Thank you for reviewing my fanfic and I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. I might make the fanfic longer but sometimes my motivation fails me since writing is my third hobby.
Reviews help fuel it though, so thank you!

This couldn't be happening…
Denial, mental crisis and a sense of weird flutter all invaded Erina Nakiri as she pushed her face onto one of her many pillows. How and why indeed, were the questions that poured around her brain like rainfall on October.
She squealed and felt her face get redder than a tomato. It was past midnight and all her sleepiness had long ago been drained down the drain after what just occurred.
Somehow…she had ended up accepting Yukihira's offer, and now they'd go on-,
"A d-date…" She muttered, utterly mortified but at the same time euphoric at the idea. She had never actually gone to one of these so-called dates with a guy, and her experiences was merely as a witness, or an avid Shojo Manga reader. No one had ever dared invite her or at least approach her-, and of course, she had wanted to keep it that way. But once Yukihira did, the blonde realized how much she had been secretly hoping this moment would arrive.
The clock ticked one in the morning and she had no desire to sleep, the shock and weight of everything making it impossible to begin with.
Yukihira likes me?, she thought with a blush on her face. How was that possible? Sure she wasn't as bad with him anymore, but…she used to be a feral swamp witch with him, his words not hers. She had tried to deny him his school entry out of crude pride-, which he had called out multiple times around their many arguments, and before her incident with her father, she had also been extremely hard to deal with no matter what. If it came to Yukihira Soma, you could always find Erina with a scowl on her face. She still could barely believe he'd invite her out of nowhere.
Or out of nowhere for her, at least. Now all those secret talks Hisako had with the man made sense…the times where she'd stop Erina from bad mouthing Soma, if only to stop the bad habit she had developed. It all felt surprising, even a bit like betrayal…but it was clear now.
Even then, it was still shocking. A big surprise. So much of a surprise that she had hanged up on the call by instinct, not wanting to let Yukihira know how much it had affected her, not wanting to let him hear that shameful squeal. Afterwards Erina had scrambled around with her fingers on the screen, tapping as fast as she could before she lost the opportunity.
This would mark it as the first time someone ever invited her on a date, and her temperament had been close to sending it all to hell before it even started.
Somehow it turned out alright in the end.
The blonde couldn't help but break out a small smile as she stared at the last message Yukihira sent, almost an hour ago. By the looks of it he went asleep as soon as they finished talking, while she instead remained awake from the sheer adrenaline of it all.
Idiot: secret! But ill pick u up at night on Friday, 8pm. Won't be late, promise. Night night:)
Erika couldn't stop staring at it. She couldn't even reply back to it, merely opting to react to the message with a thumbs up, as if she was some sort of old man replying to a business offer.
At the end, she couldn't even remember when she fell asleep with her phone in her hands.

"SHE SAID YES!?" A loud scream awoke the entire polar star dorms at the earliest hours of the day, immediately summoning most people thirsty for gossip at the sound of Ryoko's voice and baffled tone.
On the receiving end of her shoutings, Yukihira Soma, with probably one of the most stupid air-headed grins he had ever showcased to the world itself.
Isshiki himself arrived downstairs as quickly as possible, stopping himself from his own speed by grabbing on the edge of the wall once he arrived to the scene.
"Who said yes!?" He asked, not even caring but needing the gossip either way. Once he spotted Soma, his eyes widened like plates, "No way…"
Soma replied back with a smug grin and a thumbs up.
"Yes way!" He laughed, positively beaming (more than usual). Ryoko just remained silent, with her jaw hitting the floor, while an already come to terms with it Tadokoro clapped away with a genuine smile on her face, happy that her friend was happy.
"That…That Nakiri woman actually said yes?" The usually calm man asked with disbelief, half naked with his pajamas (that consisted of an apron and nothing else).
"Oh she said, fuck, yes." Soma jested and walked around the kitchen, "Well, she actually quit the call…but then texted me and we talked for a bit and tadah! We are going on a date!" He declared, raising his hands up in the air to add momentum, "I was so excited I couldn't even sleep…so I took the chance to make you all breakfast" At the sound of food, most people who were eavesdropping made themselves present. Shun, Yuki, Marui, Daigo and Shuji all walked into the place and took their seats, pretending innocence.
