Huntresses of Fairy Tail
"Do you believe the stuff written in this garbage?" Weiss questioned, looking at the issue of Sorcerer Weekly that was dedicated to the new Fairy Tail exclusive stories.
"Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the SDC, and the daughter of known racist and Faunus enslaver, Jacques Schnee, proves shes is nothing like her father. The Prominent Heiress faces the sins of her father head on, in taking the first step to reinstating her grandfathers good name, after having been tarnished by Jacques Watts, who married into the Schnee name." Blake read aloud from her own copy. "Weiss's actions in apologizing to the God of War for her fathers misdeeds, proves that blood ties do not control ones path, but rather they are merely the starting line in the race that is life."
"Damn, it even shows an image of Weiss bowing to Raion, with his scar completely visible and everything." Yang said, looking at her own copy. "But damn we look good in our outfits. Glad I chose to keep wearing mine from the photo shoot."
"An' you tried hiding this from us, why?" Ruby asked, holding up her copy.
"Because I knew Weiss would get upset." Raion said, pushing the handles on a cart. "I didn't think she'd be griping about it for nearly a week though."
"Of course I'm upset about it. Do you have any idea what my father's gonna do once he reads this article? Winter and Mother both subscribe to Sorcerer Weekly, and he gets the weekly magazine with his morning paper whenever it comes out." Weiss said.
"Well as I see it, you've actually secured your position as Heiress with this article." Yang said.
"She's right. Unless you murder someone, your father can't even touch your inheritance as Heiress to the company anymore." Blake added.
"How do you figure that?" Weiss asked with a huff.
"Basically Weiss, what they mean is, if Jacques Schnee were to try and revoke your right as Heiress, at any given point, no matter what the actual reason for it is, as the populace would call him out on it being due to your actions, when bowing to me in apology." Raion explained. "They'll think he's trying to hide something, and an investigation will be started up by the Atlas Authorities, and it will be a thorough investigation as General Ironwood, was once a member of Fairy Tail himself."
"No way." Ruby said.
"The General was a member of Fairy Tail?" Yang questioned.
"That's kinda surprising." Blake said. "I would never imagine someone like him, actually enjoying a guild like Fairy Tail."
"Normally, you'd be right about that." Raion said. "But according to Gramps, Ironwood was quite the trouble making wild card back in his academy days."
"But what does this have to do with me and my situation?" Weiss asked.
"Oh right, we're still on that, sorry." Ruby said.
"To put it plainly, Ironwood won't take kindly to what he would view as a sign of disrespect to his guild. He might not work at the Guild anymore, but he's still technically a member of Fairy Tail." Raion said. "So he'll put his best investigators on the case involving your father, and they will uncover every single skeleton in his closet. But, Jacques is smarter then that."
"Because he's not willing to risk that investigation, so he's gonna leave me as Heiress, no matter what I do." Weiss said, finally understanding what they were saying.
"Exactly." Raion smiled.
"So, are we almost back to the guild?" Yang asked. "I've got a bet with Natsu that I could beat his record of how many dumplings could be eaten in five minutes. An' loser has to pay the tab."
"We're back in Magnolia now, but let me ask you something real quick." Raion said, looking over his shoulder to the four girls sitting in the cart, with the Grimm Skeleton remains.
Blake, and Weiss were back in the clothes they preferred to wear before the photo shoot, with Blake's attire devoid of the bow, as she now left her ears out and exposed for everyone to see, but Ruby and Yang were still wearing the clothes they wore for the photo shoot. The same could also be said for Raion, as he found that he actually liked the clothes Yang had picked out for him, as he said it made him look more like a Huntsman with his specific title, while he also had the addition of a red gemstone pendant hanging around his neck, gleaming in the light.
"Why exactly are you four just relaxing and leaving your Sempai to do all the work?" Raion asked. "Ruby I get, but you three don't have an excuse to be lazing about.
