[A flock of tickbirds takes to the air.]

(Birds wabbling)

(Snorting)

[A herd of oryx crests a grassy hill and runs across the plains.]

[One oryx glances fearfully over its shoulder. Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu run among the herd.]

Janja: C'mon, boys! It's lunch time, and I'm starving!

Chungu: I'm always starving!

Cheezi:(Laughing)

Kito: Hyenas!

[The hyenas pull to a halt. Through the dust, the Lion Guard emerges.]

Hyenas:(Scared yelps)

Chungu: Hey!

Kito[Kito steps forward.] I thought I told you to stay out of the Pride Lands!

Janja: Did ya now? [Janja stands.] My stomach keeps forgettin'.

Chungu: His stomach forgets. [Chungu looks at Cheezi.] (Laughs) That's a good one!

Kito: Go!

Janja: Oh, no.

(The hyenas leave)

Cheezi: (Laughs) That cub's go no sense of humor!

Kito[Kito looks over her shoulder] Lion Guard, calm the herd! I'll take care of these guys.

Fuli: You got it.

[Kito goes after the hyenas)

Chungu: We're leaving? What about lunch?

Janja: All of the sudden I'm not so hungry.

Cheezi: But Janja! You said you were starving!

Janja: Just run, fur brain!

Kito: That's right! Back to the Outlands! Now! (Yells and grunts)

(Creaking)

Kito: [Kito falls into a river and grabs onto a log] (Yells and grunts) (Coughing)

[The rest of the Lion guard calms down the herd]

Beshte: That's right Easy there. You're all okay now.

Bunga: Yeah! Kito's chased those hyenas back into the Outlands!

Fuli: And she should be back by now. Ono, check on Kito.

Ono: Affirmative! [Ono flys away and looks for Kito]Hapana!

Kito:(Grunting)

Ono: [Ono comes to the rest of the lion guard] Everyone, everyone! Kito's in trouble! Come on!

Kito:(Grunting) (Gasps)

[The lion guard goes after Kito]

Bunga: Kito! Hang on, Kito, we're coming!

[Bunga jumps into the water]

Beshte: Little B, don't! The current's too strong!

Fuli: Ono! Keep pace with Kito!

Ono: Right!

[Beshte goes after Bunga and picks him up from the water]

Bunga:(Coughing) Whoa! (Panting) Thanks, Big B.

Ono:

Hang in there, Kito. Oh, no! Kito, look out! Rocks! Straight ahead!

[The log continues to carry Kito and brings her shore]

Kito: Whoa! (Panting) (Coughing) (Panting) (Sighs)

[On the other side Fuli, Beshte and Bunga apporch]

Fuli: Kito! Are you all right?

Kito:{Kito sits up} A little wet. (Coughs) But I'm okay.

Ono: [Ono lands next to Kito] But Kito, look. You're over here. In the Outlands.

Kito: I can see that, Ono. And it looks like I can take that trail upriver. Don't worry, Ono. I'll be fine. Besides, I don't have much of a choice. I definitely can't cross the river here. The water's way too rough. Lion Guard! Meet me at Flat Ridge Rock! I can cross the river there!

Beshte: Huh?

Fuli: Flat Ridge Rock?

Bunga: Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know exactly where that is! Follow me!

[Beshte and Fuli follow Bunga]

Kito: Thanks, Bunga! Ono!

Ono: Yes,Kito?

Kito: Better go with them. Make sure Bunga really does know where Flat Ridge Rock is.

Ono: Affirmative! Guys, wait up! [Ono follows Bunga, Fuli and Beshte]

[Kito climbs rocks into the Outlands and a mysterious figure watches her]

[The scene transitions and the rest of the Lion Guard walk in a forest]

Bunga: C'mon C'mon! We don't want Kito waiting up at Flat Ridge Rock wondering where we are. (Exclaims)

Beshte: What's wrong, Little B?

Bunga: [Bunga turns around] Uh, nothing.

Fuli: Bunga? Are you sure you know how to ge to Flat Ridge Rock?

