Am I working while I'm sick? Yes. Do I care? Not really. I have nothing else to do and typing doesn't take any considerable energy. So anyway, here's a short bit of wholesomeness.
Side-note: At the time of me choosing the names for these children, I had not played Persona 4 yet. So one of them will look familiar, and I want to address it now: It has absolutely nothing to do with P4, it is just a coincidence. Sorry about that. And changing it is off the table because the name has already been locked into my brain.

Begin!
~Normal POV
Today was one of the many times when Akira was asked to watch the kids for the day. He didn't mind since he worked from home in his office/personal library. Ann had gone to an important photoshoot across town, leaving him in charge of Mirai and Erin.
All was going well. Akira was sitting in his office, working on his computer. He hadn't heard any weird noises from the living room in a while. Right as the thought crossed his mind, he figured he should check it out. Just in case. He could hear occasional footsteps, but little else. He got up from his chair and went to the living room.
And what he saw nearly made him break down laughing.
Morgana was sitting in between the two kids. And the poor cat was dressed in colorful ribbons and small clothes. His fur was ruffled up because they were styling it with a brush. He looked up at Akira, looking very embarrassed about his situation.
"Dad! We made Morgana look all pretty! I brushed him, and Erin put on the bows." Mirai said, excitedly.
"I've seen Aunt Haru tie bows on her crafts loads of times!"
Morgana groaned quietly. "I didn't have a choice…"
Akira snickered. "Yeah, he looks great…" He pulled out his phone and took a picture.
"Hey!" Morgana whined.
"What, you don't wanna share your new look with everyone else?" Akira sent the picture to groupchat before the cat could protest further.
Akira quickly got back several replies from everyone else on how much they liked the photo. It seemed to be a big hit. But seeing that Morgana was upset, he calmly told the kids that he would get him cleaned up, and that they should find something else to do. He picked up the cat and brought him into the bathroom.
"Did they have to mess up my fur too?"
Akira chuckled. "It's not so easy when they can't understand you."
"Nope…" He lifted himself up so Akira could untie the ribbons. "When you and Lady Ann told me I was gonna be an uncle, this isn't what I thought it'd be like."
He loved all the kids. All six of them; Mirai and Erin, then there was Ryuji and Haru's son Michi, Makoto and Seiji's son Kaito, Yusuke and Mei's daughter Sayuri, and Futaba and Kazuo's daughter Mayumi. They were all wonderful, and he enjoyed playing with them. But times like this reminded him that it wasn't always fun. He'd wished many times that the kids could understand him, but that wasn't possible.
"You know, you said earlier that you didn't have a choice…" Akira said, smirking, "But you did."
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, if you didn't wanna do it, then you could have just hid like a normal pet. But I think you did wanna play with them; because Uncle Mona loves his niece and nephew so much that he's willing to let them dress him up in a goofy costume."
Morgana twitched his tail in annoyance for a moment before realizing that he had no argument there.
He sighed contentedly, "Yeah… Yeah, I do."
He honestly did enjoy being the family pet.
~The End!
Ugh, my throat hurts. Now if you'll excuse me, there's a free Rifftrax stream today that I need to watch. I just wanted to write something wholesome because I can. Thank you for reading! :)
