The Front Lines: L.T. Season 01 Episode 01
Terry Mcginnis had finally met his biological mother one Felecia Hardy and she'd asked him to come back and visit again some time. He'd nodded and pushed a button with his flying vehicle called Gossamer then coming to pick him up and he'd jumped into the vehicle and headed on back to his base of opperations called The Nest where Peter Parker, his mentor, had been checking things on the computer.
"So, find what you were after?" His Mentor figure questioned looking over at Spider-Man who'd taken off his mask.
"Ya, and I think I finally know what the new costume needs to be completed." He'd answered back going to run a program on the computer and putting the fininishing touches to a new costume design before using a specialized printer to make the costume for him.
"Hm.. Interesting design." The elder man spoke looking at the design while Terry had gone to try it on for size.
"It feels right." Terry answered back walking off to go and put on the new costume after it was ready.
He'd come out not long after now dawning a mostly purple costume with green spiders on the arms that had spikes coming from them along with them attaching to the main logo on the chest that looked like a large spider that had given off the look of being sorta like a skull. The eyes had a unique pattern but was also vastly different to the old design and atop the mask was what looked to be catlike ears made into the costume all tied together with the addition of a weblike cape on his back.
While he'd been changing a distress signal had come from Aquagirl on the front lines and Peter says "Just in time."
"Ya." Terry answered back tossing an envelope over to Peter. He'd then hopped into Gossamer and flown off to see Aquagirl battling a fire creature. "Just in time." he'd then stated before firing off a Cryogenic Missile at the creature freezing them in their tracks as Aquagirl waved at him and he'd jumped out in the new costume.
"Whoa, I'm liking the new costume, got a new name to go with it?" Aquagirl questioned them looking over at his new costume.
"Still Spider-Man." He'd answered back about what he was calling himself and looked over at the fire creature and knocked onto the ice of it.
"I like the cat ears." She'd teased him and looked up at this fire creature that was frozen solid now. "No idea where this thing came from, but need to figure it out. So, any ideas."
"Only guy from my Rogue's Gallery would be Magma, but that guy's dead. So what about you?" He'd answered back about what could have made it before asking her if she knew of anyone.
"Not that I can recall sadly, but are you sure that Magma was gone?" Aqua Girl answered back about not remembering either and asked more about Magma.
"I was there when he died He only had moments left and was going to use it to set off an explosion as revenge for being mutated." Spider-Man then answered back "Spider-Man to Nest, any ideas for where this thing came from?"
Peter had been looking at the papers that were in the envelope distracted when Spider-Man had radioed in asking about the situation. "Huh, oh, ya. There's plenty of people whou could, especially if it had been magical in origins."
"How do we find that out exactly? Phantom Hawk isn't here so we can't use his Nth metal, Aquagirl can you sense magic?" the Spider then questioned about how to figure that out and looked over asking the fellow hero if she'd been capable of doing so.
"No, my Hydrokinesis and Telepathic Abilities are just a trait of the royal Family's genetics." Aqugirl answered back shaking her head no.
"The new costume has all the same features of your previous one, try the scan function." Peter then told him and Terry nodded hearing that.
"Right, swapping now." He'd spoken switching to a scanning function backing up to scan the creature from head to toe. "Looks like there's some sort of tech device inside it, but I can't get a clear picture. Should I risk bashg the ice so that I can reach it and get a better scan?"
"You should do whatever you think is the right call." His mentor figure stated to him letting them make their own decision for this one.
"Right." He'd stated with a sigh and then struck the ice causing it to crack where he'd hit and then moved up the entirety of the creature before they then shattered completely and the tech began to drop, though he used his webbing to catch it. "Alright let's see what we've got here." Terry began to scan the tech and discovered something useful on there after trying the x-ray scans on it and showed it to both Peter and Aquagirl "There's a logo, recognize it?"
"It looks sorta familiar, but I can't place where it's from." Aquagirl answered back about the image that he'd shown them.
"Fortunately, I do. Or should I say Unfortunately." Peter sighed about recognizing the thing and though they couldn't see him do so Terry raised an eyebrow under his mask.
