I didn't object to Tauriel as an OC in the Hobbit movies but I think her story line could have been handled better. In the book the Company was imprisoned for two weeks. This story expands the time from the movie to accommodate more interactions between characters, especially Tauriel&Kili. Characters, locations obviously do not belong to me. Some movie dialogue used for continuity.

Bilbo was always grateful for the reputation of his family. It made his fellow hobbits more inclined to ignore his eccentricities, such as the hat he never removed. Bilbo Baggins had secrets, such as his... atypical soul-marking. But adventure is nigh, and who knows what secrets his travelling companions may learn. Bilbo x Thorin, Bagginshield, slash.
