The Salvor Region: A region based on Silicon Valley. Salvor has a very work ethical culture where most people grow up to go into the workforce. This is represented by the three starter Pokemon of the region, Timburr, Rookidee and Rolycoly, representing the construction, transportation and energy industries. It's due to this work culture that Pokemon Battling has become less popular amongst the populace and Gym Challengers are treated as rarities who are sponsored by large companies to wear their brands while they aim for the top. Salvor scientists are responsible for the creation of Sigma Species, genetically modified Pokemon that resemble existing Pokemon, but often more powerful. These show a vast similarity to the Paradox Pokemon seen in Paldea as well as various others never seen before. The current head of Salvor's technological empire, Dr. Marcus Salvodar has a bit of a grudge against Amber, as he was passed over during the selection.
Timeline: This World Coronation Series takes place after the one depicted in Pokemon Journeys where Ash won and became the World Monarch. This is several years later when Ash has grown older and become even more seasoned, still holding the #1 Ranking as the Monarch. A new story with a new protagonist then unfolds, someone also aiming for the top in the Salvor Region.
Characters
Amber Knight: The current Champion of the Salvor Region. She was actually born in the Sinnoh Region and has traveled across many regions before coming to Salvor. She previously fought through many battles and examinations in order to have the title passed to her from Nikola, the previous Champion. Amber is a kind-hearted individual, who genuinely wants to help others better themselves as both trainers and people. Still, the people of Salvor haven't completely accepted her as their Champion, as she's considered by many to be too young and inexperienced, a vast contrast to Nikola. It's clear Nikola saw something special in her to entrust her with the job of Champion. Known to be very cunning in her battles, she commonly uses what she calls a Lockdown strategy, making it so that her opponents have as few options as possible to fight back.
Renkton: Champion Amber's long-time rival and a very strong trainer. Very bold and strong-minded, she's eager to battle and take on a challenge. Previously, she was very invested in becoming the strongest and worked with her starter Charmander to do so, encountering Amber when the latter had just begun her journey. However after a long rivalry, the two became best friends. These days, she travels throughout Salvor, generally pursuing her own endeavors. Her battling style utilizes unpredictability and versatility inspired by Ash Ketchum himself.
Vabelle: A long-time friend of Amber and a teacher at Salvor Prime Academy and a high-level trainer. Known to be quite intelligent, she's got knowledge of all things Pokemon and the Salvor Region itself, assisting young students figure out what paths they want to pursue in life. Previously, she met both Amber and Renkton on their journeys and competed with them in Sinnoh. Her being the smartest out of the three gave the others a real challenge. However, Vabelle found greater joy teaching the lessons she's learned than beating others in battle, leading to her role and also acting as a support for her friends. Those at the academy call her, 'The Professor.' Her battling style utilizes defensive tactics and passive damage.
Raye: The protagonist of Pokemon Azure and Carmine (the hypothetical story that takes place in Salvor). She's a trainer who was born in Salvor, but has already traveled through various other regions before returning to participate in Salvor's Gym Challenge. She's got double the drive most trainers have to become strong, but also doesn't know what she'll do other than that. As her journey continues, she realizes there's more to the world than striving for the top.
CJ: A young student from the Salvor Prime Academy who is doing a project on the perspectives of Gym Challengers and wants to discover what his passion in life will be. He chose Raye as his subject and travels with her and Charla throughout Salvor.
Charla: Charla is a teacher and Normal Type Gym Leader who decides to travel with Raye and CJ and is dedicated to supporting younger trainers in their journeys.
