Sadie's POV
Well, there was sure as shit no hiding it now. No trying to pass it off as some lousy 24 hour bug I was starting to get over, nothing more I could honestly try to pass it off as and promise it wasn't contagious or anything to worry about.
The cat was out of the fucking bag.
My churning, aching stomach awoke me, yet again, and sent me bolting for the nearest toilet….which, in turn, was doing me and my previous cover absolutely zero favors, of course.
My puking, which could apparently be heard pretty clearly from down the hall from where my room was, sent Maggie rushing in with concern.
I jumped, almost a foot off the ground, at the sound of her knock at the door.
"Jesus!" I blurted out. "Mags?"
"...Yeah...you okay?"
"Just a fuckton better if you wouldn't sneak up on me." I muttered, dry heaving a couple more times before I wiped my face and flushed the toilet. "God…"
"...Sorry." She said, clearly nervously, when I finally opened the door. "...are you okay though?"
"Yeah, I will be.." I sighed. "You just...you just can't sneak up on me like that."
"Okay…." Her tone got softer, and more gentle. "...I'll make a note of it…...you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah…" I nodded with a sigh. "...it's not some 24 hour bug, but it's not contagious.
She gave me another look, like she wasn't totally convinced but also somewhat afraid of my response if she asked.
I glanced around, as if someone else might walk in, and sighed. "Last time I checked, anyway…..pregnancy isn't exactly contagious." I chuckled a little at my own remark.
"Oh…." She stammered for a bit, in her shock and chuckled nervously.
"...You can say congrats." I teased, chuckling as I became increasingly amused by the deer in headlights she'd become at the abruptness of my response. "...yeah, that wasn't exactly how I planned to mention it, but here we are."
"Right…" She chuckled. "Well, yeah. Congrats."
"Thanks." I chuckled. "Still keeping it on the downlow, I haven't had the chance to tell Gareth yet."
She nodded. "Well, I'll keep it that way until you do."
"I Appreciate it."
"Does Alex know?" She asked.
"You haven't been around a three year old, have you?" I teased. "Keeping on the downlow isn't exactly a known concept."
"I would think not." She laughed.
"Gareth and I will probably tell him together."
She nodded, just as Hershel's cries pierced through from another nearby room.
She gave a little smile as she glanced in the direction. "Be right back."
I smiled back as I watched her go.

As I stood there, it finally hit me.
How WOULD Alex respond?
He had been great, and even especially enthusiastic with Hershel, but this was something that was about to change his entire world.
He'd come around to it for sure, in any case, and there was no doubt in my mind that he'd be just as excited to have a little sibling as he was that day with Maggie and Hershel….
...but it was still something to think about, especially with Gareth coming back in the next couple days.
We visited for about another hour or so, before I had to pack up the rest of the overnight bag to start the long trip back to Alexandria with Alex.
"You're sure you're okay to head back so soon? You're more than welcome to stay and rest, if you need it."
"Thanks, but I've survived worse." I chuckled, settling Alex into his seat. "I think we'll manage."
"That's not what I was doubting." She assured.
"I'm sure, and it's appreciated." I chuckled. "Really, though. We're fine." I turned to give Alex a smile. "Aren't we?"
"Yeah!"
Maggie grinned even wider at him. "Alright, well you two ride safe."
I shot her a little smirk back. "Always do."
She nodded and gave Alex a little wave. "Bye, bye."
I smiled back at him. "Can you say, bye?"
He gave her an even bigger grin back. "Bye, bye!"
After letting me in through Alexandria's front gate upon my return, Michonne caught up with me on the way back to the armory.
She smiled and gave a little wave to Alex, who giggled and returned the wave in response,
"How're you feeling?" She asked me.
"I've been worse." I shrugged. "I don't think it's what anyone else got, in fact I think it's starting to die down a little."
"That's good to hear."
I smiled back politely, greeting Olivia as we came in, and checked back in the gun I'd taken with me.
"So, what's up?"
"Alden came to us with another update on those Savior walk offs, he's saying that none of them ever made it back to The Sanctuary."
"None of them?"
She shook her head. "Some of em had families too, one guy had a new kid. He's sure that they wouldn't just up and leave them."
"Right, he should meet my mother then." I scoffed. "Anyway, thanks for that. I'll talk to him about it."
"I'll let him know."
"Thank you." I looked to Alex with a smile, as we parted ways with her and Olivia.
"Let's go." I cooed.

Right.
Welcome to Why I told Maggie that working with those assholes, surrender or not, was a bad idea, is more like it.
Disarm them, as they should be, and protect them if they work for us, what the fuck did she think that's gonna sound like to them?
Then again, who am I to talk?
After what Gareth and I did to them, they really shouldn't be trusting us either….though, that part of it is a whole ass other can of worms.
Semantics for later, I guess.
