacher, Mrs. Mavis, informed. She looked at Percy staring at the clock, spinning the pen. She slapped her hand on the desk, "Mr. Jackson! Mind telling us what I had been teaching just now?"
Percy could hear his classmates snickering, "I'm pretty sure Jackson won't know," a jock, David Wilson, laughed. He is the most well-known bully in the school. To be honest, Percy doesn't really know why he is in the class, so far, David is really clueless in this subject.
Percy stood up, "You were teaching us about tides. Which are formed by the gravitational forces exerted on the earth by the moon, or, to a lesser extent, the sun," Percy repeated. Looking as David's smile disappeared gradually.
"That is correct, Mr. Jackson. You may sit down. Mr. Wilson, one warning," Mrs. Mavis said, lifting her glasses and went back to teaching. Percy flashed the class a lop-sided grin, making the girls stare at him, before sitting down.
"As I had been saying, when the highest point in the wave, or the crest reaches a coast, the coast experiences a high tide. Next, we will move onto the next topic, but I'll talk about the homework for this topic. Find an article about tides and express your opinions on it and how it was formed, use the information you got from this lesson. Then, you will need to present it, the speech must have at least 200 words," Mr. Mavis said.
Suddenly, the bell rang. "Well, I guess that will be all for today. You may go to your next class," Mrs. Mavis informed. Percy rushed out of the classroom. Finally, a free period. As he was rushing through the halls, he bumped into someone.
"Oops, I'm very sorry," he said, rubbing his head.
"Oh, no, it's alright. I'm sorry," a familiar voice rang out.
"Athena?" Percy looked up to see the grey pools.
"Percy," Athena noted.
"What's your next period?" Percy asked.
"Foreign language, you?" Athena asked.
"It's my free period before Greek," Percy said, walking Athena to her classroom.
"Oh really? The period after this is also Greek for me, too," Athena said with a bright smile.
"Nice! I guess I'll see you at Greek then," Percy said, giving her his trademark grin as she went inside the classroom.
"See you, then," Athena said.
