Here's a story about Ash and Serena's love story set years after the events of the Ash Ketchum Era of the Pokemon anime. Enjoy!
Chapter 1: A Date to Remember
The world of Pokemon is fascinating and full of countless trainers. The most famous of all was a 10 year old boy from Pallet Town in Kanto named Ash Ketchum. He started off with his partner Pikachu and together they traveled the regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola and Galar, where they met lots of friends and Pokemon. They competed in Pokemon Leagues of each region and after losing six times in Kanto to Kalos, he finally won one with the Alola League, becoming its first ever champion. Afterwards he entered the World Coronation Series where he competed against the strongest trainers in the world. He made it to the Masters Eight Tournament, where he battled Leon, the World Champion, and though it was tough, Ash ultimately emerged victorious, becoming the very best like no one ever was. Afterwards, he achieved his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master. He even managed to defeat and disband Team Rocket. Afterwards, all of his friends, who have all accomplished their dreams, gathered for one huge celebration.
7 years have passed since his adventures and now 17, Ash was in his room on his bed contemplating about something. It was about one of his friends. He had made many throughout his travels such as Misty and Brock to Goh and Chloe. But there was one friend that really stood out. Pikachu noticed Ash's mood.
"Pikapi?" asked Pikachu, which startled Ash.
"Oh sorry Pikachu." he said. "I've just been thinking. It's about Serena."
Serena was his friend whom Ash traveled with through Kalos, but they actually met when they were 6 years old at Professor Oak's Summer Camp, where he helped her stand up after tripping and wrapped his handkerchief around her knee, which she had kept for years until they reunited in Kalos. Ash didn't recognize her at first but then remembered her after seeing it. Serena had developed feelings for Ash but he didn't notice it, as he was oblivious to love. Once she had kissed him on the lips after she and Ash parted ways, he realized that she liked him and would've done the same to her when they reunited in Hoenn but due to the ship leaving, their reunion was brief. Since then, Ash had kept close contact with her despite her being in Kalos as he visits the place from time to time. Now Ash feels like that after 7 years, he's finally going to tell her how he truly feels.
"Pikachu, I like Serena and I wanna tell her how I feel," he said. "I'll ask her out later today and we'll go on a date tomorrow, just like how we sorta did back in Coumarine City in Kalos."
"Pikapika!" exclaimed Pikachu excited for Ash.
Suddenly, his phone rang with his ringtone being I Wanna Be the Very Best Like No One Ever Was. He picked it up and it was Serena trying to FaceTime him. Ash's face lit up. Talk about perfect timing.
"Pikachu, it's Serena!" Ash exclaimed excitedly. "Perfect timing!"
"Pikachu!"
Ash answered. "Hi Serena! How are you?"
Serena smiled. "HI Ash! I'm good! How are you?"
"I'm fine thanks!" replied Ash.
Pikachu waves to Serena. "Pikapi!"
Serena smiled and waved back."Hi Pikachu!"
"So what did you want to talk about Serena?" asked Ash.
"I just wanted to check on you, you know to see how you're doing." she replied.
"That's sweet of you. And that's funny that you called because I was thinking about you." said Ash.
Serena blushed. "R-really?"
"Yeah, there's something I need to ask you," he said.
"What is it, Ash?" asked Serena.
Taking a deep breath, he looked into Serena's eyes and spoke from his heart.
"Serena, these past seven years have been incredible, and I wouldn't change a thing. But there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time now. I've always cherished our friendship, and I was wondering if you'd like to take this journey with me in a different way. Would you go on a date with me?"
Serena's eyes widened and started to tear up and smiled happily. "Ash, I've been waiting for you to ask that for years! I'd love to go on a date with you!"
Ash and Pikachu gasped happily.
"Thank you Serena!" said Ash.
"Pikapika!"
"No thank you Ash! It means a lot." replied Serena "How about tomorrow I'll catch a plane to Kanto and we'll meet up at the airport."
"Sounds good to me, Serena!" replied Ash. "See you tomorrow!"
"Pikapi!"
"Bye Ash, bye Pikachu" said Serena as she hung up and ended the call.