"Consider it punishment, for trying to hide this from us." Blake said, holding up her copy of the Fairy Tail Exclusive Sorcerer Weekly magazine.
"I'm your Sempai, I was just trying to protect you." Raion said.
"Ease up on him." Ruby said. "Besides, you three have no real reason to be in here, unlike me."
"Yeah, that's true." Yang said. "How is the leg doing by the way?"
"It stings a bit still." Ruby said, putting her hand on her leg, with the bandages wrapped around her right ankle. "Can't believe I pulled a rookie move like that, with Beowolves."
"Hey, it's okay. Stuff like that's bound to happen." Blake said.
"But I'm not a rookie when it comes to fighting Beowolves. I'd fight them every other day on Patch just to keep in shape, and maintaining my scythe skills." Ruby said.
"Ruby, the Grimm here on the Fiore Continent, aren't like the Grimm in the Four Kingdoms." Raion said. "They're stronger, faster, smarter. These Grimm, are products of The Black Wizard Zeref, which means they're not as easy to kill as those on Patch, mainly because they have actual physical bodies that remain after death?"
"Is that why they didn't dust when we killed them?" Blake asked, looking at the tied up bundles of bones piled in the cart.
"Yeah. Despite being creatures of chaos and destruction, the remains of Grimm fetch for a pretty high price, and the rarer the Grimm, the higher the reward for the remains." Raion said. "Grimm bones especially, can be used for a variety of things, ranging from armors and weapons, to medicinal purposes."
"You're kidding." Weiss said.
"Nope. In fact, the marrow from the bones of Beowolves, has a healing effect that's almost superhuman, a fatal wound on an adventurers chest, can be healed in seconds, with a high enough dosage of medicine pills made with Beowolf bone marrow." Raion stated.
"What about the organs, and skins? The furs as well?" Yang asked.
"Don't forget about the blood." Ruby said, looking to the barrels and jars of the stuff they were taking with them back to the guild. "Did you have to dissect the bodies before we left?"
"If I hadn't, then all the parts would have gone bad and became unusable." Raion said. "The barrels have a special type of preservation magic ingrained into the metal, same for the metal lids of the jars. They're fairly popular amongst hunters who hunt regular animals to sell at the market."
"So, what does the blood do, medically I mean?" Blake asked.
"Grimm blood, can be quite useful for treating infections, even blood infections, if processed correctly. My master, and I mean the woman who taught me everything I know about medicines, and the apothecary arts, had me memorize all her notes on the usefulness of Grimm parts." Raion said, pushing the cart.
"The skin?"
"A natural bandage that can staunch bleeding and seal wounds to certain degrees, similarly to how sailors would you the skin of yellow tail fish to staunch the bleeding of their fellow crewmates." Raion explained.
"Organs?" Ruby asked.
"Depends on which one you're talking about."
"Liver." Blake said.
"Acts as a booster, for natural liver degradation, and can restore the liver of an alcoholic, so long as the damage isn't too severe."
"The lungs." Yang said.
"When dried and powdered, the lungs can be used for treating any number of lung infections when inhaled, like pneumonia for example, and can create strong antibodies to better fight against the same infections again, almost making the body immune to the infection entirely."
"Spleen?"
"Tastes great, when fried up with some garlic and onion rings." Raion stated.
"Heart?" Weiss asked.
"When properly processed, a Grimm's heart can be used for treating heart conditions, preventing heart attacks, strokes, VSD also known as Ventricular Septal Defect, and lowering cholesterol." Raion explained.
"Isn't VSD commonly found in newborns though?" Blake asked.
"Normally, yes. But there are the occasional cases about it being found in adults, because it wasn't noticeable at infancy, and developed greatly over time." Raion said.
"How about the brain?" Ruby inquired. "What's a purpose for that?"
"Aside from feeding zombies?" Raion chuckled. "To be honest, you wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Why not?"
