Izuku Midoriya arrived back to his home in with Himiko Toga beside him.
The girl was now sporting green hair which was now twin braids and she, despite her partial disguise, was hugging the boy's arm tightly as if her hero was going to disappear
"Easy on the grip there" the soul student grunted "you're holding onto a bit much"
"I can't help it..." she huffed slightly "you're actually the first person treating me normally" then her reddened face got more noticeable "and it's actually weird that I should ignore my hero after telling my secrets earlier"
Izuku sighed a bit but won't argue against her...he won't deny that the disguised girl's past was more tragic than his.
After all, he still had his family and they tried supporting his life in whatever way they can. Himiko on the other hand was abandoned after finally getting what she needed on her condition due to the quirk she carried
'Where was her hero then?' he balled his hands tightly 'the civilians didn't care since they won't help Toga's problem' and then gnashed his teeth a bit 'I hope uncle Mark can help her like I did'
"Midoriya?" Himiko's voice got the boy's attention "are you okay...?"
"Sorry Toga" the soul student sighed a bit "my anger was delayed due to my focus on saving you first"
"That's okay" she giggled "I'm actually glad that I told you" and leaned onto his shoulder feeling much better "it feels like the weight on my shoulder's are gone"
Izuku looked at her quietly before using his free arm and grasped her hand
"It may be me who saved you, but I can't be the only hero you like" he said trying not to sound insensitive "and who knows...the world will see you join me in the fight against other villains"
'Now there's an idea' Himiko thought 'being with my hero' a small smile formed on her face '...helping people'
The two reached Izuku's home with Himiko feeling a bit nervous right now
"Midoriya" she gulped "are you sure this will be okay?"
"Don't worry Toga" he assured "I did make the call earlier, you'll just have to meet them first and it will be okay"
The boy opened the door to reveal his mother and uncle, the latter in uniform, sitting by the couch expecting his voice
"I'm home" he called "and I brought my friend with me"
Himiko hugged his arm tightly feeling both anxious and determined
The mother quickly ran to her baby and muffled her crying as to not bother the guest and Necrom stayed quiet letting his sister-in-law get her feelings out
Izuku patted Himiko's arm to be let go as he gave his mom a tight hug assuring her that he's okay after the news of him facing against Stain in Hosu
"I can't believe that you faced against the hero killer Izuku" Necrom rubbed his eyes "you're first internship and "
"I know uncle" he sighed "I couldn't believe it myself...but I was able to save my classmate from losing his life"
"Ah yes" the man hummed "the new Ingenium" and shook his head "I hope that he properly sees the error of his ways"
"I'm sure he will learn" the soul student nodded "I did witness him regretting the choice after surviving that night"
The three then turned to Himiko Toga who decided to reveal her true appearance making Inko jump back in fright to which Izuku stayed by her side and make the woman feel safe, Necrom blinked at seeing the young villain in sight
"So you confronted her on the way back?" the controversial hero questioned
"I did" the green haired boy nodded "apparently Stain helped her unknowingly that her quirk isn't a mistake"
"Ah..." Necrom nodded before looking at the girl again "you have been abandoned by society because of how scary it is"
"How did-?" she blinked in surprise
"I saw people giving up on their lives because of quirks" he hummed "it took me time and effort to save them" a laugh escaped his lips "I had to teach other pros to... observe when stopping a conflict"
Himiko felt relieved that her hero was able find a pro-hero that understood her situation and her red blush just got more pronounced and had to turn away
"Is something wrong with her?" Necrom questioned with Inko feeling a little worried
"Oh she's just feeling overwhelmed" Izuku replied rubbing the girl's back to soothe her "she's been on her own for a long time and hasn't felt proper care"
The mother quickly responded by taking Himiko to a table and have get a nice dinner ready surprising the girl at seeing someone readily helping her
The controversial hero smiled and patted his nephew's shoulder lightly "you better be ready when you get to school tomorrow" he whispered "the people will want to congratulate you for what happened in Hosu"
"Right, I forgot about that" Izuku covered one of his eyes 'the downside of going public is being distracted by them' before walking to eat dinner "I'll work on handling that on my way to school uncle"
Necrom smiled at his relative and couldn't feel any more proud of him 'you will be a great hero' before shaking his head 'you carry All Might's ideal while using my methods to help' and followed him to the table 'others will appreciate and envy you'