Soma merely smiled and opened up the oven, immediately filling the place with a delicious aroma, with the smell of fresh noodles and pork attacking everyone equally.
"Ramen!" Tadokoro clapped in surprise and started drooling at the bowl she was being served. Perfectly cooked noodles and an exquisite looking broth. Spices and a balance of salt and pepper.
"You made ramen for breakfast?" Shun inquired, accepting the bowl Soma handed to him with a nod.
"I did! I was in the mood for it, late at night. I ended up making a bunch of it using the small amount of pork we had left in the fridge" The red head explained as he handed everyone else their respective bowls. They all stared at the plate, wondering just how in all nine hells did it smell so good when it looked so simple and plain,
Isshiki noticed the sudden change in quality, but couldn't quite pinpoint it. This wasn't something that came out of a combination of spices or the way he made the noodles…
"Welp, thank you for the food!" The blonde yankee wannabe didn't waddle around at all, and immediately took a taste of the breakfast he so longed for.
He was taken to the skies as he did so.
"Geez! You were already insane at this, but this is a new top, Soma!" Yuki managed to comment between bites and slurps, both of her eyes turned to hearts at the taste.
Isshiki remained silent for a bit. This was for sure a top for Soma, and by the looks of it, he didn't even put much thought into it. The man frowned as he ate, not quite understanding, but letting it go for the current moment.
"So you got yourself a girlfriend, Soma?" Daigo questioned the redhead as the guy took his own seat in the kitchen, happily eating a way.
Soma just looked up from his plate in confusion.
"Uh, is a date enough-"
"No, it's not. You're not dating yet" Ryoko interrupted him, irritated at the absence of brain matter showcased by the two idiots in front of her, "But…you're in the process now. And that's truly impressive, to be honest" She raised her eyebrows in surprise.
"What? Why? Who's the lucky lady?" Everyone sweat dropped at Marui, who had probably been too focused on his dish to pay attention till then.
"Well, none other than Totsuki's Queen" Shun noted, nonchalantly, "Nakiri Erina" Marui started coughing hard at the surprise, making sounds of shock but managing no words
"W-What!?" Soma actually started laughing at his reaction, not quite believing the situation himself.
"Ignoring this idiot…what have you got in mind, Soma?" Ryoko continued, pondering just what could Soma possibly do to not turn this into a fiasco.
He merely smirked before standing up once again, arms crossed. His eyes were filled with the familiar determination and everyone gulped back in return.
"You see…."

"And then I just asked for the time and place…nothing weird, right?"
Erina found herself huddled up in her bed, legs crossed and wearing pajamas even though it was nearly 11:00 AM, speaking out about her recent turmoil right in front of her dearest friend, Hisako.
For once, the short haired student felt nothing but endearment towards the Queen of their entire school. For all her prideful act, the blonde had been rendered an utter mess at the situation, equally embarrassed and excited, shocking the girl. Moreso when it all surrounded a certain red head chef. A year ago, this would've not only been unthinkable but also quite insulting, or denigrating, and now Hisako had actually participated and lended her help to Yukihira. It was all quite a spin, really.
"I'm not saying it was weird, milady. Just a bit…abrupt, I guess? Quitting the call outta sudden"
"I-I was too nervous! It was just an instinct, and I texted him right away" Erina explained herself with a blush appearing on her cheeks. Hisako could only chuckle in response.
"I'm just kidding! But, it's still a surprise…"
"What do you mean 'a surprise'? You knew about this whole ordeal for days" The blonde retorted back with a pout.
"No, I mean…I knew he was going to ask you out…I just didn't think he'd pull it off" Hisako shrugged and clapped her hands twice, "Good work, Soma" She let out to the air and Erina puffed up her cheeks, blushing a bit.
It…wasn't fair.
"Say…should I-, y'know, call him like that too?"
"Like what?" Hisako questioned and the blonde frowned.
"…By his name" The master chef finally let it out and Hisako tilted her head in confusion. Was this a problem for the chef?
"Erina you…you do know what dates are for, right?" The prideful chef fornwedt, undignified.
"Of course I do!"
"I know but, have you really thought about it? You're gonna be hanging out with Soma in what can be labeled as get to know each other phase. A date is like accepting that there's a good chance you might end up dating. Obviously you should call him by his name!" The purple haired woman stated the obvious and Erina frowned in response.