Afterwards Ash and Pikachu hi fived each other.
"Alright Pikachu! It worked! Let's go let mom know!" said Ash excitedly.
"Pika!"
The two went downstairs to let his mom know about the plan. Delia was thrilled that her son was asking out Serena, having shipped the two for years. The next day, Ash was in his room looking in the mirror getting ready. He wore a navy blue collar shirt, black jeans and black leather shoes. Ash came downstairs to show his mom, much to Delia's awe.
"Wow, you look so handsome sweetie!" complimented Delia. "Serena will love it."
"Thanks mom!" replied Ash. "I'll tell you how it goes."
"Of course," Delia replied, smiling.
"Pikachu, mom, I'll see you later!" said Ash.
"Pikapi" Pikachu waved
"Bye dear!" waved Delia. "Have fun!"
Ash went outside and got in his car and drove off to pick Serena up from the airport. He was planning on taking her to a restaurant in Viridian City. He got to the airport, parked his car and went inside and started looking for her.
"Ash!" shouted a voice, being Serena's voice. He turned to see Serena running towards him waving to him. Serena had grown quite attractive over the years. She still had short blonde hair but was slightly longer. She was wearing a beautiful red dress with white hearts and was wearing high heels. Ash was stunned by her beauty.
"Serena!" he yelled and ran over to her and the two gave each other a hug before releasing.
"It's been a while," said Ash. "You look beautiful tonight."
Serena blushed. "Thank you Ash. You look handsome yourself."
"Alright let's go to my car" said Ash as the two walked to Ash's car.
They soon drove to the restaurant at Viridian City, where a lot of people recognized Ash as the World's Strongest Trainer. He gave a few photos and autographs to fans. Soon Ash and Serena sat down at the table where the waiter took their order and ate. Ash, having a big appetite, was in love with the food, causing Serena to giggle. They had a great time bonding and laughing together.
"Ash, thank you for taking me out to dinner tonight." said Serena happily.
"Your welcome, Serena. The pleasure's all mine." replied
After dinner, they left the restaurant and decided to go home. As they were walking to the car, Ash decided that it was time to confess. He took a deep breath and began.
"Serena, there's something important I want to talk to you about," he began, his voice steady but carrying a hint of vulnerability.
Serena looked at him curiously, her eyes reflecting the glow of the city lights. "What is it, Ash? You can tell me anything."
Ash scratched the back of his head, a habit that often surfaced when he felt a bit awkward. "Well, you see, Serena, these past seven years have been incredible, and it's not just because of all the Pokémon battles and adventures. It's because you've been with me through thick and thin, cheering me on, and making every moment special."
He took a moment, looking directly into Serena's eyes.
"And, well, I've realized that my feelings for you go beyond just friendship. Serena, I really care about you, more than just a friend. I... I think I've fallen for you. I never noticed it until you kissed at the airport at the end of our Kalos journey. I just never got to tell you." said Ash.
There was a moment of silence as Serena processed Ash's confession. The city around them seemed to hold its breath, waiting for her response. Finally, Serena started to cry tears of joy upon hearing the person she admired confess his love to her
"Ash, I've been waiting for you to say that for long," she replied, her voice filled with genuine happiness. "IOur journey together has been amazing, and I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else," said Serena. "I love you, Ash.' confessed Serena.
"I love you too Serena." replied Ash.
The two of them leaned forward and kissed passionately. It was a kiss that held the weight of years of friendship, shared adventures, and unspoken feelings. The warmth of their connection enveloped them, and for that brief moment, everything else melted away.
As they eventually pulled away, a mix of emotions played on their faces—joy, realization, and the promise of something new. Ash and Serena shared a smile, their fingers interlacing, sealing their commitment to this uncharted journey of love.
The city lights continued to twinkle around them, bearing witness to the beginning of a chapter that went beyond Pokémon battles and championships. Hand in hand, Ash and Serena walked to the car, the echoes of their shared laughter and the warmth of their newfound romance lighting the path ahead.
Eventually they told their moms, Pokemon and friends the news. Everyone was happy for them and this was the beginning of a beautiful love story.
