First match – Sasuke Uchiha vs Akado Yoroi

Naruko thought this match was ok, not too exciting but a descent opening match. Thought she did notice that Sasuke seemed to be struggling not with his opponent though but something else. 'Probably that Mark on his neck.' But the Uchiha pulled through and won.

The fights continued on some interesting and some not. Then her own fight came along.

Naruko Uzumaki vs Rock Lee

Naruko smiled, revenge was her's.

Kakashi hummed, as he looked at the match up then looked to his student, "Think you can take him?" he asked.

"I can at least try can't I." spoke Naruko as she held out a hand, "Now did you get what I asked for?" she asked.

Kakashi nodded and pulled out a rapier from his storage scroll. A day ago, the girl had come to him and asked for him to buy the weapon for her since she couldn't leave the tower. This was a surprise to the jonin and when he asked why the need for a weapon, she answered by stating that she and her teammates were woefully unprepared for the exams. It was only thanks to overlying factors that they survived plus a whole lot of luck.

While happy to see that she had grown somewhat he wasn't sure that she could use the weapon if she just got it but the girl said he shouldn't worry, and he decided to trust her and get her the weapon.

"I see." He said noting the look in her eyes. She was planning on winning but above that she was taking this as training, a way to improve herself. 'She might be ready.' He thought. If she gave a decent show, he might just ask for her advancement to chunin but he needed to see her growth first before that.

Naruko herself walked down the stairs, she noticed how out of it, Sakura was but understood, the kunoichi seemed to still be unable to come to terms with the life of a shinobi despite their disaster of a mission in wave, and the events of the forest. Although it was better than being dead.

Finally making it into the arena Naruko looked to the green clad shinobi.

"Yosh Naruko-chan we meet once more!" he started,

"Yes, but this won't be like our last meeting." Declared Naruko a cold smirk on her face. Rock Lee looked at her with a massive grin.

"Yes, that is the spirit Naruko-chan but know this you are no match for me, I shall win and head on to the 3rd stage of the exams." Said Lee boisterously. Naruko didn't answer she just took a ready stance, she let her side face Lee, and her sword pointing at his face.

Rock Lee did the same.

Then the match was announced to begin by Hayate.

Lee was the first to move he kicked off the ground and shot forward ready to end the match. Yes, he liked the girl's spirit, but she wasn't strong enough to fight him, he knew that from the small encounter he had with her when he fought Sasuke. The was no way she could have gotten strong enough to face him in just 6 days.

Arriving in front of her before she could react, he threw a kick, but suddenly ice bloomed around the girl forming spikes, Lee shocked by this, felt the danger he was in. Too late to dodge he shifted allowing himself to avoid serious wounds, but he did receive injuries. Ice pierced his right shoulder , left thigh and the other's grazed him in various spots.

Acting in the shock the boy was obviously feeling Naruko thrust out a hand and the ice changed shape and formed into a fist gripping Lee tightly. He groaned in pain. Then she moved her sword ready to place it on the teen's neck and declare her win. She deemed this to be the best revenge She could get, pull him through the shame and humiliation of a quick and swift defeat but that was noy to be as Lee screamed in exertion.

Almost immediately a green aura erupted from him shattering the ice and pushing Naruko back. Lee landed on the ground and leaped back to gain some distance and spoke. "First gate, Gate of opening. Open"

"I apologise Guy-sensei, I was careless and now I must disobey your orders." Said Lee more to his sensei as he needed to open the 1st of the 8 inner gates to free himself from the surprisingly sturdy ice.

"Lee my boy!" came a shout from the spectators stands. "Fight as your heart desires, let your flames of youth burn bright!" Shouted Guy. The jonin was surprised by the sudden turn of events but he couldn't let his student's fight end without him getting to show what he's got.

"Hai Guy-sensei!" Shouted Lee before he was forced to leap back as a spear of ice stabbed where he once stood. As he stumbled and fell over thanks to his wounds, he suddenly felt danger and rolled out of the way as another hale of spears pierced where he was.