Bunga: Pfft! Of course I know. It's this way Huh

Fuli:(Grunts)

[Fuli bumps into Beshte and Ono falls onto Beshte]

Ono:(Grunts) Ow.

Bunga: Wait, no, no, no, no. It's this way! [Bunga sees Ushari sleeping but wakes him up]

Ushari: (Hissing) Going somewhere Bunga?

Bunga: Nope Gotta be this way. [The lion guard walks in the opposite direction] Well, it's one of these ways.

Beshte: Too bad Kito's not here to lead us.

Ono: Do you even know where we are?

Bunga[Bunga turns around] Sure! Uh.. We're lost!

(All sigh)

(The scene tranitions back to the Kito who is lost in the Outlands)

Kito: Hmm. (Grunts) (Sniffing) [Kito turns around and Jasiri is behind her]

Jasiri: Hello! Surprise!

Kito:(Gasps)

Jasiri: [Jasiri jumps down from the rocks] (Laughs) Didn't know I was up here Did ya?

Kito: No, I...I knew you wee there the whole time... [Kito stares at Jasiri} Hyena.

Jasiri: Yep, I'm a hyena all right. You lion are so clever! (Laughs) Especially you, Kito. Leader of the Lion Guard.

Kito: You know me?

Jasiri: Just by reputation. The mark on your shoulder' a giveaway, though. (Laughs)

Kito: So, you're not in Janja's clan?

Jasiri: Janja? Yeah, that's a good one. What are you doing in the Outlands? Not exactly your territory.

Kito: I'm going to Flat Ridge Rock,so I can get back to the Pride Lands. If that's okay with you, hyena.

Jasiri: The name's Jasiri. And if you are headed back to the Pride Lands, you're going the wrong way.

Kito: Uh-huh. And I should trust a hyena because...

Jasiri: Because I want you out of my territory.

Kito: Good. I want out of your territory. (Scoffs) [Kito continues walking]

Jasiri: Then you're going the wrong way! [Jasiri follows Kito]

[The scene transitions to the rest of the Lion Guard who finally gets out of the woods]

[Ono lands next to Beshte]

Beshte: Thanks for getting us outta the woods, Ono.

Ono: No problem. But I don't know which way to go from here. I've never been to Flat Ridge Rock.

Beshte: Neither have I.

Fuli: Me neither.[Fuli looks at Bunga]

Bunga: Well, it's probably around here somewhere.

Beshte: [Beshte looks around and sees the zebra herd] All I see are grass, trees and zebras.

Fuli: [Fuli jumps] Ugh! I can't believe we don't know where to go! We're the Lion Guard. (Sighs) This never happens when Kito's around!

Beshte: Easy, Fuli. We just need to ask somebody for directions.

Thurston: [Thurston walks up to the Lion Guard] Hello, Lion Guard. I couldn't help but overhear. You need directions?

Bunga: Yeah, we do! Do you know where Flat Ridge Rock is?

Thurston: Flat Ridge Rock? Oh! Is that near Ukuni Woods? Or Big Springs?

Fuli: [Fuli shakes her head] We don't know where it is. That's why we're asking you!

Thurston: I see. Well, that's too bad. I'm not sure where it is. Now, where was I going?

Beshte: Uh, maybe back to your herd?

Thurston: Oh yes, of course. Thank you! [Thurston goes back to his herd]

Ono: Zebras. (Sighs) They never know where they're going.

Beshte: Hey! We could ask Mbeya the Rhino! He knows the Pride Lands like the back of his horn.

Fuli: Great. Any idea where we can find Mbeya?

Beshte: This time of day, Mbeya usually hangs out at the Watering Hole.

Bunga: Yeah! [Bunga walks the the wrong way and Fuli grabs him] Watering Hole, here we come.

Fuli: Ono, you lead this time.

Ono: Affirmative! Follow me!

[Beshte and Fuli follows Ono and Bunga walks the wrong way]

Fuli: This way, Bunga.

Bunga: I was taking a shortcut. [Bunga follow Fuli]

[The scene transitions back to Kito who walks in the Outlands, turns around and sees Jasiri]

Kito: Still following me?

Jasiri: You're still ignoring my advice.

