A/N: After finally watching the first 6 Fast and Furious movies, I think I have enough knowledge to call myself a fan and have decided to take on the epic project. Besides KP, the other cartoon franchises included in this saga are: Jackie Chan Adventures, Danny Phantom, Ben 10, Jimmy Neutron, American Dragon Jake Long, The PowerPuff Girls, and Lilo and Stitch.
This first installment takes place after 'Motor Ed' and 'Car Trouble'.
Enjoy!
The desert highway was empty except for a single semi-truck. The sun was setting and most people were headed home, going the opposite way of the large vehicle. The truck driver was unperturbed. He was used to quiet roadways especially on this run. It was one he made frequently and very little changed about it. The first sign that something was going to be different was the sudden appearance of three small cars. Dark and fast, they gained on the truck. The driver saw them and scooted into the right lane, giving the cars plenty of room to pass. It looked like they were going to go on their way, that is until two of the cars took places around the truck, one in the front and one hugging the left side. The third car circled around the back of the large vehicle and came up the shoulder of the highway before starting to herd the truck toward the middle of the highway by aggressively getting closer to the side, forcing the truck driver to get out of the way. When the truck was where the Honda Civics wanted it, all hell broke loose.
Like a coordinated dance, the Honda in front braked and the two on the side slowed down as well, keeping the truck in their cage as the sun roof on the front car opened. A figure in a motorcycle helmet and clad in black popped out of the hole with something that looked like a gun in his hands. The truck driver, now panicked, braked even harder and started swerving slightly, testing the boundaries of what the Civic drivers were going to do and trying to break free. The cars, however, professional and experienced, didn't give any ground and kept the heavy goods vehicle in their trap. A pop and the sound of shattering glass announced the grappling hook that the figure shot into the truck, breaking the passenger side pane of windshield and removing it before quickly firing a second hook that buried itself deeply into the seat next to the driver. Tying off the rope attached to the hook to himself, the man wearing the helmet jumped from up on the roof of the car and then onto the hood of the truck, his gloves giving him grip as he climbed his way into the vehicle through the now open window. The truck driver shouted unintelligibly at him before pulling a baseball bat out from under the seat and starting to swing it one handed at the hijacker in the confined space while also trying to keep his truck on the road.
After taking a few, shallow hits that did very little damage, the man grabbed the bat and a short grapple ensued as the two men fought over the ineffective weapon. Jerking it out of the truck driver's hand, the hijacker quickly tossed it out of the window before pulling a small silver gun out of its holster and quickly firing a dart into the other man's arm. It didn't take long for the tranquilizer to take effect and the truck driver nodded at the wheel, fighting to keep his eyes open to no avail. The hijacker took control of the truck after he shifted the unconscious man out of the way. Taking his helmet off, he shook out his blond hair, styled in an old school mullet before picking up his walkie talkie.
"Alright, boys, the truck is ours. Let's get 'er home. Seriously, let's do this!" he hit the gas pedal and the group of vehicles moved on, a loud whooping from the successful hijackers fading in the wind. He then did a air guitar solo before steering the truck.
The front door of the nice Middleton house where the Possible family took residence burst open as Kim Possible and her best friend Ron Stoppable arrived home from school, unusually excited and loud as they went through the living getting protests from the twins Kim affectionately called the Tweebs as their noise blocked the sound from the TV. The two friends moved on quickly, looking for Kim parents to share their excitement with. Tossing their bags down on the kitchen table, they chattered energetically at each other as they waited for Mr. Possible to notice them, not that he hadn't known they were there since they walked in the house. Kim was wearing her yellow shirt with a blue star and blue pants.
"Whoa there, Kimmie Cub, what's the fuss?" Kim's dad looked from his newspaper at the kitchen table, his deep, male voice stern though his eyes betrayed that he was a caring father and only teasing.
"I did it! I did it! I passed! Oh, I can't believe I passed!" Kim was too thrilled to make sense as she did a little dance around the table.
"I didn't know you had a test today," Kim's mom entered the kitchen setting down her things from work and giving her husband a kiss on the cheek.
"Oh yeah! It was the test to end all tests! The most important test of our lives and Kim passed with flying colors!" Ron, familiar with everything in his best friend's house, took a seat at the table and proudly watched Kim as she continued her jumping around.
Kim's father set down his paper and smiled, "Well, don't leave us guessing, what test was it? Chemistry? Algebra? History? Don't tell me it was Latin."
Kim finally stopped and flopped into a chair, trying to catch her breath and pushing her long red-orange hair out of her face, "No, none of those. I finally got my Driver's License! Mr. Barkin passed me!"
Mr. and Mrs. Possible shared a look of concern before smiling at their daughter. Mr. Possible spoke first, "Hey! That's great Kimmie Cub, we're so proud of you! That's a really big step. Before you know it you'll be at a job, making money, with your own home!"
"Don't get ahead of yourself Dad, there's still a long time before any of that. I still need to graduate from high school. Also, what was that look you and Mom shared? That 'Kim isn't ready to drive' look," Kim's eyes narrowed at her parents suspiciously.
"Oh no, Honey, that wasn't the look at all," Kim's mother put her hand on her daughter's, "It was more of a 'Can't believe our little girl is growing up so fast' look."
Kim groaned and laid her head on her arms on the table, "Mo-om, I'm not a little girl. I'm a teenager and teenagers drive. C'mon, it's no big deal."
