A/N: Trigger warning for violence and torture.

Heavy breathing escaped her chapped and bleeding lips. Laughter echoed through the dungeon. Hermione pushed herself up to her feet as she wrapped her right arm around her stomach clutching tightly. Her baggy clothes were dirty, her hair a mess, and covered in twigs and branches from the woods she had been captured in. She had been locked away down below the Malfoy Manor for a couple of days.

Bellatrix stepped out from behind a pillar, her long black dress touching the cobblestone floor just barely above the heel of her boots. As she walked past the lifeless body across the dungeon. Her wand bounced against her palm as she came within a few inches of Hermione. "Itty bitty baby." She grabbed Hermione by her auburn locks and twisted her fingers until she had a good grip on her. Her wand traced the tender flesh of her neck. Brushing against the silver sunflower locket around her neck.

Hermione cried out in pain as she looked across the dungeon to the lifeless body. Tears rolled down her cheek. Her eyes closed tightly as she felt Bellatrix throw her back down to the floor. Her arms instinctively wrapped around her stomach as she hit the ground.

"Is this where his line will end? It started with his parents, then with him, and now I'm about to torture the mother of his child to pure insanity before death?" She mocked as Hermione looked up at Bellatrix through gritted teeth. "Who knew little dirty mudbloods made for such protective mothers." She pinned Hermione down using her left leg to pin her right arm down. Her left hand gripped her wrist tightly as she used her wand in her right hand to start carving into her flesh. Bellatrix didn't hold back as she continued to torture Hermione little by little, killing her slowly each time she inflicted pain on her.

Hermione screamed out in pain once more. Her body tensed beneath her as she tried to kick Bellatrix off of her body. Everything felt like it was rushing over her body. She had been tortured for the last few hours. Every time she felt like she was finally going to fade into existence Bellatrix pulled her back in. She was breaking, she held on as long as she could. She didn't break. She refused to say anything. Even when she watched the one person, she loved be tortured to death in front of her. He refused to say anything, he refused to even beg for his own life. He begged for Hermione to be spared, and when he was of no use, he ended him in front of her. His lifeless body kicked off to the side as she made her new target Hermione. Hermione had lasted longer, but at what cost? If she survived would the baby be left unharmed or did she run the chance of losing her child to a monster of a Death Eater that took pleasure in continuing her hunt of those she viewed as traitors?

Bellatrix moved off of Hermione who lay motionless. A single tear escaped from her dull brown eyes. She wasn't going to be able to fight any longer. She looked over to see the word carved into her flesh. 'Mudblood.' Bellatrix chuckled triumphantly as she twirled one of her black curls. "What a pity no one will find you two. I'm sure the Dark Lord would have loved to have a little fun with you, but I think it would be fitting I finish this."

Hermione watched from across the room as a hand lifted as if reaching for her, a glow coming from the ring on his left hand. She closed her eyes tightly as she bit her bottom lip, if he was still alive he heard and watched everything. Her right hand reached up for her necklace. The silver sunflower that she was given. A family heirloom that she had been given. She was told that there was a protective charm from what he had told her, but it didn't work. She wasn't spared the torture, and neither was their unborn child no matter how hard Hermione tried to protect the child. A click was heard as the sunflower split and opened a glow escaped.

Bellatrix took a step forward towards Hermione. The glow only intensified until Hermione could no longer see. Everything went black as she felt herself fade into the light itself.

When she finally woke she found herself on the dark brown couch in a sea cottage near the coast. One of the safe houses. The smell of the salty air, the sound of the shelled windchime blowing in the faint breeze from the open windows. This, this was familiar to her, but this place. This place had been destroyed over a year ago. Why did everything look as if it hadn't been before the attack on the place? She pushed herself up to see a tan blanket had been draped over her. Her hand immediately went to her stomach. She froze for a moment as she waited. Her breathing slowed as she waited. Then she felt the tiny kick. A sense of relief washed over her as she laid back on the couch.

She placed her hands on her forehead as she tried to figure out what had happened. The sun-bleached boards above her creaked from the occupants upstairs. "How did I get here?" She whispered as she looked to her arm to reveal the word 'Mudblood' that had been freshly carved into her flesh. The torture wasn't a dream, everything that happened, happened, but she couldn't figure out how she ended up in the cottage. She looked down at her clothing, nothing was torn, her blue jeans were clean, and her pink long-sleeved shirt hadn't any rips or tears in it. The cuts and bruises were gone. The only reminder was the permanent scar that was etched into her, mostly likely a curse or hex that Bellatrix did while performing the cruciatus curse. The sound of footsteps rushing down the steps caught her off guard, she moved and curled up and acted like she was asleep. She didn't know who was there.