"Trust me, you just wouldn't." Raion said. "What the brains are used for, is so far out there, that it makes the Maidens of Lore seem real."
"Okay then, how about the testicles?" Yang asked with a smirk.
"Yang, why you gotta do that?" Ruby asked.
"What?"
"Be perverted with your question." Weiss stated.
"Sorry Yang, but just like the Grimm in the Four Kingdoms, the Grimm here don't reproduce the same way humans, Faunus, and Demi's do." Raion said. "Their constant existences, continue to be a mystery to theorists everywhere, outside of the theory Zeref and Salem, are the ones who create them."
"What are Demi's?" Blake asked.
"Well, they're sort of like Faunus, but instead of one animal trait, they have two or more. One of the members of the Magic council happens to be one such person." Raion explained. "The lore about their origin, is kinda sketchy on the details, but from what I understand, they originated from the same waters as Faunus, but had stayed in longer then those who instantly got out, resulting in them gaining two or more animal traits, instead of one. You don't see them in the Four Kingdoms, because they all came to the continent of Fiore, long before the Kingdom was ever established, while the Faunus remained in the nations of the Four Kingdoms."
"That's kinda interesting." Yang smiled.
"So back to the magazine." Weiss said. "Jason's team just might be the best at taking photography from the shadows. I didn't even notice any flashes going off when they took these."
"That's because none were needed. My guess, the natural light outside, was good enough for what they needed." Raion said, before his eyes widened as the reflections of a destructive silhouette, shined in his vision.
"Hey, is it just me, or is everyone staring at us?" Ruby asked.
"You're right, they're staring at us, with looks of pity." Yang said.
"Not pity, sympathy." Raion said, gritting the bar of the cart handle harder. "Hold on, I'm gonna pick up the pace a bit."
Without any other warning, Raion picked up speed, and ran to the Guildhall, only starting to slow down, when he spotted a familiar looking team, comprised of three delinquents, and a redheaded knight, with a flying blue cat.
"Erza." Raion called out, as he slowed to a halt.
"Raion, Team RWBY, you're all back." Erza said.
"What happened, what's going on here?" The young man asked, jumping out from the lead of the cart.
"I don't know." Erza said. "We just got back from taking care of a job ourselves."
"Who could have done something like this? Who could have attacked our Guildhall?" Natsu questioned, his fists clenched in anger.
"It was Phantom." The familiar voice of Mirajane said, as she came up behind them, with the team turning to look at her. "I hate to say it, but they defeated us."
~Guild Hall Basement~
"Hey, Raion and Team RWBY are back." One of the Guild members called out.
"The others are with them too." Another said.
"Ruby, what happened to your leg?" Lisanna asked.
"Beowolf bite." Ruby said, coming down the stairs with a bit of a hobble. "I thought they'd be the same as the ones I fought on Patch, but I learned the hard way that they aren't."
"Did you see? Did you see what they did to our guild?" Nab questioned. "Damn it."
"Those Phantom Lord Creeps, look what they did!"
"We never did get along with them!"
"Now we're gonna have to take their guild out!"
"Calm down, we're talking about Phantom Lord here for crying out loud."
"Where's the Master?" Raion asked.
"Yo! What's up kids?" Makarov called to them, from where he sat on a barrel drinking a mug of ale. "Welcome home. Glad to see everyone is safe and sound."
"For the most part." Raion said. 'Is he drunk?'
"Hey old man. This is no time to be drinking." Natsu shouted. "Why the heck are you all just sitting around down here?"
"How'd it go Raion, did you help them complete the mission, like a good instructor?" Makarov asked.
"I did my best, as far as teaching goes." Raion stated.
"Master, do you understand the gravity of this situation?" Erza asked.
"The Guildhall has been completely destroyed." Natsu stated.
"Oh just pipe down, there's no need to go and get yourselves worked up, it's not the end of the world or anything." Makarov said, before taking another swig of his drink.
"What?" Grey asked.
