A/N: Hello all, it's been a long time since I worked on this fanfic, hasn't it? While me and my two co-authors are working on MMX IS DC, I will work on the DC of MMBN. So My writing has improved since then. Also, I will revise the crossovers in this fanfic, so expect some changes. Anyway, here is Chapter 7 with the appearance of Eugene Chaud and his NetNavi, ProtoMan!
Chapter 7: Freezing Water: Enter the Ace Official NetBattler!
A few days have passed since the school jacking and Metroline incident, but our heroes are still not close to the WWW's plans to start the Endgame! Neither have they find any clues on the Mysterious NetNavi known as S.
(In a Unknown place)
"It seems Mr. Higsby has failed to take over ACDC Elementary and StoneMan has met his end." A female voice reported in the darkness. The WWW Leader's voice growled angrily at the events so far.
"Not only that, but that idiot Higsby has turned traitor and left us! No matter, the Endgame will soon begin and we'll deal with that traitor later! Madd, how is your plan coming along?" The WWW Leader asked.
The voice who is identified as Madd giggled sinisterly. "It's going smoothly my lord! We have blackmailed the owner of the Waterworks by kidnapping his son. If he ever wants to see him again, he has to do what we say while we focused on our true objective at hand."
"Now that's what I like to hear! If there are any problems… Delete it!" The WWW Leader ordered.
"Delete it!" Madd repeated gleefully.
(The next day at the Hikari Household in ACDC Town)
Lan and Zoey were sound asleep, snoring peacefully, but Corina, Bridget, Kikki and Renee were already up and Corina and Renee are annoyed by Lan and Zoey's sleeping habits while Bridget and Kikki closed their eyes and smiled nervously with sweat drops.
"Lan! Zoey! Wake up! It's morning!" MegaMan ordered from his PET. That only made Lan and Zoey turn over on their respective beds.
"Honestly, MegaMan, how do you tolerate a lazy NetOp like Lan?" Corina shook her head in disapproval while sighing. "He isn't as bad as our lazy leader of the Mew Mews…"
"I heard that, Corina! And it's Saturday…" Lan mumbled while his eyes are closed while resting on his bed.
"Yeah, it's Saturday, so let us sleep, please?" Zoey agreed with Lan while mumbling in her sleep.
"But Lan and Zoey, we have weekend class today." Bridget giggled. That made Lan and Zoey's eyes shot open.
"Oh man!" Both Lan and Zoey groaned at the same time as they rose up from their beds and sleeping bags. MegaMan and the four Mew Mews giggled at the two lazy bones. With that said, Lan and Zoey got dressed and are ready to start the day.
When they got downstairs, they saw Mrs. Hikari who is worried about something. "Good morning Mrs. Hikari." Zoey greeted with a smile before noticing her concerned looks. "What's wrong, you looked troubled about something…"
"Oh… morning, Lan, girls… I'm afraid the water's off, so no breakfast." Lan's eyes widen in horror as he turned pale and white.
"W-What?! But I'm thirsty and hungry!" Lan moaned, without breakfast and something drink, it would make his day worst!
"Lan, there's not much you can do without water." MegaMan tried to reassured his friend and NetOp. But he was puzzled on why the water was off, could it be another WWW plot?
"MegaMan's right, Lan, so let's try to save our energy and head to school." Bridget agreed with the NetNavi. Lan groaned before nodding reluctantly. So as the gang of heroes exited the Hikari household, they found Mayl waiting for them while she glared at Lan with her hands on her hips.
"Lan Hikari, you're late!" Mayl scowled as she tapped her foot patiently.
"S-Sorry!" Lan bowed his head in apology with a sweat drop. After Mayl calmed down, the group of friends walked to school.
While walking to school, they discussed an important topic. "Lan… did you have any water this morning?" Mayl asked grimly with a worried frown.
"Huh? You too, Mayl?" Zoey's eyes widen in shock, seems this incident is now affecting the whole town.
"Yeah… I couldn't wash my face this morning, yuck!" Mayl stick out her tongue in disgust. The Mew Mews were concerned about it as well.
"I sure hope it doesn't happen at the school too." Bridget prayed with a worried frown.
"Yeah…" Lan nodded in agreement with a serious frown. Eventually, they made it to ACDC Elementary.
However, when they arrived at the school's front gates, they gasped in shock at the school pond not having any water. "Oh no! There's no water in the pond!" Mayl gasped in shock and horror as she covered her mouth.
"Maybe it's just this neighborhood or something?" Lan guessed as he crossed his arms and begin to think. Mayl and the Mew Mews aren't too sure.
"I'm gonna check the school!" Mayl panicked as she ran into the school. The Mew Mews pondered about this. Lan noticed the serious looks on his friends' faces.
"What's up girls?" He asked theme in concern.
"Isn't it strange?" Bridget turned to Lan and asked him with a serious face.
"What do you mean?" Lan asked with a raised eyebrow and question mark above his head.
"Yeah. The water is missing from ACDC Town. Could it be those WWW jerks again?" Corina frowned seriously.
"Nah, can't be. I mean, they haven't strike since we took down StoneMan and fixed the Metroline." Lan dismissed her theory.
"Maybe, but let's get to class. I'll meet up with you guys later after I'm done with my class." Renee told her friends as our heroes entered the school.
