A first person present perspective as Korra walks to the cliff. This is a reflexive piece examining Korra's understanding of what being the avatar means, her self-recrimination and despair. Those who find the latter part of the fic a little confusing should read up on the concept of oneness/universal perspective which was used heavily to frame the spiritual side of the Avatar.

Four years after Aang's death, Katara is still in deep mourning, which worries Tenzin and Pema. The new Avatar is on the verge of being discovered, and is like no other before. Katara wants to remain disengaged from the new Avatar, but a special spirit journey convinces her otherwise, so she meets Korra for the first time. General Iroh's brought the Krew to an all expenses paid resort for the Fire Nation's elite. But what he's got planned isn't exactly what Korra had expected.

This AU story is about how Amon/Noatak and Korra became a couple. It starts with the confrontation at Aang's Memorial and the effect it had on both of them, and how by discovering common feelings and beliefs, the whole Equalist movement is altered from one of conflict to one of peaceful negotiations.