"He's seriously drunk right now. How can he not care that the Guildhall is in ruins?" Yang asked.
"I need a drink, he's too drunk to be completely sensible with." Raion sighed, heading for the makeshift bar, and pouring himself a strong stiff drink.
"Just goes to show you how cowardly those dunderheads in the Phantom Lord Guild really are." Makarov stated, lowering his mug.
"It wasn't just Phantom Lord." Raion said, refilling his mug. "I caught a whiff of Mages from the White Fang guild as well. They might have a personal vendetta against me, as those arrested at the docks in Crocus, gave the Council justifiable cause to look into the White Fang guilds recent behavior changes."
"Either way, destroying our guild hall, just proves that they don't have the spines to face us head on." Makarov said. "They struck when no one was here, is that anything worth bragging about?"
"Nobody was here?" Erza asked.
"That's kinda shocking to be honest." Blake said. "That's not the White Fang's usual MO."
"It was after everyone had already left for the night." Mira said. "I was the last to leave, and locked up everything. The attack happened some time after I had finished with locking everything away."
"I suppose we can be thankful for that." Erza said.
"This doesn't make any sense though." Weiss stated.
"What doesn't make any sense?" Blake asked.
"I don't really see, what justifiable means Phantom Lord could have, to provoke something like this, and risk being disbanded for breaking the non-aggression treaty between Guilds." Weiss said. "The Council itself, was built on that treaty."
"We shouldn't trouble ourselves, worrying about people who don't even have the guts to face us head on." Makarov stated. "Forget about those fools."
"That ain't gonna happen Gramps. We can't just let them trash our Guild and get away with it. Those Phantom jerks gotta pay." Natsu said, smashing the side of a crate.
"That's enough Natsu." Raion sighed, drawing their attention to him. "Let it go."
"You can't be serious." Natsu said, aghast at what Raion suggested. "Listen, I know you might be trying to act tough in front of your friends but…"
"I said, that's enough Natsu." Raion stated, his voice having an edge to it as he sent a death stare to the fire breather, before refilling his drink. "Look, no one said that I was fine with this. Farthest thing from it, same goes for the Master. You of all people should know that."
"Then why are you both so calm about this?" Yang asked. "The Guild is in ruins."
"The Guild is perfectly in tact." Raion stated holding a drink to her. "It's the building that's in ruins."
"I don't follow." Lucy said.
"Same here." Grey said.
"You lost me." Yang said, holding the drink handed to her.
"Okay, guess I'm gonna have to explain this another way." Raion sighed. "Ruby."
"Yeah?"
"What is a Guild, to you?"
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.
"In your own words, explain to me what you think a guild is." Raion simplified.
"Well, I'd have to say, a guild to me, is a place where people who wanna do what's right, and earn money, come and…"
"I'm gonna stop you right there, because you already got it wrong." Raion said, interrupting Ruby.
"What?" Ruby asked, a comical tear in her eye as she sounded upset.
"Alright then smart guy, why don't you tell us what you think a Guild is?" Weiss suggested.
"Gladly." Raion said. "To many, the Guild symbolizes power, power from those who are strong, and come together to form a pseudo family. But they don't know, that a Guild, is just like a Kingdom."
"What exactly are you getting at?" Blake asked.
"Tell me Blake, what do you think a Kings duty is towards?" Raion asked.
"His Kingdom."
"Specifically. What is his duty towards?"
"A King's duty… is to his people." Blake stated.
"Right. Now, if the Kingdom is under attack, do you think his duty is to maintain the structure of the buildings surrounding his castle, making sure they remain in tact as possible, while leaving hundreds to die? Or do you think his duty is to protect his people, from the attacking forces?"
"It'd be the safety of his people." Erza said.
"I think I'm starting to see what you're getting at." Weiss said.