Dinner was finished and Himiko was escorted to the bathroom by Inko to help the girl on feeling more relief after being saved from the streets to which the girl still couldn't fathom due to her struggle in living a bad life
Leaving Necrom and Izuku in the living room to... discuss about Himiko's condition
"So you stopped her from being a villain just by talking to her?" he blinked
"With how the world always acting against bad situations" the boy hummed "I realized upon my late bloomer effect, there are other options to help people"
"It's a good thing you are observant nephew" the controversial hero scratched his head "otherwise that girl will stay villainous for a good while before being saved"
"I'd put that on being lucky" the soul student chuckled sheepishly
"Either way, you saved a life Izuku" Necrom ruffled his nephew's hair "and that's what heroes should do"
At bedtime Inko offered her bed for Himiko to sleep in for the night but the girl said she'd want to be with Izuku during her sleep as assurance that her life truly changed now
The mother was in a bit of panic but calmed down by her son and spoke that he was raised properly by her with Necrom stating that he will come by tomorrow for breakfast to pick the girl up and discuss with someone about a villain reformation program much to the woman's relief
Leading to right now in Izuku's bedroom
The boy was at his desk writing things in his notebook with his guest sitting on his bed
"Deku..." Himiko spoke feeling a bit nervous "do you think there is a chance the world to really forgive me?"
The boy sighed as he closed his notebook "I'll be honest with you Toga, that could be downright impossible" he stated making her flinch "but that's why I saved you" his head turned to the girl "people easily believe that heroes do everything for them"
Izuku stood from his chair and walked toward her "but said people get really busy most of the time and most forgot that even civilians can help us keep the world safe if they tried as well"
He placed his hand on her cheek giving the girl a warm touch making her feel relief again and she looked at his smiling face
"I want the world to hear that statement" he said "and to do that, I have to give my all and show my " Izuku's eyes carry determination "villains may be bad people, but that doesn't mean they are bad from the start"
"Like me?" Himiko felt her eyes tear up that her hero was trying hard to soothe her worries
"Yes Toga" Izuku kneeled down and clasped her hands "you're a villain because the world didn't try hard on helping you" and gave her assurance "but that will change now"
Himiko broke into tears feeling safer and the drowsiness took over with his voice helping her get good dreams
"Get your sleep Toga...you deserve your rest" his words were the last thing she heard before being slowly laid down on the bed
When the girl slept, Izuku was back at his table and summoned his eyecons for a personal conversation
"You've come from quite a struggle young man" Himiko commented
"No joke" Musashi followed "you fought a serial killer and saved someone from being just as destructive"
"A risk that will cost my life" he sighed "but that is always the price to saving someone from danger"
"You have once again proven your strength young one" Benkei hummed "All Might would be happy to see that with his own eyes"
"Although" Robin Hood interjected "just like that 10,000,000 point headband back in the sports festival... you'll be a target by everyone thanks to that achievement"
"Not to mention you have been seen by everyone in the media" Edison added "meaning villains will actually see you as an obstacle to their selfish goal"
"Oh don't be so negative" Ryoma hummed "the boy will make a change to society with his meddle" before a laugh followed "after all...heroes tend to make things more than intended in their work"
"That's true..." Billy agreed "hopefully you can handle the pressure Izuku"
"You still have future to make" Beethoven noted "make sure your voice can be heard in all this"
"Thanks guys" the soul student finally yawned "better get to bed and mentally prepare myself for that in the morning"
"Goodnight Izuku" they said
When the boy got into bed, he was wrapped in the arms of Himiko and saw her smiling a bit signaling that she felt safer with him right now
'Can't complain here' he adjusted a bit to make sure that he won't scream on waking up tomorrow '
What the boy didn't realize was that in his body was One For All's power boosting his own quirk again
As if... the quirk is gifting him something for the future
Morning came, Izuku groaned feeling himself wake up. But his body was having trouble moving out of bed as if it was entrapped by something
'Huh?' he heard a groaned from behind and remembered yesterday 'oh yeah...Himiko felt safe with me for the night'
The boy turned around and freed one of his arms and patted the girl's head
"Toga" he spoke making her groan a bit "wake up, it's a new day now"
