The day at the beach had been so wonderful. Charles had held her hand and paddled with her in the ocean. After they had dried out, he took her arm in his and they set off for a stroll on the pier. They came across a cozy bar, and upon his insistence, they went in. She smiled broadly when the bartender suggested French 75s and Mr. Carson readily agreed to try the sweet cocktail.

" I'll admit this is delicious " Mr. Carson stated as. Mrs hughes eyed him teasingly.

As the bartender passes them each a second glass she looks down and smiles, they had not lost contact since the paddle in the water. She can feel the warmth of him as their arms touch as they rest accross the bar. "Mr. Cars..." she starts to speak.

"Charles, please... Elsie, you can call me Charles, we're not working today, today we are free to be wholy ourselves. " he turned to gaze into her eyes.

She put her hand over his while he was speaking, then turned this hand so their palms touched, wound her fingers between his and squeezed. He smiled as she continued "Charles I" she paused

" I just wanted to say, today has been so lovely. The best day I've had. I'm going to miss you so much" She breathed.

He smiled with sadness In his eyes and leaned in to her, just as their lips met the bell above the door rang and Mr. Mosley stumbled in.

" there you two are! Train leaves in 8 minutes" he pants.

Charles quickly pays for the drinks and hustles Elsie along.

As Always, interrupted they both sigh rushing off to the train.

On the train, just in time.

Settling into the seat beside her Charles still held her hand. She was willing herself not to read too much into things. "Dont to get ahead of herself."she thought. Her heart has been a flutter all afternoon