After parting ways with Renee for now, Lan and the four Mew Mews entered their homeroom. Once there, a student walked up to them." Morning Lan, Zoey, Corina, Bridget and Kikki. You'll never believe this, but there's a new Battle Chip shop in town that opened recently!" He explained excitedly.
"Oh really?" Corina arched an eyebrow with a smile.
The student nodded and added "That's not all, Mr. Higsby despite being a former WWW member is the owner of that chip shop. I think you should pay him a visit after school. He really wants to thank you for showing him the error of his ways."
"So Mr. Higsby really has left the WWW." Lan smiled while snapping his fingers excitedly. "Once school is done, let's go see him and see what Battle Chips he has."
"Also, we need to ask him about what the WWW's true plans are for the EndGame." Zoey frowned seriously. Bridget shook her head no.
"I think we should take it nice and slow and Mr. Higsby will tell us what the WWW's true plans are." The gang nodded in agreement as Yai walked up to them with a serious expression.
"Hey Yai, what's up?" Kikki smiled as she and her friends turned to her but also concerned about why she looked troubled.
"Don't tell anyone, but I think one of the students from B Class is missing and I smell a WWW plot!" Yai frowned seriously, but before our heroes can ask her why, the school bell ranged. "It's a secret, okay?" Deciding to trust their friend's promise, our heroes seated at their desks.
Ms. Mari came in with a grim expression. "I would like to begin homeroom-" Before she can finish, Dex interrupted her.
"Ms. Mari! We don't have water at our house!" Dex complained with a whine.
"Don't worry, Dex, I'm getting to that. Class, as you're well aware, the town's water supply has stopped." Ms. Mari grimly explained, the class gasped in shock.
"W-What?!" Dex gawked in shock, Yai was silent but frowned seriously.
"Do we know why, Ms. Mari?" Mayl asked in concern, Ms. Mari shook her head no.
"We don't know. I already explained the incident to Ms. Roberts. Unfortunately, we don't know how long it will be fixed. So class is cancelled for today." Ms. Mari announced.
"Yes!" Dex pumped his fist in the air with a happy grin.
"Wait! Don't get excited or you'll get more thirsty!" Ms. Mari reasoned.
"O-Okay!" Dex gulped with a sweat drop. And with that, class was abruptly over with for today.
As Renee locked the door to her homeroom, Ms. Mari. "Ms. Roberts, may I have a word with you?" She frowned seriously.
"What's wrong, Ms. Mari? Is it because of the water shortage?" Renee tensed. Ms. Mari nodded as she begin to tell the Mew Mew her theory on what's wrong.
"Please tell Lan and your friends only, but…" Ms. Mari hesitated for a moment before finding her courage. "It may be another WWW plot like what happened here and at the Metroline! Nott only that, one of the teachers told me that one of her students from Class B hasn't been in her class for days. So please be careful." Ms. Mari pleaded. Renee nodded silently as she went to meet up with Lan and the other Mew Mews.
Outside ACDC Elementary, our heroes were walking down to the newly opened Higsby's while discussing what they know from both Ms. Mari and Yai.
"Not only is the town's water missing, but a student from Class B is as well." MegaMan frowned seriously as he told his friends about the events so far.
"I smell a WWW plot…" Renee gritted her teeth seriously.
"Who knows, let's head to Higsby's so we can see what Battle Chips he has." Lan figured, as our heroes walked down to Higsby's, Zoey noticed a car parked near Higsby's, she blinked in confusion as she could have sworn she saw someone, but decided to follow her friends into Higsby's.
As they entered, they saw a NumberMan cardboard as well as many shop items. Mr. Higsby noticed them and smiled. "Welcome, Lan and friends!, huh I still want to thank you for showing me the error of my ways and helping me leave the WWW, huh! So I'm giving you a once in a life-time discount for one Battle Chip, huh! See what you like." He offered.
"Thanks Mr. Higsby!" Zoey closed her eyes and smiled. As our heroes looked around the store, Lan spotted from the corner of his eye a Battle Chip which shows a picture of MegaMan wielding a electric sword. "Hey Mr. Higsby, is that a ElecSword?" Lan asked as he picked up the Battle Chip from its stand and showed it to Mr. Higsby.
Mr. Higsby nodded and began explaining. "Yup! It is good for Aqua type viruses, huh! Do you want it with my special discount, huh?" He offered.
"Lan, I think we can buy it. We may need it when where we're going." MegaMan suggested.
Lan thought about it for thirty seconds and smiled. "Deal!"
Mr. Higsby nodded in response and added in the special discount. "That'll be 500 Zenny, please, huh!" Lan paid for the Battle Chip.
"Thanks Mr. Higsby! We'll come by your shop often." Lan grinned. The Mew Mews nodded in agreement with smiles.
"Thanks, Lan, huh! That means a lot to me." Mr. Higsby smiled as our heroes exited the shop.
As soon as they exited Higsby's, Lan's PET ranged, confusing the gang. "Lan, you got mail!" MegaMan told him.
"Who could it be from?" Zoey wondered as Lan checked his email, it was from Yai.
It read "Turns out the student from Class B has been kidnapped and I think the WWW may be involved! Lan, you got to help me find him or else I'll won't call your name in Homeroom! Signed, Yai. P.S: Find any water if you can." Lan growled angrily as he clenched his fist tightly with both veins on his forehead and hand.