She opened her eyes to see Izuku's smiling face and felt relief
"Morning" Himiko greeted
"Now that we're awake, would you like some breakfast?" he asked
"That'd be nice" she smiled a bit "I am feeling hungry"
The two of them went toward the dining table and the girl sat down
"You know Toga I didn't bring out this topic before since you are adjusting to me and the people I trust" Izuku hummed "but now that you have...It's safe for me to bring it up now"
"What's that?" Himiko blinked
"You're first name..." he stated "I'd like to change that"
Himiko blinked in surprise at that, but she was secretly glad that her hero said that. She hated her name very much because it reminded her of how she was being controlled rather than expressing herself truthfully
But before she could agree to that...she just had to ask the question
"Any reason why you want my name changed?" the girl hummed
Izuku used his soul quirk and summoned the same eyecon he gave to her n the first meeting and placed it on the table
"Ther eyecon I gave you on our first encounter carries the same name" he tapped the object "Himiko" before scratching his head in embarrassment "I don't want to get confused on who I'm talking to"
She blinked at the coincidence and forced a laugh out of her mouth "let's think on my new name later"
As if to bring the point home their stomachs growled signaling the boy to make food for them both
"I hope you like eggs and toast for now" Izuku called "I haven't used the kitchen much thanks to studying in UA"
All he got was a giggle making him smile that she wouldn't fuss him for something fancy
The soul student decided on sunny eggs with buttered toast to go with it. Once he got food on the table Toga asked about ketchup and he responded it to have a bottle on the top shelf
The two ate in peace before a yawn got their attention and saw Inko walking in rubbing her eyes
The mother finally got her vision and her son with the girl he brought yesterday eating a simple breakfast together
"Izuku...did you make breakfast this time?" she questioned
"I did" the boy responded "but I've gotten rusty and am worried that it won't be enough to fill us up..."
Inko sprang into life and quickly went to the kitchen and make a big batch of food for her son, his new friend, herself and her brother-in-law
As the mother worked on prepping the meals the two started conversing again
"Do you feel better after spending the night with me and my family?" Izuku smiled
"Yes, I never thought that someone like me could find comfort after doing bad stuff most of my life" Himiko responded before looking at her hero "not to mention that you wanted to change my name"
"Right" Izuku nodded
While the two discussed about what name Himiko is going to be. Inko heard the whole thing and smiled that her son is being the hero he's going to be...
Even though she wanted to support her baby in this, there will always be a part of doubt within her psyche thanks to the news of him being quirkless and her unwillingness to support her child's moment of weakness
The mother placed her dishes on the table and was about to stop their conversation. The doorbell rang making all three of them stop
"That must be your uncle son" she went for the door 'I hope that he's in uniform today...Himiko Toga started to change, but it's still early for her to trust more people'
The controversial hero yawned a bit from his late, and quick, patrol last night.
'I should be thankful for my nephew for the Hosu incident' he thought 'after seeing him capture the hero killer other pro-heroes are working hard to do their job' a chuckle escaped his lips 'I wonder what symbol you will be?'
His thoughts stopped when the door opened to see his sister-in-law looking relieved
"I see that our resident villain is still shaking you" he hummed
"Even though Izuku saved her" she sighed quietly "I still can't over the fact that a villain is in my home"
"Good thing I'm here" Necrom placed his hand on her shoulder "the worry you have won't stay for long" and gave an assuring smile "trust your family that she can be redeemed"
Inko looked at her brother-in-law and nodded at his words
Now the family and guest ate their breakfast savoring the moment of peace until all of them finished eating
After that, the controversial opted to keep Himiko Toga by his side to help her be redeemed. The girl was against that suggestion since she will be away from the hero who saved her but got assured by Izuku that she just needs someone who can permit her to get reformed by a pro
And after handling her quirk and habits related to it she can see Izuku at her free time.
So Himiko Toga finally agreed to be separated for a while but that didn't mean she was happy to leave the one who saved her from becoming a full villain
"This will be a while before you could be with him again" Necrom stated "your struggles are related to your quirk Himiko Toga" he hummed "can you trust me on how to help you...?"