"Just as a Kingdom is not a place, but its people. So too, is it that a Guild, is not a place, but its people." Raion said, his words enlightening Teams RWBY and Natsu. "So long, as our Guild mates are safe, and unharmed. The Guild, is perfectly in tact. The building we inhabit, isn't what makes our Guild. Fairy Tail still stands, and we will not fall so easily. So the building we called our base was destroyed, big deal. We can always just rebuild, making it stronger."
"Couldn't have said it better myself my boy." Makarov smiled, before hopping down from the barrel.
"Where are you going?" Mira questioned.
"Keep your skirt on, I'm going to take a leak." Makarov stated running off.
"How can that old man be so relaxed about this?" Natsu asked. "You too Raion, what gives? Don't give me any of that bullshit about the guild being its people, and not its place."
"Natsu, the Master's just as angry about this as you are." Mira said. "Even Raion's mad, he's just not showing it."
"But in case you forgot, armed conflict between guilds was outlawed for a reason. The Great War during Master Mavis's time would be a prime example as to why." Raion stated. "We'd just be asking for trouble from the council if we retaliated at Phantom Lord with force."
"They started it!" Natsu exclaimed.
"Doesn't matter." Raion sighed. "All we can do is report this to the Council, and hope to Kami above, that they'll take action against Phantom Lord, for what Blacksteel Gajeel did to our Guildhall. There's nothing we can do about Phantom Lord. For now though, I think it's safe to assume our attackers are still out in the town. Which means, we shouldn't be alone at all for the next couple days."
"Hmm… I might have a solution to that conundrum." Mira smiled.
~That Night~
"Seriously Mira, did you have to suggest teams have sleepovers at their other teammates homes?" Raion groaned, pushing the cart towards his house, before looking back at it. "An' did you four have to join me at my house?"
"What did you expect, you are our Guild Instructor after all." Weiss said.
"She's right, so it's only fair you be the one to play host for us." Blake added.
"Even Mira said that you had to." Yang smiled.
"Jeez, Mira's really pushing it with her authority around the Guildhall." Raion sighed.
"So… why are we heading to the edge of town in the forest?" Weiss asked.
"Because that's where my house is." Raion said. "My Super Hearing tends to be a pain enough when I lose focus on controlling it. Living in town would just be too much of a hassle, and a headache, literally, so I made a house out on the edge of the forest, once I had enough money saved up to do so. We're actually coming up on it now."
The girls looked past Raion, and they all gasped, when they saw that the house he was talking about, looked more like a small mansion. The brick building looked rustic, with foliage and an overgrowth of vines on some areas of the building.
"What the hell is that Raion?" Yang questioned, her hands pressing down on his shoulders.
"My house." Raion said with a bit of irritation.
"That's not a house, that's a freaking mansion." Ruby stated. "You live in a mansion."
"It even has a gazebo. A gazebo." Blake said.
"Explain yourself, this instant." Weiss added, joining in the dog pile.
"Would you four get off of me already?" Raion questioned. "Look, I made the blueprints for my house, after I first came to Fairy Tail. Master even said, that some day I'd be strong enough to call myself a King."
"An' do you feel that way?" Blake asked.
"Honestly, not really. I'm no King, I'm just an S-Class mage, with a fancy title." Raion said. "But I swore I wouldn't build this house, until I became S-Class."
"So, you've only had this house for six months?" Yang asked.
"Four. It took two months to actually build." Raion said. "Now, who's hungry?"
"I could eat." Ruby smiled. "But first I gotta rush back to town, I forgot I had an ordered part for Crescent Rose on hold, and if I hurry, I should be able to make it before the post office closes."
"Be safe, and make sure you come straight back to my place." Raion said, as Ruby rushed off. "Her leg's obviously feeling better. How about the rest of you, dinner?"
"I could go for some grub." Yang smiled.
~Ruby~
"Phew, managed to make it to the post office in time." Ruby smiled, holding the new part for Crescent Rose, in her hand, before tucking it away. "It wasn't cheap to get this made, but it will be worth it, to see their faces. I just hope that Yang and the others bought my little white lie about it being a custom part I ordered."