"That Yai! Ugh, we have to honor our promise and find that kid. But for now, let's head to the Waterworks and find out what's going on." The Mew Mews nodded in agreement and they and Lan took the Metroline to the Waterworks.
As they entered the Waterworks lobby, they spotted a boy who is 14 years old who has sky blue eyes and straight white hair that hangs over his forehead, He also wore a red sleeveless jacket over a black long-sleeved shirt with a yellow collar and lower half, long pants with a green camouflage pattern and pair of black shoes. He was talking to a Waterworks employee. Renee took a closer look at the 14 year old and her eyes seem memorized by his appearance. And for some weird reason, her heart started beating and she was blushing. What is wrong with her? She's usually the calm and composed member of the Mew Mews. Could it be…?
"…Therefore, a check of the Waterworks and the Net is needed." The white haired boy told the employee calmly but coldly.
"You're an Official NetBattler, right? I understand. Please show me your ID." The employee asked politely. The boy nodded and showed her his ID. "I see… Please insert your ID card to the elevator. It will take you to the Waterworks automatically." The employee explained.
"Thank you…?" The boy noticed our heroes. "What are kids like you doing here? Get out of my way!" The boy rudely growled as he walked towards the elevator and swiped his ID card on the scanner and entered the elevator.
"What's his problem?" Lan frowned angrily.
"He's a real jerk!" Kikki agreed with an angry frown. However, Zoey Corina and Bridget were confused on what a Official NetBattler is.
"Hey MegaMan?" Zoey began. "Since we're from another world, if you don't mind me asking, what are the Official NetBattlers?"
"The Official NetBattlers are like the police force of your world." MegaMan explained, but before he can continue, Lan interrupted him.
"I think I heard of them before…" Lan mused.
"Yeah! They fight evil and NetCrime on a daily basis! They're really cool!" MegaMan beamed excitedly as he added "I wonder what kind of NetNavis they use…"
"Who cares?" Lan muttered with a bored look before he went into serious mode. "We got to figure out a way into the Waterworks."
"But how can we get in? There's no way they allow a kid and civilians like us into the Waterworks without permission." Zoey frowned worriedly. The gang thought about it for a few seconds until a lightbulb appeared above Lan's head.
"I got it!" Lan beamed. The Mew Mews looked at him. "We can use my dad's ID since both Scilabs and the Waterworks are in the same building!"
"Great idea, Lan!" MegaMan agreed with a smile. "We need to return Dad's ID after we solve this crisis." The gang nodded before Corina noticing Renee's blushing face.
"? Renee, are you okay?" Corina tapped her friend and idol. Renee snapped back to reality.
"H-Huh? You say something, Corina?" Renee stuttered. Corina looked at her oddly.
"Oooookay then… Let's head to Lan's Dad's lab then." Corina shrugged, the gang nodded in agreement and headed to Scilab and used its elevator to enter Dr. Hikari's Lab. As they entered his office, Lan saw his dad's ID on the lab coat. With a smile, Lan removed the ID from the lab coat and placed it in his backpack.
"Alright, let's head into the Waterworks!" Lan told the Mew Mews heroically. They nodded in response as they headed to the Waterworks' lobby. Nodding to each other, Lan swiped the ID card through the scanner and the elevator opened, our heroes entered it and went up to the Waterworks' office.
"That was easy." Renee smirked coyly.
Bridget nodded in agreement. "Hopefully they may think we're employees here. But for now, let's head to the pump room and find out what's going on." Her friends nodded as the gang headed into the pump room. Inside, they saw a man typing away on the computers. His name is Dr. Froid.
"Hey, maybe he knows what's happening to ACDC Town's water?" Kikki whispered before adding "But who will talk to him?"
"I vote Lan. He knows more about ACDC Town than the five of us when we first arrived in his and MegaMan's world. Right Lan?" Corina smirked and winked at the young NetBattler, confusing him.
"W-What?! Why me?!" Lan whined.
"Lan!" MegaMan scolded him with a frown.
"Oh alright, alright! I'll go talk to him, geez!" Lan raised his hands up in the air in frustration as he walked up to Dr. Froid. "Um, excuse me sir…" Dr. Froid noticed our heroes and gawked.
"What the? What are you kids doing here? This room is for staff only!" Dr. Froid growled.
"Wait! We're sorry to come in here without permission!" Bridget reasoned with him, Dr. Froid calm down. Bridget cleared her throat and continued. "We just came here because ACDC Town's water supply has stopped."
"I know…" Dr. Froid looked down sadly.
"Lan, looks like he knows." MegaMan whispered to him. Renee however, was skeptical of Dr. Froid's reply.
'Something's wrong, he's hiding something…' Renee thought to herself as she remember what Ms. Mari told her at school. Dr. Froid continued while Renee was lost in her trail of thought.
"There is a bug in the pump program. We don't know how it appeared, but rest assure we're doing everything we can to fix it. My name is Froid by the way. Would you kids like a tour of the Waterworks?" Dr. Froid smiled suspiciously.
"Um, no thank you, we'll head on home, then." Zoey told him with a skeptical glare. She motioned her friends to do the same as they quietly left the pump room while Froid glares at them leaving. As our heroes leave, he turned to his right of the pump room door.