Kito: About going the wrong way? (Scoffs) [Kito climbs a rock] I'm pretty sure I'm heading towards Flat Ridge Rock.

Jasiri: Maybe so, but you can't get there on this trail.

Kito: Oh, yeah? Why's that?

Jasiri: The trail ends. Here!

Kito: What? Whoa... [Kito falls into a thorn bush]

Jasiri: [Jasiri goes after Kito] (Cackling)

Kito: Heyvi kabisa!

Jasiri: (Growls)

[The scene transitions and Beshte is seen talking to Mbyea and Fuli, Beshte and Ono watch him]

Beshte: That's right, Mbeya.

Fuli: (Sighs) How long can it possibly take to ask for directions to Flat Ridge Rock? They've been talking forever!

Bunga: [Bunga picks up one hand] Beshte does like to talk.

Ono: Yes. But perhaps I'd better go talk to him. [Ono flys to Mbeya]

Mbeya: You get to be my age, you never know what might happen!

Beshte: (Laughs)

Ono: Sorry to interrupt. But Beshte? We have to meet Kito? At Flat Ridge Rock?

Beshte: Oh yeah! Guess I better be going. See you later, Mbeya.

Mbeya: Later, Beshte.

[Beshte and Ono leave Mbeya]

Fuli: So? What did he say?

Beshte: You won't believe it. Remember that heatwave we had yesterday?

Fuli: Yeah, I remember. It was hot. Now what did Mbeya say?

Beshte: He forgot to cover himself in mud! (Laughs)

Bunga: Why would Mbeya want to cover himself in mud, Big B?

Ono: That's how rhinos avoid sunburn. Common knowledge, really.

Fuli: (Sighs) I meant, what did Mbeya say about the directions?

Beshte: (Chuckles) Fuli, you don't need directions to cover yourself in mud. Just find a nice mud puddle and roll in it.

Fuli: Argh! Not directions for mud bathing. Directions for getting to Flat Ridge Rock!

Beshte: Oh, yeah! The directions to Flat Ridge Rock! I forgot to ask. Be right back. [Beshte goes back to Mbeya]

(All grunts)

Bunga: Yeah. Kito would never forget something like that.

[The scene transitions to the Outlands, Jasiri is seen helping Kito out of a thoron bush]

Jasiri: (Laughing) Hold still, this won't hurt at all. (Grunting)

Kito: Hey, what are you doing?

Jasiri: Getting you out of this thorn bush. If you'd just hold still!

Kito: What? Why would you help me? You're a hyena.

Jasiri: You lions really do think all hyenas are bad!

Kito: All the ones I've met are.

Jasiri: Like Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu? Well, obviously, I'm not like them. For one thing, they're males, which means they're foolish.

Kion: Not all males are foolish.

Jasiri: Says the daughter of a male lion flat on her back, stuck in a bush. (Laughing)

[Kito smiles at Jasiri]

[The scene transitions back to the rest of the Lion Guard who is seen walking in water]

Ono: Things would certainly go a lot better if Kito were leading us.

Bunga: Yeah. But you gotta love all these flies! [Bunga catches flies and eats them]

Fuli: Ugh. Yeah, gotta love 'em. Beshte, are you positive Mbeya said this is the way to Flat Ridge Rock?

Beshte: Yep! 'Course, he also said he's never actually been there.

Fuli:(Groans)

Ono: [Ono uses his vision and sees Flat Ridge Rock] Everyone! There's a ridge up ahead with a flat rock on top of it! It's gotta be Flat Ridge Rock!

Bunga: [Bunga jumps and gets mud on Fuli] Zuka Zama! Kito, here we come!

Fuli: This time, I'll lead the way. Comin' through. [Fuli speeds ahead]

Bunga: Fuli, slow down! How can you lead us when we can't keep up?

[Bunga, Beshte and Ono follow Fuli]

[The scene transitions back to the Outlands and, Kito is out of the thorn bush]

Kito: Thanks... I guess.

Jasiri: You guess?

Kito: Well, yeah! You could have told me the trail ended before I went over the hill!