"Hey, it's Ruby."
The dual color haired reaper looked up, and smiled when she saw Levy, accompanied by Jet and Droy, walking down the street, with the blue haired girl holding a bag of groceries.
"Hey girl, what are you doing out so late on your own?" Levy asked.
"I just had to pick up something from the post office, I had waiting for me." Ruby said. "What about you, where are you three going?"
"I'm spending the night at Jet and Droy's." Levy said. "It's gonna be like a big sleepover."
"Try anything with her, and I'll slice you both in half, before feeding you to the Grimm." Ruby stated, a sweet smile on her face, but a dark and sinister glare in her eyes, giving her the appearance of a yandere.
"Yes, ma'am." Jet and Droy said, saluting her.
"Well, shouldn't you be returning to Raions place about now? The one who attacked the guild could still be at large." Levy stated. "It's the whole reason why Mira suggested we stay in our teams for the night."
"Won't Raion get mad you didn't come back right away?" Droy asked.
"You don't gotta worry. Raion and I have been friends since we were little so he knows I'm gonna come back when I need to. He was there, when I lost my mom, and even though he had his own struggles, he's always looked out for me, even when I never needed it. I had him and Yang to look after me, since my dad sorta took the news very badly, and turned to alcohol."
"That's so sweet. Yang mentioned how he was always sort of like a big brother to the both of you." Levy smiled. "Sounds like you really look up to him."
"I do. But things sort of changed, after his dad sold him to…" Ruby stopped herself, by covering her mouth.
"Is everything okay?" Jet asked.
"Yeah, it's just. It's not really my story to tell, and I've already said too much about it." Ruby said softly.
"I get it. You're respecting the privacy of Raions past as best you can." Levy smiled. "Good on you Ruby."
Ruby looked to Team Shadow Gear with a smile, feeling all warm and fuzzy from just talking to them about this, before her eyes widened, as she caught the scent of someone, who smelled of rust, and metal. Without thinking, Ruby jumped to Levy, surprising the blue haired girl, as they were unaware of their attacker, coming up from behind them, with the young reaper shouting only one thing.
"Look out…!"
~Raion~
"That's so much better." Yang smiled, sitting on Raions couch, wearing a pair of shorts for bed, with a towel hanging from her neck, being all that kept the modesty of her chest. "Thanks for letting me use your shower Raion."
"No worries Yang." Raion said, as he was busy prepping dinner in the kitchen.
"Yang, could you please put on a descent shirt?" Weiss asked.
"What's the matter Weiss, my size making you uncomfortable and jealous?" Yang asked, making her chest bounce in front of the heiress, by pushing it out a bit.
"No, we are in a man's house. An' I don't think he appreciates this massive tease you're giving him." Weiss said, a blush on her face, with a tick mark on her forehead.
"It's fine." Raion said. "I've been somewhat desensitized to it by Cana, Erza, Lisanna, and Mira."
"That's good to know." Yang smiled. "But it still gets a reaction out of you?"
"Depends." Raion said.
"On what?" The blonde asked.
"Not telling, because you're just gonna use it against me." Raion stated.
"You're no fun." Yang huffed. "Where's Blake?"
"Sitting under the gazebo." Raion said. "Seems like she's enjoying the peace and quiet that comes with it."
"She likes that she can get a lot of reading done out there." Weiss said.
"Hey Raion." Yang began, turning around to look at him, her chest pressing into the couch.
"What's up?" He asked, tossing her a drink.
"I've been curious about something." The blonde said, catching the chocolate milk tossed to her. "You mentioned someone earlier a bit after we made it back to the Guildhall, and I'm curious, who's Blacksteel Gajeel?"
"Someone I've had multiple encounters with during jobs." Raion said. "He's one of the six strongest Huntsmen/Huntresses in Phantom Lord."
