For the next few weeks finding Othonos and King became the main focus of ours.
Apparently King and Othonos pissed off the wrong people. We were all growing more and more angry, and disgusted with these men and their group of supporters, as we uncovered more and more of their dirty dealings.
We thought what they did to us was beyond disgusting, but it was far worse than we thought. Rose couldn't stomach it. I could hardly do so, either.
But I knew I had to keep going, to keep Alex and Sophie safe along with all the other kids in this world.
Then we found the reason as to why the Bratva was so desperate to get their hands on them.
King kidnapped, drugged, and violated two of the Bratva's princesses and sons. Not only that but overdosed them and sent them home in black body bags. Othonos helped by providing the drugs, money, and place to keep those poor kids.
Of course, Edward was quick to accept the help Stephan and Vladimir offered to help catch those rats, but only if they allowed Rose and I to be the ones to end their lives.
So, it was settled. A newly formed alliance between Nest and Cosa Nostra, and the Bratva was formed with all willing to help after finding out that these bastards had had a hand in all of the kidnappings of young girls and boys in their countries.
Which caused the time to countdown to finding and exterminating them to begin ticking.
A week after the search began again, and we finally managed to pinpoint a general location to the rats, and it just so happened that they were hiding out on the property of one of our allies.
Unbeknownst to them.
It worked out perfectly, since that specific place was used for all the bosses, capos, underbosses, consigliere, and skips met two days out of each month.
This upcoming weekend was that day.
We were finally going to finish what we started all those months ago.
"Are you sure this is going to work, vita mia?" Edward asked me, anxiously as he held Sophie to his chest securely. (my life)
I nodded, "Yes, we've gone over all the possible scenarios. Flushed out and exterminated the rest of their filth and had the teams set up. All we have to do is corner them." I informed him.
He sighed, "I know. I just don't like the idea of leaving our gemelli here without us. It gives me anxiety." He told me. (Twins)
I sighed, "If it makes that uncomfortable to leave them here, then why don't you stay with them? That way you can make sure that nothing bad will happen to our παιδιά." I told him. (children)
"What? And leave my life unprotected? Absolutely not." He said.
I snickered, "I hear your μητέρα is deadly with her knitting needles, and bitter knife. You've got nothing to worry about, έρωτά μου." I reassured him. (Mother/ My love.)
He sighed, "I know, and that doesn't make me feel any better." He grumbled, before mumbling in Italian about how this was all Othonos fault.
I smiled, "Think about this then, the faster we send the asshole to help, the faster we can move on." I told him.
A gleam caused his eyes to practically glow as he stared at me. "Move on, eh? And how do you suppose that is going to happen?" He retorted.
I shrugged, as I stared down at Alex, to check to see if he was done feeding only to realize he was fully out, yet still feeding.
I sighed and unlatched him before shifting him in my arms and parting his back.
"Here, you feel our bella piccola principessa, and I'll burp our angioletto." He told me. (Beautiful little princess, little angel.)
I laughed, "She ate before him. What she probably needs is a diaper change, eh? Principessa?" I cooed, smiling widely as I slowly got to my feet and made my way to to the changing table.
"Quick question, how are we going to do this? We've slept maybe three, four hours in the last week." He pointed out.
"Your μητέρα and πατέρας have both offered to watch the twins for the next few days. I've already agreed." I informed him. (mother and father)
"Of course, you did." He replied flatly.
"I did. I've already shown them the twins' nightly routine, where the frozen milk is, and how often they feed." I replied as I finished changing Sophie's diaper and onesie.
He chuckled and shook his head at me, "Do you think they'll have it easier than us?" He asked.
I snorted, "Is that a serious question, έρωτά μου?" (my love)
He rolled his eyes at me before nodding.
I sighed as I pulled Sophie back intoy arms before turning to look at him, amused. "They raised you and your brothers. This is-- uh, cake?" I asked, frowning.
He nodded amused, "That's the correct term, yes." He replied.
"Yeah. Qu'ils mangent du gâteau." I told him amused. (Let them eat cake.)
"You do realize that there is no evidence that Marie Annetoinette said that phrase? It is a bunch of lies people said to--" He began.