"But he doesn't do it. Yukihira calls everyone by their given name…except me" She muttered with an acidic tone and Hisako just exhaled air in reply.
"Of course he doesn't. Soma calls anyone by their given name, except for you, because you're not just anyone to him" Erina's turned a bright shade of red and she internally squealed at the revelation.
That's…adorable!
"He doesn't wanna mess up his chances with you, and since you're so prideful and keep your guard up all the time, obviously Soma would never call you like that" Hisako continued explaining and indirectly attacking her friend until the blonde finally stood up and shook her head in denial.
"W-Well, then I just need to show Yukihira he can call me by my name now" She concluded, and Hisako sweat dropped.
"Show who?"
"Yukihira" Hisako sighed and tried again.
"Who?" A blush and stutter.
"…S-Soma" The blonde yelped as she got tackled into a tight hug
"You're way too cute, milady!" Hisako squeezed tight and Erina reciprocated the hug with a few pats on her friend's back.
"I'm…not sure what you mean, but still, I didn't call you today to gossip about this…" The assistant finally let go and stared at her with confusion.
"So? What do you need from me?" The blonde prodigy turned around slowly and placed her eyes on her closed wardrobe.
After a minute, she managed to speak.
"I…don't know what to wear for the d-date"

Me: secret! But ill pick u up at night on Friday, 8pm. Won't be late, promise. Night night:)
Soma stared at his phone and latest texts with a strange, solemn look on his face. For all his excitement, he knew he couldn't mess up this one in a million chance.
Somehow, Erina had agreed to go on a date with him. On one side, he hoped this wasn't just out of pity or a double edged sword, but on the other side, he was extremely happy with the results. Just like Hisako had mentioned, the blonde girl had long since been looking through a window and hopeful eyes for anything akin to romance, and even though she pretended to hate his guts, she wasn't that opposed to his existence anymore. Nobody dared to ask her out or try and court the chef, so according to Hisako, with honest words and a few apologies and clarification, even he himself had some sort of chance at landing a date. It wasn't a joke to say that Erina spent a longer amount of time staring at Yukihira during meetings and the sort, so she was sure a push would be enough to bring them together.
Now he just needed Akira and Ryō to do their part and-
"Soma, you coming?" A voice kicked the red head out of his thoughts and he lifted his eyes to find Tadokoro peeking from the door, "Yuki wanted to show us her latest creations, and I know you really like rabbit so…"
"Yeah, I'm game" He jumped out of bed and rushed to the shorter woman's side, startling her, "Thank you, Megumi" She blushed and nodded twice without muttering a word.
As they made their way through the dorm, she couldn't stop herself from making conversation.
"It's a good plan, Soma…that date of yours, I think it'll turn out perfectly fine" She muttered, ignoring her small feelings of hurt and tossing them to the side. It wasn't right.
"Let's hope so! I think we'll do just great" He snickered with his usual chuckle.
"I…I'm sure you will. I'd love for someone to do at least half of something like that for me, so I'm sure Miss Nakiri will be most pleased" She commented and Soma laughed, placing his palm on her head and ruffling her head as he did so.
"Wrong. You deserve far more, Megumi. You deserve a full Michelin course date with a side of home cooked plates and being picked up in a limousine with flowers on every seat, and that wouldn't even top it. You're that great" If the girl was blushing before, now she had turned into a morphed tomato of stutters and unintelligible words, "And you'll see soon enough, someone will give you all that. You're probably one of the individuals I care the most in this whole school, so I'm sure people will see you in that light as well"
"S-Soma! Stop it" She managed.
"I'm just telling the truth!"
"Yes, but my hair, stop it!" She squirmed away and started running and laughing while Soma chased her through the hallway, "Soma!" She yelled half heartedly, her chaser putting on an act and devilishly looking her way.
"I'm gonna tickle you! I'll tickle you to death!"
A loud noooo could be heard throughout the entire dorm once Soma got hold of his prey.

A few days later…
Friday came too slow for the blonde chef, too flustered and nervous to operate on a normal basis.
Monday had been hectic, with the proposal and Soma's weird way of talking to her, it had been a huge shock and a pleasant surprise. She hadn't expected it, but after a whole night of processing and a talk with Hisako, she had managed to come to terms with everything.