"I..." the girl was reluctant at first but one quick glance at Izuku's smiling face made her ready "will make sure to change for the better"
"That's a good answer Toga" the soul student spoke getting her attention "and just to be safe on your disguise" he rolled up his left sleeve and presented his arm to her "you can have another batch from me"
Himiko was surprised that her hero wasn't hesitating to satisfy her blood craving thanks to her quirk
"Izuku?" Inko and Necrom blinked at his action before the mother screamed a bit at seeing the girl bite down on the boy's arm and slurped the red fluid pouring into her mouth
"Sorry for not bringing this up sooner" Izuku grunted as he kept himself upright "but Toga's quirk made her crave on blood" the girl removed herself from his limb and smiled in satisfaction "so to keep her sane I offered my blood voluntarily"
She didn't like hearing that but didn't give into her worries as her son patted Himiko's face lightly to get her focused again with the girl smiling happily on not being denied the one thing she needed to stay stable
"At least you're not dying for doing that" Necrom rubbed his eyes 'should've realized that Stain would attract the discarded during his little crusade against society...'
The mother breathed deeply after seeing her baby injured and looked at him in the eye "this will be hard for me" she said seriously "but I won't stop you from pursuing your dream"
Which resulted in a hug by him catching her off guard
"I know you had trouble supporting my dreams mom" Izuku whispered "and I know you didn't want to break my mental condition back then"
The mother flinched at that and felt strong pain at not helping her baby
"But...that's why I still pursue my dream of being a hero" he added "you couldn't support me but tried so hard to comfort my broken heart" and rubbed his mother's back gently "so let me return that by handling my own problems while assuring you that even though I'm risking my life...I will come home and spend time with my loving parent"
That sentence finally broke Inko's dam...she clung onto her son and cried tears she held in for years
The mother and son kept each other close with the former continuing to let her tears fall while the latter kept rubbing his mother's back comforting the mother in her moment of regret
Outside the door, Necrom and Himiko heard the personal conversation with the latter sniffling a bit
"You okay?" the controversial hero questioned
"Not so much" she rubbed her tear stained eyes "even though I will get my chance to see Deku Ghost again...I'll be apart from him for a while"
"Hey don't think like that" Necrom clasped her shoulder "just think of this as special training for your current problem" and then assured the girl with a small smile
"Really...?" her eyes widen a bit feeling hope
"Really" he kneeled in front of her and presented his hand "I am sure you will pull through and see Deku Ghost again"
The former villain looked at the hand and remembered her hero's words about trust... with newly found resolve she accepted Necrom's hand without hesitation and promised herself to thank the ones who saved her from darkness by reforming
Izuku bid farewell to his mom and went off to UA and see his classmates in the school. But on the way there he was greeted by people with cheer and praise on stopping the hero killer, Stain in Hosu from the news
He smiled and waved to them while assuring them such an accomplishment was thanks to his wish on helping as a path to be a hero. But he warned them that by jumping in every time to stop a bad person isn't easy because there will always be doubt somewhere and damage will be made in the process
The soul student made it to school without hassle and walked into his classroom to be greeted by a surprising pair
"Here's the hero of the class...!" Sero and Denki shouted at seeing their classmate by the door
To which the other students notice
"Midoriya!" Toru ran and gave him a tight hug "you're okay...!"
"Yes I am Hagakure" he rubbed the visible girl's back
"I'm glad as well" Momo walked to him "you really gave some of our classmates a scare with facing a villain in your internship"
"I'm sorry for that" the soul student awkwardly smiled "I was just following my mentor during my internship until Stain was in Hosu"
The other students were about to question him about the battle but someone walked in saving him from the questions
"It wasn't his fault" Iida walked into the room "It was mine"
"Iida...?" they blinked in surprise
The class rep of 1-A decided to reveal that his brother, the first Ingenium, encountered the hero killer in Hosu during the Sports Festival and he was in disarray when seeing the one he looked up to hospitalized
"So you went with your fury to avenge your family?" Mina blinked in surprise that her usually by the books classmate would just go berserk
"I did" he sighed in regret "and after hearing him say his hero career is over" before balling his hands tightly "I...I just couldn't think straight anymore"
"You really got some of the class worried" Tsuyu croaked "and it was thanks to Deku Ghost helping you be free from that anger"
Izuku went to his friend and patted his friend's shoulder "at least you know what you did wrong and will learn from it" before leaning whispering words that surprised Iida "even without permission from my mentor that night, I'd still want to save you from danger" and added one part "because a hero saves lives..."