Jasiri: Yeah. But then I wouldn't have seen the leader of the Lion Guard rolling down a hill! (Laughs)

Kito: Okay, you've had your laugh. Now I'm lost. Can you tell me how to get to Flat Ridge Rock?

Jasiri: Follow that trail. It'll take you to Flat Ridge Rock. And back to your beloved Pride Lands.

Kito: Thanks.(Grunts) [Kito is limping]

Jasiri: You're limping.

Kito: I'm fine. Just a little sore from the fall. I can handle it.

Jasiri: Okay, tell ya what. It's kinda my fault you're hurt. So I'll stick with you until you can see Flat Ridge Rock.

Kito: Okay. I mean, if you want to.

Jasiri: What I want? (Laughs) I want you out of my territory!

Kito: (Grunts) Yeah, well, me too.

[The scene transitions back to Beshte, Bunga and Ono who go to Flat Ridge rock and sees Fuli]

Bunga: (Grunting and sighing)

All: Huh? Fuli?

Fuli: [Fuli is seen cleaning herself] Hi, guys. What kept you? I even had time to clean up.

Beshte: Uh, Fuli? Usually Kito wouldn't get so far ahead that the rest of us have trouble keeping up.

Fuli: Oh. Sorry, guys.

Bunga: Wait! This is Flat Ridge Rock?

Ono: Well, this rock is pretty flat. And it's on a ridge.

Bunga: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah! I know this place! I've been here hundreds of times! You know, there's a great shortcut we could have used!

All: Bunga!

Bunga: What?

[The scene transitions back to the Outlands and a lizard eats another bug]

Lizard: (Gulps)

Kito: See that? That's the Circle of Life for you.

Jasiri: Wait. You think I don't know about the Circle of Life?

Kito: Well, you are a hyena.

Jasiri: [Jasiri puts her face in front of Kio] Look. I know Janja's clan is greedy and eats more than their share. But most hyenas respect the Circle of Life! We're the clean-up crews- [Jasiri walks away from Kito] picking up after all the sloppy eaters. We hyenas eat what you lions leave behind.

Kito: Oh. I guess I never really thought about it like that.

Jasiri: (Laughs) [Jasiri comes up to Kito]. Of course not.You think hyenas and lions are so different. But we're not! We're more similar than you think, Kito. Sisi ni sawa.

Kito: You're saying we're the same? No, I don't think so.

[Music starts]

Kito: You think that life

[Kito strides around Jasiri, who rolls her eyes.]

is one big game

You joke, you laugh,

[Kito turns her back on Jasiri.]

you take no blame

I'm telling you,

there's just no way

that we're the same

Jasiri: You got to look past

what you see

[Jasiri sidles up next to Kito.]

Try not to judge so easily

[Jasiri strides to Kito's other side.]

Believe it or not

[Jasiri leans toward Kito, who recoils.]

you're a lot like me

[Jasiri hops onto a rock.]

Say, believe it or not,

you're a lot like me

[Jasiri hops off the rock, with Kito watching.]

Sisi ni sawa

means we're the same

[Kito strides after Jasiri.]

Kito: I hear what you're saying

but you need to explain

[Jasiri looks into a pool of water.]

Jasiri: At the end of the day

it's like water and rain

[Kito looks into the pool of water, confused.]

Sisi ni sawa

we are the same

Maybe I laugh,

[Kito sidles up next to Jasiri, smiling.]

maybe you purr

But take a look

under the fur

[Jasiri hops onto a rock.]

Deep in our heart

is what matters for sure

[Jasiri bounds from rock to rock, and Kito follows her.]

'Cause we both know

we're higher called

[Kito and Jasiri watch a line of ants march past.]

Like every creature,

big and small

The Circle of Life should be

[Kito smirks. Kito and Jasiri look up at the sky.]

what's guiding us all

The Circle of Life

will guide us all

[Kito follows Jasiri, both dancing to the beat.]

Sisi ni sawa

means we're the same

[Jasiri looks at the spots on one of her shoulders.]

Kito:

Though you've got your spots

[Kito looks up to where her mane would be.]

and lions have a mane

[Kito and Jasiri approach the pool of water.]