"I know you're there, Madd…" He said coldly. A tall and slender woman with black eyes with purple eyeshadow and orange hair tied in big fluffy bunches at the side of her head and a spiky fringe at the front. She wore an orange and white t-shirt with a Navi mark of a yellow surrounding on the front over a long sleeved maroon shirt, blue, green and purple striped trousers and orange trainers with white laces, she also has small silver hoop rings on her ears. She smirked evilly.
"Is everyone proceeding as planned?" Ms. Madd smirked evilly. Froid growled angrily but lowered his head in shame.
"Y-Yes… We are stopping the water in ACDC Town just as you ordered." He said lowly.
"Good, but remember, betray us… and you'll never see your son again. Got it?" Ms. Madd chuckled evilly as she left, Froid was silent as a tear fell out of his eye. Unknownbest to him and possibly Ms. Madd, the white haired boy from before was hiding near the servers, having heard the conversation, but remained silent.
(Back to our heroes…)
Our heroes were in the lobby, wondering about how Dr. Froid knows about the water problem for ACDC Town. "Something's fishy here…" MegaMan frowned from his PET. Lan took out his PET and the Mew Mews hunched with him to look at MegaMan on what he meant.
"What do you mean, MegaMan?" Zoey asked confusedly but frowned seriously as well.
"Isn't it weird that an Official NetBattler came here to check on the Waterworks' bug problem? And it's not just water that's missing!" MegaMan added his two cents. Our heroes paused to think about what MegaMan said.
"I smell a WWW plot…" Bridget frowned seriously.
"If they're involved in this, we'll kick their butts like always!" Kikki growled as she punch the air repeatly. Her friends nodded in agreement as Lan has an idea.
"I know, let's hide in my dad's office until it's nighttime, then we can go to the Waterworks to jack in and find out what's going on." He suggested.
Renee nodded and said "Good idea, Lan. Maybe we can understand the situation at night." MegaMan from his PET and the other Mew Mews nodded in agreement as they went back to Scilab and entered Dr. Hikari's office.
Later that night…
Lan and the Mews looked at his PET's clock. It was already nighttime and it was 9:00 PM. Lan smiled and turned to the Mew Mews. "Alright, it's 9:00 PM, plus it's Saturday, so everyone in the building must have gone home by now."
"Alright, let's get to the bottom of this mystery…" Zoey raised her fist with determination, the gang nodded in agreement and headed back to the Waterworks' pump room hallway.
"Now where can we jack in?" Corina wondered as she looked around, Bridget then noticed a watercooler with a Jack-in port.
"Maybe we can jack into that watercooler?" Bridget pointed to the watercooler.
"Way to go, Bridget! What can we do without ya?" Kikki beamed, Bridget giggled and closed her eyes in response. The gang got near the watercooler. Lan got out his PET while the Mew Mews held out their Marks of S.
"Jack in! MegaMan, execut-" Before Lan can finish, a familiar voice called out to them.
"Hey!" Our heroes froze in shock as Ms. Madd walked up to our heroes with a cold glare. "What are you kids doing here?! And what are you doing?" She demanded coldly.
"Um…" Lan tried to think up an excuse, luckily Renee helped him out.
"I'm just taking these kids on a trip as a field trip, but it got dark and we got lost along the way." She lied, while glaring at Ms. Madd.
"I see… Well, you lot shouldn't be in here! Go home, understand?!" Ms. Madd issued. Our heroes nodded slowly. She smiled. "Good, now run on home like the good people you are." With that said, Ms. Madd left.
"Thanks for the save, Renee." Zoey sighed in relief before looking up in determination. "But we got a job to do! Lan?" She winked at our hero.
Lan nodded with a grin and replied "Right!" Lan got out his PET and yelled "Jack-in! MegaMan, execute!"
The Mew Mews held up their Marks of S and yelled out "Jack-in! Marks of S!" And MegaMan and the Mew Mews jacked into the Waterworks' Cyberworld.
MegaMan and the Mew Mews in their Mew forms appeared in the Waterworks' Cyberworld, but are shocked to see it chilly. "What the? It's frosty here…" She shivered.
"Dr. Froid said he is debugging, but there's no programs or worker Navis here." MegaMan frowned as he pondered what's going on.
"I smell a rat and a WWW plot to boot." Rene tensed.
Lan nodded in agreement with a serious frown and said "I agree with Renee. We need to fix this problem fast! Be on guard, everyone!" MegaMan and the Mew Mews nodded in agreement and began their trek through the Waterworks' Cyberworld.
In the first area of the Cyberword, they saw a faucet pouring water over their path, they turned it off and continued on, along the way, they fought Aqua based viruses which Lan and MegaMan tested the ElecSword Battle Chip on, gaining new Battle Chips in the process after delating the Aqua viruses. They reached a warp pad, nodding to each other, our heroes enter the warp pad and entered the second area.
However, when they were walking down the second area's path, MegaMan noticed a figure up ahead with his back turned. "Huh?" He and the Mew Mews stopped and looked at the figure.
The figure turned around and saw our heroes. He was a red NetNavi with a Navi symbol that looks like a circle split with a thunderbolt pattern into two black and white sections on his chest and gloves. His helmet hides his eyes and has silver hair, he also wields an red energy sword, could be a Wide Sword. "? …And you are?" He asked coldly.
"Watch out, gang! It could be a WWW NetNavi!" Lan warned, the red NetNavi scowled as he swiped at MegaMan and the Mew Mews, they leaped a bit away from it to avoid getting hit.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Zoey demanded with a growl.