We then see Gossamer flying through the air with Spider-Man in the pilot's chair and Aquagirl in a passenger seat behind him that was usually stored away in a small gap at the back of the vehicle for the sake of room. "Doctor Aloysius Animo, he was one of Ben and Albedo's old rogues." Terry stated to Aquagirl as they were flying "Got the info from original Spider-Man, and where to find him."
They'd gone together to a labratory that had been built atop Animo's old apartment building and Terry uses Gossamer to get them up top and dropped off Aquagirl before jumping down onto the wall and crawling to look for an empty room sliding up the window and going inside. He'd used Stealth Mode to get up to the rooftop and open the door for her. "Bout time." She'd stated and Terry checked the Schematics of the building.
"Looks like most likely place is here." He'd told her gesturing to a room and they'd gone through the building quietly looking for where they might be.
A security guard had opened one of the rooms they were hiding in to avoid being sceen and sees them but shuts the door and walks off stating "Not getting paid enough." as he does so.
The two eventually found Animo's chamber and went inside where there was a projection of Animo's head questioning "Who dares enter the chamber of Doctor Animo!?"
"Whoa, wizard of Oz much." Spider-Man stated to them seeing the projection that had appeared in front of them.
"So, where's the man behind the curtain?" Aquagirl questioned looking at the floating head that was floating in front of them up and down.
"Who. Are. You?" Animo's floating projection questioned them asking just who they were "I don't recognize either of you."
"Spider-Man, this is Aquagirl." They'd answered back introducing himself and the green haired girl in response ot the question.
"Buddy, I know Spider-Man and you are not the one I know." Animo told them as the two started looking around the room ignoring him since he wasn't a threat like that.
"Original Spider-Man gave me his blessing to take on the mantle." The New Spider-Man explained to him about that one. "Honestly I thought you'd have been dead by now, you're in your what, 80's 90's by this point?"
"If I were alive I would be." The Projection stated and the two stopped to stare at him confused on that one with the projection vanishing " revealing a brain floating in fluids. attached to different wires. "Take a good look this is what my brilliance has gotten me. I can't even die in peace because the bastards at this lab wanted to pick my brain after death."
"Keeping a man's brain alive after their body is gone without their conscent? That's immoral, Unethical even." Aquagirl stated to them about what's going on.
"Illegal even." Spider-Man then added to that situation as well. "Give us everything and I promise we'll do whatever we can to help you."
"You wanna help me?" Animo questioned opening up a device remotely "Inside is everything these people have ever done to me. Take it and go. Get this place shut down and let me finally die."
"I'm afraid they won't be able to do so." A voice called out as Aquagirl put the device away in a storage part of her suit. "They won't be leaving here at all." The voice then added snapping their fingers and making more of the fire creatures appear though smaller than the one Aquagirl had faced earlier.
"Wanna Bet?" Spider-Man questioned looking upwards and jumping up onto the wall using a taser web on the sprinkler system with the sparking causing it to go off and spray down starting to douse the fire guys.
Aquagirl then used her Hydrokinesis to forcibly pull the water down faster breaking the sprinklers apart in the process and flooding the room putting the fire creatures out and shorting the thech that was keeping them stable. They'd heard something rattling and see the tube that had been keeping Animo's brain starting to rattle.
"NO!" The guy yelled out as the tube then was busted out of the wall flooding the building more and washing Animo, the guy that had sent the fire creatures, Spider-Man, and Aquagirl out through the window of the floor they were on and Gossamer had flown over picking up the two heroes however the tube and the man had both hit the groundwith a splash with the water starting to drain down into the sewer systems below.
That was when the authorities showed up and Spider-Man and Aquagirl gave them everything, along with Animo's testiment to what happened and the two had taken Animo's brain to Albedo so he could decide what was best for this situation.
"Y'know, I used to enjoy beating up on you when I was younger." Albedo stated to Animo's brain about what they were doing.
"Then let it be my last hurah, to shut down that place for good. Release me so that I can finally enjoy the aferlife without the headaches of dealing with you all." Animo's voice spoke coming from the tube.
"We'll try to make this painless." Albedo spoke changing into a fusion of Alien X and Atomix before calling "Everyone back up." which they all did and he blasted the tube completely vaporizing Animo in a single go so he could finally die. "Rest in peace you old bastard." Atomi-X spoke sorrowfully.