Jasiri: At the end of the day,

it's like water and rain

Sisi ni sawa

we are the same

Kito and Jasiri: Sisi ni sawa

we are the same

[Kito and Jasiri tap their paws to the beat.]

Kito: Never thought that

we'd see eye to eye

[Jasiri looks down on Kito from where she is lying on a rock.]

Jasiri:

I can't imagine why

[Jasiri stands and hops off the rock.]

It's very easy if you try

Kito: Still to me,

[Jasiri bounds from rock to rock, and Kito follows her. She hops onto a rock.]

they're brand new thoughts

Not to judge

hyenas by their spots

[Jasiri approaches from below Kito.]

Jasiri: Sisi ni sawa

[Kito follows Jasiri, both bobbing their heads to the beat.]

Jasiri: Sisi ni sawa

means we're the same

[Jasiri turns around and walks backward so she can face Kito.]

Kito: Forget about the past

[Jasiri turns around and walks backward so she can face Kito.]

when there's nothing to gain

[Jasiri turns around and walks backward so she can face Kito.]

Jasiri and Kito:

At the end of the day

[Kito and Jasiri slide to the edge of the pool of water. They look at their reflections.]

it's like water and rain

[Jasiri hops onto Kito's head.]

Sisi ni sawa

[Kitoand Jasiri separate and go back to back.]

we are the same

[Jasiri follows Kito, both dancing to the beat.]

Sisi ni sawa

[Kito and Jasiri spring apart to face one another.]

means we're the same

Forget about the past

[Kito and Jasiri bound off in opposite directions.]

when there's nothing to gain

[Jasiri looks at her reflection in the pool of water.]

At the end of the day,

[A leaf disturbs the water, and Jasiri's reflection turns into Kito's.]

it's like water and rain

[Jasiri flicks water at Kito.]

Sisi ni sawa

we are the same

[Kito and Jasiri bound down the trail.] Sisi ni sawa

we are the same

[Kito and Jasiri pause.]

{Jasiri strides past Kito.]

Jasiri:

Sisi ni sawa

we are the same

[Music ends]

Jasiri:(Sniffing)

Kito: What's wrong?

Jasiri: We're in Janja's territory. And, believe it or not, we don't get along! (LAUGHS) Don't worry. Flat Ridge Rock is right over there. You're almost home.

Kito: Asante, Jasiri. Thanks for your help. [Kito leaves]

Jasiri: Sure. Bye, Kito!

Kito: [Kito looks down at Jasiri} Hey, Jasiri! If you ever need my help...

Jasiri: Help? From a lion? (Laughs) That's a good one!

Kito: Okay [Kito continues walking to the Pride Lands]

[Jasiri sees some rocks fall and backs away. Janja comes up to Jasiri]

Janja: (Snarling)

Jasiri: Janja!

Janja: Well, well. If it isn't Jasiri. Thought I told you to stay off our turf!

Jasiri: Just passing through. So move. Or do I have to move you myself?

Hyenas: (Laughing) [Cheezi and Chungu stand next to Janja]

Janja: Big talk, coming from someone who's all alone!

Jasiri: Okay, I'll take another path.

[More hyenas come and surround Jasiri]

(Hyenas growling)

Jasiri: So, you figured out that only three of you didn't stand a chance against me.

[The hyenas back Jasiri into a corner}

Janja: C'mon, boys .Let's remind Jasiri what happens to someone who wanders into our part of the Outlands!

Jasiri: (Off-screen) These all the hyenas you got, Janja?

Kito: [Kito turns around] Jasiri?

Cheezi: (Snarling) Me first! (Laughs) [Jasiri pins down Cheezi] (Grunts) (Groaning)

Jasiri: (Laughs) [Jasiri turns around] Who's next?

Chungu: (Snarling) [Jasiri pins down Chungu] (Screams)

Janja: (Grunts) [Janja jumps onto Jasiri] Enough playing around. (Growling) [Kito jumps down from a rock and attacks Janja] (Grunts)

Janja: (Groans) Kito?

Jasiri: What are you doing here?

