Time passed and it had been 6 months since Ben came to the magic library. He scanned 422,751 magic books, a lot less than his prediction of more than 475 thousand books. There were a few issues that prevented him from scanning that many.
Ben forgot that he was a human, not a robot. He had feelings and could get bored doing the same thing every day. He needed entertainment, so he left the library a few times to find some entertainment.
"It's not the best result, but it's very good already. I've scanned about 40% of the books here and that's enough for now. Besides, I've finished scanning all the books related to my elements. I can always return here in the future." Ben said.
In the last 4 months, Ben has improved his Clone and Transformation Magic. He can make 7 clones now and they were all based off the 7 Deadly Sins. Fortunately, Ben was able to tame all of them.
He wanted to make an 8th clone and was very curious about it's personality. But it was very difficult and he made no progress after creating the 7th clone last month. He felt like he hit a big wall with his Clone Magic and needed to break through it.
Ben didn't think much about it and will just improve the magic slowly. He was not in a rush to improve it and 7 clones are good enough because he knows a lot of mages couldn't make more than 4 clones.
As for Teleportation Magic, Ben can teleport up to 5 km now. It can't be said it's too long distance, but it's not too short either. He can only increase it from 500 meters to 5 km in the last 4 months because this magic is very difficult to train.
Ben had also duplicated the library's key so he can enter it anytime. He also studied the library's defense mechanisms and can easily breach them now. He can even build similar defense mechanisms from the results of his scans.
Other than magic books, Ben also scanned other books like the history of the magic world. Many things in history piqued his interest and gave him some enlightenment. Many big events made him happy or sad.
One event is about Nirvana. The event happened around his guild's location, so it piqued his interest. Nirvana was made by the Nirvits who lived in the forest where his village was located.
The Nirvits had a similar appearance to Roubaul and his guild mates. That's why Ben was interested. But something didn't sit right in his heart when he remembered some strange things about Roubaul's actions.
"Maybe Gramps and the others are their descendants and don't know much about this event. That should be why they never told me about this thing. Well, I'll ask them after I get back." Ben said to get his mind off it.
After packing their belongings and removing any traces of them from this library, Ben and Bella leave the Magic Library. They resume their journey and walk to the east. There were 3 months left for them to finish their journey, so they need to be quick.
While moving to the east, Ben tried to make some magical items using the new magic he learned in the library. He experiments every time he rests along the way. Morgbitt's magical items help him make better magical items as he also learned about them.
The first magical item he wanted to create was a magical storage item. There are magical storage items of different shapes, but their number is small. That's why they are very expensive even though their spaces are small.
Ben also never saw them and only heard of them due to their rarity. Only a few people have such a item like the king or masters of big-name guilds. A small guild like his will never even get a glimpse of one.
He experimented many times for several days after leaving the magic library. His experiments slow his journey down, which was fine. There weren't a whole lot of places for Ben to visit.
Ben spent the last few years exploring the east side of Fiore. So he just needed to explore the south and central side. Those places can be explored fast and 3 months were more than enough time.
The south side had a small forest and a wide span of Savannah. There's also a big, long river that split with the west and central sides. Ben and Bella really enjoy their time there because it was a very peaceful place.
The creatures here are wild, but they weren't ferocious and aggressive. They don't attack anyone and merely hunt for prey. So none of the creatures attacked Ben and Bella as they walked through the south side's forest and Savannah.
"It's good that this place is peaceful. But doesn't it have anything interesting?" Ben asked as he laid on the grass and relaxed.
"Milk." Bella said as she raised her milk bottle.
"Yeah, milk is interesting, but it's not from this place." Ben said.
Ben and Bella resume their journey after resting for a few minutes. They keep searching for anything interesting as they walk. For hours, they find nothing, but finally, they found something after the sun set.
"Oho, this is a big discovery." Ben said excitedly.
What they find is a big crater in the ground. A black shiny stone was in the middle of the crater. It was a meteor. The meteor was the size of a volleyball, so it was big considering the meteor burned up in the atmosphere.
It was rare to see a meteor this big because most of them would be burned to ashes. But it was also strange that such a big meteor was still located where it fell. Usually, people would have taken it already because it seems it was here for a long time.
"The fall must've caused a tremor and it should've glowed brightly as it fell from the sky. Did no one notice it at all?" Ben asked out loud as he stepped into the crater.
Ben inspected the crater with A.I Chip, who scanned it. A.I Chip estimated the crater was formed 9 months ago. Ben wondered why the meteor was still here after 9 months.
"Hmm, maybe no one realized it and no one came here for months. This is my lucky day. A.I Chip, scan the meteor." Ben said.
A.I Chip scanned the meteor and it took 3 minutes for the scan to be completed. The results shake Ben to the core and he smiled like an idiot.
"It's good news and bad news at the same time." Ben said as his smile vanished.
The good news was that the meteor was made of some rare metals and minerals. The bad news was the meteor would explode if he wasn't careful lifting it out of the crater. The meteor would explode because it fell on a crystal and that caused a chemical reaction which would lead to an explosion.
Ben thought of a way to safely remove the meteor from the crater. He wasn't going to miss this opportunity. The meteor is rare and so are the metals and minerals inside it.
"Alright, let's do this." Ben said.
He took a deep breath and concentrated. He gathered his magic power and assumed his Light Mode. Then he grabbed the meteor and ran away before teleporting as far as he can.
There was a large explosion in the crater and it created a large shock wave that reached Ben's location after he teleported 50km. If he was still in the crater, the explosion would've consumed him.
"That looks scary, but this was worth it." Ben said as he happily looked at the meteor.