Still, the next couple days had been even worse for the Nakiri, and not necessarily out of nervousness or meek feelings. Reunions had turned hostile at a point when new initiatives got introduced thanks to her grandfather, and the limitations they imposed created debate within her table of leaders. Without counting the red head Soma, who couldn't give two flying fucks about anything that wasn't directly related to food or duels, all the other members had requested different accommodations to the rule set and a private listening from her part; which had effectively drained her mercilessly.
Now came Thursday night, and she found herself unable to move away from her bed. Her body was completely exhausted and without a single desire to cooperate, even when her mind kept tormenting her with the same idea continuously..
She had to start planning for tomorrow. Hisako's tips had been helpful, but she hadn't decided entirely yet what she was going to wear for tomorrow night. Not only that, she hadn't actually prepared anything beyond actually just showing up.
Of course, she'd planned to start the night by calling Soma by his given name, but anything beyond that was unknown, and she hated the unknown. How was she supposed to act? Like a teenager in love? She wasn't-, it was definitely not like that.
Giving Soma a chance and actually madly falling for the guy were two separate things, and she wasn't in love; this was cute, sure. And it was something she had been hoping for, for a long time now. But for her to behave like an idiot, infatuated with somebody…it'd be a disgrace to her own persona.
But then, acting her usual way would probably just scare the red head away to begin with. She couldn't do that; She'd promised herself no more insulting him (at least not in a malicious way), no disrespecting him and no judging…this was a special occasion, and she'd butchered a lot of special occasions before thanks to her temperament. Doing it now would devastate her.
Questions and questions poured in her mind like rain, further draining away her energy. And to top it off, an itch she hadn't been able to scratch kept bothering her even more.
Three days have gone by and you haven't texted me a single time…are you playing some prank on me?
Those were the only words on repeat inside her brain. For all her anticipation, Soma had actually not talked to her a single time again after their last massage, which clearly read: Sent, Tuesday, 12:30 a.m. and that single text status and thought actually burned deep inside her chest.
Had she gone wrong somewhere with him these past few days? Done fucked up in a way it made him not want to even chat or say hello? Not to say it'd be unusual, since they barely talked before but…he should've changed that by now.
Or maybe she should've?
They were going on a date, after all.
"Hold on…are we-, are we still up for the date?" Erina voiced a sudden worry she hadn't thought about before. Three days had gone by without any interaction, and not even signs of Yukihira to begin with.
Was this a sign? An indirect way of-,
Bzzzt
Her phone vibrating under her many covers immediately kicked away any of her thoughts, and if there ever existed a competition on unlocking your phone screen, she was sure she'd be number one in the world at that moment.
Idiot (1) message(s)
She should probably change the name of his contact sooner than later.
Idiot: Hey! I think we need to talk… it read.
Almost instantaneously, her heartbeat elevated tenfold and Erina could actually feel a huge and unbearable knot forming in her throat. Had she gone wrong in someway?
Was it her fault? Was she supposed to text first, and let him know there was interest? Reading her earlier texts, she'd been so…edgy, and short-worded.
Maybe thank him for inviting her out? For going out of his way to make it discrete and different than normal? For actually having the guts to go ahead and ask her out?
Was he…was he going to cancel their date?
Idiot: I saw you a few times in these couple days, y'know?
Idiot: Isshiki-senpai let me know some new shit came through with your grandad, and it's been hell for a week now at the table…and I just know you got it rough with that stuff.
Idiot: And I saw u tonight at the gates as well, waiting for your limo. I wanted to say hello but
Idiot: you looked so exhausted, so done with the day lol. It was quite surprising, cuz you look so unbeatable at times, Nakiri.
Erina blushed hard even though her heart was about to burst out of her chest.
Idiot: but anyways, I just thought you'd be super tired to go out on Friday. So are we still up for that date? or maybe you wanna go out on a later day? I dun wanna overwhelm you, Nakiri.
Oh the sigh of relief she let out…the actual weight that was just removed from her shoulders…and most of all…
The endearment!
Soma had been thinking about her! Worrying, and actually giving a damn about how she was doing after the horrible week she just went through. She could hardly believe it…
"I…I need put more soul into this" She confessed to herself, realizing this whole ordeal had been very much one sided for some time now, and the scare she just got made her realize just how much this meant to her.