Kito: I'm here to help.

[Jasiri and Kito face off agaisnt Janja's clan]

Jasiri: If you say so...But I got 'em right where I want 'em! (Blows) [Jasiri kicks a hyena]

Hyenas: (Yelping) (Grunting)

Kito : Yeah, I can tell. (Growling) (Grunts) (Grunting) [Kito knocks into hyenas)

Jasiri: [Jasiri sees two hyenas behind Kito] Kito! Behind you! [Jasiri knocks down the hyenas behind Kito]

Kito: Nice move, Jasiri.[Kito ducks Jasiri's head and bumps head with the other hyena]

Jasiri: Thanks. You're not so bad yourself. For a lion.

Hyena:(Snarling)

Kito: Uh-oh. Looks like we're cornered.

[The hyenas corner Jasiri and Kito]

[Hyenas laughing hysterically]

Kito: [Kito puts her paw in front of Jasiri] Jasiri, get behind me! Now!

Jasiri: What? Why?

Kito: Trust me.

Jasiri: Can't believe I'm trusting a lion. [Jasiri stands behind Kito]

Janja: Don't know why you're in the Outlands helpin' a hyena, Kito, But it's the last thing you're gonna do. (Laughs) Get 'em, boys!

Chungu: Got you now!

Cheezi: Yeah! (Laughs)

(Wind Whooshing)

[Jasiri looks at the clouds above her]

Kito:(Loud roars) [ Kito uses the Roar of the Elders at the hyenas]

[The rest of the Lion Guard hears Kito's roar and goes to her]

Bunga: Zuka Zama! Kito's in trouble!

Kito: (Continues roaring)

Hyenas: (Yelping and grunting)

[The hyenas are all seen on top of each other]

Janja: Uh. I hate that roar. (Yelps) [Kito stares at Janja] Come on, boys! (Yelping)

[The hyenas run away]

Jasiri: (Laughs) Look at 'em go! That was the funniest thing I've ever seen!

Jasiri and Kito:(Laughing)

Jasiri: Okay, that roar thing? That is definitely something we don't have in common.

Kito: I've seen you in action. You don't need a roar.

Jasiri: You know, I never thought a lion would help a hyena. [Jasiri bumps Kito]

Kito: Well, not all lions are alike.

[Jasiri smiles at Kito and the rest of the Lion Guard come to Kito]

Ono: He's over here!

Bunga: Kito!

[The rest of the Lion Guard sees Jasiri]

Fuli: (Growling)

Jasiri: (Growling)

Fuli: Back off, hyena!

(Both growling)

Kito: [Kito stands in front of Jasiri] Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Take it easy! She's a friend!

Fuli: She is?

Jasiri: I... I am? [Jasiri smiles and wags her tail]

Kito: Definitely.

Bunga[Bunga comes up to Kito and puts one hand on her head] But she's a hyena.

Kito: I know. But not all hyenas are like Janja. Some of them are good. She's one of them.

Fuli: Really?

Kito: She got me through the Outlands.

Jasiri: And she saved me from Janja and his clan.

Beshte: Well, any friend of Kito is a friend of ours.

[Ono nods]

Kito: You should have seen her take on Cheezi and Chungu. [Kito moves her paw] She was fierce.

Fuli: Huh. I like her already.

[The Lion Guard returns to the Pride Lands}

Bunga: Sure is nice having Kito lead us again. Even if he is walking behind us.

[Jasiri and Kito stand on top of Flat Ridge Rock]

Jasiri: Well, I better get back to my territory. I'm sure your roar doesn't scare off Janja forever.

Kito: [Kito rolls her eyes] (Chuckles) If only!

Jasiri: (Laughs) Bye, Kito. It's been fun.

Kito: Bye, Jasiri. Maybe I'll see you again sometime?

Jasiri: Not if I see you first! (Laughs)

[Jasiri goes back to the Outlands and Kito goes back with her friends]

Kito: Hey, guys! Wait for me!

A/n Hey everyone!!! I know it's been a while since I updated I've just had a lot on my plate but I'm hoping to start updating regularly!! Thank you for you patience and understanding ;)