"You dare call me a WWW Navi?" The red Navi refuted.
"What is it, ProtoMan?" A familiar voice asked as a second screen came on. Lan and his friends' eyes widen in shock, it was that rude boy from before!
"Chaud, sir!" The red Navi now known as ProtoMan saluted.
"You're that kid from before!" Lan gawked.
"What? You kids again?" The boy known as Chaud frowned. "You're not Official NetBattlers, are you? Are you lost?"
"Do we look lost?" Lan sneered as an anger vein appeared on his forehead. This guy is starting to irritate him.
"Whatever… But I am an Official NetBattler, Eugene Chaud!" Chaud frowned seriously as he introduced himself coldy.
"And I am his NetNavi, ProtoMan!" ProtoMan struck a pose.
"Get in our way and we'll have to delete you and those odd looking Navis, kid." Chaud told our heroes coldly.
"B-But you can't just delete anyone who gets in your way!" Zoey stammered but said angrily as she stands in front of MegaMan and got into a defensive position. Chaud and ProtoMan looked at Zoey confusedly.
"What the? Where's your Navi symbol?" Chaud demanded.
Zoey smirked and smugly answered Chaud. "I'm not a NetNavi, I'm a human and so are my four friends." That confused ProtoMan.
"How can humans get into Cyberworld? …Unless…" ProtoMan wondered before Chaud interrupted him.
"ProtoMan, we'll figure it out later, we got a mission to do. Also, I can easily delete anyone and I'm a ace at that." Chaud smirked cockily but coldly.
"Sir!" ProtoMan acknowledged as he jacked out.
"We'll deal with you kids later, watch out for WWW agents, kid." Chaud taunted as he closed his screen. Lan growled as his face was red with anger and steam coming out of his ears.
"Grrrr! That guy burns me up! Who does he think he is?!" Lan snarled in fury.
"Yeah, I agree with Lan! He's a jerk!" Kikki nodded angrily as well.
"Lan, Kikki, yelling like that will make you thirsty." MegaMan soothed, that help Lan and Kikki calm down.
"You're right, MegaMan. We got to find out why the water in ACDC Town disappeared." Lan smiled.
"Yeah, so let's do this!" Kikki pumped her fist in the air with determination, the four other Mews nodded as our heroes pressed on.
Halfway through, they encountered a colorful NetNavi blocking a path. "Hey there. Unfortunately, this path is closed for maintenance. Sorry." He told them cheerfully.
"Uh, okay…" MegaMan raised an eyebrow as he and the Mew Mews continued onwards. Our heroes solved a icy path puzzle by using the faucets to help make a path Eventually, they arrived at an area with a machine covered in ice.
"Hey!" Corina gasped as she and the gang looked at. "Maybe this is what's causing the drought?"
"I don't…? Watch out!" Renee tensed as she, MegaMan and the other Mew Mews dodged ice cubes flung at them by two polar bear viruses. "What the?! Where did those viruses come from?!" She gasped.
"We can figure it out later! Here they come!" Lan warned from his screen as the polar bear viruses continue firing ice cubes at our heroes.
"Yikes! Ice cubes at twelve o clock!" Zoey shrieked as she and Kikki frantically dodged the ice cubes.
"We have to deal with them before we can fix this machine!" Corina readies her Heart Arrow and yelled out "Heart Arrow!" She fired her attack at the polar bear viruses, giving them medium damage. The Cold Bears retaliated by firing more ice cubes at the gang. Bridget and Kikki were hit for small damage.
"Bridget! Kikki! Are you two alright?!" MegaMan gasped as he and Zoey rushed up to them.
"Don't worry about us, MegaMan." Bridget smiled but winced as Zoey helped her friend up. "We Mew Mews are a lot tougher than we look. And besides, you, Lan and us are friends and teammates, right?"
"Yeah, because not only are we friends, we're an unbeatable team!" Lan smiled softly as he got out the ElecSword Battle Chip. With a smirk, Lan shouted out "ElecSword! Battle Chip! Slot-in!" He inserted the Battle Chip into his PET's Chip Slot. The ElecSword replaced MegaMan's left hand and he got into a fencing position.
"Alright, Lan! By my calculations, my ElecSword will instantly delete those Cold Bears!" With a heroic yell, MegaMan charged towards the Cold Bears, dodging their ice cubes and got close to them and slashed them three times, instantly deleting the viruses.
"Way to go, Lan and MegaMan!" Zoey leaped for joy.
MegaMan looked at his friends and smiled before he looked at the ice covered machine with a small frown. "I think those Cold Bears are responsible for the bug plaguing ACDC Town's water supply…" MegaMan deduced.
"Pretty easy, huh?" Lan grinned as he typed in on his PET. "MegaMan! I'm sending you a fire shot. Use it to get that machine back in working condition." With a press of a button, Lan installed the fire shot into MegaMan.
"Will do!" MegaMan nodded as he fired the fire shot at the machine, melting the ice and thawing it out.
"That should do it." Corina place her hands on her hips, closed her eyes and smiled cheerfully.
"Let's go see the pond at school and hope the water is back on." Bridget suggested, everyone nodded in agreement as MegaMan and the Mew Mews jacked out.