"Is he the reason why the Master's too scared to fight back?" Yang inquired.
"Yang, Master Makarov isn't scared to fight back. He's pissed, but he's also smart as fighting back, would land Fairy Tail in a whole boatload of trouble with the Magic Council." Raion said.
"How much trouble we talking about?" Yang asked.
"Disbanding, and jail time big." Raion stated. "Still it would take a whole lot more then just wrecking the Guildhall to get him so pissed he'd declare all out war against Phantom Lord. Not to mention that Phantom has their own Wizard Saint on their side as well."
"Wizard Saint?" Weiss asked.
"Right, I forgot those aren't a thing in the Four Kingdoms." Raion stated. "It's a title granted to the ten greatest Huntsmen or Huntresses on the continent, bestowed upon said Huntsman or Huntress, by the head of the Council himself."
"Wow, that's so amazing." Yang said in awe. "Wait, you said as well. Who do we have on our side, and who's on theirs that are Wizard Saints?"
"Phantom Lords Master Jose, is one of the Ten Wizard Saints." Raion stated. "As for who we have on our side, we've got Master Makarov. Both Guild Masters, hold a seat among the ten strongest in Fiore. Not to mention there are several Wizard Saints on the Council as well. Natsu would probably say that the Master is just scared! Phantom Lord does have more members then Fairy Tail, more branches scattered across the continent as well. But no, he's not scared, Master's just being smart."
"But that doesn't exactly explain why the Master's choosing not to fight back." Yang said.
"Any descent being with even half a brain would know exactly what would happen if both guilds devolved into an all out war in the open." Weiss stated. "They're trying to avoid that, for the safety of the entire world."
"Is Phantom Lord really that powerful?" Yang asked.
"Hard to say." Blake said, coming back into the house. "But Blacksteel Gajeel is definitely someone we need to look out for."
"Why, how strong is he?"
"In terms of strength, his power surpasses Natsu's." Raion said. "But he's still weaker then me, depending on the lunar cycle."
"Why?"
"Well, you know how badly my arm was damaged in the fight against Neo right?" Raion asked, showing the scar covered arm to Yang.
"Yeah, I remember seeing it after we got there when the police were taking statements and the Royal Guards were rounding up the White Fang." Yang said.
"Well, Saiyans, rely on the full moon to unleash their full strength. This ties into my invulnerability as well." Raion said. "Kryptonians, rely on sunlight for their power."
"We're still with you so far." Weiss said.
"Both those aspects of my biology, have combined." Raion said. "Meaning I'm at my pique, when I'm fighting on a day, that transitions into a night with a full moon."
"An' by that you mean, your invulnerability is maxed out, and you're unable to get hurt, right?" Yang asked.
"Pretty much." Raion said. "Though it's the opposite on a night with a new moon. If I'm fighting at top performance on a night with a new moon, then my body is as vulnerable as yours would be without an Aura. Basically my invulnerability is tied to the lunar cycle, even if it's daylight out, I'm still vulnerable to harm, but that slowly builds up, or dulls down, throughout the lunar cycle."
"I got ya." Yang said. "So if Gajeel's weaker then you, what kind of magic does he have?"
"Iron Dragonslayer magic." Raion said. "He's like you, Ruby, and Natsu, but he's an Iron Dragonslayer."
"Iron Dragonslayer?" Blake asked. "Does that mean he eats iron?"
"Just as how Natsu and Yang eat fire." Raion stated. "I'm familiar with his handy work, which is why I know he's the one who caused the guild's destruction alongside members of the White Fang Guild." Raion stated. "But, he's not the worst that Phantom Lord has to offer. Master Jose is said to have the same magical prowess as Master Makarov, making them equally matched in terms of their magical strength. But there are those, close to his level of power. I've only heard rumors, but I've never seen them in person myself. Phantom Lords S-Class Huntsmen, known as the Element 4. Blacksteel's power is said to rival three out of the four of them combined, which makes him real bad news."