With shy fingers, she began typing.
Me: No! It's okay, I'm tired but a good rest should fix that.
She closed her eyes and typed out some more honest words.
Me: I'm looking forward to the date, we don't need to change anything. But don't you dare make this some stupid prank!
She cringed at her words and frowned at that impossible need to have the last word in the matter. Soma could be a pranker for sure, but he'd never been malicious with anybody, not even herself. For this to be a prank…it'd be impossible, and the smallest of chances made her heart clench.
Idiot: Hell no, it aint a prank
Idiot: I talked with everyone about this, even Hisako knows about it, and she'd never let it be some stupid prank
He tried to make logic and calm her worries, but it only made her felt guilty.
Me: you don't need to explain yourself. I was being stupid.
She clicked sent and after the message was read, her phone rang loudly, scaring Erina. She almost dropped the phone onto her face, but she managed to catch herself last second.
It was Soma, and somehow she felt happy he decided to call instead of text.
Once the blonde composed herself, a tap was heard and Soma's voice quickly echoed inside her bedroom.
"You're not stupid, Nakiri" Were the first words he muttered her way, and she couldn't help but sweat drop. She'd meant that in another way, "I mean, sometimes you're a bit obnoxious, but I kinda like that about you" He teased her and joyfully laughed, lifting her mood a bit.
Where had all her exhasument gone to?
"No, I think you're the stupid one, Yuki…hira" There she went again…
Frustrated, Erina bit her lower lip hard and forced herself to gather some sort of fake-courage.
"I mean, you're the stupid one, S-Soma!" She blurted out far louder than she had aimed to, and immediately blushed.
Soma on the other side remained silent for a second( utterly stunned.
"Say something, you idiot!" After a minute of awkwardness, she couldn't keep it together and snapped at the red head.
"Sorry! Sorry…uh, yeah. So, you're not stupid…Erina" Her face turned bright red and she held in a small happy sound from leaving her mouth, "And are you sure you're not tired? For tomorrow, I mean…"
"Yes, I'm sure. Don't make me change my mind now" The blonde stated as a matter of fact, actually standing up with newfound energy to open her wardrobe. She already had an idea that Hisako helped her with, about what to wear for her date. But she still hadn't decided for sure.
"Great! Everything's ready then, I'm sure you'll love it…or at least not hate it, heh" He commented, nervously laughing as he did so. Erina still found it weird to hear hesitation on his voice, but it was cute to think she just had that kind of effect on him.
"Mhm…we'll see" She hummed in response, distracted as she searched through her many clothes to find something appropriate. Meanwhile, Soma just kept babbling in about his day, the ribs he cooked tonight and who dared him into a Shokugeki (which she knew, because she was the one they had to register those things into the school data bank)
According to Hisako, she should wear whatever was casual for her, but nothing special. Sad thing really, since the blonde had planned to wear a long dress per the special event. Hisako had to actually open her eyes and let her know that Soma would never take her to a place of such high value where a dress like that would be due, and he also didn't have the money for anything fancy. Which, truth be told, made sense.
Not like she expected him to pay everything, she'd never let him. Erina had researched his father's restaurant before, and it was anything but expensive or fancy. If things came to it, she'd rather pay, it would mean nothing to her wallet.
"Also, I was thinking-"
"I have a question" The blonde interrupted Soma before he could voice his thoughts, and an issue she had kept pondering with for the whole week appeared in her head, "Why…why haven't you talked to me, in these last few days?" Erina asked, flustered, "I mean, y-you asked me out…and then just disappeared! From sight, from contact, no messages, you didn't even attend the last meetings" She blurted out in quick and anxious successions, letting her problems go voiced for once.
"Oh! Well, truth be told, I just never use my phone" Soma explained back without much thought, and Erina felt a little stupid in return. Of all the things he could have replied, that was the most believable of all; she had never seen Soma using his phone or even taking it out for anything. In fact, it was a wonder she had her contact or that he had hers to begin with, "And like I said, you seemed to be so busy this week, I didn't wanna bother ya'"
The master chef pouted and huffed in reply. She'd let her emotions get the best of her, and what now sounds logical had actually been bothering her the whole week and it was for nothing.
"Well, it doesn't bother me" She finally confessed, "Y-You may talk to me…whenever you want" Her cheeks turned red but she didn't mind, "Or text or whatever, okay?"