After taking the Metroline back to ACDC Town, the gang headed back to ACDC Elementary. However, they noticed the pond has a purple water instead of the clean one. "What the? That's not clean water…" Lan muttered in confusion.
"But I thought we fixed the water pump program." Kikki was confused as well. Suddenly, a man dying of thirst came in, he then sees the purple watch and limp towards it. Our heroes tried to stop him, but to no avail. As soon as he drank the purple water, he suddenly felt sick and kneed down in pain.
"Uh oh! He's sick from whatever that water is!" Zoey covered her mouth in shock. Suddenly, Lan's PET ranged and he answered it, on the other end of the screen is Chaud and he doesn't look happy with our heroes.
"You brats really done it now!" He scowled.
"Chaud!" Lan gasped in shock.
"People everywhere are drinking the polluted water…" Chaud hissed. "The real problem is the water filtering program! This is all your fault!" Chaud yelled angrily at our heroes.
"B-But…" Lan looked down sorrowfully, ashamed he caused all this.
"Just stay out of my way, okay?" Chaud warned before he hanged up. Renee placed her hand on Lan's shoulder as our young hero looked up to see Renee smiling softly at him.
"Lan, it's alright. We made a mistake, but we can fix this." She reassured him.
"Renee's right, Lan! We can still fix the bug in the water pump Cyberworld. Let's head back to the Waterworks and fixed it for real!" MegaMan also cheered Lan up. The other Mew Mews agreed with MegaMan and Renee with looks of determination.
"You guys…" Lan whispered with a soft smile before he grinned heroically. "Alright, let's show that jerk Chaud what we can do!" MegaMan in his PET and the Mew Mews nodded in agreement as they exited ACDC Elementary.
When they exited the school, Lan's PET ranged. "Lan! You got mail! It's from Yai! I'll read it." MegaMan read the email. "I forgot to tell you the name of the missing student from Class B. His name is Tory Froid. And I believed the WWW may have kidnapped him to make his father do all those evil things. So good luck!" …Lan, she said Froid!" MegaMan gasped in shock.
"Those WWW evildoers! Kidnapping Froid's son so he can do their awful bidding!" Corina growled as she pounded her palms in anger.
"So it all makes sense now." Renee frowned as she crossed her arms.
"Yeah, the evildoers at WWW kidnapped Froid's son so he can stop the water for their nefarious schemes!" Zoey agreed furiously.
"Right! We got to find Tory and rescue him!" Lan nodded before he realized something. "But where can he be?" Zoey then got an idea.
"Wait, while we were heading to Higsby's, I saw a car parked near his shop. I think that's where we will find Tory!"
"Way to go, Zoey!" MegaMan praised her with a smile which made Zoey blushed. "Lan, everyone! To the car!" Our heroes nodded in agreement and rushed to the car.
When they got there, Lan opened the door and out rolled out a kid who has brown hair, white jacket blue shirt and light blue pants. The boy groaned as he rubbed his head. He looked up to his saviors. "Hey, you're that Lan fellow. And those must be Zoey Hanson, Corina Bucksworth, Bridget Verdant, Kikki Benjamin and Ms. Roberts.
"Please." Renee smiled softly at him. "Renee is fine, no need for formalities. Are you Froid's son, Tory?" She asked him. Tory nodded before looking down in sadness.
"The WWW kidnapped me so they can force my dad to do all those awful things. We have to stop him!" He pleaded.
"We were right!" MegaMan corrected acknowledged.
"Don't worry! We'll stop your dad and get the water back to our town!" Lan grinned as he rubbed his nose heroically.
"Thanks Lan! Here." He use his PET to give Lan a handle program. "My dad uses this program for his job. It's called Handle. Also, give this message saying I'm okay to his Navi named IceMan. He looks like a Eskimo, you can't miss him." Tory also gave our heroes his message.
"Roger! Leave it to us!" Zoey gave Tory a thumbs up as she, Lan and the other Mew Mews rushed back to the Waterworks and used the watercooler to jack back in. MegaMan and the Mew Mews came back to where that colorful Navi is, only to discover he is gone. MegaMan then noticed a faucet with a handle missing. Remembering the handle program, he installed it into the faucet and used it to turn off the water. MegaMan and the Mew Mews then continued forward, eventually reaching the pump program area.
MegaMan and the Mew Mews saw ProtoMan aiming his sword at a Eskimo like NetNavi. ProtoMan noticed them and frowned deeply. "You're too late… It's all over." Chaud came on another screen and frowned at our heroes.
"Didn't I tell you brats not to get in our way?" He scolded our heroes.
"Wait! Chaud and ProtoMan!" Bridget tried to reason with them, but the Eskimo Navi growled and got up and blew ice at ProtoMan, but he put up a shield to block them. Froid came on a third screen with a cold glare.
"I have to protect my son…" Froid said dangerously.
The Eskimo Navi nodded in agreement with Froid and shouted out "Yeah! IceMan still has a job to do!"
"Humph! Oh yeah? Then how about a taste of my-" Before ProtoMan can attack, MegaMan stood between ProtoMan and the Navi known as IceMan.
"Wait! Dr. Froid and his Navi are innocent!" MegaMan tried to reason with Chaud and ProtoMan.
"Yeah, the WWW were using-" Before Zoey can finish, Chaud coldly interrupted her.