"Who's stronger then that?" Blake asked.
"Aria of the Wind." Raion said. "He's a wind mage, who has a hidden power, held back by the blindfold he wears upon his eyes."
"Just how strong… is Phantom Lord?" Yang questioned, a chill of fear running down her spine.
'Ruby should have been back by now. I hope nothing has happened.' Raion thought.
~Magnolia South Gate Park~
Everything was all a bustle in the park. Normally, things were this lively so early in the morning. But today was the exception, due to what hung from the great Cherry Blossom Tree. The crowd gathered were all in shock, and worried about what they were seeing, as it would surely mean the start of something.
"Out of our way, please, we're from their Guild." Erza said, pushing through the crowd, wearing her armor.
Natsu, Lucy, Grey, Happy, were close behind, while Raion and three fourths of Team RWBY followed him close behind, before Yangs eyes shrank in horror.
"Ruby, NO!" The blonde shouted, pushing through the crowd even harder.
Raion ran straight for the tree, breaking the iron restraints that held the reaper girl up against the tree, before instantly catching the unconscious girl, and gently bringing her to the ground, putting her in Yangs arms.
"Ruby, please wake up." Yang said, her voice cracking as she was on the verge of hysteria. "Ruby, this isn't funny sis. You're taking this joke way too far. Please wake up."
The crowd looked in horror, as Yang reached a shaking hand up, and gently place her palm to Ruby's cheek, feeling how cold her skin was. Yang pulled Ruby in for a hug, almost instantly, as she began to cry. Ruby was one of two family members that remained in her life, after Summer had passed, and Raven had taken off, abandoning her with Tai.
Seeing this unfold, made Raions stomach churn, as his body was shaking with anger. Ruby was one of his child hood friends, and someone he could not stand to see being hurt. The silver eyed girl, laying unconscious in her elder sisters arms, as the blonde was crying over her. He grit his teeth to the point he could feel the pain of them cracking.
"These bruises, and lesions on her body." Weiss began. "They're consistent with some sort of club or blunt weapon with flanges of some kind."
"I recall seeing only one team at the Beacon Initiations, whose leader had a weapon like that." Blake said. "An' they unanimously agreed to join Phantom Lord, when they handed in their application."
"Then that means Gajeel's their Guild Instructor." Raion stated, looking back up at the tree, and saw the other three that were still hanging there. Bolted to the stump, with the iron nails piercing their forearms, just as Ruby had been, were Team Shadow Gear, bloodied, broken, and unconscious.
An immense power began resonating through the air, and the crowd parted again, for Makarov as he made his way to the scene, his body trembling when he stopped, and looked upon the gruesome sight.
"Master." Raion said, his voice and body becoming eerily calm, as he looked to the elderly man standing next to him.
Makarov looked to Raion, before turning his head down, his rage transcending his magic, while causing the ground beneath his feet to quake.
"I could look the other way, when they trashed and destroyed our Guildhall!" Makarov exclaimed. "It's nothing more then a building, a place that can be rebuilt."
The rumbling beneath the crowds feet, increased as not one, but two major sources of power began resonating with one another, as both Raion, and Makarov let their anger flow, showing those gathered, just what happens, when someone makes an enemy of the God of War, and Fairy Tail Master Makarov Dreyar. No one had ever seen Raion so pissed, but they knew, the look in his eyes meant, he was out for blood.
"But no father, can see the blood of his children spilled, and stay silent." Makarov exclaimed.
"No elder brother, should have to look at his family, and remain calm when they are hurting." Raion growled, his eyes glowing red with anger.
The rumbling ground stopped for a moment, before it instantly shook at a greater intensity, with both Huntsmen letting off immense power, and anger that even the Grimm would fear, with both of them speaking out, their hearts filled with pure unfiltered rage, and the flames of their auras erupting into burning infernos that surrounded their bodies.
"THIS MEANS WAR!"
