Fifteen years after the Air Nomads were destroyed, the Northern Water Tribe fell. That was the way things were supposed to be. Unfortunately for the Fire Navy, it wasn't the way things were.

Aang awakes from his century-long hibernation to look up into Fire Nation eyes, and Mai finds that her trip to the South Pole has taken a turn for the exciting. In this Alternate Universe, the only thing more powerful than love is the call of betrayal. Mai is a founding member of the gAang and adventure'n'intrigue ensue, but this will NOT rehash the cartoon.

Zuko and Aang celebrate the Double Ninth Festival with their daughter by climbing a mountain and musing on mortality.

Katara is captured in a fire nation raid to the south pole when she is 6. The events after that spiral out of control after she grows older under the fire nations careful eye, and she eventually gets sent away with Zuko to search for the Avatar. (zutara fic).

The Fire Nation won. The Avatar never appeared and upon the Second Coming of Sozin's Comet the Fire Nation burned the world and claimed it as their own. 5 years later Sokka is a slave and has been for a year now. Constantly near death Sokka wakes up one day to an odd message. Gamer fic.

For years, the Southern Water Tribe was a peaceful and undisturbed nation. Six years later, it is merely a conquest of the Fire Nation. Armed with nothing but a sarcastic brother and the element of surprise, Katara vows to save her tribe. Even if it means going up against Fire Lord Zuko. (AU of a sort)