"How could you lot say that… After everyone in DenCity have suffered because of those two?" Chaud growled fiercely. "If you defend them, the Official NetBattlers will never forgive villains like you!" Suddenly, Chaud's PET ranged, indicating he got an email.
"Chaud, sir! You got mail from HQ. …We've been had!"
"Ugh!" Chaud growled as he clenched his fist in anger. "Those two were a decoy! The A-ranked WWW Operator's real goal was the Aqua Program!" That confused Lan, MegaMan and the Mew Mews.
"Aqua Program? Isn't that one of the super programs?" Lan wondered.
"The WWW Navi is still here in this Cyberworld, forget those two and find them! We must protect the Aqua Program at once!" Chaud ordered.
"Sir!" ProtoMan obeyed with a nod as he jacked out.
"Hey wait!" IceMan tried to stop them, but was too late. MegaMan and the Mew Mews turned to IceMan.
"Hey, are you IceMan? Listen to what we have to sa-" Before MegaMan can finished, he was interrupted by IceMan's scowl as he blows ice at our heroes.
"S-Silence! We must obey the orders of the WWW!" IceMan growled as he got into a battle stance. He then blows ice at the Mew Mews' feet, freezing their feet briefly.
"Ack! Our feet are frozen!" Zoey panicked as she and her friends tried to move but to little to no avail.
"Yeah! If we don't do what the WWW tells us to do, I'll never see my son again!" Froid growled.
"Lan, they won't listen! We have to beat them in a NetBattle!" MegaMan frowned as he got ready.
"Looks like we have no choice! MegaMan! Battle routine, set!" Lan set up the battle routine.
"Execute!" MegaMan acknowledged as he and IceMan got ready for battle.
MegaMan VS IceMan
"Get ready to freeze!" IceMan growled as he blew ice towards MegaMan, he was hit for medium damage, but the Blue Bomber counterattacked by firing Buster shots at IceMan, giving him medium damage.
"Lan and I won't lose! We will make you two listen!" MegaMan gritted his teeth as he charged towards IceMan and punched him in the chest, knocking him back a little.
IceMan growled as he shouted "We have to protect Tory!" IceMan then blew ice and created a ice cube and kicked it towards MegaMan, he narrowly leaped above it.
"Try this on for size! Sword! Battle Chip! Slot-in!" Lan yelled as he inserted the Battle Chip. The Sword appeared on MegaMan's arm and he charged towards IceMan and slashed him three times, giving the Ice Navi medium damage.
"So you want to fight sword with sword, huh kid?" Froid sneered as he got out a Battle Chip with a picture of a icy sword. "Ice Slasher! Battle Chip! Slot-in!" An ice sword appeared in IceMan's hands. MegaMan and IceMan then clashed swords for about 2 minutes before leaping away from each other. IceMan let out a battle cry as he leaped up and brought his sword down on MegaMan, however, MegaMan saw through it and clashed with the Ice Slasher, breaking it. MegaMan then followed up by slashing IceMan four times.
"Okay pal, now you made us mad!" IceMan growled as he clenched his fist. He then made an ice bomb appear and threw it at MegaMan, our blue hero dodged it, but when the bomb hit the ground, it created five ice spikes which gave MegaMan medium damage.
"Lan! We have to end this battle now!" MegaMan called out to his friend and NetOp. Lan nodded as he got out the ElecSword Battle Chip.
"ElecSword! Battle Chip! Slot-in!" Lan inserted the Battle Chip into his PET. Good timing because IceMan was about to throw another ice bomb. MegaMan wielding his ElecSword and charged at IceMan, slashing and shocking him, which made IceMan screamed in pain as he kneed down, defeated.
"'m sorry, Dr. Froid… I failed…" IceMan looked down in sadness. Zoey and her friends managed to get their feet free from the ice.
"There's nothing we can do… and now my son…" Froid closed his eyes and sniffled, tears fall out of his eyes.
"IceMan, wait! Read the letter MegaMan will give you!" Zoey pleaded as MegaMan gave a confused IceMan Tory's letter.
IceMan thoroughly read the letter and gasped in shock. "Dr. Froid, sir! It's a letter from your son! He's alright!" Dr. Froid's eyes widen in shock.
"Your son is okay!" Lan smiled softly.
"B-But after everything I done…" Dr. Froid looked down in shame. But Zoey reassured both him and IceMan.
"Don't worry about it! We got to get the net back up before everyone dies from the polluted water!" Zoey pleaded.
"…You're right, kids. IceMan, we have to make amends for helping the WWW!" Dr. Froid ordered with a smile. IceMan smiled back as he inhales the ice from the water pump program, restoring it and the Net. "Now DenCity and ACDC Town's water will be up in its clearest form!" Dr. Froid smiled.
"Woohoo Now we can drink water again!" Lan cheered. Suddenly, there was a alarm which caught our heroes and Dr. Froid and IceMan by surprise. "What the?!" Lan gasped.
(With Chaud and ProtoMan..)
ProtoMan confronted the colorful Navi from before who is holding an advanced program of some kind. "Well done finding me! You're better than the rest of those sucker Navis!" The colorful Navi taunted with a fiendish laugh
ProtoMan growled and pointed his sword at the WWW Navi. "Put down that Aqua Program or else…" He warned.
"Sorry, we got what we came here for, but you'll face me, ColorMan soon enough!" ColorMan mocked as Ms. Madd came on a screen.