Ron placed a supportive hand on her back, "Yeah, Mrs. Dr. P, it's not gonna change anything. We'll still be going to school and to cheer practice and-"
Rufus stuck his head out of Ron's cargo pants pocket to finish Ron's list in his cute way of communicating, "Nacho."
"Yeah, Rufus, and Bueno Nacho!" Ron's enthusiasm was infectious as always and Kim already felt better.
She picked up her head to join in the conversation, "Yeah, and missions too. I won't have to call in favors anymore to get around. But first, I actually need a car."
"Kim, your mother and I will have to discuss that before you use your license to go on certain very far away missions. As for a car, you know the rules, you have to work for your vehicle and earn the money, you want to drive, show us you're responsible enough to do so," Kim's dad was stern again, his face stopping Kim's argument and puppy pout in their tracks.
"Alright, Dad, I understand," Kim sighed and Ron looked at her sympathetically. They finished up their conversation, including putting in their opinions on what dinner should be, before Ron and Kim gathered their school stuff and headed up to Kim's room to work on some homework. They took their usual places and got to work.
Kim had just gotten started on her science assignment when her communicator sounded it's distinctive ringtone, the four beeps had her immediately pulling the palm sized blue device out of her pocket. She hit a button and when the screen pulled up, she answered with her usual, "What's the sitch, Wade?"
"Hey, Kim," Wade, their computer-wizard and geeky friend, showed up on the display. He was cheerfully sitting at his desk as always and kept track of Kim's missions and people who needed her and Ron. "I found some reports of some hijackings that have been happening in the L.A. area of California. Trucks carrying electronics have been going missing after being trapped by three black Honda Civic Coupes."
"Nice," Ron interrupted, "those are nice cars."
"Uh huh. Nice." Rufus squeaked with agreement.
Kim gave them a look and Wade continued, "They are. And all of the evidence I've found so far seems to point to Motor Ed being back. However, the items being stolen aren't car parts so it's possible that he's teamed up with someone new."
"Yeah and L.A. isn't his usual stomping ground either. That's about as far from New Jersey as you can get," Kim added.
"Yeah, and there's something else. I got all this information from the local police. They want to team up with you, Kim, since we've dealt with Motor Ed before."
"I've worked with the police before, so no big," she shrugged with a smile.
"Well… Not like this… They want you to go undercover and partner with a cop they already have in the field. He works at a local car parts shop and apparently has made connections and has a couple suspects already for whoever is working with Motor Ed to pull off these heists," Wade was typing quickly as he pulled up more information and sent it to Kim's printer, "here's what they sent me and a couple extra things I, uh, found for myself."
Kim gave him a teasingly stern look, "Hacking into the police, Wade? Aren't they on our side?"
"Hey, they weren't telling the whole story. I had to do something, I'm not sending my best friends into a situation like that without as many pieces of the puzzle as possible," Wade grinned sheepishly and Kim smiled back, "Besides, they had some juicy info, I couldn't help myself. It should all be printed for you by now."
"It is. Thanks Wade. Ron and I will take a look and I guess head out to Los Angeles," she smiled as she grabbed the papers off of the printer and took them over to Ron.
"Sounds good. Also, Kim, your tickets are also taken care of, they should be in that packet. You'll both leave tomorrow after school. Oh, and I took care of Barkin for you both, so you two are allowed to miss class until you return. See ya." Wade winked and the connection cut off.
"Whoo! L.A.! California, here we come! This is gonna be an awesome mission!" Ron's fist pumped the air as he spun a few circles in the desk chair he was sitting in before he tried to high-five Rufus, failing from how dizzy he was from the chair spinning. Kim rolled her eyes briefly at that before reading over the documents, looking over the logistics and skimming over the suspects that weren't Motor Ed, making a mental note to read over them more in depth later.
"Hector...Johnny Tran..." Kim muttered to herself before spotting a picture of the undercover cop they were assigned to work with. "Brian O'Conner..."
"Who?" Ron asked as he got back up.
"He's the cop we're gonna work with when we go undercover." Kim said as she took a look at the picture. "He looks like a nice guy. After all, he's part of the police."
"KP, there's no way he's a cop!" Ron exclaimed. "The dude has a face, hair, and style of a racer driver!"
Rufus smiled as he put on a race car driver's helmet. "Vroom!" Rufus squeaked and laughed to himself.
"Ron..." Kim said, giving her friend a look. "The profile Wade gave us doesn't really depict Brian as a NASCAR driver."
"You see? Just like with cooking and Camp Wananweep, this is where you know so little about the world my best hero friend." Ron smirked. "There's not just NASCAR or the Indy 500. There's street racing!"
"Street racing?" Kim asked with a confused look.
"It's the hottest thing right now!" Ron smiled. "On the streets of any big city, the coolest 10 second cars line up for a seriously fast 10 second race to make some serious 10 second money! Oh, and there's also...the ladies..." Kim rolled her eyes as Ron grinned at the ladies part.
"Yeah...but is it legal?" Kim asked with a smirk and arched eyebrow.
"Uh, no." Ron smiled sheepishly. "But no one's died from it yet. At least that's what the forums said online. The point is, this Brian dude is a total street racer."
"I hate to doubt you Ron, but if he really is a street racer, what kind of car would he drive?" Kim asked with a grin.
In the next chapter, you'll get to know Brian O'Conner as he investigates Dom Toretto and his family.