A young woman with short hot pink hair stepped off the last step carefully as she rested a hand on her stomach. "I'm fine. The doctor said I need to walk."

Remus followed after as he frowned. "But he said to limit the stress level too, you can't just bebop around as if you are invincible. I don't like you coming to the meetings as much, what if something happened like an ambush."

"I highly doubt that there will be a surprise attack Remus." She rolled her bright blue eyes at his comments. "I'm only a few months along, Remus, it was just a minor hiccup." She spoke as she went into the kitchen to start breakfast.

"The hiccup is you changing your appearance. It's too much strain on your body right now. I wish you would listen to what I have to say." Remus leaned back against the counter as he watched her pull the eggs from the fridge and the toast from the bread box. She started the gas stove, she placed the toast on the griddle and then cracked the eggs on the other side of the griddle. "You know I can do this? You don't have to be a housewife."

"I'm not doing this for you, we have a guest." Tonk's spoke as she motioned to the couch Hermione was pretending to be asleep on. "She came in sometime last night. She was already asleep when I came down. I sent an owl to Molly, Molly sent an owl back and said that Hermione and Ron had gotten into a fight again." Tonks took a glass down from the cupboard and filled the glass with the tap water from the faucet.

"Even the young aren't spared of the stresses of war," Lupin spoke as he moved and flipped the eggs on the griddle for her.

Tonks sat the clear glass on the counter as she shook her head. "No, Ron was upset because she was talking to another classmate."

Lupin blinked a bit confused. "I don't understand."

"She's apparently talking to the Longbottom boy." Tonks flipped the toast on the griddle next to the eggs.

"But they're not dating, Hermione and Ron? Those two bicker more than ten-year-old children over a toy." Lupin spoke flipping a few eggs over again. "Why would he be upset with her like that."

"You know boys at that age are so moody and unpredictable. You've seen it with Harry and his behaviors as he tries to navigate these challenges we've already gone through with the first war. I say we let her stay for now, I don't think it's a good idea for her to go back if he's acting like that. He's going to drain her emotionally if he's not in the right head space. I highly doubt that she would be doing anything either. The attack on their group at the Ministry was brutal. The Longbottom boy, he was faced with the woman who took everything from him. The one that destroyed his parents and left them empty shells. Hermione is kind and nurturing she was trying to comfort that boy, that's the only reason why I feel she would reach out to him." Tonks frowned, she moved grabbing a few plates down from the cupboard. "She's always taking care of everyone else, but herself. I think it's best for her to have time and space away from taking care of Ron and Harry. Those two need to learn to rely on themselves."

"I couldn't agree more with you," Lupin responded as he placed a few eggs on her plate with a piece of toast. "For now we will let her rest, before too long she along with Harry and Ron will be starting their sixth year. She can stay as long as she needs to, this is a safe place after all." He helped Tonk's to her seat when she walked to the white-washed kitchen table that could seat at least four people comfortably. "Those two do need to work on taking care of themselves for Hermione's sake. It's not fair to her."

Hermione listened closely to everything they discussed. She realized now what was going on, something or someone had sent her back in time. She was about to start her sixth year, but she had never run off to the cottage by the sea that Tonks and Lupin lived in. She remembered fighting with Ron during that summer. That's when she reached out to Neville through letters, it was to make sure he was okay after the fight at the Ministry, but the letters soon turned into a little more when he actually checked on her. When Ron caught sight of one of the letters he blew up on her and she had stopped for a short time to keep peace while under the Weasley's burrow. But she learned later on after she and Neville talked during Charms class a month into the school year, she learned that he had continued to send her letters, but she had never received them. Someone had been taking and hiding the letters he sent.

Another thing that confused her was the fact Tonk's was pregnant, but Tonks wasn't supposed to be pregnant with Teddy yet. Had the timeline shifted or had she gone back in time? If she had how could she still be pregnant with her child? What would happen if she did something by accident that altered the future? She had already altered the past by showing up at Tonk's and Remus's home on the coast.

For now, she could hide her pregnancy, as long as she continued to wear baggy clothing she wouldn't have to use spells to alter her appearance. She had maybe a month before she truly started to show.