"I'm jacking you out, ColorMan!" Ms. Madd grinned evilly.
"Understand, Ms. Madd! Hasta la vista, baby!" ColorMan winked tauntly as he jacked out. MegaMan, IceMan and the Mew Mews ran up to ProtoMan.
"ProtoMan…" MegaMan said softly, ProtoMan looked away with a huff. Chaud came on a screen and looked at our heroes angrily.
"You brats are starting to annoy me!" He growled angrily.
"Chaud…" Lan began, wondering why the WWW is after the Super Programs. "Why are the WWW collecting the Super Programs?"
"Figure it out by yourself. ProtoMan, we're leaving." Chaud told him coldly.
"Sir!" ProtoMan acknowledged as Chaud jacked his Navi out.
Dr. Froid scratched his chin in thought and explained "…We use that program to make tasty clear water. But I don't understand why the WWW is after it."
IceMan then turned to MegaMan and Zoey. "Hey, MegaMan and Zoey Hanson, was it?" MegaMan and Zoey looked at the Eskimo Navi curiously. IceMan then smiled and added "I think you two make a cute couple." That caught MegaMan and Zoey off guard as they looked away from each other and blushed madly.
'I wonder what Roll would think of this…' MegaMan thought bashfully.
"Uh, as much as I like this little romance scene to continue, let's check in on Tory." Renee smirked playfully at the two would be couple. MegaMan, the other Mew Mews and IceMan nodded as they jacked out.
(Back in ACDC Town)
The Froids and our heroes were at the park, celebrating another foiled WWW scheme. Dr. Froid turned to face our heroes and smiled. "I don't know how to thank you kids. I will do my best to keep the water clean from now on."
"D-Dad…" Tory sniffled as he hugged his father which he hugged him back.
"Ahhh… family!" MegaMan smiled from his PET. Bridget has tears of happiness.
"I guess…" Lan smiled softly. MegaMan noticed Lan's behavior.
"Huh? I was expecting the usual sarcasm. You homesick, Lan?" MegaMan asked in concern. Lan took out his PET and grinned at his Navi.
"No way, MegaMan! But the WWW are plotting something with the Super Programs, but we'll make sure what they are planning to do with them fails!"
"You bet!" MegaMan agreed, grinning as well.
"And we'll show that Chaud jerk what we can do, right girls?" Lan beamed as he held out his hand.
"Yeah!" The Mew Mews cheered as they put their hands on Lan's hand and did the usual teamwork and power of friendship gesture. Our heroes have saved ACDC Town and DenCity from the WWW's fiendish drought! But why are the WWW collecting the super programs?
Meanwhile…
Ms. Madd, Mr. Match and a man named Count Zap bowed before the WWW leader and his right-hand man, Yahoot. The WWW leader growled in anger as he reviewed the recent failures of the WWW. "All our schemes in DenCity are failing!" The three WWW Operators lowed their heads in shame.
"We are also having some funding issues as well." Yahoot added with a serious frown as he brought up a holographic graph of bad funding. The WWW Leader turned to his minions with the fiercest of glares.
"If this keeps up, the WWW's plans to control the Net will be up in smoke!" The WWW leader roared in anger. "So what seems to be the problem?!" He demanded.
"Apologies, Lord Wily!" Mr. Match stammered before he calm down and began explaining why their plots are failing.
"What is it?!" Lord Wily demanded angrily.
"There's this NetOp and Navi team along with five girls…" Before Mr. Match can continue, Lord Wily interrupted him with a snear.
"Hmph! Official NetBattlers, is it?" He asked cruelly. Mr. Match shook his head no.
"No, there's this wee laddie named Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan. And five mysterious girls who can jack into the Net. Plus there's more about those five girls. They appeared to be half human and half animal." Mr. Match was about to continued before Lord Wily slams his hands on his desk in anger.
"What are you talking about?! Our WWW Navis can handle anything, especially some brats! No excuses!" Lord Wily snarled in anger.
"But Lord Wily…" Mr. Match started to protest, but Lord Wily snarled in fury.
"I said no more excuses! Delete all those who stand in your way!" He ordered fiercely. Ms. Madd stepped forward.
"Yes, Lord Wily. I may have a plan that not only you will like, but will solve our money problem." Ms. Madd smirked evilly.
"Then hop to it!" Lord Wily ordered as he exited the meeting room.
"We'll await your favorable report." Yahoot told her as he followed his lord. Leaving the three WWW Operators to talk amongst themselves.
Ms. Madd sighed and complained with "Why must we get every Super Program?! We may have Fire and Aqua, but not Elec and Wood!" Count Zap stopped her, shaking his head and motioned her to whisper so Lord Wily and Yahoot won't hear her.
"You're right, but we must not speak of the Life Virus! It's so top secret that only Yahoot knows about it!" Count Zap whispered.
Ms. Madd sighed in annoyance before nodded reluctantly. "I know. While I'm working on our money problem I'll gather more info about this Lan kid and his Navi, MegaMan."
5 minutes later…
Lord Wily was alone in his room, what Mr. Match told him made him wonder if Lan is related to the family he hates… and also the five girls who can jack into the net without PETs.
"Lan and five girls who can enter the internet… Hmm, I wonder…" Lord Wily scratched his moustache in thought.
What is the Life Virus? And who is Lord Wily, the evil leader of the WWW?