The class rep looked at the soul student in disbelief making the others around them blink with the engine student feeling more respect to his friend
"I'll be outside for a moment" Izuku rubbed his head "I just felt the weight of my actions after resting from my internship"
He walked out of the classroom leaving his classmates to their experiences with some talking about him
"You know" Denki scratched his chin "Midoriya might outrank us one day..."
"No kidding" Rikido scratched his head "he was the only one to actually face a villain among us"
"Makes you wonder that Necrom taught him about risking things huh?" Eijiro hummed
"Truly a hero that is hard to follow" Aoyama beamed feeling a bit scared at facing strong terror
"But you gotta admit that he's more approachable thank Bakugo or Todoroki" Mina commented
'He's so far ahead now...' Koji twiddled his fingers remembering his classmate's statement at stopping Stain 'I need to be brave too!'
"At least he's done better" Minoru bit his fingernail still recalling his mentor's teaching method muttering something to himself "no good harpy..."
Momo looked out the window, she'll just have to thank him for the Fatgum suggestion during lunchbreak then
Izuku was taking deep breaths to calm himself down 'still can't believe that I fought a real villain during my internship' he covered his eyes 'no doubt my teacher will be scolding me for a while when he decides to talk with me'
"Deku" Katsuki's voice was heard and the boy turned seeing his explosive classmate in Beast Jeanist's hairstyle
The soul student breathed again as to not laugh but couldn't stop a smile forming on his lips "I take it the number 3 used his best products on your wild hair?" he only got a growl "that's what you got for not listening Katsuki" and gestured to the door "I'm sure the class needs a good moment after working under the pros"
Katsuki's body shook at the jab "I'll get you back for this Deku...!" and walked to the classroom
"I'll repeat what I just said" he hummed "that's what you get for not listening"
Once Katsuki went into the room. Izuku heard laughing, from the classmates brave enough upon seeing the blonde explosive, and shouting, to which Katsuki was making on those who laughed at him on his new hairstyle
Izuku smiled again feeling better at hearing his classmates be in a good mood while his
"Deku!" Ochaco's voice was heard along with fast footsteps
The soul student turned to see his other friend coming at him and before he could react... he was in a tight hug
"You got me worried Deku!" she pouted "first that fight with the monster in USJ, now a battle against Stain in Hosu" her eyes lightly glared at him "are you throwing your life away before getting you're chance to seen as hero?"
"I know it's bad that I'm losing my chances" he chuckled rubbing her back "but let's save that for lunch okay?"
The gravity girl huffed but nodded and let go of her friend before going into class and show her fighting spirit during the internship with Gunhead
"At least that's a better reaction than I hoped for" Izuku sighed feeling his relief "I actually expected her to scold me more"
"She isn't the only one problem child" Shouta's voice called making him jump a bit
"Uh..." he gulped at seeing his strict teacher "are you gonna scold me for risking my life?"
"Normally I would" the teacher crossed his arms "but after finding out Necrom is your relative, it wouldn't matter" he sighed "I've worked with him a few times and can see my words won't stop your actions"
"I'll make sure to lessen the damage to myself should I jump in next time" the soul student provided
"That's all I can hope for" the teacher rubbed his eyes a bit "just...make sure to keep yourself together"
"Will do teacher" he saluted 'I've worried my mom so much now, got to prove that I don't take so much damage in the field work'
Author's Notes:
Another chapter done and concluding the Hero Killer arc...sorry it took a while to update but I have been distracted with some story ideas that I plan to publish in a different date, not to mention season 2 is going to be finished soon and I have other stories that needs updating
So after I finish season 2 of Deku the Ghost will be on hold again due to the fact that it is about training camp arc and I have plans on a few members in the 1-B class to interact with 1-A after Neito's idiocy against the rival class from Vlad King's words about the word
As for Himiko getting a different name. Izuku has stated above that he'll get confused on which Himiko he's talking to... (not to mention the girl loves cute things, she will be really happy that Toga's hero would make a cute name for her)