"We are not going to argue about that again." I cut off, causing him to narrow his eyes at me. "I was talking about your parents either way. You know, piece of cake?" I questioned.
He rolled his eyes at me, "You've been all over the world yet the inaccuracies of history is what you remember…." He scoffed.
"I've been all over the world, working. I've never had time to be a tourist, or go sightseeing, that is why I wanted a normal life. A family. To be able to do that." I told him, as I blinked hard, as I set Sophie down in her crib.
Taking in a shaky breath as I stared down at her.
"Of course, there is nothing wrong with that, and when this is all over I am going to make you my wife, and we will travel for as long as you like." He promised.
I scoffed, "I never said I wanted to get married… We both know that I am not ready for that." I told him.
He laughed and shook his head as he went to change Alex before taking him to his crib.
"You'll never know if you don't do it." He replied before walking out of the room.
"Bastardo compiaciuto." I grumbled as I madey way to my room to shower. (Smug bastard.)
A Few Days Later:
I stood in the middle of the room, staring at myself in the mirror.
Alice and Rose had shown up with Mags and helped me get ready for the apparent occasion.
She bought me a body shaper, which was backless, and had a deep plunge in the front causing my already engorged breasts to look bigger than they already were. My ass and hips look amazing rather than huge, and my legs look shapely.
She then forced me into a black, backless dress with a high slit, and a pair of matching stiletto heels.
She finally perfected her makeup skill, and was able to cover the stretch marks, tattoos, and any other blemishes on our bodies, before touching up the makeup on my face.
By the time she finished I looked like the old me, before we left the states almost a year ago.
"You look amazing Be, well, you always have but those larger tits suit you oh so well." Rose teased, smiling as Alice sprayed her with perfume and her golden hair with hairspray.
"You look amazing." Alice repeated as I finished putting my jewelry. "Those the ones Tia gave you?" She asked.
I nodded, before sliding on the large ring I've been trying to avoid putting on.
"Why don't you wear it?" Rose asked, as she rotated her shoulder and frowned.
"It's… It's too big… I don't like the attention it calls to me when I go out… So I got a smaller version of it and wear that." I informed them.
They exchanged looks and snickered, before Rose looked at me, "Does Edward know you've done that? Because if he finds out… he's going to get butt hurt." She told me.
I sighed, "He does. He got it made because he knew I would feel uncomfortable, but… he knows that the ring is meaningless to me. We'll only get married if and when he proposes with meaning." I told them.
They exchanged looks. "Wait, so, how did he propose this time?" Rose asked.
"While I was breastfeeding, covered in vomit. He told me I looked beautiful." I told th with a sigh.
They frowned, "Bella, you realize that by him telling you this that he is always going to see you beautiful. Right? That man only has eyes for you." Alice said as she looked down at the pink sapphire ring on her hand.
I frowned, "I haven't felt beautiful since before I had the kids… I've felt out of sorts." I whispered.
"Well, don't. Because you have always been beautiful even now after carrying two babies." Rose told me.
"Thank you ladies, it means a lot to me." I told them.
"We're there for you babe." Alice replied with a wink.
I let out a shaky laugh and shook my head, "Let's go get those bastards and make sure they don't hurt anyone else." I told them.
"Let's go." Rose replied, as she straightened to her full height and stepped into her shoes.
"You look gorgeous in that dress… I can't wait to peel it off of you when we get home in a few hours." He whispers to me, as we sit in the SUV waiting for everyone else to come out of the house.
"Thank you." I replied, quietly, as I moved one of the stray pieces of hair behind my ear.
Without another word he wrapped an arm around my shoulders before leaning over and kissing my bare shoulder.
"We'll be okay, vita mia." He told me.
"Do you suppose they'll be angry that we--?" I asked before trailing off as everyone started coming out.
"No… but they will find out eventually." He replied quietly.
"Let's hope eventually isn't too soon." I grumbled as he laughed.
The night was calm.
Everything seemed to be planned out, and executed accordingly, until I excused myself to use the bathroom.
I slowly made my way down the hall, heading back towards the dining room. I was roughly yanked into a room, causing me to gasp.
Until I saw the person who did it.
Standing right before me, was the last man I wanted to see. Yannis Othonos.
"Sparrow, we meet once more." He sneers as he tightens his grip on my arm
