Chapter 16
Like Rin said, Kagome can clearly see how good she is being a substitute teacher not just for science but other subjects of the school. "It's no wonder Rin won Sesshomaru over." Kagome giggles to herself. As such she made sure that her class had caught up with their work as well as getting them ready for any upcoming exams. True that every single student must have an education for their lives. Even for agents such as Kagome and Rin.
It's during their lunch break that Kagome and Rin take their break to the teacher's lounge. "Anything new today?" Kagome asks Rin as she grabs her coffee thermos out of her bag. "Nothing as of yet. Have you found anything?" Rin asks in return as she puts her lunch into the microwave to heat it up. Seeing that they're the only ones in the room, they still have to use their fake names so no one else who know their true identities.
"The only thing we know so far are the two victims that were killed in the terrorist attack." Rin said as she showed the pictures of the victims.
"We just don't know who it was that did it. This person called the Purifier might be the one." Kagome adds in.
Kagome picks up the one victim: Mr. Benimoto. She opens her laptop and was able to get a profile about him. "He was the history teacher of this school. 25 years old. History major. Single. And I found his phone number on this as well." She can see that's he quite good looking, but not compared to Inuyasha. "Shot to the head. Died immediately." She reads the results of his death.
"Any idea about the cell phone records?" Rin asks as she begins her research of the other victim. Mrs. Kohori.
Kagome uses the tracking software of the phone number. From time to time, she was able to find some threats and warning from another cell phone repeatedly. "Rin I need you to see if this number matches any of the faculty or students that attend here." Kagome said to her seriously as she gives the number.
Rin types down the phone number and traces it to find the owner of the cell phone. After a few minutes. "No match. Must be an outside source. Maybe the one who is threating him was from someone else. Give me a second to look for more." Rin responds before resuming her search. "I found it." She smiles brightly.
Rin turns her laptop to show Kagome.
"Sentaro Hutome." Kagome reads it quietly. She types down the person's name to see if she could find information about him. "Let's see…" She finds a link that has his name on it. "He goes to the university to become a teacher as well. But he's not qualified to be hired?" She reads the article about the individual.
"Not qualified? Does he have a degree or other certification from the university?" Rin asks her curiously. Kagome holds her chin. "So far he hasn't graduated or dropped out." She guessed so far. "Sesshomaru, can you see this?" Kagome clicks her earring to make sure she can connect to him.
"I can. I'll have someone to go talk to him or follow him. Which one do you prefer?" Sesshomaru spoke through the device.
"Just have someone follow him, just make sure that he doesn't see him or her." Kagome requests him.
"Very well." Sesshomaru turn off his headset. "Riku. Can you please come in?" He dials the man's phone number.
"Loud and clear." Riku spoke back. "I need you to find this person named Sentaro Hutome. He attends university. Just be casual and don't get the man's attention to you. Is that clear?" Sesshomaru gives his order.
"Absolutely. I'm heading over to the university as we speak." Riku hangs up on his end of the call. Sesshomaru puts his headset back on.
"Ok, listen carefully. I've sent Riku to locate the man and hope that he'll find any information about him." He tells his wife and Kagome through the earpiece.
"Thank you. Rin and I are still going through the victims' records to see if any of them has a connection to the killer." Kagome responds as she and Rin work tirelessly until they have to go back to class to see if any of their students might have some clues as well.
Kagome enters her classroom, and waits for her students to take their seats. She was told by Rin about blood. It's not like Kagome is squeamish about the substance. As soon as the students settled down, Kagome's phone binged to alert her that one of the seats has detected. She leans to see which one it was and to see it was one of the students that sat in that seat.
Memorizing which student sits where, Kagome types down the student's name on the notepad, as well as not to provoke. "Ok class. I've been informed about what Ms. Hoji has been teaching you during my absence, we're going through the anatomy of the human body. As such the blood is part of what system?"
Kagome looks attentively to the student who sat in the seat that binged. "Sosuke." She said his name.
"The circulatory system." He gives the answer.
"Correct. We all should know that system is very vital to the body. Blood is very important because of the purposes it must carry out."
Kagome continues on her lessons. It doesn't take her long until the final bell rings to dismiss the students. "Ok class, we're going to continue with this. Make sure you hand over your homework to me on your way out."
The students handed over their assigned homework and gave them to her.
As soon as the classroom cleared out, Saki enters. "Mrs. Aino." A voice spoke. Kagome turns to see it's Saki. She sees something on Saki's face. A black eye. What happened, Saki?" She asks as she comes to the girl. "It's nothing to worry about." Saki shrugs it, but Kagome can clearly see that someone struck the girl.
"Listen to me carefully, Saki. I know that this was not an accident. Now tell me who it is that did this to you." Kagome spoke gently.
Saki remains silent. "Ok. Here's what we're going to do." Kagome said to get her to pay attention. Whatever you say is between you and me. No one else is to know about this." She gently takes hold of the girl's shoulder.
"It was the Purifier." Saki tells Kagome. Kagome remains calm. "Do you know who the Purifier is?"
"The Purifier was someone who doesn't come here to the school." Saki starts off.
"Ok. If you don't want to say anything else, we can stop. Until you're ready." Kagome advise her nicely. Saki nods and leaves the room.
Kagome gathers her belongings and heads home. "Hey." Rin comes to her from down the hall. "Oh hey. Do you have any plans tonight?" She asks Kagome with a smile. "Maybe. I have some assignments to grade." Kagome honestly responds as they get to their cars.
"That's what I meant. I have some information." Rin keeps her smile. "Ok. Let's see if my information matches yours." Kagome smiles back. They go their separate ways to head home. Kagome pulls into Inuyasha's driveway to see that Inuyasha's car is home.
'At least he's home with Moroha.' She thought with a smile and enters the house. "I'm home." She calls out to them. She takes off her shoes and hears some yelling coming from the basement. She goes down the stairs and sees that one of the doors is opened.
"Again." Inuyasha said to someone in the room. Kagome is about to knock until she sees Moroha doing a martial art move. "Hiya." Moroha shots. Kagome couldn't stay out of the room any longer. "What's going on here?" Kagome enters with a side smile.
"Daddy and I are doing martial arts." Moroha bows to Kagome. Kagome chuckles at the scene. "Ah, I guess what I did at the hospital has gotten you interested in this." She kneels down to her daughter's level. "Mommy. Can you spar with Daddy?" Moroha asks her.
Kagome looks up to see Inuyasha in his workout clothes. "Maybe another time, baby. I just got home and I have to take care of the schoolwork." She turns her sight back to Moroha.
Moroha whimpers. "Please. Pretty pretty please." She finger laces her fingers together. Kagome. "Very well. Give me a minute to change." She leaves the room.
"You know I'm not gonna go easy on her." Inuyasha reminds her. "I know, daddy. Besides you taught her what you know." Moroha crossed her arms cutely. Inuyasha couldn't help but chuckle. "You're doing great so far. But you still have a long way to go until you get to my level."