"Got it. I don't use my phone often, but if it's you I just might" Soma merely agreed and continued off where she interrupted him, talking about ideas too absurd to implement in the school's system.
She'd always reply with a I'll think about it or outright deny the request, as she continued searching for something to wear.
Neither Erina nor Soma realized at what time they ended up falling asleep.

Friday night finally dropped upon Erina Nakiri, who found herself waiting nervously around the manor's lobby with sweaty hands , and her heart had long since grown comfortable with its new pace every time she thought about the fact that in a few minutes her desired white knight would come pick her up for their first ever date. Except it wasn't a knight, it was Soma, and he'd pick her up on his motorcycle, not a horse…or a limo.
That had been another topic discussed, his two-wheeled ride. Even though she had seen the cursed thing multiple times, the blonde had entirely forgotten about it, instead thinking of things like a private car ride or something within that level of privilege.
Once Soma mentioned he'd be bringing another helmet for her, her world came to a stop and a discussion came through about how he should've mentioned that first-hand. Now all her skirt outfits were cut short and new ideas had to be approved inside her own mind with only a few hours left to choose.
At the end, Erina opted for a modern look, with a white oversized shirt that tucked into tight black jeans, enhancing some of her features. White Adivas shoes and only a couple of bracelets. Light makeup, no earrings. All this, of course, idea of Hisako and her cousin Alice. For all their bickering and going back and forth, she knew they were far better at this than she was.
8:10 PM, her cellphone marked and she gulped in return. He was taking his sweet time making her wait, but she had already expected Soma Yukihira to be a little late for the date, even if it was a date with the queen of England, he'd be late.
But then, 8:20 clicked and she turned red from the rage, immediately navigating into his profile to tap the call option.
Only, Soma called her first.
"Erina! Hey…" Her cheeks grew pink and she felt flustered, not remembering they went by name now, "Say, I've been at the gates for sometime now but your guards won't let me in!" Oh.
How stupid.
She had forgotten to inform the guards that Soma would be picking her up, and worse of all, she'd forgotten to lift up the ban she had placed almost a year ago for Soma's face.
"J-Just give them your phone for a second'' She ordered and Soma obligued.
A bit of questions and answers back and forth, and finally Soma's motor engine could be heard right behind her marble doors.
God, her chest was about to explode.
Opening her doors after an unneeded knock, Erina caught his look and only handsome ran through her mind at the sight. Soma's hair for once was slicked back and controlled by a decent amount of gel, and clearly someone had a hand in helping him choose his clothes. Whilst he had mentioned that it wasn't necessary to look fancy, he still rocked a beautiful buttoned white shirt with his sleeves rolled up stylishly. He didn't wear formal leg wear to combine but instead opted for some tight dark jeans and white converse.
"Hey there, Eri-" He attempted to greet her with his casual tone but stopped midway, his eyes locked onto her entire body and face, looking up and down, "Wow, you look so pretty with casual clothes" He sheepishly smiled and the blonde couldn't help but blush back at the comment.
"H-Hello, Soma" She still managed a small smile and a nod in return, "You don't look so bad yourself" The chef rubbed her hands together behind her back to ease the nerves, and hoped that the rest of the night wouldn't be awkward like this.
Thankfully, Soma smiled and stepped in, embracing Erina into a quick and non-invasive hug. It was a surprise, but also it eased her a lot.
If Soma wasn't about to turn into some sort of quivering shy guy at the sight of the person he wanted to take on a date with, she'd try her best not to either.
"Heh, you ready?" His signature snicker, his signature smile. They were far more expressive today.
Erina felt something tug inside her heart. Soma was clearly overjoyed to finally have this happening, if the way his smile kept a permanent appearance on his face was anything to go by. She felt…wanted and sought out in a way that wasn't thanks to her name or her culinary abilities.
Someone had actually managed to find something to like within her and it was Soma, and it was clear as day how honest his feelings about all this were.
With newfound determination, she took hold of his calloused hand, effectively surprising him, "I'm ready" The blonde chef declared, walking ahead and pulling Soma gently, "You promised I'd like it, so I'm expecting you to keep that promise true"
Soma merely smirked back at her, tightening their hands held together before joining her pace.
"Oh you'll see, it'll rock!"
