Rachel was slowly making more noise in the public face of her job as the first child and now that meant that she was going to get recognized. She knew this. She had agreed to this when she made getting every child a christmas meal her mission, but it was still strange to for people to walk up to her and ask her for autographs.

Even more strange was that she now had a fully booked schedule of events that really meant that she and Tex didn't get a lot of alone time. She was interviewing people or being interviewed. She had photoshoots. Not all of it was glamorous. Sometimes, it was a lot of emails that had to be sent back and forth with a lot of people's interaction on what those emails should say.

And she didn't exactly have a team, but here at the White House, there was a team to help her do the things she planned on doing. Still, it was stressful and Tex could see it on her face.

When she had a moment free in her schedule, he grabbed it, taking her out to a car and getting in the front seat. This was normal for him. Whenever they drove somewhere, just the two of them, he was always the driver, but at the White House, they were rarely driving anywhere, just the two of them. In fact, even if it was just the two of them, they usually had a driver at the White House.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

He shook his head. "You'll see," He promised. "Just relax. Unwind. I know you've been busy. We're just going to try and get you unbusy for a little bit,"

She didn't know what that looked like, but she trusted Tex. So she put her phone down and closed her eyes and gave in to the mystery of where they were going.

Tex liked that she put her phone down. He hadn't asked her to do that, but it was probably a good thing for her. Even better would be tossing it out the nearest window, but she wouldn't like that very much. She was very much about the phone being an important part of life. He didn't care that much.

It took a while to get where they were going, but she seemed content to just relax there with her eyes closed and her phone down. She looked serene like that. Like something out of a whimsical painting. He wished for that to go on forever for her, but unfortunately he knew it wouldn't last.

When he stopped the car, she jolted back up. Honestly, impressive to see her go from serene to alert in basically no time flat, but not in a good way. She looked out the window and it was and it was just a big open field. There was no one here. There were some lights. It looked like maybe it was a kids' sports field during the other seasons of the year, but with it covered in snow, it wouldn't do much good to play on.

"Where are we?" She asked him again.

He chuckled. "We're nowhere. I thought we'd have some good ol' Christmas fun, by having some snowball fights, and making snow angels, and snowmen. You know, just normal stuff. Get away from all the glitz and the glamor."

She looked so stunned and almost ready to cry. She wasn't sure why this was so sweet, but it was. He'd thought of everything. They went fairly late at night, where people would be less likely to see. And she would have fewer events. And it was also a time when she desperately wanted to wind down with the people that she loved. And this was just the whole thing. She got out of the car and chucked her phone in the seat, before closing the door on it and racing into the middle of the field.

Tex shut the door of the car and put the key in his pocket and raced after her. He loved racing after her. Hell, he loved her. He wasn't quite sure how they got here, but they did. He loved her.

She was making a snow angel and he sat down right next to her and made one too. It made him feel like a kid again. He didn't exactly get to do this as a kid in Reno, Nevada, but he could understand why a kid's first instinct was to lay in the snow and make angels. It was fun in a way that only kids usually knew how to have fun.

She got up to inspect hers and smiled. "Yep, that's a good angel," She said as she looked at him. She wasn't even looking at the imprint in the snow when she said it and he noticed. But she could have been saying it about the imprint in the snow too. He colored a little, still. But that could have just been from the cold.

She bent down to give him her hands to haul him up and he used the force to bring her down. She laughed as she landed on top of him. "Isn't this nice?" He asked.

She nodded. "Yeah, but come on, snowmen aren't going to make themselves," She said as she tried very hard not to disturb either of their prints in the snow. They were making fun memories, without a care in the world. They didn't even notice the person with the camera taking pictures of them as they kissed chastely.

Everyone was obsessed with their pictures, but now, all Rachel and Tex saw was the snow. The snow everywhere that they could have snowball fights with and make snowmen with. It was their time to spend together. They didn't have to worry about silly things like meetings or cameras. They'd worry about all that another time.

The only thing Rachel worried about currently was getting snow in her hair. Which Tex definitely attempted once or twice. Still, she wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.
