A cyborg ninja named Raiden, and a cyborg samurai named Jetstream Sam figth over their ideals. The ninja uses his blade as a tool of justice and the samurai as a tool of murder. Both have no place in the same world. Their worlds are far too different to be truly equal. However, for someone who had never been able to see these two sides of reality, they were very similar.

Sam was a warrior with strong ideals and strong beliefs in what he believed should be right and wrong for society. He used his sword like any other tool but it was not only for the killing that this weapon could cut through life, its wielder's heart. He saw a great injustice that was being done all around him. His idealism blinded him. When he heard about people doing terrible things for money or power he couldn't bear that he was one of them. Loosing his identity for a cause that ain't his. He lost his faith when the system he believed in did terrible things to those weaker than him.The difference between them was how easily they could kill each other. If they fought then there wouldn't be anymore people to save. There would be more people dead than saved. The thought made Sam sick.

But Raiden, he was his opposite, he was a man of justice. A protector who wanted justice for everyone, and if that meant hurting people to do it then so be it. He didn't need anyone else's blood on his hands. It was easy to hate the Samurai since he had killed so many men in black and red. Even though they came from the same side he felt like he could never trust them.

They may have acted the same way Sam and Raiden acted but there was still something inherently unnatural about them. Their eyes glowed with a cold fire that burned with an unholy passion. They weren't human and he knew it. They fought with everything they could. It wasn't natural to fight that way, even with weapons. Sam knew because he himself often trained with those weapons and he wasn't inhuman.

They were opposites in so many ways yet they were so alike at the same time. The samurai and his identity lost, and the Ninja who was going to defeat him no matter what. Raiden saw him only as a monster. A thing to fear and be afraid of. Sam however saw him as the greatest hero he ever could be. He looked up to him, he looked up to him and he believed in him. He admired him, he admired his strength, strength and courage, but most of all he admired his morals. Sam admired how good and true his ideals were, even if they didn't match his own. So here he stood on a street corner in Shibuya, staring down Raiden, who just happened to be wearing a mask that said "Justice".

Neither man spoke, both stared at each other across the street. They were silent for so long that the silence began to grow heavy.

They started to fight.

The first strike was quick. Before either of them realized it, they were exchanging blows left and right, swinging blades, kicking and punching and biting, trying to land a blow. It was almost as if they were dancing. It was so easy to get caught up in the rhythm and the feeling of fighting someone you hated. But as the fight progressed their hatred grew less and less. They were evenly matched and the longer the battle lasted they found themselves laughing together. They were having fun! Unfortunately someone's had to die.

As Sam struck at Raiden, who parried the blow he turned toward Sam, aiming for his throat. Just as he did, Sam ducked under his guard. The hit was weak, hardly more than a scratch, but it gave Sam enough of an opening. With a sharp kick, he sent his foot sailing into the Ninja stomach. In an instant, he was on his knees. Sam thought the battle was over, but he heard something familiar. It was the sound of steel grinding against metal. As Raiden reached out to grab onto Sam's leg he was knocked clean off his feet by a single swing of the Ninja's sword.

In an attempt to catch himself he swung backward, away from Sam and toward the concrete.Sam quickly followed him as he fell back down the sidewalk, his foot catching in front of the fall. When the impact finally made contact with Raiden's head he went flying to the ground.

As Sam landed on the pavement, he let go of Raiden's ankle and kicked him off balance. This time instead of catching himself, the ninja slid face first into the sidewalk. As he struggled to pull himself back up, Sam stepped forward, raised his sword and plunged it straight into Raiden's chest. The blade sank into the Ninja's torso, piercing through his back and lodging itself halfway in his heart. Blood gushed forth and soaked the ground around him.

Sam had won.

But he dint feel proud. All he felt was empty. It was as if his victory felt hollow and unsatisfying compared to the blood splattering out of his opponent's body. For the first time in his life he felt no satisfaction. Not even after he killed another person.

Sam stood there for a moment, taking in what had just occurred. He was the most human he could ever be. Was he insane? He truly had lost all of his identity? He would never know. The only thing he know for real is there will be more bloodshed. So much blood. So much death. And he was responsible. No amount of guilt could fix this. It was done. The ninja died at his hands, he brought about this carnage upon himself. His soul was now tainted with evil.

And yet, despite knowing this to be so, he still walked away.

He didn't want to leave the ninja behind and yet he also wanted nothing more to do with him. Maybe it was wrong of him to abandon him, but it was a necessity. He needed to move on. Find another target, find someone else to hurt. He would never be able to rest until this evil was defeated. But why? Why did he keep fighting? Why couldn't he just turn his back on this, stop fighting, stop trying. His mind reeled. He couldn't take this anymore. He was tired, and his brain was telling him to give up. He wasn't the same person anymore, he was nothing but a robot.

"How can I live like that? Is it my duty? No it isn't. Then who am I suppose to be? What is this? What is wrong with me? Who has changed me so much? Who did this to me?"

With every question, Sam got louder, louder, and louder. Finally, he was shouting at no one in particular.

"This is impossible! You know it is! You are a machine! A robotic assassin! What did you think you'd accomplish by staying here?!"

Sam stood still.

He lost himself completely. The thoughts swirling around inside his head were too overwhelming for him to handle. Too complicated to understand. And so, he ran. Running in random directions, in the direction his mind told him to run. It didn't really matter where he went as long as he stayed away from Raiden's body. He would return to Senator Armstrong. He would still be one member of Desperado. All he wanted was to die. He was dead inside anyway. There was nothing left for him to live for anymore.

"Why do I want to die? Why do I deserve this? How could anyone have done this to me? How can anyone make me feel anything anymore!? This pain is not fair!"

Sam just decided to go home and forget this day ever existed.