"My you're certainly taking me lightly if you're willing to hold back even with those injuries." Said Naruko while noting the green aura around the boy. She waved had hand and spears of ice formed and flew forward to Lee. 'I can't let him do whatever his sensei told him to do, I'm curious but what type of fool let's his enemies go all out. If you have the chance to end your enemy before they can use all their abilities, it was best to take it.

This was the plan as she continued to launch spears of ice with one hand and the other readied her finisher.

Lee dodged and dodged unable to find a break in the relentless barrage of attacks and his accumulating injuries aren't help either along with strain of opening the first gate. So now he needed a few seconds to open the second gate and use that to create and opening to end the match, but the spears of ice were endless, and his stamina was dropping like a rock. Then he saw a shadow loom over him.

Looking he saw a boulder of ice floating above him, "huh?" his shock was to be expected but not to last as the attack started to fall.

Hagelsprung the attacks name rang out in the stunned silence.

Seeing it fall Lee knew that he couldn't escape, he shuffled his feet and pulled his fists back. Then shouted, " Second Gate: gate of healing open" "Third Gate: Gate of Life open!" as he opened the next two gates his skin turned red, hair stood on end and pupils disappeared. A powerful aura was around him radiating a powerful heat and wind around him. As the ice boulder reached striking range Lee punched upward. He ignored his pain, ignored his deep wound and blood loss, he even ignored the sound of his own muscles tearing apart. And his fist met with the attack in brilliant display of power he shattered the boulder into nothing but ice cubes.

Then as then before Lee could do anything else a blade pierced through his chest. Lee's gaze travelled behind him looking at Naruko and then down to the blade sticking near his heart. Then he started to fall.

'No no, I cannot let it end like this. I must fight, I must demonstrate my strength, that I can become a splendid a ninja as everyone else' these were the thoughts of Lee as he tipped forward his body betrayed his will, to broken to allow him to stand let alone fight but he couldn't give up. So, he forced himself and his vision faded to black, but his body stood not falling unwilling to accept the crushing defeat he was dealt.

"Impressive." Said Naruko a smile on her face as she noticed how Lee took a step forward to stop himself from falling despite his near fatal wound. She flicked the blood from her weapon and stood there looking at the unconscious boy. His determination to prove his worth was commendable but that alone could not overturn the reality.

Naruko sighed, Lee display captivated her and her minor respect for the boy rose by a lot a that is why, "stop." She said to the Guy who was near her ready to take Lee out of the battle. The man looked at her, "Do not disgrace him, I am his opponent, and I should be the one to put him down." She said to the man as she gentle put a hand on the boy's chest and back and slowly as to not agitate his injuries laid him down. Lee was more than a shinobi he was a warrior, so she'd deemed this an appropriate action to take.

"Proctor." She called.

"Rock Lee is unconscious, the winner is Naruko Uzumaki." Spoke Hayate. It was only then did she stand and allowed for Guy to look over his student.

"Thank you Naruko-chan, it would seem I was too hasty." Spoke the man lowly as he picked Lee up and rushed him to infirmary. The girl nodded and walked up the stairs to the stands after picking up sword.

She arrived next to her teammates to see Kakashi looking at her with a strange look in his visible eye. "Well, that was something." He spoke. Naruko was sure he didn't know how to react or speak so he just sighed and flashed her his eye smile. "Good work, you fought wonderfully." He said. These were his true thoughts, yes, he was confused by the powers the blond displayed, but the way she used them effectively against a superior opponent and came out without a scratch.

"You're not suspicious?" Asked Naruko.

"Figured you'll tell me when the time's right. It's an unwritten rule not to ask about another person's move set in our type of business." Said Kakashi with a shrug. Yes, he was suspicious and curious, but he knew that he has no right to ask about another's skill set.

"I see." Said Naruko.

The rest of the matches flew by and Naruko took note of a few fighters and tried to come up with ways to defeat them should she face them in the finals. Using Esdeath's vast combat memory she started coming up with strategies.

