A response to egwolf65's challenge, this rewrite explores a dark possibility: that Team Avatar loses. The only survivors, Toph, Katara, and Zuko try to make sense of this new world but all they really know is that they will keep fighting. When the original bending masters approach them with a different approach-to be trained and sent back in time-the way forward is clear.

In the week following the Siege of the North, Sokka is unable to fully process losing Yue. In an attempt sort out his feelings, he begins writing letters adressed to her. Amidst the pages of guilt, anger, and regrets, he finds the things that make life worthwile. And maybe, just maybe- inches a little more towards to closure.

Opame has a secret, one that she has kept for a long time. Times are changing, however, and the secret is getting harder to keep. Eventually, she will have to learn who she can trust and how to do that again.
