A/N: Not sure what caused the delay in this so apologies for that. Hope to get the next chapter out quicker than this one. Until next time-PCGirl.

John walked into the bar and nodded at his old partner Aaron sitting there already waiting on him, "Hey man."

"Hey yourself," the sandy-haired man smiled as he stood up and gave John a firm handshake before sitting down. "Didn't think I'd hear you were in Seattle of all places."

"Yeah, Natalie and I came to visit my brother and mom for a few weeks. Mom saw your name in the paper. You like it here?"

"Love it-once you get over the rain," he laughed. "How is everything going? Heard through the grapevine you had a kid."

"Yeah, Liam," smiled John as he pulled out his phone and found a picture to share.

"Poor kid-he looks just like you. Hopefully you'll be lucky and the next one will look like Natalie."

John snorted, "Hopefully."

Aaron studied his friend for a moment, knowing he would normally stay silent and not sharing what he was thinking, but he knew he could get him to open up to him, "What happened?"

"Hmm?"

"When I mentioned a second kid-your demeanor changed. Did she lose a baby?"

"Yeah, and I was out of town when it happened-didn't even know she'd been pregnant til a couple weeks ago."

"She kept it from you? All of it?"

"She tried to tell me-but her dad decided I didn't need to know."

"Damn."

"Tell me about it. Of course, my being away in the first place was all on me. Chasing another damn ghost." He paused, taking a sip of the beer that the waitress had brought him. He shook off the past, "I think Natalie and I are moving past it. I think we're going to be ok."

"Good. From the bits you've mentioned before I can tell she suits you. That you two work well together."

"Yeah-we do. I never thought I needed a partner in life-not since Caitlyn. But she just-makes everything better."

Aaron smiled at watching John open up to him, "We have a few agent positions open here in Seattle-you know, if you want to get away from Llanview for a bit. It'd be great to be partners again."

John nodded as he took a sip, "It would be, but I can't do that to Natalie and Liam. Not after being gone for eight months."

"Then bring them with you. Natalie's a forensic tech, right?"

"Yeah."

"And if you trained her I'm going to guess she's pretty damn good."

"Me being her trainer had nothing to do with how good she is. She did that all on her own." He thought about that day in Rodi's at the beginning of the Music Box Killer, how she was able to read the chemicals and knew it was makeup. Neither of them had thought of her doing forensics then, and yet it was so perfect for her. She was definitely one of the best he'd seen.

"Then have her apply for a forensic job. There's always a spot either open or about to be."

"I don't know, man. We just got back together-we're both still processing the last year and everything that has happened. To add a new job, and a move across the country onto that. It's a lot."

"Yeah, but sometimes the best thing we can do is hit the giant reset button on life. From everything you've told me today you both may want to look at that button a bit longer."

John walked into the house to see Natalie was curled up on the couch reading a book, "Hey. Where's Liam?"

"Hey," she smiled back and put the book away. "He just went down for a nap. How was the visit with Aaron?"

"Good-it was really good to catch up. You should have come. He brought up something I want to talk to you about."

"What's that?"

"There's a position with the local FBI field office-he suggested I think about it."

"You're going to leave me and Liam again? What about what you've said? That you want to work on us. Work on our family. We couldn't do it the months you were in Port Charles. What makes you think we can do it with an entire continent separating us?"

"No-that's not what I want at all. There's also an entry level lab technician position."

"You think I'm good enough to be in the FBI?"

He smiled at the question, she always second guessed herself, "You are good enough to do whatever you want. But if it's staying at the station and continuing to work for Bo that's what we'll do. I'm not pressuring you into anything. Just giving you an option."

Natalie finished up packing their suitcases and headed down to the living room. She hadn't realized she had needed this trip-to get away from all the hurt that had happened in Llanview, but now it was time to return home. And yet-she kept wondering what it would be like this if Seattle became home. If her and John were to join the FBI and move here where would they live? What were the different neighborhoods like? Best schools for Liam?

Last night Eve had watched the kids so the four of them could go out and she'd caught herself again thinking about those dinners being a regular thing.

Sitting down on the couch she knew John and Michael should be back soon with dinner so she decided to pull out her cell phone and scroll the area for rentals available.

"What are you looking at?" asked Marcie as she came out of the kitchen and joined her.

Natalie laughed, embarrassed at being caught, "You know how sometimes you'll visit a place and wonder what it'd be like living there? I guess over the last two weeks I started to really enjoy it here. So I was scrolling through rentals."

"Oh yeah, I've done that before," she said as she sat down and looked at the one Natalie had stopped on. "Oh, this one is nice. And it's not too far from here-there's a park nearby so we could have play dates for the kids," said Marcie with an excited tone in her voice.

Just then the front door opened with John and Michael carrying dinner. At first she hoped John hadn't heard Marcie's comment, but by the look on his face she knew he did.

"Michael, don't you think it'd be great if they came to live here? The boys would get to grow up together," smiled Marcie, not noticing the look between the others.

"Uhm, yeah. Hey sweetie-can you help me get dinner set up," he asked as he took the bags from John and pushed Marcie towards the kitchen to give the other two privacy.

Natalie bit her lip as she put down her phone before standing up and walking over to John. "Marcie caught me looking at apartments and then I think she got carried away in the thought of us moving here."

"So you have thought about it?" he asked, pursing his lips to stop the smirk that he wanted to give her. Since the meeting with Aaron she had shot down any discussion about the FBI-but this proved that she'd been thinking about it, and apparently enough to start researching the area.

"Maybe-a little. I just-I don't want to make a rash decision because we're hurt by what has happened this year. I want to make a reasonable decision because it's the best thing for our family."

"I don't care where we live, Natalie. Would it be nice to be near Mike? And to get to work with Aaron again-yeah, but the two of you. That's where I want to be."

"And you really think I can make it in the FBI?"

John let the smirk show this time, he knew the answer-had full confidence in her, but she had to see it for herself, "There's only one way to find out."