She was surprised at Ino's victory over Sakura considering the 2's nigh equal abilities, but battle was also about mental strength and Sakura at the moment was not in her right mind so she lost.

Then the matches finished and the time for a final draw came, and the matches were decided.

1st match

Naruko Uzumaki Vs Neji Hyuuga

2nd Match

Kankuro Vs Shino Abarame

3rd match

Shikamaru Nara Vs Temari

4th match

Sasuke Uchiha Vs Gaara

And Ino Yamanaka will fight the winner of the first match.

After the line-up was decided the teams were led out the tower and the dangerous forest but Naruko found herself inside her apartment and she slumped down on her bed tiredness catching up with her. Using Hagelsprung drained much of her internal energy stores, and since her chakra seems out of control, she could not recover like she normally would.

.oOo. Next morning

Going through her morning rituals Naruko was just finishing up cleaning after having breakfast when a knock at the door caught her attention. She walked to said door and opened it looking down at her with a smile was Kakashi.

"Good morning Naruko-chan." He greeted and Naruko nodded.

"Yeah, good morning sensei, what are you doing here?" asked Naruko.

"Well, I've been asked to get you. The Hokage wishes to speak to you." Said Kakashi,

"About my newfound abilities I presume?" asked the teen and Kakashi nodded in agreement. "Isnt that against common courtesy?" asked Naruko confused, she remembered what the man said yesterday, although she already had an explanation ready for the Oldman.

"Yes, but you see the Hokage requires a basic understanding of his soldier's strengths as to be able to assign proper personal to the appropriate missions." Explained the man. Naruko understood this the tilt of Kage was an equivalent to the general title in the empire.

"I understand," she replied before getting out the house leaving a clone to finish up her chores. Then they walked off heading to the tower of the Hokage.

.oOo. Hokage Tower .oOo.

"Ah Naruko-chan I see you've arrived." Said the hokage as he

"Ah Naruko-chan I see you've arrived." Said the hokage as he looked to the two entering Shinobi. He'd seen Kakashi earlier in the morning since the man had come to make a report about a spy in the village.

"Yes Lord Hokage." Spoke the blond formally.

"Lord Hokage?" he asked confused.

"Yes, during the exam I realised that separating my job and my personal life is valuable skill I'll need moving forward. I mean I am going to be taking that hat from you, so why not start gathering experience and training now. Hence the formality." Said Naruko and Hiruzen hummed.

"I see, it's good to see you starting to mature but I'm sure you know why I called you here, right?" asked the old man and Naruko nodded before formaing a smoking pipe of ice. "Yes that, now how did it happen?" asked Hiruzen.

Naruko explained the events that she could remember within the forest before blacking out when she was hit on the stomach by a Kunoichi who used snakes to fight, "When I woke up I felt somewhat off and could use these abilities but my chakra felt off, I mean I can't even form as many shadow clones as I could before." She finished.

"Hmm, curious." Muttered Hiruzen. "Naruko please pull up your shirt and channel your chakra." Ordered the old man and Naruko did as told lifting up her shirt and then channelling her chakra. The markings form, first the seal of the Kyuubi, then moments after that another set of seals formed around the seal. While these seemed just as intricate and complex, they also seemed to be out of place. Hiruzen's eyes widened then he stood while speaking. "Kakashi please hold Naruko-chan. This is going to hurt a little, please bear with it." Said Hiruzen and Naruko looked at then old man.

"You're not going to do anything unbecoming right?" she asked while taking note of Kakashi holding her shoulders.

"No!" shouted Hiruzen after a short moment of silence with a blush of embarrassment on his face, while Kakashi cleared his throat.

Then he went through a few hand seals, before his fingers lit up in blue flame kanji written on them. He thrust forward and his hand plunged into her stomach and twisted, five elemental seal release

Naruko felt herself skirting back despite Kakashi's hold on her, a testament to the 3rd's strength. Then coming to a stop, she felt the chakra that seemed to be locked away from her and messed up somehow back to normal and accessible to her.

Then she exploded.

Contemplating removing sakura from the story. Not sure yet.
